Abstract

Groundwater is a vital and critical resource for humanity. Therefore, its management requires accurate data on its conditions and characteristics, which are generally obtained through field surveys. However, limited accessibility often hinders optimal data acquisition, making interpolation necessary to fill data gaps. This study examines the application of Inverse Distance Weighting (IDW) and spline interpolation methods for analyzing groundwater depth and table elevation in urban and rural areas. The research was conducted in four locations: two representing urban areas (the border of Yogyakarta City–Bantul Regency–Sleman Regency, and Lowokwaru–Blimbing Districts in Malang City) and two representing rural areas (Kalibawang–Samigaluh Districts in Kulon Progo Regency, and Sanden District in Bantul Regency). At each location, three IDW and spline models were developed with different combinations of model and validation data for groundwater depth and elevation analysis, resulting in a total of 96 models (24 models per area). Model accuracy was compared using Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) and Mean Absolute Error (MAE). Results show that the IDW interpolation method is more accurate for groundwater depth analysis. For groundwater table elevation analysis, IDW was observed to be more accurate in urban areas, while spline interpolation was more accurate in rural areas.

Abstract

The application of 5D-based Building Information Modeling (BIM) method in re-planning Building 2 of Hermina Banyumanik Semarang Hospital to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of construction projects. The methods used include literature studies related to building structure planning guidelines, calculation of dimensions, reinforcement, and loading of lower and upper structures. Furthermore, 3D modeling using Autodesk Revit 2024, structural analysis with Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis Professional (RSAP) 2024, and integration of scheduling and cost estimation through Autodesk Naviswork 2024 and Microsoft Project 2021 were conducted. This process resulted in a re-planning that included the volume of work, project duration, and project cost. The results show that the structural elements were safe according to standards, the project duration is 33 weeks, and the project cost is IDR 40,642,964,000.00 including 11% VAT. The integration of 3D models, schedules, and budgets in BIM 5D provides better visualization and helps anticipate potential delays in project implementation. Thus, the application of BIM 5D can improve stakeholder performance and efficiency in managing building construction projects.

Abstract

Energy is a vital necessity in supporting societal activities; however, dependence on non-renewable fossil fuels poses sustainability challenges. Therefore, the development of New and Renewable Energy (NRE) serves as a strategic solution, especially in rural areas that still face limited access to electricity. This study examines the implementation of a Pico Hydro Power Plant (PLTPH) based on an Archimedes Screw turbine in Singogalih Village, Tarik Sub-district, Sidoarjo Regency, as an environmentally friendly alternative for providing electricity for lighting in rice field areas. The system utilizes water flow from irrigation channels to drive the turbine and generate electricity, which is then regulated through a Control Charger (CC) to power LED lamps. Testing was conducted over three weeks by observing generator rotation (RPM), voltage, and electric current at three different times each day. Measurement results showed an increase in system performance from week to week. RPM rose from 226.9 to 384.4, voltage increased from 6.5 V to 11.0 V, and current rose from 0.49 A to 0.82 A. This improvement indicates that the PLTPH system is capable of operating consistently and efficiently in converting water’s kinetic energy into electrical energy under existing flow conditions, reflecting the enhanced performance of the generator and the system as a whole during the testing period. The findings demonstrate that a PLTPH using an Archimedes Screw turbine can serve as a sustainable, self-reliant, and appropriate lighting solution for rural areas with continuous water flow potential.

Abstract

Suppliers are an essential factor to consider in supply chain management. So far, the MSME House of Makario, which produces leather handicrafts, has yet to have a specific mechanism for selecting raw material suppliers. As a result, the arrival time, price, and quality of raw materials must match the order. This research aims to determine the leading suppliers with quality, price, delivery, and service criteria. The method used is the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP)—data collection using questionnaires, interviews, and literature studies. The data processing results show the priority criteria: quality with a weight of 40%, price of 32%, delivery at 20%, and service at 8%. The priority weight order of the selected suppliers is Supplier A by 35%, Supplier B by 34%, and Supplier C by 31%. Thus, Supplier A is a supplier that is recommended to be the leading supplier.

Abstract

Road damage is a significant problem in many countries, including Indonesia, and it can affect safety, transportation efficiency, and the quality of life of communities, especially on urban roads. This study aims to develop a data-based model using the K-Means algorithm to detect and classify the levels of urban road damage based on the Surface Distress Index (SDI) parameter. The data used comprised 2,467 road segments containing information on the types and levels of damage over the past five years. The clustering model was designed with two and four clusters, and the results indicated that the four-cluster model provided a clearer and more representative separation of road conditions. The Silhouette Coefficient value of the four-cluster model is 0.513, indicating a more detailed and clearer separation compared to the two-cluster model with a Silhouette value of 0.423. The four cluster model is better at telling apart complex data structures than the two cluster model. The results of this study contribute to the development of a road condition monitoring system based on maintenance priority data categorized by road condition, which can be adapted to improve infrastructure policies in Indonesia and other developing countries.

Abstract

The rapid population growth in Indonesia has created an imbalance between housing demand and supply, resulting in a significant housing backlog. Conventional construction methods, which are still widely applied, face limitations such as inefficiency, excessive waste, and long completion times. Prefabricated construction offers an alternative solution, one of which is the Rumah Unggul Sistem Panel Instan (RUSPIN) developed by the Ministry of Public Works and Housing (PUPR). This study aims to compare cost efficiency, time efficiency, and cost–time simulations between RUSPIN and conventional houses using a Building Information Modeling (BIM) approach. A comparative study based on secondary data was conducted by designing identical type-39 house prototypes for both methods. Modeling was performed with Autodesk Revit (3D), while scheduling simulation and cost–time integration were carried out using Autodesk Navisworks (4D and 5D). The results show that conventional construction requires Rp 126.301.865 and 71 days, while RUSPIN construction requires only Rp 117.550.753 and 58 days. This indicates a cost saving of Rp 8,751,112 (6.93%) and a time reduction of 13 days (18.31%). These findings demonstrate that the RUSPIN system is more efficient than conventional methods in both cost and construction time.

Abstract

Population growth is directly proportional to the increasing demand for water, while land-use changes into residential areas also affect the region’s water storage capacity. In Cianjur Regency, residents’ water needs are supplied by the Cianjur and Cibanteng sub-watersheds (Sub-DAS), most of which have undergone land conversion into settlements. This condition highlights the importance of studying groundwater flow systems to ensure the sustainability of water resources. Geologically, the area consists of old volcanic rocks and younger volcanic deposits, with permeability values ranging from 5.789×10⁻³ to 1.8752×10⁻⁷ cm/sec. Based on physical properties, groundwater shows different characteristics within a groundwater basin, EC and TDS values tend to increase downstream, indicating groundwater interaction. Chemically, the groundwater exhibits facies containing Mg-Ca, HCO₃ minerals, suggesting that the groundwater is in a transitional flow phase. The relatively high Mg/Ca ratio indicates that evaporation plays a significant role in controlling groundwater chemistry. The Ca-Mg or Ca/Mg phase forms due to dissolution processes from evaporation and prolonged interaction between water and older rocks. This phenomenon provides important insights into the dynamics of the groundwater flow system in Cianjur. The development of this groundwater flow is crucial for water resource planning and management in Cianjur Regency.

Abstract

This research focuses on optimizing the manufacturing process of Lightweight Expanded Clay Aggregate (LECA) made from a mixture of kasgot composites by integrating the Taguchi method, regression analysis, and Anova. The main problem of this research is the uncertainty of the quality of LECA made from kasgot composites due to less than ideal production process parameters. In addition, the increase in kasgot waste also encourages the need for more valuable utilization so that the LECA production process must be efficient to be optimal, consistent, and environmentally friendly. The Taguchi method is used to determine the most effective combination of production parameters, including firing temperature, firing duration, and LECA grain diameter using the L9 experimental design. The results of the analysis show that firing temperature is the most dominant factor, especially on production costs and surface roughness values. The findings of the Anova analysis confirm that temperature has a significant effect on most responses, while diameter has a strong effect on the LECA mass parameter. A regression model is then built to predict the behavior of each response based on process factors. Based on the research of these two methods, the most optimal is the Anova method with a firing temperature of 200°C, a firing time of 2 hours, and a diameter of 2 cm. The standard error obtained for cost is 0, for roughness is 0.178, for mass is 53.7, for permeability is 0.235 with a composite desirability value of 0.607448.

Abstract

Management related to groundwater resources is needed, especially in areas experiencing rapid regional development, such as Kalianda, South Lampung Regency. The initial step in management is identifying groundwater potential, using the geographic information system. This research aims to map groundwater potential zones using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method in the Kalianda area. The methods used were geological mapping, AHP processing via GIS, and comparative analysis with aquifer productivity maps and the numbers of well distribution in the research area. From geological mapping, lithology was obtained in the form of Alluvium Unit, Mount Rajabasa Laharic Deposit Unit, Mount Rajabasa Andesite Lava Unit 1, Mount Rajabasa Andesite Lava Unit 2, Mount Rajabasa Andesite Lava Unit 3, Mount Pandan Pyroclastic Breccia Unit 1, and Mount Pandan Pyroclastic Breccia Unit 2. The results of the groundwater potential zone analysis divided the research location area into four zones: low potential zone covering 42.34%, medium 21.17%, quite high 15.45%, and very high 21.03% of the research area. The low and medium potential zones are the zones with the largest constituents spread across the southeast and south, and the moderately high and very high groundwater potential zones spread across the north and along the coast. In addition, the zoning results are proportional to the number of wells in each zone.
