Abstract

This project discusses the preparation and execution of the Trackpresso: 5K Color Run 2024 event. Anak Panah Kopi, as the client, collaborated with the organizing team based on a desire to host a trending event in recent months, utilizing the "riding the wave" strategy. This report follows the event management framework outlined in Joe Goldblatt's book *Special Events*, which divides the event process into five stages, from research to evaluation. Trackpresso: 5K Color Run targeted 150 participants and took place on August 24 in Semarang City. The results of this report indicate that the event was carried out in accordance with the initial target of 150 participants who attended the Trackpresso: 5K Color Run. In fulfilling the roles of Coordinator of Publications and Documentation, Marketing Manager, and Finance and Administration Manager, the team successfully managed all tasks related to publication and documentation. The Marketing Manager achieved the pre-determined Instagram follower target of 300 through promotional strategies, and the Finance and Administration Manager successfully handled all necessary paperwork and financial management for the event. This report recommends that the Trackpresso: 5K Color Run project can provide academic contributions to the preparation of similar events in the future.

Abstract

The high consumption level of sugar-sweetened beverages (SSB) among the public is a concerning issue that has become a hot topic of discussion. Indonesia ranks third in Southeast Asia for the highest consumption of SSB. One effort to reduce this high SSB consumption is the 30 Days Without Sugar-Sweetened Beverages Campaign. This campaign is a social media trend that challenges individuals to avoid consuming SSB for 30 days. Online media like Detik and Kompas are also striving to curb high SSB consumption in the community through news about diabetes caused by SSB consumption. This study aims to examine the correlation between the 30 Days Without Sugar-Sweetened Beverage Campaign exposure and diabetes news exposure on sugar-sweetened beverage consumption. The sample consisted of 100 respondents aged 18-35 years who had been exposed to information about the 30 Days Without SSB Campaign and diabetes news. The theory used in this study is the Theory of Reasoned Action (TRA). The sampling technique used is purposive sampling, and Kendall’s Tau_b test. The results show that the test value between the exposure to the 30 Days Without SSB Campaign and SSB consumption behavior has a significance value of 0.861, which is greater than 0.05, indicating that the correlation between the variables is not significant. The information and messages from the 30 Days Without Sugary Drinks Campaign received by the respondents cannot change their behavior in consuming sugary drinks but can only change their attitude towards SSB consumption. Similarly, the exposure to diabetes news and SSB consumption behavior has a significance value of 0.295, which is greater than 0.05, indicating that the correlation between the variables is not significant. This shows that the information and messages from diabetes news in online media cannot be the main factor causing a change in individuals' SSB consumption behavior. The study results indicate that there is no relationship between the two independent variables (campaign exposure and news exposure) and the dependent variable (sugary drink consumption behavior)

Abstract

Generation Z is the largest age group in Indonesia, accounting for approximately 27.94 percent of the total population. Online gaming has become an integral part of daily life for Generation Z in Indonesia. As a generation raised in the digital era, Generation Z shows a strong attachment to technology, including online games, which, when played with high intensity, can lead to addiction. One of the most popular online games among Generation Z is Mobile Legends. This study aims to examine the influence of peer group communication intensity and self-control on the level of addiction to Mobile Legends among Generation Z. The study employs a quantitative explanatory method with purposive sampling involving 108 respondents. The results indicate that peer group communication intensity has a significant effect on the level of online gaming addiction, where higher communication intensity within peer groups correlates with a greater likelihood of addiction. On the other hand, low self control also significantly contributes to higher levels of online gaming addiction, especially in Mobile Legends

Abstract

The phenomenon related to the intention of public support for the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) is decreasing at a time when parties opposing it are increasing. Support intentions can be seen as a beneficial aspect for political parties from the perspective of human behavior in politics. Given the increasingly competitive political dynamics in Indonesia with the emergence of new parties, the decline in support for PDIP is a major concern. Although PDIP managed to win the 2024 Legislative Election, there was a significant drop in vote percentage compared to the previous election, as well as the failure of its presidential and vicepresidential candidate pair (Ganjar-Mahfud) in the 2024 Executive Election. The shifting dynamics of Indonesian politics provide the context for this research, with PDIP, one of the main political parties, facing a drop in electability despite winning the 2024 parliamentary election. This drop-in support is assumed to be impacted by poor government performance, the formation of new parties, and a variety of campaign techniques that are less effective. The paradigm of this research is positivism with quantitative approach. This study aims to explain the effect of political news attitude and perceived importance of religious on intention to support PDIP by using the theory of planned behavior. The population in this study were political participants from generation z, with a non-probability sampling technique on 100 both male and female respondents aged 18-30 years who participated in the 2024 elections and had contact with a political party, namely PDI-Perjuangan or PDIP. The results of hypothesis testing using multiple linear regression tests show that the influence of political news attitude and perceived importance of religious has an influence on intention to support PDIP after the 2024 Indonesian General Election.

Abstract

The success of an international student is not only determined by his or her academic achievement but also by how well the student experiences the adaptation process by interacting with the host culture. Indonesia is one of the destination countries for foreign students to study, and for sure those students have to adapt to the new environment and interact with the local people by using the local language (Indonesian Language) and living with the host culture. However, how do Diponegoro University international students experience the adaptation process by interacting with the host culture in Semarang City? The purpose of this research is to describe the experience of International students when they adapt to the host culture, to analyze the experiences of international students by interacting with the host culture, and to describe the identity of international students after interacting with the host culture. The method used in this research is a phenomenology qualitative method by Max Van Manen (1990), with a deep interview with five international students from Rwanda, Sierra Leon, Madagascar, Pakistan, and Sudan. The result of this study highlights the adaptation process of international students interacting with the host culture which shows that the international students at Diponegoro University experience the same feeling upon arrival in the host culture which is excitement and surprise, also, all of them passed through the culture shock. The common shock was regarding the language, food, and social norms. However, to overcome the culture shock, each international student has their way of adapting, including, accepting the host culture, choosing not to interact with the host culture (not interact with the locals) and other was making a lifestyle change. In conclusion, it can be concluded that the culture shock was the cause of the challenge faced by those students, however, to adapt to the host culture, the 2 important is to make themselves comfortable, and the influence of the host culture, may change students' lifestyle.

Abstract

This research examines the impact of service quality, brand image, and social media exposure on customer loyalty in the context of Subscription Video on Demand (SVoD) services, with a specific focus on Netflix in Indonesia. Despite being a pioneer in the Indonesian SVoD market, Netflix experienced a decline in market share in 2022. The study aims to understand the factors influencing customer loyalty, employing the Expectancy Disconfirmation Theory, Customer-Based Brand Equity, and Advertising Exposure Theory, along with Expectancy Confirmation Theory. The sampling technique utilized non-probability sampling, with a sample size of 100 respondents comprising Generation Z and millennials residing in the Jakarta-Bogor-DepokTangerang-Bekasi (Jabodetabek) area. Regression analysis results indicate that service quality has a significance value of 0.000, with a positive coefficient of 0.144, and brand image has a significance value of 0.000, with a positive coefficient of 0.208 which show that there’s an influence of service quality and brand image on Netflix’s customer loyalty. Meanwhile, social media exposure does not show a significant impact on Netflix’s customer loyalty. These findings suggest that prioritizing and enhancing service quality and brand image can be strategic focuses for companies aiming to strengthen customer loyalty in the SVoD industry.

Abstract

The phenomenon of sharenting, where parents share their children's activities on social media, has emerged from the evolving parenting patterns in the digital world. Initially, it was about sharing everyday moments, but now children gain popularity that parents exploit for personal gain. This activity threatens children's privacy and rights, as their personal information is widely disseminated without their consent. Content commodification occurs, turning the child's private life into a tool for profit. This study employs Social Network Theory, Communication Privacy Management Theory, and Political Economy of Media Theory using netnography on the TikTok account @ndhiraa07. The findings indicate that sharenting activities include the child's daily routines, packaged entertainingly while also being educational, motivational, and shaping the image of a good young mother. Although sharing everyday activities, content commodification is evident where the child's popularity is leveraged for profit through content exposure and endorsement practices, resulting in high engagement in the form of views, likes, and comments. The child's privacy is violated by blurring private and public spaces.

Abstract

Perempuan merupakan target utama dari tindakan body shaming, namun pria juga sering mengalami body shaming sama seperti perempuan, tetapi kasus-kasusnya kurang tersorot dan terekspos. Remaja pria ketika mengalami body shaming memilih untuk diam dan memendam saja tidak seperti remaja perempuan. Pada pria, tindakan body shaming memiliki kekhasan tersendiri yang membedakan dengan tindakan body shaming yang dialami oleh perempuan, yaitu mengarah pada kritikan atau ejekan mengenai penampilan, kepribadian, gestur tubuh, dan lain sebagainya yang berkaitan dengan penyimpangan pada maskulinitas. Pria yang tidak bisa memenuhi standar tubuh ideal dan tidak bisa menjadi sosok yang maskulin akan direndahkan dan menjadi sasaran tindakan body shaming. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu memahami proses pemaknaan pesan body shaming yang dialami pada korban remaja pria. Penelitian ini merupakan tipe kualitatif yang menggunakan metode analisis Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA). Dalam penelitian ini, peneliti melakukan wawancara mendalam interview kepada lima informan yaitu lima remaja pria usia 18-23 tahun yang telah mengalami tindakan body shaming. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa proses koordinasi pemaknaan pesan body shaming pada korban remaja pria diawali dengan menerima pesan body shaming dan memaknai pesan body shaming. Pemaknaan terhadap pesan body shaming yang terbentuk yaitu pemaknaan pesan body shaming sebagai tindakan yang mengganggu citra diri, pemaknaan pesan body shaming sebagai ungkapan candaan dan pemaknaan pesan body shaming sebagai motivasi. Teman merupakan pelaku body shaming utama selain keluarga dan orang yang memiliki kuasa. Penerimaan pesan dan pemaknaan pesan body shaming memicu informan untuk memberikan tanggapan berupa respon dan reaksi yang merupakan bentuk perlawanan informan terhadap pelaku yang disesuaikan dengan tingkat keakraban informan dengan pelaku dan tingkat keparahan pesan body shaming yang diberikan pelaku. Informan terdorong untuk menceritakan pengalaman body shaming kepada teman cerita dan hal ini merupakan bentuk katarsis. Informan merasa memerlukan penguatan dan dukungan dari orang terdekatnya untuk mengelola dan mengatasi permasalahan body shaming. Upaya melakukan proses koordinasi pemaknaan body shaming memunculkan dua redefinisi terhadap pemaknaan tubuh informan. Redefinisi pemaknaan tubuh pertama yaitu tubuh sebagai alat kontrol maskulinitas yang mengartikan bahwa informan menganggap tubuh sebagai titik terlemah yang informan miliki karena sering dikomentari, dikontrol, diawasi dan mendapatkan pesan body shaming dari orang lain terkait dengan penyimpangan terhadap standar maskulinitas di Indonesia. Redefinisi pemaknaan tubuh kedua yaitu tubuhku milikku mengartikan bahwa tubuh yang informan miliki hanya bisa didefinisikan dan dinilai oleh informan sendiri karena setiap orang memiliki standar dan ekspektasi terhadap tubuhnya masing-masing. Terbentuknya redefinisi pemaknaan terhadap tubuh membuat informan memikirkan kembali mengenai definisi dari tubuhnya sendiri.

Abstract

The wives of TNI-Polri members are inseparable from their husband's institutions. For married TNI-Polri members, their wives play an important role in the smooth progression of their careers. Therefore, every wife who automatically joins the Bhayangkari and Persit organizations needs to adapt to the culture within these organizations. The research findings show that Bhayangkari members can learn the organizational culture earlier through the initial socialization they receive, while Persit members tend to learn over time through organizational activities. Spouses are the primary source of information for each informant about the organizational culture. Bhayangkari and Persit are collectivist organizations, although they share similarities in hierarchical structure with TNI-Polri institutions. Relationships among Bhayangkari members tend to be more complex, with more conflicts involving senior-junior power relations. Hierarchical communication is an essential aspect that wives need to understand to adapt effectively. Communication adaptation tends to be done through convergence by adopting the language style present in the organizational environment, adjusting gestures to match the interlocutor, and regulating the length of conversations in interactions.

Abstract

Representasi ibu tunggal dalam media massa masih sering ditampilkan dengan figur yang kurang baik. Hal ini terjadi karena beredarnya banyak stigmatisasi mengenai ibu tunggal. Pada tahun 2019, salah satu media populer dari negara Korea Selatan merilis sebuah drama korea yang berjudul When the Camellia Blooms sebagai upaya untuk memberikan penggambaran yang lain dari sosok ibu tunggal. Penelitian ini ingin melihat bagaimana penggambaraan ibu tunggal dalam drama ini. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui bagaimana representasi ibu tunggal di dalam drama korea When the Camellia Blooms. Metode penelitian menggunakan analisis semiotika John Fiske. Dalam analisisnya, John Fiske menggunakan konsep the codes of television yang terbagi dalam tiga tahapan yakni level realitas, level representasi, dan level ideologi untuk melihat bagaimana kode-kode tersebut bekerja dalam sebuah tayangan. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ada empat tema besar yang ditemukan untuk membentuk representasi ibu tunggal yaitu peran ibu tunggal dalam rumah tangga, pandangan kepada ibu tunggal secara sosial, kompleksitas hubungan romantisme ibu tunggal, dan keputusan resistensi yang dipilih ibu tunggal.Dari keempat tema hasil analisis tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa representasi ibu tunggal dalam drama When the Camellia Blooms yaitu sebagai sosok supermom karena dapat melaksanakan peran ganda, memiliki kemampuan untuk melakukan perlawanan, dan memiliki kontrol atas dirinya sendiri tanpa pengaruh orang lain.
