Abstract

This study used perspective sociology of literary to identify form of local wisdom of Mbojo Tribe in the short story of La Riru by Mas’oed Bakry. This type of research is qualitative research with descriptive analysis method. The data in this research are in the form of text like words, sentences, or discourse in accordance with the formulation of problem. The source of data in this study is short story La Riru by Mas'oed Bakry published by Pusat Pembinaan dan Pengembangan Bahasa in 1984. The results of study showed that in short story of La Riru by Mas'oed Bakry was identified the local wisdom of the Mbojo Tribe community form of locality like linguistic system with the use of Mbojo language; the locality in the art system in the form of horse racing; and locality in the belief system in the form of use witchcraft and teluh; locality in the livelihood system of life through agriculture, plantations, and animal husbandry.

Abstract

This study aims to gain an in-depth understanding of the meaning of cultural symbols contained in the Pusakrama Manuscript. Manuscript which relates to moral and spiritual concepts. This research is a qualitative semiotic approach with content analysis techniques. As for the results of this study, there are 30 songs (paragraphs) that have cultural significance in the Sasak community, consisting of; 1) Trust in God (Apage) as much as 5 data, 2) Love for spouse (Eros) consists of 3 data, 3). Love for others (philia) consists of 9 data, 4). Self-love (Narcissistic) consists of 2 data, 5). Care for the environment (Cosmic) consists of 3 data, and 6). Love for the country (Patriotic) consists of 4 data. Bekesah Puspakrama is an oral taradisi script used in various traditional ritual activities. The implication of this research is expected to have an impact on the development of language and literary education as well as efforts to preserve oral tradition texts in Indonesia.

Abstract

Literary works make language the medium, because through the language of writers imagining their thoughts and ideas. Poetry genre is a literary genre. Poetry explains something with something else. In other words there are indirect expressions in poetry. This research is titled poem al-Hikmah wa al-Mauidzoh Fi Diwan Mahmud al-Warraq with a Semiotic analysis knife proposed by Michael Riffaterre. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The results of this study are based on heuristic reading, it means that a human being must forgive one another's mistakes, even though there are so many mistakes. In the hermeneutic reading, it means that a judge who requires himself to forgive the mistakes of others, then described three types of judges namely the noble, the lowly judge, and a good judge or comparable to a noble judge. The model is found in four sentences namely "there is no human being, but one in three", "as for my comparability", "I guard against answering it, for my honor", "actually respect with respect, is wise," And also in the poem found a simplified binary opposition of the words sorry and wrong, noble and contemptible, and the words above and below. The matrix in this verse of poetry is the wisdom of a judge. As for the intellectual relationship, the poem put forward by Mahmud Al-Warraq has similarities with the verses of the Qur'an, the hadith of the Prophet and the poetry put forward by Imam Shafi'i in his Diwan.

Abstract

Literary work does not only mean a word but behind the words contain very deep meaning. This research tries to explore the deepest meaning of one of the poems by al-Akhtal in his Diwan Book entitled "Tumitu wa Tuhyiyu" with Riffaterre's semiotic approach. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The results of this study are in reading heuristics. The first verse, mentioning the beginning that causes death (unconsciousness) is drinking khamar, not only unconscious but also forgetting what has happened. The second line explains the conditions experienced by a group of people who drink khamar, that group of people who are unconscious (dead) for three days means that the effects caused after drinking the khamar have a major impact, so it is mentioned when they are aware that their breath has not returned completely. As the model is the first actualization of the matrix. The first actualization of this matrix is in the form of specific or poetic words or sentences. The specificity and poetry of the model is able to distinguish words or other sentences in the poem. In this case the poem above has a poetic sentence structure, that is, the first is in the sentence as follows فعد بنا إلى مثلها بالأمسand تميت وتحيي بعد مىتThese two models were chosen, because they represent the entire sound of the poetic text contained in eight verses. The eight verses of the poem reflect two points, first, about the actual condition of the drinker, that they were originally good, healthy, normal people like humans in general. Second, it emphasizes that the nature of the drinker shows the true state of being conscious (living), although then he experiences two conditions between turning on (conscious) and deadly (unconscious). The poetry matrix which is then obtained is the "mirage of pleasure".

Abstract

Penelitian ini berfokus pada kajian Psikologi tokoh utama pada syair al-I’tiraf Karya Abu Nawas. Abu Nawas merupakan salah satu penyair yang memiliki karya-karya monumental sehingga menarik untuk dikaji lebih dalam. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode pustaka (library Reaserch) dengan pisau analisis Psikologi sastra Sigmund Frued. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah tokoh aku dalam syair memiliki sifat id, ego dan superego yang digambarkan dalam sifat yang rendah hati, sabar dan pantang menyaerah. Tokoh aku dalam syair al-i’tirof memiliki sifat yang rendah hati ia menghadap kepada Allah karena ia merasa dirinya tidak pantas menjadi penghuni surga dan tidak mampu dengan siksa api neraka ia berharap doanya diterima karena Allah lah pemilik ampunan segala dosa yang telah dilakukan hamba-hambanya. Dalam syair al-i’tirof tokoh aku memiliki sifat yang sabar dalam artian tetap istiqomah untuk mendekatkan diri kepada Allah ia mengibaratkan dosanya laksana butiran pasir yang tidak akan dapat dihitung dan tokoh aku tetap bersabar untuk tetap berdoa kepada Allah agar dosanya iampuni. Dalam syair al-i’tirof tokoh aku juga mempunyai sifat pantang menyerah dalam usahanya agar dosa-dosanya di ampuni oleh Allah karena jika dosanya tidak dikabulkan maka ia akan mempertanggung jawabkan dosa-dosanya di akhirat kelak.

Abstract

The arising of literature in America have been influenced by few improvement and development its landscape. The alteration takes a part of American society till twentieth century. The condition of society is scene of the set experiences and knowledge which is filling in the prose. One of American literature shows the correlation between social fact, history, and culture as reality phenomena and fiction or novel as imaginary world which is The Great Gatsby by F. Scott. Fitzgerald. Thereby, to express all of the realities or facts and to see what extent the fiction represents about reality or fact. From this, it needs a research. This research entitled: “Repertoire in F. Scott. Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby: Analysis of Response Aesthetic Wolfgang Iser”. The aim of this research is to express the form of repertoire in TGG which is background of its created. So the foreground of the author’s purposes can be actualized. Beside, this analysis also appears effect to build a response aesthetic with repertoire in the text and it belongs to the reader. In this research uses the entire whole repertoire in the texts which is known in the novel, TGG as an object of study and the repertoire as a perspektif of Wolfgang Iser theory. Afterwards, this object will be linked with all of the nature of the work itself, include social norm or fact, history and the whole of culture that involve to the text which is emerged. After reading process, read, and to conducted analysis data. From the act of analyses, the social norm can be reveal in The Great Gatsby is a social reality of American society which is not release from the spirit of American Dream, group of society; upper class and lower class. Then, other social norms are material achievement, business and the lack of morality. The cultural fact that emerged in this novel is dance party and the roar of jazz music. The last one is the fact of history which is known in the TGG is a Post-World War One. Starting from the background and the response aesthetic, foreground that will be turn of the author is a social fact, which is revealed to protest or t critic of the concept of the American Dream.

Abstract

Sastra anak di Indonesia selama ini dianggap sebagai 'bagian kecil' dari sastra Indonesia. Ia seolah 'sastra dewasa yang dianggap kecil', sastra anak sebagai anak sastra. Sementara, sastra Indonesia yang kentara angker menjadikan dirinya eksklusif dan makin menjauh dari ruang kebutuhan. Demikian pula sastra anak, yang seharusnya berada dalam keberterimaan, ia tidak diajarkan sesuai dengan perkembangan anak yang semestinya dulce et utile, yaitu yang menyenangkan dan memberikan pencerahan. Artinya, sastra bagi anak sebenarnya adalah batu loncatan agar mereka terbiasa membaca, sehingga ia selanjutnya tidak gagap ketika membaca buku-buku lain di luar buku sastra. Sastra anak khususnya dongeng diyakini memiliki kontribusi yang besar bagi perkembangan kepribadian anak dalam proses menuju ke kedewasaan. Dongeng diyakini mampu menjadi salah satu sarana untuk menanam, memupuk, mengembangkan, dan bahkan melestarikan nilai-nilai yang diyakini baik dan berharga oleh keluarga, masyarakat, dan bangsa karena adanya pewarisan nilai-nilai itulah, eksistensi suatu masyarakat dan bangsa dapat dipertahankan.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the character of Moana in the animated film, Moana (2016), as a representation of black female leaders. The animated film is produced by Walt Disney, USA. In addition, the interesting thing about the film is the attitude of leadership which is shown by the character Moana. Stories emphasized primarily in the struggle of ‘black women’ –which is often considered as a “liyan” in the United States— inrestoring the welfare of her community. This research uses the qualitative method and analyzed by the feminist literary criticism. From the three waves of feminism, which were shared by Cudd and Andreasen, Moana belongs to the third group—the wave that no longer sues the patriarchy, but rather to present a figure of a strong and courageous woman. The result of this research is Moana succeeded to show the leadership attitude of a black woman. She also succeeded to restore the welfare of Mautunui villagers by restoring the heart of TeFiti—theisland goddess. Her attitude as a leader is shown in her efforts to restore the heart, which has fought against the invasion of a coconut monster, facing Crab in Lalotai—themonster world, and facing TeKa-The lava monster. The film is used as a medium to state and represents that in terms of leadership, men’s and women’s rights are equal—eventhough they are white or black.

Abstract

This research aims to identify form of pastoral narative and ecological criticism in the short story ontology of Temukan Warna Hijau initiated by Reni Erina with using perspective of ecocriticism. This research is a qualitative research using descriptive analysis method. The data in this research are the form of text that refers to formulation of problem about the form of pastoral narratives and ecological criticism in short story ontology of Temukan Warna Hijau, while the data source in this research is short story ontology of Temukan Warna Hijau initiated by Reni Erina and published by PT Elex Media Komputindo at 2014. The data collection technique was done by reading and writing techniques, while the data analysis technique was carried out through the stages of identification, classification, interpretation, and conclusion. The instrument in this research is writer oriented to research on form of pastoral narratives and ecological criticism. Based on result of research, in short stories ontology of Temukan Warna Hijau, was found in presence of pastoral narratives (environmental wisdom) shown by the figures, such as affection and concern for nature, respect for nature, and an attitude of responsibility towards nature. In addition, in the short stories ontology of Temukan Warna Hijau also found ecological criticism in the form of river acosystems pollution, extinction of living things in an ecosystem, and illegal logging.

Abstract

This study aims to elaborate formulas in the movie Aladdin. The theories are the cultural production arena by Bourdieu and Disney's "princess" movie formula. This study used a qualitative descriptive method, with library research techniques as technique of collecting data. There are two data sources. The primary data which was the movie Aladdin and secondary data is the theories. The data analyzed by rereading and using the secondary data as the perspectives. The data will be presented specifically in form of words and narratives. The result of this study showed that Aladdin was a popular product that can be proved by the movie’s income which labeled box office and the movie also was the 5th successful remake movie. The success of the movie cannot be happened without the Disney marketing strategy, they knows how to analyze the market demand at time. In the Aladdin movie there was the same movie’s formulas as the other Disney’s but it was showed the feminism’s atmosphere too. Like, in the Jasmine’s characters, how the story end, the song with feminism nuances and also Jafar as the male villain was eliminated the stigma of an evil character that used to play by female characters.
