Abstract

Pelagic fish resources have a very important role in regional economic development. The assumption that fish resources are common property so that everyone is free to catch (open access) is a problem with overfishing in East Java waters. The purpose of this study is to determine the superior commodity of small pelagic fish, the status of exploitation of superior  fish resources and to compile a scenario of sustainable management of superior resources. The method in this research is quantitative descriptive method with data analysis used including Location Quotient (LQ), Schaefer (1954), Fox (1970), Walter Hilborn, and programming STELLA (System Thinking, Experimental Learning Laboratory with Animation). The research result of the superior species in the province in the south of East Java) is sardin, while the superior fish in the regency is s Rainbow runner. The status of fisheries at the level of superior fisheries exploitation in South East Java, the level of exploitation of ssrdin fish is 240% with the status of Depleted. Finally, the level of exploitation for s Rainbow runner fish is 689%, which means that they are included in depleted. The scenario of sustainable management of pelagic fisheries for the next 10 years, namely 2018 - 2027 for lemuru fish, the highest biomass reserves will be obtained in 2027, using a fixed effort allocation which has biomass reserves of 179% and the potential value of sustainable reserves of 8,438.48 tonnes. The results showed that the superior commodities of small pelagic fish in North East Java were mackerel fish. The superior fish commodity in the Regency / City is obtained by Finny scad fish. The level of exploitation for mackerel is 127% with the status of Over Exploited, and the level of exploitation for Finny scad is 131% with the status of Over Exploited. The scenario for the management of the superior mackerel commodity, the highest biomass reserve in 2027 is the allowable fishing effort allocation (fJTB) of 129%. Abstract

Botia fish (clown loach) growth is relatively slow, taking 4-5 months to reach marketable size (2 inch) and 3 years to achieve initial gonad maturation in female and 1 year in male fish. Environmental degradation and overfishing are factors triggering the production of newly potential broodstock. This study aimed to observe the growth response of potential broodstock through rearing technique with and without shelter. Fish were kept inside the aquaria sized 80x40x30 cm with 20 cm water height on the recirculation system. Fish used for shelter treatment were: Total length ± 7.7 cm, height ± 2.09 cm, and weight ± 7.33 g; for no shelter treatment were: Total length ± 6.7 cm, height ± 1.88 cm, and weight ± 4.59 g. Fish were stocked 10 fish / aquarium and fed 3 times / day by at satiation method. Parameters observed were total length, height and weight improvement also water quality. The results showed that growth and feed efficiency had better value when reared with shelter than without shelter. Keyword: Grow-out, Chromobotia macracanthus, shelter

Abstract

Baung fish (Hemibagrus nemurus) is a freshwater fish species native to Indonesian public waters, particularly in Sumatra and Kalimantan. Baung fish has thick, soft meat, delicious taste, and has high economic value. This research was conducted at the Workshop for Fisheries Cultivation Technology Study Program, using a container in the form of a fiber tub which is divided into 4 parts (100cm x 50cm x 7 cm) using waring. The test organism was fish baung with fish size 5cm-7cm, which were spread as many as 10 fish/bulkhead and kept for 60 days. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 3 replications. The treatment used was the addition of S. cerevisiae yeast to artificial feed (pellets) with different doses. Where the control treatment (K): without the addition of S. cerevisiae, treatment A (P1): with a dose of S. cerevisiae 0.2%, treatment B (P2): addition of S. cerevisiae by 0.5%, and treatment C (P3 ): S. cerevisiae dose of 0.8%. Application of S. cerevisiae uses a coating method with a frequency of 2 times a day. The parameters observed included fish health status (total red blood cells and white blood cells, hematocrit, hemoglobin, and blood glucose) as well as production parameters such as absolute growth, daily growth rate, total feed consumption, feed conversion ratio, survival rate. The results showed that the absolute growth rate and the highest daily growth rate were found in treatment (P2), respectively 21.86 ± 10.05 grams and 0.86 ± 0.38%. On the other hand, the lowest FCR value was found in treatment (P3), namely 1: 1.25 ± 0.60. This shows that the provision of S. cerevisiae has a positive impact on increasing red blood cells, white blood cells, and the growth performance of the fish. Abstract

Red tilapia is one of the commodities that can be cultivated in the running water pond. With the technology of running water ponds that depend on feeding. The cost of feed in production ranges from 60-70% of the total cost. Therefore, innovation in feed is needed to reduce production costs. Then an experiment was carried out aimed at finding out the efficiency in feeding maggot and pellet feed in red tilapia in the running water pond system. Some experiments were carried out by giving full feed pellets and substitution in maggot feed 50%. This research was conducted 75 days from March 2, 2020 to May 15, 2020. Observed parameters were production technique from stocking to harvest, frequency and dose, feed conversion ratio, daily weight gain, survival rate, and parameters water quality (pH, temperature, dissolved oxygen and water discharge). Daily average weight observations are carried out once a week. By providing different feeds, FCR is higher and pellet feed is superior to maggot and pellet combination feed. Pellet feeds produce FCR 2.8 and maggot and pellet combination feeds produce 3.79. With the loss of using maggot mixed feed IDR 15.709.111. Based on these results maggot feed experiments given did not provide a better effect than giving full pellet feed. Keywords: Experiment, red tilapia, different feeding, maggot, FCR, Financial Analysis.

Abstract

Pesticides are pollutants that are found in rice fields and rivers. Pesticides that are often used by farmers in Indonesia in eradicating insects are organophosphate insecticides, where they can eradicate insects that are very toxic to fish due to strong neurotoxic substances that inhibit AchE (Acetylcholinesterase) activity. The research aims to examine the effect of organophosphate pesticides on hematology and histopathology of hematopoietic organs in silver rasbora fish. The research method used is an experimental method with a CRD. The parameters observed were hematology and histopathology hematopoietic organ (liver and kidney). The results of this study showed a hematological change in silver rasbora fish where there was a decrease in total erythrocytes (0,59±0,004) and hemoglobin (2,5±0,1) while total leukocytes increased (245,35±15,78). Also, there are differential changes in leukocytes, namely an increased in the number of monocytes (5±1) and neutrophils (24±3), but lymphocytes have decreased in number (72±1). The Histopathology of the fish liver also can found in this research, those damages that are found are erythrocyte infiltration, necrosis picnosis, and karyolysis. Histopathology of fish kidney also can found cloudy sweling, necrosis karyolysis and tubular necrosis.

Abstract

Guppy fish is currently in high demand because they has interesting color variations such as red, blue, yellow. The carotenoid content in red peppers and red spinach is able to increase the brightness of the color of the fish. This research aims to find out the effect of the addition of red peppers and red spinach on guppy fish color. Completely Randomized Design with 3 treatment and 3 repetitions was used. The research data was analyzed by using the Adope Photoshop app by observing the discoloration that occurred before and after the treatment by using color libraries. The study found that the percentage of blue and purple in guppy fish increased. This was related to the absence of carotene that associated with protein and produces carotenoproteins. The most prominent discoloration result was the treatment 1 (addition of peppers). In treatment 1 there was a significant discoloration of the blue color with the code 732-0 from 0% to 11.9%, while in the treatment 2 (addition of spinach) color coded 732-0 was changed from 0% to 5.88%, the treatment 3(control) treatment was changed from 1.21 % to 0.6%. Meanwhile, the purple color with the code 728-0 on treatment 1 from 0% to 2.36%, on treatment 2 from 0% to 0.22% and on treatment 3 purple color did not came out. It can be concluded that the most influential to the color of guppy fish was peppers, spinach and control treatment, respectively. Keywords : red spinach, carotene, guppy fish, red peppers, color.
