Abstract

This research is conducted in order to find out what type and the most dominant of translation techniques that used in primary school teacher education department graduate students’ abstracts final project. This research was applied descriptive qualitative method. The subjects of this research were the final project abstract of students in primary school teacher education department. The data of this research was collected by identifying and classifying. The results of the research shows that, there are three types of translation technique used in their abstract. They are literal translation, calque, and borrowing. The translation techniques are categorized into three categories, they are Literal Translation (52 occurrences or 49,52 %), Borrowing (39 occurrences or 37,14 %), and Calque (14 occurrences or 13,33 %). The first most dominant type of translation technique is Literal Translation. It is for about 52 literal translation and the percentage is 49,52%.

Abstract

This research in title “An Analysis Contextual Meaning On “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs”. The problems of this research are: is there any contextual meaning on Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs. The researcher used descriptive qualitative method. The purpose of this research is to know contextual meaning on Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs. In collecting data, the writer concentrates the utterances which contains words which has more than one meaning. The result of the research, there are 20 words with more than one meaning.

Abstract

Code switching is currently very common, both in direct and indirect communication and on social media. This study aims to describe the forms and factors of the use of code switching used on Instagram. Researchers know that there are three types of code switching found on Instagram accounts used by Instagram users, namely: tag switching, intersentential code switching, and intrasetential code switching. Then after analyzing by type, the researcher found the reasons for using code switching there were four points: topic change, lack of vocabulary, bilingual/multilingual, Prestige and trend. Then the researchers used qualitative research methods in conducting the analysis. This research is expected to be useful in the language learning process, especially sociolinguistic studies and language use.

Abstract

This research aims to: (1) examine and describe the code switching and code mixing inside the film Tokyo Fiancée by Stefan Liberski; (2) examine and describe the varieties of utterances code switching and code mixing inside the movie Tokyo Fiancée by Stefan Liberski; (3) discover the influential factors of code switching and code mixing within the movie. Descriptive qualitative became hired as a research layout of this have a look at with records playing cards as the research instruments adapted from the theories of Poplack (1980), Muysken (2000), Suwito (1983, 1985) and Eunhee (2006). The findings of this study at discovered that the film used three languages in oral speech including Japanese, French, and English. Among those oral speeches, there have been sixty nine utterances containing code switching this is protected in 3 types, specifically tagswitching, inter-sentential switching and intra-sentential switching. Then, those 39 utterances protected code mixing this is included in 5 kinds, specifically insertion code mixing, alternation code mixing, congruent lexicalization code mixing, inner code mixing and outer code mixing.

Abstract

This research in title “Politness strategies the use Bald-on Record in the MOANA movie. The problems of this research are: What kinds of Politeness Strategies used Blad-on record by the character in “Moana” & What are the functions of Politeness Strategies Bald-on Record used by the main character in “Moana” movie. The researcher used descriptive qualitative method. The purpose of this research is to identify, classify, analyze the function and types of politeness strategies in used that can be shown in the conversation in the animation movie. In collecting data, the writer concentrates the utterance‟s which contains the politeness strategies produced by the main character in the movie. The result of the research, there are 4 strategies that are used by these 2 characters; bald-on record, positive politeness, negative politeness, and off record. This research foccus in politeness strategies use bald-on record.

Abstract

This research in title “Analysis of Slang Words Used for Comments on Tiktok”. The aim of this research are to analyze slang words on Tiktok and to find out the meaning of these slang. This study is included in descriptive qualitative method. In collecting data, the writer concentrates the comments which contains the slang words produced by netizens. After the researcher analyzed the data, it shows that slang is used for entertainment, just joking/funny, looks contemporary, reduces seriousness in speaking and softens satire. Therefore, research on slang will be able to continue from time to time as a sign that language tends to change.

Abstract

The research entitled “An Analysis of Slang Words Used for Comments on Instagram”. aims to find slang words on Instagram and find out the meaning of these words. The researcher used descriptive qualitative method. Of the 25 slang words studied in this study, the researcher found slang forms which included 11 words in abbreviation, 1 word in shortened form and 13 words in interjection. Based on the results of the research, it shows that slang was thought of as vulgar and street language because it is only used by criminals and the lowest class of society. However, now slang is used by teenagers and certain social classes.
