Abstract

Rendahnya minat membaca siswa Indonesia menjadi perhatian utama dalam upaya meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan. Berdasarkan survei PISA 2019, Indonesia berada pada peringkat ke-62 dari 70 negara dalam hal kemampuan membaca. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dampak kegiatan literasi sekolah terhadap minat membaca dan kemampuan membaca siswa sekolah dasar. Pendekatan penelitian menggunakan metode kajian literatur dengan menganalisis berbagai sumber seperti artikel jurnal, laporan penelitian, dan dokumentasi terkait literasi. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis untuk mengevaluasi hubungan antara kegiatan literasi sekolah dan peningkatan kemampuan membaca siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan literasi sekolah memiliki dampak positif terhadap kemampuan membaca siswa. Pembiasaan membaca harian selama 15 menit, fasilitas pendukung literasi, serta keterlibatan teman sebaya telah membantu meningkatkan minat dan pemahaman membaca siswa. Siswa yang terlibat secara aktif dalam kegiatan literasi menunjukkan peningkatan kemampuan dalam memahami ide pokok, tema, dan kesimpulan dari bacaan. Namun, masih terdapat tantangan pada siswa yang kesulitan dalam analisis bacaan mendalam. Simpulan dari penelitian ini menegaskan pentingnya implementasi gerakan literasi sekolah untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca pemahaman dan membangun budaya membaca sebagai kebutuhan. Dengan penerapan yang konsisten, gerakan literasi sekolah tidak hanya meningkatkan kemampuan membaca, tetapi juga memperluas wawasan siswa dan menciptakan pembelajar sepanjang hayat. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi signifikan dalam mendukung program literasi sebagai strategi untuk meningkatkan mutu pendidikan di Indonesia.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (IRE) plays a strategic role in building religious moderation, especially amid the challenges of globalisation and the rise of intolerance. Religious moderation emphasises balance in understanding religious teachings, avoiding extremism, and fostering tolerance and inclusivity. This article aims to examine the contribution of PAI in shaping the moderate character of the younger generation through the curriculum, learning methods, and the role of teachers as role models. The research method used is library research with a qualitative approach. The results of the study show that PAI can be an effective instrument for internalising the value of moderation, if supported by a contextual curriculum, dialogic learning methods, and the active role of educators in guiding students. In conclusion, PAI not only functions as a medium for transferring religious knowledge, but also as a strategic tool in building a tolerant, inclusive, and civilised society.

Abstract

This study examines the strategic management of the head of Madrasah in improving the quality of education at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 3 Bireuen. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through observation, documentation, and interviews, utilizing both primary and secondary sources.The findings reveal that the head of the madrasah's strategy encompasses five key aspects. First, internal consolidation, which involves formulating the institution's vision and mission and establishing collaborative teams to align school goals. Second, needs analysis, focusing on gathering information related to students, teaching methods, and teacher strategies to tailor more effective learning approaches. Third, human resource development, implemented through teacher training, selective recruitment, performance evaluation, and the creation of a supportive learning culture. Fourth, monitoring and evaluation, aimed at assessing educational outcomes and serving as a foundation for continuous improvement. Fifth, follow-up planning, which includes regular meetings with teaching staff to devise concrete steps in overcoming challenges and enhancing the quality of education.

Abstract

Bahasa berperan penting sebagai alat utama dalam interaksi sosial, dan kemampuan berbahasa mulai dikembangkan anak sejak masa bayi melalui pengenalan terhadap suara dan intonasi. Pemerolehan bahasa terjadi secara alami, sementara pembelajaran bahasa mencakup proses formal di lingkungan belajar anak. Seiring meningkatnya penggunaan media digital, seperti aplikasi edukasi dan platform video, anak-anak memiliki akses yang lebih luas ke konten bahasa yang interaktif dan menarik. Namun, penggunaan media digital juga menghadirkan tantangan, seperti risiko kecanduan dan dampak negatif terhadap perkembangan bahasa jika tidak diawasi dengan baik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif melalui kajian literatur untuk menganalisis dampak media digital terhadap pemerolehan dan pembelajaran bahasa pada anak usia dini. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa meskipun media digital mampu memperkaya kosakata dan kemampuan bahasa anak, keterlibatan orang tua dalam pemilihan konten yang tepat sangat penting untuk memaksimalkan manfaat serta mengurangi potensi risikonya.

Abstract

The problems that arise in the field include the lack of competence of administrative staff in managing personnel data and planning programmes to improve teacher capacity. In addition, the use of information technology to support educational administration is still limited, so that human resource data management is not yet running efficiently and accountably. Coordination between the administration and the school management team is also not very synergistic, which has an impact on the slow implementation of training, certification, or competency improvement programmes for education personnel in schools. This study aims to examine the role of madrasah principals in improving educational administration performance as a strategic effort in human resource development at SMKS Dayah Darul Ihsan Aceh Besar. The research approach used is a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation.The results show that the madrasah principal plays an important role as a leader, manager, and motivator in directing an efficient, orderly, and organised educational administration system. Various strategies were implemented to improve administrative performance, such as staff training, continuous coaching, the application of information technology, and the establishment of a professional work culture. Factors influencing administrative performance included leadership, administrative staff competence, infrastructure, work climate, and policy support.Good administrative performance has a proven positive impact on human resource development, particularly in terms of improving the competence, productivity, and professionalism of teachers and educational staff. Thus, the role of the madrasah principal is crucial in creating an administrative system that supports the achievement of educational goals and the development of quality human resources.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using educational videos to improve students' understanding of Islamic law at SMK Negeri 1 Gunung Meriah. The research method used was Classroom Action Research (CAR), which was carried out in two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were 30 students in the 11th grade of a specific expertise programme. The research instruments were observation sheets, comprehension tests, and student response questionnaires. The results showed a significant increase in students' understanding of Islamic law material after the implementation of educational videos. In cycle I, student learning completeness reached 70%, and increased in cycle II to 90%. In addition, student responses to the use of educational videos were very positive because they were considered more interesting, easy to understand, and relevant to everyday life. Thus, the use of educational videos can be used as an alternative strategy for Islamic Education teachers in improving the quality of learning in vocational schools.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students' Juz 'Amma memorisation skills through the application of the group muraja'ah method at the UPTD SPF SDN Sianjo Anjo Meriah. This study uses a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design with two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The research subjects were 25 fourth-grade students. The research instruments included observation sheets, memorisation tests, and reflection notes. The results showed a significant improvement in students' memorisation skills. In cycle I, 64% of students achieved the mastery criteria, while in cycle II, this increased to 88%. In addition, students showed more enthusiasm, activity, and motivation in repeating memorisation in groups. Thus, the group muraja'ah method is effective in improving Juz 'Amma memorisation skills while fostering togetherness and enthusiasm for learning among students.

Abstract

Persuasive Communication Techniques Used by Parents in Preventing Gadget Addiction in Children: A Study in Gampong Neusu Jaya, Baiturrahman District, Banda Aceh City. This study aims to determine how persuasive communication techniques are used by parents in preventing gadget addiction among children in Gampong Neusu Jaya and to identify various factors that influence the effectiveness of parental communication in preventing gadget addiction among children. This study is a qualitative study, with a descriptive research design, using observation, interviews, and documentation techniques. The research subjects consisted of 15 people, comprising 13 mothers and 2 fathers who had children aged 6-12 years. Based on the results of interviews with parents, the findings of this study are that in preventing gadget addiction in children, parents use persuasive communication techniques. The techniques used are open communication between children and parents, setting time limits on gadget use, providing alternatives by inviting children to do other activities, conveying messages to children about the negative effects of excessive gadget use, and communication between fathers and mothers. Factors influencing the effectiveness of parental communication in preventing gadget addiction in children include communication barriers between parents and gadget-addicted children, consistency in enforcing rules, parental discipline, and the initial use of gadgets by children based on educational needs, which eventually leads to a shift in the use of gadgets by children.

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of the Task-Based Learning (TBL) method in improving student learning outcomes in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) at Al-Hikmah Gugul Tlanakan Pamekasan Junior High School. The research aims to assess both the effectiveness of TBL and the factors influencing its implementation. The main problems discussed are: (1) how effective TBL is in improving students’ learning outcomes, and (2) the supporting and inhibiting factors in applying this method.Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected from the principal, PAI teachers, and students through observation and interviews. Data analysis involved reduction, presentation, and verification.Findings reveal that effective learning requires professional teachers who can select suitable teaching methods. The TBL method is considered quite effective in enhancing students’ understanding, motivation, and engagement in learning activities. Improved learning outcomes were evident from observations and interviews. Supporting factors include student cooperation, teacher motivation, high interest in learning, adequate learning media, and experienced teachers. Inhibiting factors involve limited student participation, low attention to teacher instructions, physical fatigue, and lack of enthusiasm in some learners.

Abstract

School Health Facilities and Infrastructure are basic requirements for physical health activities in schools. Without adequate School Health Facilities and Infrastructure, it is difficult to expect school members to participate in physical health activities. The more School Health Facilities and Infrastructure available, the easier it is for school members to use and benefit from them. Conversely, the more limited the available UKS facilities and infrastructure, the more limited the opportunities for school members to use and utilise them in physical health activities. Thus, the availability of School Health Services facilities and infrastructure will affect the level and pattern of school members' participation in physical health activities. This study aims to determine the availability of UKS facilities and infrastructure in senior high schools in the Peusangan District of Bireuen Regency in the 2015/2016 academic year. This study is a descriptive qualitative study. The population in this study was all senior high schools in Peusangan District, Bireuen Regency, in the 2015/2016 academic year, which numbered eight schools. The researcher collected data using direct observation techniques at each school. Data processing in this study used the percentage method, starting from data collection, data analysis, review of research questions, and discussion of research results. From the data analysis, it was found that 67.30% of schools had UKS facilities and infrastructure that were in good condition, while 9.13% of all senior high schools in Peusangan District, Bireuen Regency, were in poor condition and unusable. The remaining 23.55% of the total UKS facilities and infrastructure needed as health facilities in schools were in the unavailable category.
