Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Operating Expenses to Operating Income (BOPO), Equity to Total Assets Ratio (EAR), Loan to Assets Ratio (LAR) and firm size on Return on Assets (ROA). This study used four independent variables, namely BOPO, EAR, LAR, and firm size, with one dependent variable is Return on Assets (ROA). Sampling technique used was purposive sampling criteria (1) banking company listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange and has the most complete financial statements and have been published in the Bank Indonesia during the observation period from 2008 to 2011, (2) conventional commercial banks have already listing before the end observation period. Data obtained by the publication of financial statements listed on the website of Bank Indonesia. Obtained the sample of 12 companies. Analysis technique used is multiple regression, the assumptions of classical test and test hypotheses using t-statistics, testing the coefficient of determination and F-statistics to test the effect of the joint - the same as the level of significance of 5%. It also tested the classical assumptions that included tests of normality, multicollinearity test, test of heteroscedasticity, and autocorrelation test. Based on the results of data analysis, showed that: BOPO variables, firm size, loan to Assets Ratio (LAR) has a positive and significant impact on Return on Assets (ROA). The variable Equity to Total Assets Ratio (EAR) has a negative effect but not significant and have the smallest impact on Return on Assets (ROA).

Abstract

       The development of the digital era makes it easier for individuals to do music piracy. This gives a big loss for musicians and companies engaged in the music industry. The music streaming service or MSS present gives individuals the option to consume music in a legal way, MSS has two business models, users can listen to music for free with low quality and ad breaks. And users can subscribe by getting more facilities like higher voice quality and without ad breaks, but previous research results state that users of free music streaming services can be associated with piracy. The purpose of this study is to analyze the acceptance of benefits, the value of profit and subjective norms on the interest to buy back paid music streaming service studies on the students of economics faculty and business university diponegoro.       The population in this study are active students faculty of economics and business university diponegoro sorted by sampling method. The sample used to represent the population has a total of 150 samples, which consists of 52 management majors, 49 accounting majors, 33 iesp majors and 15 Islamic economics majors.        The results of the study found that perceived usefulness had positive and significant effect on the repurchase intention, the perceived value had positive and significant effect on the repurchase intention, and subjective norm have positive and significant influence on the repurchase intention.

Abstract

Bank and risk couldn’t be separated. Activities of the bank always contain risk for bank. Bank could take a higher risk to reach the bank earning desire. High risk-taking that bank took will impact to high bank earning volatility. Bank earning volatility will cause uncertainty of bank capital.Bank earning volatility in this study measured by standard deviation of ROA bank. This study used Fixed Effect Analysis Regression for panel data. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of firm size, market concentration, cost to income ratio, leverage, and divercification to bank earning volatility. The result of this study is firm size has positive effect and significant to bank earning volatility. Market Concentration has negative effect and significant to bank earning volatility. Cost to income has positive effect, but not significant significant to bank earning volatility. Leverage and divercification have negative effect but not significant significant to bank earning volatility.

Abstract

Problems that occur in the PT. Pupuk Sriwijaya Palembang is a decrease in employee productivity. It is shown from a decrease in the production target of PT. Pupuk Sriwijaya Palembang where production achievement never reached the target set by the company. Decrease in employee's productivity is thought to be caused due to several factors namely direct compensation, indirect compensation, occupational safety and health. This study aimed to analyze the influence of direct compensation, indirect compensation, occupational safety and health on employee productivity PT. Pupuk Sriwijaya Palembang.The population used in this study employees of PT. Pupuk Sriwijaya Palembang. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. Criteria samples taken is the production employees of PT. Pupuk Sriwijaya Palembang who have worked at least three years amounted to 118 employees. Methods of data collection in this study using questionnaires and interviews. Methods of data analysis using multiple linear regression analysis.Based on this research, direct compensation, indirect compensation, occupational safety and health a positive effect on employee productivity PT. Pupuk Sriwijaya Palembang. Productivity of labor was explained by direct compensation, indirect compensation, and occupational health and safety amounted to 74.4%.

Abstract

This  research  was  aimed  to  examine  empirically:  (1)  The  influence  of  earningsmanagement to CSR disclosure (2) The role of corporate governance mechanism as moderating variable  in  the  relationship  between  earnings  management  and  CSR  disclosure.  Corporategovernance mechanism was analyzed by proportion of independent commissioner, the number ofaudit committee meetings and board size. Earnings management was measured by discretionary accruals use Modified Jones Model and the extent of CSR was measured used corporate social reporting index (CSRI) based on Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) reporting standard items which were disclosed in companies annual report. This research used samples of company listed on Indonesia Stock Exchange 2012-2013. Data obtained from annual reports and sustainable reports of manufacturing companies listed on the IDX. There are 65 companies among 2012-2013 which fulfilling. The method of analysis of this research was multiple regression. This method was chosen because the independent variables are more than one and all the data of the variables are metric.This reseach found no significant statistical effect from various measurement of earnings management to CSR disclosure. The research also found there is no significant effect on proportion of independent commissioner, board size, and the number of audit committee meetings in relationship between earnings management and CSR disclosure. This research concluded that CSR is  driven  by  the  desire  to  meet  the  expectation  of  stakeholders  and  not  due  to  earnings management.  In  addition, the  formation  of the  board  of  commissioners  need  to  consider  the composition of ability and integrity of the members so that they can perform the function of monitoring, control and able to provide direction to management as well.

Abstract

Corporate value is very important especially for those companies go public. Corporate value can be reflected through the stock market price. The higher the price the higher the stock market value of the company. In the long term, the company's goal is to optimize company’s value. Based on previous research, there is research gap on what factors that affecting corporate value at the corporate minning. The aim of this study was to analyze factors affecting company’s value at a mining company listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2009-2014.The study population was all financial data of companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2009-2014. The sampling method used in this research is purposive sampling method. The sample used in this study is a mining company listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2009-2014. The analysis technique used is multiple linear regression analysis.Based on the results ROA and DER positively influence company’s value while NPM, DPR and firm size does not affect company’s value. Based Adjusted R Square, the coefficient of determination of this study is 0.231, this means that the variations in company’s value can be explained by the independent variable by 23.1%.

Abstract

Tokopedia is one of the marketplace that stands in Indonesia. In January and March 2018 Tokopedia experienced a decrease in the number of visitors. This decrease in the number of visitors resulted in a decrease in Tokopedia sales as well. Thus, the Tokopedia marketing must carry out a strategy to increase its sales again. Impulsive buying are things that need to be considered to increase sales in Tokopedia.This research was conducted to find out what factors can increase impulsive buying in Tokopedia. Factors tested in this study include shopping adventure, value shopping, idea shopping, social shopping and relaxation shopping. Data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires to 140 respondents who had shopped on Tokopedia. Sampling using non-probability method with convenience sampling approach. The analysis method uses multiple analysis techniques.The results shown in this study are motivations for adventure shopping, value shopping, and relaxation shopping with a significant positive effect on impulsive buying variables. Whereas for idea shopping motivation and social shopping is known to have no significant influence on impulsive buying.

Abstract

Hedging by using derivative instruments is one of the common risk management used by company to protect their assets from risk of exchange rate and interest rates. This study aimed to determine the effect of liquidity, firm size, the  growth opportunity, financial distress, leverage and managerial ownership on hedging activity using derivative instruments at non-financial companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2010-2014.The population of the study is a data non-financial companies listed on Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2010-2014 The sample in this study amounted to 93 companies by using purposive sampling. This study using logistic regression analysis techniques, to determine the variables that affect of the use of derivative instruments as hedging activity.The results of this study showed that there are three variables that affect significantly hedging activity using derivative instruments. Variable firm size and leverage have positive affect on hedging activity using derivative instruments, and variable financial distress have negative affect on hedging activity using derivative instruments. Whereas for the other variables did not influence the hedging activity using derivative instruments.

Abstract

There are some variety of corporate action policy that corporate is able to influence the number of outstanding shares, and share’s value to attract the investor. One of the corporate action is stock split. Stock split is splitting shares amount by splitting the shares volume to generate the cheaper price of shares and increase the share volume. This research conducted to verify the relationship between stock split and abnormal return of share using market adjusted model and trading volume activity using the wilcoxon rank signed test on the event window which is 5 day before and 5 day after the stock split announcement day. This research use the event study with the Independent Sample t-test and normality tes as the method. The research shows that the stock split announcement doesn’t give difference significantly for the abnormal return, however the effect of stock split is significantly negative to trading volume activity. There are some alteration in the amount of abnormal return, but the amount is not significant. On the other hand, the trading volume activity show the significant changes. The amount slightly go down into negative side after the stock split.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the influence of experiential marketing to customers satisfaction of  Sop Buah “X” in Semarang on Tembalang nearby Universitas Diponegoro. This research consists of dependent variable which is customer satisfaction (Y) and five independent variables which are experiential marketing consists of sense (X1), feel (X2), think (X3 ) , act (X4) and relate (X5). The population of the research is the customer of Sop Buah “X” who have purchased more than two times with a sample of 100 respondents. The sampling technique that is used in this research is purposive sampling (judgement sampling), then the data was processed by multiple regression analysisThere were five hypotheses being tested in this study, all of them are acceptable. This condition  indicates  that  all  of  five  variables  have  positive  influence  on  the  application  ofexperiential marketing on customers satisfaction of Sop Buah “X” in Semarang, namely: sense, feel, think, act and relate. The result shows that the research model can be accepted. Adjusted R square showed at moderate level 52,4 %. It mean 47,6 % was explained by other factor which were not examined in this search.
