Abstract

The religious moderation education movement serves as a teaching model aimed at helping the younger generation enhance their understanding and quality of perspectives, attitudes, and life practices rooted in local culture as religious teachings, enabling them to discuss these within the diverse contexts and civilizations of real community life, particularly in Southeast Aceh. The research method used is a phenomenological qualitative study and literature review with descriptive analysis techniques. Research findings: The younger generation does not fully understand the importance of applying the values of religious moderation in a pluralistic and multicultural society and religious context. Young people have not sufficiently understood the values of religious moderation within the context of their respective religious teachings, despite their commitment to applying them in school, their families, and society. We recommend that young people, particularly in Southeast Aceh, receive contextual education on religious moderation.

Abstract

Moral education has a central role in individual character building, especially in Islamic education. However, reality shows the moral decline of the younger generation, including in the educational environment. One of the efforts to overcome this problem is by implementing moral values contained in the works of classical scholars, one of which is the book of Ayyuhal Walad by Imam Al-Ghazali. This study aims to examine the concept of morals in the book of Ayyuhal Walad and analyze its relevance and actualization in the daily lives of santri in pesantren. This research uses a qualitative approach with a type of library research combined with observation, interviews, and documentation at Muhammadiyah Boarding School Bantul 1 (MBS Muhiba), Yogyakarta. The main data comes from the book Ayyuhal Walad and is reinforced with field data from the activities of the santri in the pesantren. The results showed that in the book of Ayyuhal Walad there are six main moral concepts: (1) morals in worshiping Allah, (2) morals towards fellow human beings, (3) morals in studying, (4) morals of educators, (5) morals towards teachers, and (6) guarding oneself from despicable morals. The implementation of these values is reflected in the daily lives of students through the habit of sincere worship, mutual respect, maintaining adab to teachers, enthusiasm for studying, and social behavior based on Islamic values.

Abstract

This study examines the transformative potential of Montessori educational philosophy in reshaping teacher-student relationships and promoting holistic child development. Contemporary educational paradigms increasingly emphasize active student engagement and collaborative teacher-student dynamics, with the Montessori method emerging as a particularly innovative approach. Developed by Dr. Maria Montessori in the early 20th century, this child-centered pedagogy emphasizes learner autonomy, self-directed exploration, and the innate capacity of children to construct their own knowledge within carefully prepared environments. The research addresses critical challenges prevalent in traditional education systems, including ineffective teacher-student communication, low student engagement, insufficient social-emotional support and excessive academic pressure leading to stress and behavioral issues. Through philosophical analysis and comprehensive literature review, this investigation demonstrates how core Montessori principles—including prepared environments, self-directed learning, and mutual respect—can effectively address these systemic challenges. The study's objective include: (1) Identifying the fundamental concepts of Montessori philosophy, (2) Analyzing the main challenges in teacher-student relationships within traditional education systems, (3) Explaining the rationale for selecting Montessori philosophy as the theoretical framework, (4) Exploring how Montessori principles can address teacher-student relationship issues, and (5) Proposing Montessori-based solutions to improve teacher-student relationships. The research concludes with practical recommendations for integrating Montessori principles into mainstream education include: (1) Enhanced communication, (2) Increased student engagement, (3) Improved Social-Emotional Development, (4) Reduced Academic Stress. These proposals aim to create more nurturing educational ecosystems that foster authentic communication, meaningful student engagement, and reduced academic stress. By implementing Montessori-inspired reforms, educational institutions can develop learning environments that not only enhance cognitive outcomes but also support emotional well-being and social development, ultimately preparing students to thrive as confident, self-motivated learners. The study's findings have significant implications for policymakers, school administrators, and teacher educators seeking research-based approaches to improve teacher-student relationships and overall educational quality.

Abstract

The impact of globalization has led to the free entry of Western cultural influences into Indonesia. This development brings both positive and negative effects, especially for the younger generation in the field of education. Students who fail to respond wisely to globalization may experience moral degradation. As the leader in the school environment, the principal holds a significant responsibility in ensuring the success of educational implementation and plays an essential role in shaping students' character through school-based moral development programs to counter the negative effects of rapid globalization. This study focuses on three research questions: (1) What is the current condition of students' moral character at SMAIT Darul Rasyid Lampung Timur? (2) What is the role of the principal in shaping students’ character at SMAIT Darul Rasyid Lampung Timur? (3) What are the supporting and inhibiting factors in the moral development of students at SMAIT Darul Rasyid Lampung Timur? This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through documentation, observation, and interviews. The data were then analyzed by interpreting the collected information to draw meaningful conclusions. The results of the study indicate that the moral condition of students at SMAIT Darul Rasyid still presents several issues, particularly regarding student discipline in implementing the 5S culture (Smile, Greet, Salute, Politeness, and Courtesy). The principal plays a vital role in shaping students’ morals through school culture, which includes seven leadership roles: as an educator, by providing moral advice during flag ceremonies; as a manager, by implementing management functions (POAC) through programs such as Dhuha prayer, short religious talks (kultum), Qur'an recitation, prayer routines, and ceremonies aligned with the school’s vision and mission; as an administrator, by recording student violations in a disciplinary logbook; as a supervisor, by monitoring teachers’ implementation of daily prayers and student pledges; as a leader, by delegating authority and leading activities such as Dhuha prayer and flag ceremonies; as an innovator, by scheduling regular moral development activities; and as a motivator, by encouraging teachers and staff during ceremonial events. The supporting factors in students’ moral development through school culture include teacher involvement and community support, while the inhibiting factors involve students’ individual personalities and limited knowledge about moral and ethical values (akhlaqul karimah)

Abstract

Hadith studies are a crucial field in Islamic scholarship, requiring meticulous methods for validating and verifying the matan (text) and sanad (chain of transmission). With the advancement of time, digital technology has significantly impacted various fields of knowledge, including hadith studies. The use of digital technology, such as hadith software, digital databases, and text search applications, has facilitated the process of collecting, classifying, and analyzing hadith. This technology enables quick access to primary hadith sources scattered across different locations, and it helps researchers analyze both sanad and matan more efficiently. This study aims to examine how digital technology is used in various aspects of hadith studies, such as data collection, information management, and the verification of sanad and matan authenticity. It also explores the benefits and challenges faced by scholars and researchers in utilizing this technology, including the role of hadith software and digital databases in enhancing academic research. The study concludes that while digital technology offers significant advantages in improving the efficiency and accuracy of hadith studies, challenges related to data accuracy, information management, and accessibility still require further attention.
