Abstract

The lack of concern toward critical thinking skills affect the low rate of students? critical thinking skills. The research aim to describe the response of high school students toward guided inquiry type in improving students? critical thinking skills. This research conducted in 3 experiment classes of SMAN 1 Ngronggot. Instrument used in this research is response sheet contains 10 points of response. Data collected by giving response sheet to all students in three experiment classes after guided inquiry type pictorial riddle applied in learning. Collected data then analysed by response sheet analysis. Results show that based on response sheet analysis, students? response toward the implementation of guided inquiry type pictorial riddle in improving critical thinking skills is in very good category. Abstract

In the 21st century students are required to have learning skills and innovation. One of the learning skills is critical thinking skills (CTS). Guided Inquiry is one of the learning model that able to develop CTS students through its learning syntax. This study aims to describe the quality of learning implementation and improvement of CTS. The enhanced CTS includes indicators of interpretation, analysis, evaluation, inference, and explanation. The research design is pre-experimental with one-group pretest-posttest design. The subjects of the study are students of class XI MIA 8 and XI MIA 7 SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Surabaya. The improvement of CTS was analyzed using paired t-test and normalized gain-score analysis. The results showed that the guided inquiry implementation is 100% with good criteria and CTS improved significantly with gain score categorized as medium. Abstract

Learning conventional cause interest students to learning physics is low. This research aims to describe student?s response in problem based learning. The type of research is pre-experimental design with quantitative descriptive analysis. The subject is 93 students in SMAN 1 Taman divided by three class are X MIA 2, X MIA 4, X MIA 5 that selected on random sampling. The instrument is questionnaire responses form were filled by students after receive learning. The data analyzed by percentage response from amount score each aspect and categorized based on Likert scale. The results show that response students to problem based learning categorized in good with the average 72,6% and could improve the interesting of critical thinking skills.Keywords: Problem Based Learning, Student?s Response, Critical Thinking

Abstract

Student worksheet is procedural sheets which are often used in learning as guide in the form of tasks or activities undertaken by learners. Besides, guided inquiry is learning model which aims to give space for the students so they are able to construct their thinking skills, one of them is critical thinking skill. This study aims to (i) determine the validity of guided inquiry based student worksheet to increase the students? critical thinking skills, (ii) determine the practicality of guided inquiry based student worksheet to increase the students? critical thinking skills, and (iii) determine the effectiveness of guided inquiry based student worksheet to increase the students? critical thinking skills. This study is a development study using ADDIE Model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) with subject of trial as many as 24 students in 10th science class, Senior High School 1 Sampang. From this study, it was found that (i) guided inquiry based student worksheet to increase critical thinking skills that has been developed is very valid to be used in learning with percentage in general 86,1%, (ii) the student worksheet is practical in terms of the learning activities result and the students? activities with percentages respectively 90,6% and 84,5%, and (iii) student worksheet which has been developed is effective in terms of critical thinking skills test result with n-gain score 0,78 which belongs to high category and the students? responses with average percentage 88,6%. Abstract

This present research aims at analyzing validity, practicality, and effectiveness of Students? Worksheet based guided inquiry to train students? skill of science process in simple harmonic motion material. This research is developing research using ADDIE model and it is compiled using One Group Pretest Posttest. The data collection techniques used were observation, questionnaire, and test. The data were analyzed through the implementation of learning, students? activity, students? responses, and students? test result of science process skill. The result of this research shows that: (1) the developed Students? Worksheet is valid in terms of guidance criteria, eligibility of content, procedures, and questions. (2) The developed Students? Worksheet is practical in terms of average score of learning implementation, students? activity observation, and questionnaire of students? responses that showed felicitous criteria. (3) The developed Students? Worksheet is effective in terms of the result of knowledge test and the skill of science process which has reached the percentage of classical mastery over 75%. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan keterlaksanaan pembelajaran dan melatihkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah di kelas X MIA SMA Khadijah Surabaya. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian pre-experimental dengan desain penelitian one-group pretest-posttest. Sasaran penelitian yakni kelas X MIA 1 sebagai kelas eksperimen, X MIA 2 sebagai kelas replikasi 1 dan X MIA 3 sebagai replikasi 2. Variabel dalam penelitian meliputi variabel manipulasi yaitu model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing yang didalamnya terdapat kemampuan berliterasi sains, variabel respon yaitu keterlaksanaan pembelajaran, dan kemampuan pemecahan masalah, serta variabel kontrol yaitu guru, waktu, perangkat pembelajaran dan materi. Metode pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini yaitu metode observasi dan tes. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keterlaksanaan pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing pada tahap pendahuluan, kegiatan inti, penutup, alokasi waktu dan suasana kelas terlaksana dengan rata-rata 3,40 dengan kategori baik dengan percentage of agreement sebesar 96,45% yang berada dalam kategori sangat tinggi. Kemampuan pemecahan masalah menunjukkan peningkatan dalam kategori sedang, yakni kelas X MIA 1 dengan nilai <g> sebesar 0,64, kelas X MIA 2 dengan nilai <g> sebesar 0,63 dan X MIA 3 dengan nilai <g> sebesar 0,66, yang dianalisis dengan n-gain score. Berdasarkan analisis uji t-berpasangan diketahui bahwa terjadi peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah yang signifikan antara kelas eksperimen dan replikasi. Simpulan dari penelitian ini, penerapan model inkuiri terbimbing dapat digunakan untuk melatihkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah peserta didik di kelas X MIA SMA Khadijah Surabaya pada pokok bahasan usaha dan energi. Abstract

This research aims to know the influence of guided inquiry learning process to improve critical thinking skills of the student on 11st grade with dynamic fluid material. Kind of this research that be used is quasi experimental with pre-test post-test group design where the researcher used one class of implementation and one class of replication. The population of this research is the student on 11st grade of Dharma Wanita High School. The sample of this research is XI-IPA 1 as the implementation class and XI-IPA 2 as the replication class. The variables in this research including manipulation variable is guided inquiry learning model, response variable is critical thinking skills, and control variable are fluid dynamic material, teacher, and learning time allocation. The technique of data analysis that used is normality-test and homogeneity-test as precondition-test, t-test, n-gain, and variant analysis. The result of this research shows that the learning process with applying guided inquiry learning model got a very good categories with the percentage of XI-IPA 1 class is 86,8% and percentage of XI-IPA 2 class is 85,7%. The result of t-test to know the significance results of pre-test and post-test that is 52,35 for XI-IPA 1 class and 51,17 for XI-IPA 2 class with ttable is 1,70, it shows H0 rejected so H1 accepted because of the tcalculate more large than ttable, so can be conclude that the results of pre-test and post-test is significance importance. The result of n-gain test to know the increasing of critical thinking skills of the student got the average is 0,72 for XI-IPA 1 class and the average is 0,71 for XI-IPA 2 class with the categories of this two class is high. The result of positive student?s response is the percentage between 84% until 92% for each a question, this results from both of class have a very good categories. This research can be concluded that guided inquiry learning process can be increasing the critical thinking skills of the student with the result of the increasing that significance and the positive student?s response that very good of the both class. Abstract

Physics learning that only fixed on definition and formula causing low student learning outcomes. Therefore, this study aims to describe the results of learning activities and student learning outcomes when applying guided inquiry based peer tutor learning model on dynamic fluid. This type of research is experimental research with one-group pretest-posttest design with replication. This research was conducted in XI IPA 1 (experiment), XI IPA 3 (1st replication), and XI IPA 4 (2nd replication) in SMAN 1 Ngronggot. The research instruments are learning activities sheet, pre-test and post-test sheets and skill assessment sheets. The increased of student learning outcomes were analyzed using paired t-test and n-gain analysis. Based on the study, it shows that the learning activities is done 100% with the quality is in good category. Student learning outcomes is improved with high n-gain scores in all three classes. Therefore, guided inquiry based peer tutor can improve student learning outcomes on dynamic fluid.Keywords: guided inquiry based peer tutor, learning outcomes

Abstract

Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk menguji keefektifan Animated Simulation Book (AS Book). Aspek keefektifan AS Book meliputi, keterampilan proses sains dan respon siswa. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen dengan menggunakan one shoot case study. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah lembar observasi keterampilan proses sains dan angket respon siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah observasi dan angket respon. AS Book ini diujicobakan secara terbatas pada 20 siswa kelas X SMA Muhammadiyah 9 Surabaya pada bulan April 2018. Keefektifan AS Book untuk melatihkan keterampilan proses sains dasar memenuhi kategori sangat baik dengan persentase keterampilan proses sains dari angket respon siswa (96,48%) dan persentase keteramplan proses sains dari lembar observasi keterampilan proses sains (85%). Persentase respon siswa terhadap AS Book (97%).

Abstract

Keterampilan proses sains merupakan dasar dari pemikiran ilmiah dan penelitian yang masih perlu dilatihkan kepada peserta didik. Salah satu model pembelajaran yang dapat melatihkan keterampilan proses sains peserta didik yaitu model pembelajaran inkuiri terstruktur karena sintaks dari model pembelajaran tersebut merupakan pengembangan dari metode ilmiah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan hasil keterlaksanaan pembelajaran dengan diterapkannya model pembelajaran inkuiri terstruktur dan hasil keterampilan proses sains. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan penelitian pre-experimental dengan one groups pretest-posttest design. Hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa : (1) keterlaksanaan pembelajaran dengan diterapkan model pembelajaran inkuiri terstruktur terlaksana dengan kualitas baik, dan (2) keterampilan proses sains setelah diberi perlakuan mengalami peningkatan dengan berkategori tinggi. Penelian ini memberikan simpulan bahwa dengan diterapkan model pembelajaran inkuiri terstruktur mampu meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains.
