Abstract

Islamic Religious Education at the junior secondary school level plays an important role in shaping students’ Qur’anic literacy, understanding of worship, and religious character. However, the development of digital culture requires religious learning to be carried out through more creative, participatory, and contextual strategies so that the material does not remain limited to the cognitive aspect, but is also internalized in students’ religious behavior. This study aims to analyze the planning, implementation, supporting and inhibiting factors, as well as solutions to the obstacles in implementing innovative learning strategies in Islamic Religious Education at SMP Negeri 3 Lubuk Pakam. This study used a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving the principal, Islamic Religious Education teachers, and students as informants. Data analysis was carried out through data collection, data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. Data validity was tested through source and method triangulation. The results show that innovative learning strategies in Islamic Religious Education were implemented through the use of digital media, learning gamification, project-based learning, flipped classroom, blended learning, cooperative learning, and contextual approaches based on local culture. The implementation of these strategies gradually improved students’ learning interest, Qur’anic reading ability, understanding of worship, and the formation of morals and religious character. Supporting factors included school support, the use of digital technology, student enthusiasm, and teacher collaboration with the surrounding environment. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors included limited facilities and infrastructure, low digital literacy among some teachers, limited learning time, and the negative influence of social media. The solutions included teacher training, the use of simple digital-based learning media, strengthening collaboration between schools and parents, and implementing more creative, participatory, and contextual learning according to students’ needs in the digital era.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the inconsistency of religious practice among converts (muallaf) and explore tolerance education strategies as efforts to achieve family harmony. Religious conversion often brings significant psychological, social, and familial adjustments, particularly in pluralistic societies. In many cases, converts experience fluctuating religious commitment due to identity reconstruction, social pressure, and limited support systems. These inconsistencies may trigger tension within families, especially in interfaith or culturally diverse contexts. This research employs a qualitative approach using a case study design involving converts and their families in Indonesia. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis. The findings reveal that religious inconsistency is influenced by emotional instability, limited religious literacy, social stigma, and inadequate family communication. The study further identifies that tolerance based education strategies such as dialogical communication, inclusive religious understanding, and family-based value reinforcement significantly contribute to strengthening emotional bonds and maintaining family harmony. This research recommends integrating structured tolerance education programs within family and community religious guidance frameworks.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the psychological conditions of spouses following divorce mediation at the Religious Court of Temanggung and to examine the urgency of emotional education within the family from the perspective of Islamic family law. The study employed a qualitative empirical approach, with data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation and analyzed descriptively. The findings indicate that divorce mediation has been implemented in accordance with applicable legal procedures but has not fully achieved reconciliation due to the high emotional conflict experienced by the parties. Post-mediation psychological impacts include stress, anxiety, and feelings of loss, while social support contributes significantly to psychological adjustment and recovery. From the perspective of Islamic family law, mediation serves not only as a dispute-resolution mechanism but also as an instrument for preserving family welfare. Therefore, emotional education within the family is essential for strengthening communication skills, emotional management, and constructive conflict resolution. This study recommends the development of a psychology-based mediation model integrated with family emotional education.

Abstract

Islamic religious education (IRE) is oriented not merely toward cognitive mastery but, more fundamentally, toward the internalization of values and inner attitudes that constitute the affective domain, among which tawakkal (trust in God) is central. However, the assessment of affective outcomes in IRE remains dominated by cognitive approaches, and measurement tools rooted directly in the Islamic intellectual tradition (turats) are still scarce. This study aims to test the validity and reliability of a tawakkal instrument derived from the eight degrees of tawakkal formulated by Ibn Qayyim al-Jauziyyah in Madarij as-Salikin. The instrument consists of thirty items distributed across eight dimensions—Ma'rifatullah, Itsbatul Asbab, Tauhid Qalbi, I'timad and Sukun, Husnu Zhan, Istislamul Qalb, Tafwidh, and Ridha—using a five-point Likert scale with eight reverse-scored items. The instrument was administered to 128 female students of Islamic Education and Arabic Education study programs. Data were analyzed through corrected item-total correlation for item validity, the Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin (KMO) measure and Bartlett's test of sphericity for sampling adequacy, and Cronbach's alpha for internal-consistency reliability. The results show a KMO value of 0.859 and a significant Bartlett's test (p < 0.001), indicating that the data are adequate for analysis. Twenty-eight of the thirty items met the validity criterion of corrected item-total correlation above 0.30 (range 0.203 to 0.691), while all items exceeded the critical r-table value of 0.1736. The overall instrument reliability was excellent, with Cronbach's alpha of 0.895, although the per-dimension coefficients were more modest because of the small number of items per subscale. Respondents exhibited a high level of tawakkal (item mean = 4.26 on a five-point scale). The study concludes that the tawakkal instrument grounded in Ibn Qayyim's framework is valid and reliable as a whole and is feasible for use as an instrument to assess the affective achievement of IRE, with a recommendation for further confirmatory factor analysis on a larger sample.

Abstract

he rapid development of digital technology has significantly transformed educational systems, including Islamic education. Digital native generations, who were born and raised in a digital environment, possess distinct learning characteristics, behaviors, and educational needs compared to previous generations. This study aims to examine the challenges of Islamic education among digital native students by focusing on morality, religious literacy, and technology-based learning. A quantitative survey approach was employed in this study. The population consisted of 236 students enrolled in Integrated Islamic Elementary Schools (SDIT) in Pekanbaru, all of whom were selected as research participants through a total sampling technique. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed through descriptive statistics and multiple linear regression using SPSS software. The findings reveal that students demonstrated high levels of morality, religious literacy, and technology-based learning engagement. Regression analysis indicated that morality, religious literacy, and technology-based learning significantly influenced Islamic education challenges, both partially and simultaneously. Morality emerged as the most dominant predictor. These findings suggest that Islamic education in the digital era requires the integration of character development, religious literacy enhancement, and technology utilization grounded in Islamic values. This study contributes to the development of an adaptive Islamic education model capable of responding to digital transformation while preserving students’ moral and spiritual foundations..

Abstract

The Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning process is often dominated by conventional teacher-centered methods, resulting in low student engagement and activeness in the classroom. To address this problem, an innovative learning model is needed that shifts the focus of learning to the students (student-centered), one of which is the Student Facilitator and Explainer (SFAE) model. This study aims to analyze and identify the effectiveness of implementing the SFAE learning model in increasing student learning activeness, specifically in Islamic Religious Education. This study used the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method. The data collection process was carried out by screening and analyzing relevant scientific articles from 2020 to 2025 that examined the implementation of the SFAE model in Islamic Religious Education learning clusters such as Fiqh, Akidah Akhlak, and Al-Qur'an Hadith. The findings from the literature review indicate that the SFAE model has been significantly effective in boosting student learning activeness in the classroom. The transformation of students' roles into facilitators who re-explain material to their peers encourages dynamic, communicative, and collaborative learning interactions. Students have been shown to be more confident in discussions, asking questions, responding to stimuli, and presenting their thoughts. Furthermore, this increased activeness is directly proportional to strengthened motivation, self-confidence, and critical thinking skills, and has a positive impact on achieving optimal cognitive learning outcomes. Therefore, the SFAE learning model is a highly valid and effective innovative strategy for transforming Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning environments to be more interactive, participatory, and student-centered.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low independence and fine motor skills of group B children at RA An Najiha Bedaro Muko-Muko Bathin VII Bungo, which can be seen from the fact that there are still many children who need the help of teachers in simple dress activities. This condition shows that the learning that takes place has not fully provided concrete, active, and in accordance with the characteristics of early childhood. This study aims to analyze efforts to develop children's independence and fine motor skills through educational dressing frame activities. The method used is classroom action research with the Kemmis and McTaggart models which is carried out in two cycles through the stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects amounted to 20 children of group B. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and performance tests, then analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. The results of the study showed that educational dressing frame activities were able to increase children's involvement, courage to try, responsibility in completing tasks, and finger, hand, and eye coordination skills. Thus, it can be concluded that the educational dressing frame is effectively used as a learning medium to increase the independence and fine motor skills of early childhood gradually, measurably, and in a contextual manner.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low curiosity of grade II students of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah, which is still characterized by a passive attitude, dependence on teachers' explanations, and limited courage to ask questions in the learning process. This study aims to describe the application of Qur'an-based learning together, analyze its role in fostering students' curiosity, and identify the supporting and inhibiting factors of its implementation. The research uses the Classroom Action Research approach with the Kemmis and McTaggart model, which includes planning, action execution, observation, and reflection. The subject of the study was a second-grade student of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Alam Ya Bunayya Bungo, with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, documentation, and field notes. The results of the study show that the Qur'an-based learning strategy can be applied systematically through the use of the environment as a learning resource, the integration of Qur'anic verses, and the use of experimental methods. This strategy has been proven to foster students' curiosity, which is seen in increased attention, courage to ask questions, activeness in observing, and involvement in learning activities. The success of the implementation is supported by an adequate learning environment, teacher readiness, and an open learning atmosphere, although obstacles in the form of passive learning habits and technical obstacles in the field are still found. It was concluded that Qur'an-based learning with nature was effectively developed as a contextual and spiritual learning strategy to foster the curiosity of madrasah ibtidaiyah students.
