Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the use of the Simalungun language in the traditional Simalungun wedding ceremony performed by Anak Boru Sanina. The research method used in this research is qualitative descriptive analysis. The results of this study indicate the existence of code mixing and code switching by Anak Boru Sanina using Simalungun, Indonesian and Javanese. This is because there is a mixture of cultures between the two brides. In this study the groom came from the Javanese tribe.

Abstract

Literary works in Indonesia, including novels, both in terms of ideas and content, are heavily influenced by works from abroad. This influence is caused by many things, for example Indonesian writers who idolize foreign writers, similarities in social situations and conditions, or even unplanned similarities because Indonesian writers unconsciously intensively read one of the works of foreign writers. This research attempts to compare the novel Ipung by Prie GS with the novel the Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. Comparisons are only limited to pouring out the ideas, genres, and motives contained in the two novels. This research is a descriptive qualitative research that describes a number of ideas, genres, and motives concerning the basic issues of creation, and the message can be expressed accuratel. Based on the research results, it was stated that the novel Sang Alkemis by Paulo Coelho influenced Prie GS novel Ipung, both in terms of ideas, genres, and motives.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the values of education in the text of the Minangkabau Kaba Manuscript "Anggun Nan Tongga Si Magek Jabang" with the study of sociology of literature. The type of research used is qualitative research with descriptive research methods. The purpose of this study was to describe the values of education in Kaba Minangkabau "Anggun Nan Tongga Si Magek Jabang". The data collection technique used to obtain data was by searching for literature and analyzing the story of Kaba Minangkabau "Anggun Nan Tongga Si Magek Jabang". From the research results, it is obtained the values of religious, moral, social and cultural education. Educational values that really dominate are the values of religious and moral education. From the results of data analysis, Kaba Minangkabau was not only a public entertainment at its time.

Abstract

The aims of this study is to find out subordinative clause in Anak boru sanina utterances in simakungun wedding ceremony. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method. The result shows that the study is found only adverbial clause while noun clause and relative clause are do not found. The kind of adverbial clause that found are 13 clauses containing of purpose, 9 clauses are containing of manner, 4 clause are containing of causes, 2 clauses are containing of effect, and 2 clauses are containing of condition. The discussion shows that adverbial clause most appear in Anak Boru Sanina utterances in Simalungun wedding ceremony because in this position Anak Boru Sanina as the leader of wedding ceremony so all the utterances containing of adverb clause and the most is purpose to carry out the role of Simalungun culture.

Abstract

The behavior of the Hutabolon Village community in overcoming the problem of diseases that occur or that they experience is still relatively moderate. The community is already aware of the importance of health, but because there are insufficient facilities or health facilities, it makes the community still have a little difficulty in getting treatment. The research method used is qualitative with a descriptive approach, through this research method researchers get information about the types of diseases that often occur, modern and traditional medicine carried out by the people in Hutabolon Village as a behavior in overcoming health problems. The results of the study concluded that the types of diseases that often occur in Hutabolon Village are eight such as flu or respiratory infections, fever, rheumatism, diarrhea, wounds or vulnus, cavities or toothache, acute respiratory infections, and stomach acid. Behavior of the people of Hutabolon Village To overcome the problem of the disease is to use modern medicine or medical services coupled with traditional medicine.

Abstract

This research is a research conducted to determine the procedures, components of the ceremony, and to know the function and meaning of the Nava Rathiri and Vijaya Dhasami celebrations for Hindus in Medan City. This study used qualitative research methods and data collection was carried out by following the ceremony held directly by the Maha Puja Navarathiri & Vijaya Dhasamiumat Hindu ceremony at the Sri Mariaman Temple, Medan City. This research was conducted at the Srimariaman temple, where the navaratri is carried out for nine days every night in a row by Hindus living in the city of Medan. The result of this research is that this celebration is a worship for goddesses who have fought long ago against evil, namely giants. This celebration performed at Worship was done to please the goddesses for nine days as many days as it took for the goddess to defeat the evil monster. This is in accordance with its implementation, which is for nine days in the Tamil month of purification. There are many components used in this statement, from a series of flowers, coconut, trinkets, and many more. Worship is done to restore the good qualities of humans and defeat the bad qualities in humans because basically every human being is created for good. Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out the factors that cause low motivation of students in grade IV sd Negeri 03 Nyangkom in the 2020/2021 school year. This research method is a skin research method with a descriptive form of research. data collection techniques using observation, indirect communication, direct communication, and documentation. Data collection tools using observation sheets, questionnaires, interview sheets, and documentation. Based on the analysis of data on the application of learning motivation in grade IV has been carried out well the application of (1) praise, (2) gift giving, (3) Ego-involvement, (4) giving the replay intended here is training or giving homework, and (5) punishment, Although the criteria of motivation to study at SD Negeri 03 nyangkom are still in the category of less that is an average of 38% and percentage of 11%.The factors behind the low motivation of learning students in grade IV SD Negeri 03 Nyangkom are (1) students lack internal motivation in themselves students prefer to play and watch television rather than study at home and (2) external factors that affect the low motivation of learning that teachers provide less variety of teaching, a less clean classroom atmosphere, and parents who are less instrumental in motivating students. As well as the dominant factor behind the low motivation of learning is the internal factor that is in (1) many students who prefer to play rather than learn and on indicators (2) lack of hope and future goals.

Abstract

Riau is One of the targets to be achieved in national development is economic growth that can accelerate the growth of employment opportunities, so that economic development is the most important field for improving people's lives and welfare. The economic field has become a dynamist of change, namely walking ahead and driving the development of other fields. Besides playing a role in providing employment, small industry and home industry also play a role in improving the community's economy. One of the household handicraft industries is the songket fabric industry. Songket cloth is a cloth that is usually worn or worn as a bandage for the bottom of women's clothing. Songket cloth is usually worn at certain times during wedding celebrations. Songket cloth is a traditional heritage cloth from the ancestors of the people of South Sumatra. The raw materials for activities in analyzing data start from classification, categorization and interpretation, to discussion. The implementation of Islamic educational values in the use of male and female songket fabrics is in fact implicit in every stage of the procession of customs. Because this research looks more at the values of Islamic education in the use of male and female songket cloths, it is recommended that other researchers conduct broader and more comprehensive research in order to obtain more data good again.

Abstract

Assessing learning products of visual art was unlike evaluating other learning products. Due to its relation to visual outcomes, the first assessment required proper sensitiveness and measurable references. The research was intended to be the effort to acquire parameters of visual art assessment, especially of art painting, sculpture, ceramic, and batik assessments. The findings could be used as instruments in various visual art learning activities. Data were collected by distributing a list, interviewing the informants, and having Focus Group Discussion. The respondents were visual art lectures in the Faculty of Arts and Literature in one of the state universities in norther island of Sumatera, Indonesia. They were excellent at visual art and equipped with required sensitiveness. Besides, they also had relevant education with art painting, sculpture, ceramic, and batik. The findings, in the form of assessment parameters, were first, parameters of visual art assessment were form similarity, proportion, spatial depth, technique, composition, content, ambiance, brightness, color harmony, and texture. Secondly, parameters of non-figurative sculpture assessment were technique mastery, proportion, smoothness, expression, volume, space, and idea authenticity. Thirdly, parameters of figurative sculpture assessment were visual anatomy, proportion, motion effect, and drapery. Fourthly, parameters of ceramic assessment were technique mastery/finishing, innovation creativity, novelty, smoothness, expression, harmony, and need (market need). Last, parameters of batik assessment were technique, authenticity, modernity, color harmony, innovativeness, need finishing, and affordability.

Abstract

The study examines the role of Enashma traditional conflict resolution mechanism in handling conflict to maintain peace and stability. To realize the intended objectives, the study utilized case-study research approach with qualitative research method and the data were collected using observation, interview, focused-group discussion and document analysis. The data collected were analyzed and interpreted through word description and narration. According to the data obtained from the interview and focus group discussion, Enashma traditional conflict resolution mechanism has several advantages over the state law. Some of the advantages are restorative capacity, accessibility, revealing crime committed without witness and its acceptability. Paradoxically, the exclusion of women in the system, no standardized mechanism to fix payment of compensation for different conflicts, lack of supportive and strengthening measures from the government and lack of office for local elders are the major weakness of the institution as the information obtained from key informants. Therefore, the study recommended that all the stakeholders should be responsible tosolve the weakness of Enashma traditional conflict resolution mechanism in the study area.
