Abstract

The purpose of this research is to identify the effect of surfactants on the loss of mold found in the crust skin of the cabretta golf glove article. The raw materials used are 2 sheets of moldy cabretta golf glove article crust, with an average thickness for trial 1 0,54 mm, and trial 2 0,52 mm. The chemicals used are water, Peramit MLN, Preventol CR, and Formic Acid. The method used in trials 1 and 2 carried out skin washing with a surfactant concentration of 0,1% and 0,2%, activities carried out with washing within 30 minutes. Organoleptic test results in both trials, the fungus was lost but with little trace. In addition, in trial 1's skin has a fairly flat color, a non- leakable state of nerves, and a tightness to the standards. Trial 2 skin has a flat color, a non- leaking nerf, and a tightness to the standards. The physical test results show skin softness values are 6,4 mm (trial 1) and 6,6 mm (trial 2). The conclusion is that using 0,1% surfactant, it can reduce the defect present in the skin of the article cabretta golf glove but with little trace and the softness remains up to standards.

Abstract

Currently sports shoes successfully attract a lot of consumers. Sports shoes were originally designed to support sports activities and reduce the risk of injury when doing sports. Nowadays, sports shoes are starting to be designed by adding an aesthetic value that increases fashion value. However, even though sports shoes have started to appear aesthetics side, the quality of the shoes is also an important factor when the shoes are used. To maintain the quality of shoes, it is necessary to test the quality of shoes. One of the important tests is organoleptic testing. The organoleptic testing can be carried out by following the requirements in accordance with SNI 12- 7072-2005 concerning fitness sports shoes with synthetic soles with a glue system, SNI 12-7075- 2005 about sports shoes with printed soles with a glue system, SNI 12-7195- 2006 about glue system jogging sports shoes, and SNI 12-7196-2006 concerning cross-country sports shoes. Several things that need to be considered are design aesthetics and workmanship inspection. This research focuses on conducting organoleptic test on eleven samples of sports shoes. Based on the results of tests that have been carried out based on SNI for sports shoes, there are several defects in five pairs of shoes.

Abstract

Location and mechanism of leather storage that is not ideal can cause changes in the character of the old stock leather. One of the effects that is often found when storing finished leather is reducing skin softness. The conventional method of increasing leather softness of old stock is through a mechanical staking process. Staking will only be effective in softening the leather if the leather has enough oil content, if it doesn't have enough oil content it will potentially cause cracks in the grain. In this study, control leather (K) was only given mechanical treatment. Meanwhile, for treatment leather (T), the mechanical process is carried out before and after adding mayonnaise oil using a rubbing method on the flesh to maximize the oil lubrication effect on old stock leather. The use of anionic oil, mayonnaise oil, which is applied to the flesh of the skin using the wiping method on T skin, produces a higher difference in the increase in softness, namely 0.5 mm, when compared to K leather which only undergoes a mechanical process (staking and toggling), namely 0.3 mm. This shows that the addition of mayonnaise oil and emulsifier to the flesh is able to re-lubricate the leather fibers thereby increasing skin laxity.

Abstract

Footwear industry in Taiwan is a large industry that supplies about 50% of the world's shoe needs. It has a positive impact on the economy, but it is also a special concern about its environmental impact, especially on air quality in Taiwan. This study aims to investigate the air quality in the footwear industrial park in Taipei City using the Taiwan Air Quality Monitoring Network (TAQMN). This study collected data from outdoor air quality measurements in the footwear industrial park in Taipei City using the Air Quality Monitoring System (AQMS) and determined its characteristics. Data were collected for 12 days from one of the stations in Datong District by monitoring the levels of major pollutants including nitrogen dioxide (NO2), carbon monoxide (CO), ozone (O3), sulfur dioxide (SO2), PM2.5 and PM10. The results show that the air quality in footwear industries has levels of PM2.5, PM10, and NO2 that exceed the thresholds set by the WHO. This has a negative impact on respiratory health and is an urgent public health issue. Factors of activity in the footwear industry, transportation, and weather patterns have important roles that determine the air quality in this region. A deep understanding of the air quality in this region is expected to provide a basis for more effective and targeted environmental policy planning to improve air quality and people's well-being in the city of Taipei.

Abstract

We often encounter injection plastic products around us. Some of the advantages of plastic materials are lightweight, flexible, multipurpose, strong, not reacting, not rusty, thermoplastic (heat seal), can be colored and the price is cheap. The production process that is often used in the plastic industry is Injection Molding. In the Injection Molding process, the determination of machine parameter settings greatly affects the quality of production results. Determination of the right parameter settings can reduce the defect on the resulting product. This research was made as an effort to reduce the percentage of defects in the injection molding process with the Taguchi method. The research was conducted at the Plastic Workshop of ATK Polytechnic Yogyakarta using an Injection Molding machine type SM 90 HCV. The raw material used in this study is High-density polyethylene (HDPE) with the resulting product output in the form of packaging boxes. This study was conducted with testing samples of 90 packaged products. Based on this research, the results were obtained, among others, in the injection molding production process resulting in minimal defect values at the setting of Injection Speed level 1 10%, Injection Pressure level 3 150 bar, Plastisification (Position) level 3 180 mm and Temperature level 3 2400C. Interpretation of the results of the confirmation experiment for mean values is acceptable in consideration of the confidence interval that the results of the confirmatory experiment are smaller than the optimal results. With this, it can be concluded that this research can be implemented to improve the quality of packaging products for the Injection Molding Process.

Abstract

Pattern is an important component in the shoe making process. The suitability of the pattern in making shoes will affect the comfort of wearing when the shoes are used. This is because the pattern is made from a shoe last, so the pattern takes the size details from the shoe last used. However, in practice, patterns are sometimes used to make shoes of different sizes. Based on this problem, it is necessary to conduct research regarding the application of pattern conformity to the use of shoe last that have different heights. The method used in this research is an experimental method. The results of this research are that patterns that do not match will be difficult to use in shoe last that have differences in heel height. So that the use of a pattern that matches the shoe last when making shoes must match the shoe last used in making the pattern.

Abstract

Injection Molding is one of the production processes that is widely used to produce various plastic products. As with other fabrication methods, plastic products produced through the Injection Molding process have the potential to have product defects (defects). This research was carried out to improve the quality of the products produced. The research was conducted in four experiments using HDPE Recycle, HDPE Original, PP and ABS plastic materials with different parameter settings. The parameter settings used include temperature, Injection Speed, Injection Pressure, Holding Speed, Holding Pressure, Rotation Speed, Back Pressure, Plastification Speed, Plastification Pressure, Plastification Potition. In the first experiment using HDPE Recycle material, data was obtained in the form of product defects in Short Shot, Flow Mark, Sink Mark, Warpage. In the second experiment, using Original HDPE material which has better quality than HDPE Recycle because its purity is still maintained, data in the form of defects in Warpage products was obtained. In the third experiment using PP material, Flow Mark and Warpage defects were found in the resulting product. In the fourth experiment using ABS material, defects in Short Shot and Flow Mark were found. From this study, it is known that each material has different properties and qualities so that the setting of injection machine parameters must be adjusted to the material used. From the parameters used in each of these experiments, product defects that arise are also known so that the right solution can be found to overcome the product defect.

Abstract

The aim of the research is to upgrade goat crust leather which was declared rejected to be made into batting glove articles with digital matrix embossed motifs, so as to increase the quality and selling value of the leather. Rejected leather is leather that does not meet the specifications of the intended article, for example defects, thickness and area. The digital matrix motif has a 3D pattern, so apart from adding aesthetic value, the digital matrix application on batting gloves also increases user comfort. The raw materials used were 4 pieces of crust reject leather which had wrinkles, ticks, fleas and coarse grain defects. Repairs were carried out using 2 methods, namely 3 skins using method A (re-process retanning, finishing, re-fatliquoring) and 1 skin using method B (finishing, re-fatliquoring). Testing is carried out physically. The results of physical testing showed that skin using method B was better in the elongation test (52.3%>49.5%) and softness (6.1mm>5.4mm). The results of the skin color fastness test using method A have better scores, namely 4/5 for dry paint rubbing resistance (staining and change in color) and 3/4 (staining and change in color) for wet paint rubbing resistance.

Abstract

The era of globalization has caused foreign products/cultures to enter Indonesia, this has made local batik and leather crafts ready to compete and develop. This research aims to preserve kawung batik culture and leather crafts so that they are competitive in local and international markets. The Research and Development (R&D) method is considered the most appropriate because it consists of research, planning, and product development stages. The results of the research stage selected kawung beton batik because it has the best philosophy and aesthetics. Kawung beton has a philosophy and awareness that good deeds should not be displayed/flexed because they can cause body dysmorphia/anxiety in society. The analysis results at the planning and product development stage showed that wearable and streetwear-style clothing products are by the character of Gen Z consumers who are brave, assertive, rebellious, indifferent, and prioritize comfort. This recommended design for a combination of leather and batik materials is liked by Gen Z consumers so that efforts to preserve culture and leather MSMEs can further develop and compete in the market.

Abstract

Financial reports are needed as accountability for the financial management carried out by the company, which provides various information that is useful for evaluating company performance. The study aims to identify and analyze financial ratios in the footwear sub-industry listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange to obtain an overview of the company's financial performance. The data used in this study are secondary data in the form of company financial reports. Purposive sampling is used in this study, namely using the footwear industry sub-sector consisting of two companies, namely PT Sepatu Bata, Tbk and PT Primarindo Asia Infrastructure, Tbk. The data analysis method used is a comparative descriptive method, namely by describing and comparing certain characteristics or variables to obtain an overview and understanding of the problems studied. By using financial ratio analysis in the form of liquidity ratios and solvency ratios, it is found that both companies have liquidity ratios that tend to decrease as indicated by the calculation of the current ratio and acid test (or quick) ratio whose values ​​tend to decrease during the observation period, indicating that the company's ability tends to decrease to settle its short-term obligations. The solvency ratios used are the debt-to-equity ratio and the debt-to-total-assets ratio which show calculation results that tend to increase during the observation period, indicating that the company's financing carried out by creditors tends to increase in amount.
