AbstractThe aims of study are to analyze and evaluate the impact of COVID-19 outbreak on Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) performance before, during, and after the official announcement day on March 2nd, 2020. Five industry sectors were observed, i.e agriculture, property, manufacture, consumer, and mining sector. Event study analysis method is used to value the short-term influence of the announcement day on the selected stock market performance in Indonesia. The findings of the study indicated that manufacturing and consumer sectors had better stock performance with positive results of their abnormal return, unlike the agriculture and property sectors which showed the opposite result of their stock performance. The stock performance in the mining sector remained stable even after the announcement day. Indonesian Government, particularly the companies’ management, is expected to pay more attention to the aggrieved industries because of the negative effect of outbreaks, especially on the agriculture and property sector. This study aims to analyze the impact of the Indonesia-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement (IJEPA) bilateral trade agreement on Indonesia's export value in the long term. The secondary data time series used for the research is from 2005Q1 to 2019Q4, and the research method employed is the VECM (Vector Error Correction Model). The results of the VECM analysis show that the IJEP bilateral agreement has a significant negative effect, the inflation variable has a significant positive effect, and the FDI and exchange rate variables have a negative but not significant effect on the value of Indonesia's exports to Japan. Implementation of the recommended policies to increase export value and economic growth, namely compliance with product standardization, especially for destination countries, actively and openly providing information related to the IJEPA tariff scheme and utilizing capacity building.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the health service management of provincial hospitals (RSUDs) in Bali from the perspective of local wisdom, especially Tri Kaya Parisuda values and the integration of Tri Kaya Parisuda values with human capital theory (HCT). Structural equation modeling (SEM) was applied as the analysis technique in the study. The results showed that the management of health services at Bali's provincial hospitals was considered satisfactory and in accordance with the existing health service standards, although there were certain staff members who had not provided maximum service. Intellectual intelligence to think properly (manacika), communication equivalent to correct sayings (wacika),  and good employee behavior (kayika) contributed significant effects on the performance and service quality of RSUDs in Bali. This study discovered that the performance and quality of service were more dominantly affected by employee behavior than by intellectual intelligence or communication.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the impact of assistance from the rice program for people experiencing poverty on food security for poor households. The data in this paper are sourced from the fourth (2007) and fifth (2014) Indonesian Family Life Survey (IFLS). A total of 1346 household samples were used in this study. The sample consisted of 401 treatment groups and 945 control groups. The treatment group is poor households that receive Raskin assistance, and the control group is poor households that do not receive Raskin assistance. The analysis used is Propensity Score Matching (PSM) with Difference in Difference (DiD). The study's results prove that the Rice for the Poor program has no significant impact on the proportion of household food expenditure. The interaction between the variables year (after) and treatment (Raskin) has no significant effect on the proportion of household food. The provision of the Raskin program in a longitudinal period has no impact on household per capita food expenditure.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic contributes to the slowdown of Indonesia's economy; therefore, the government provides tax incentives to particular sectors during this pandemic. This research seeks to investigate the influences of the Covid-19 pandemic and tax incentives on tax avoidance. This research uses Multiple Regression Analysis to process research data of firms from consumer financing institutions, insurance firms, and banks listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). We generate the data from IDX's and firms' official websites. This research documents that the Covid-19 pandemic has a significant relationship with tax avoidance, and firms receiving tax incentives during the Covid-19 pandemic are less likely to avoid taxes. In conclusion, during the Covid-19 pandemic, firms tend to avoid taxes to reduce losses and avoid bankruptcy. However, tax incentives given by the government demotivate firms to avoid taxes.
