Abstract

Abstract Blind students of class VII in SMPLB-A YPAB Gebang Putih Surabaya had difficulty in pronouncing Hijaiyah alphabets or fluency in reading Al-Quran. The blind students required innovative and creative learning method which was suitable with the students’ condition and needs. The appropriateness method was based on the principles and the teaching pattern of blind students. The purpose of this research was to describe the influence of tactile auditory drill method. This method had been modified based on the principles and the teaching pattern of blind students in enhancing pronouncing Al-Quran alphabets ability to blind students of class VII in SMPLB-A YPAB Gebang Putih Surabaya. The research method used was quantitative with Pre-Experiment arrangement with One Group Pretest-Posttest design. The data was collected using test technique and documentation. The technique of data analysis used was using Sign Test formula. The research result indicated the average value of pretest was 136 and posttest was 192,5. The result of data analysis indicated that Zh value = 2,05 and Zt with n = 6 and  α = 5% was 1,96, so the interpretation was that Zh was greater than Zt. It could be concluded that Ho was refused and Ha was accepted, it meant that there was influence of drill tactile auditory method toward the ability of pronouncing Al-Quran alphabets to blind students of class VII in SMPLB-A YPAB Gebang Putih Surabaya.   Keywords: Drill method, pronouncing Al-Quran alphabets

Abstract

Abstract The autism children had problem in the domain of social interaction, communication (language and speech), emotion-behavior, playing pattern, sensory impairment, and low development or abnormal. One of the emotion-behavior problems was self-injury behavior. Self-injury was all activities which were done by someone and it could lead danger or injury to oneself. Self-injury behavior happened to the children selves was in the form of head banging activity through either the wall or other surfaces which disturbed so much in the learning process so it required an exact handling. One of the alternative handlings in reducing self-injury behavior of head banging was by Positive Behavior Support involving six systematic steps as the following: forming behavior support team, planning focused to the children, functional behavior assessment, making hypothesis A-B-C, planning of developing behavior support and monitoring the result. This research used experiment kind with Single Subject Research (SSR) design A-B, with the subject one autism child initialed ARA in SLB Cita Hati Bunda Sidoarjo. The technique of data collection used was direct observation using observation sheet of baseline phase (A) and intervention phase (B) and observation sheet A-B-C (Antecedent-Behavior-Consequences). The technique of data analysis used was visual analysis in condition and among condition. Based on the research result, it could be concluded that self-injury behavior of head banging to autism children could be reduced with Positive Behavior Support approach. This was indicated from the observation result of behavior frequency to baseline phase (A) beginning from 0,1,2 it reduced to intervention phase (B) beginning from 3,2,1 with trend tendency from up (baseline phase) to down (intervention phase) and stability tendency from variable to stable.     Keywords: Positive Behavior Support, self-injury behavior of head banging

Abstract

Abstract The mentally retardation children had obstacle in speech i.e. reading ability. This happened because of less interesting learning, less motivating children, and monotone tendency. Therefore, it required learning suitable with the characteristics of mentally retarded children by playing scrabble modification. Playing scrabble modification was playing activity which gave priority to form words and the activity of reading alphabets, syllables, words, and sentences. Playing scrabble modification was also interesting and modern playing activity. The purpose of this research was to prove the influence of scrabble modification game toward beginning reading ability to mild mentally retardation children in SLB Al-Chusnaini Sukodono. This research used quantitative approach with pre-experimental kind and Wilcoxon Match Pairs Test. The sample in this research was all the second class mentally retardation children in SLB Al-Chusnaini Sukodono whose ability of beginning reading was low. The total sample in this research was seven children. The technique of data collection used the result of observation and documentation. The research result indicated that the beginning reading ability of mild mentally retardation children in SLB Al-Chusnaini Sukodono before giving scrabble modification game was averagely obtained 41,07 and the beginning reading ability of mild mentally retardation children in SLB Al-Chusnaini Sukodono after giving scrabble modification game was averagely obtained 71,42. In addition, the research result also indicated T counted = 0 was smaller than T table = 2 with the significant level 5%. If T counted < T table (0<2), so it could be concluded that there was influence of scrabble modification game toward the beginning reading ability of mild mentally retardation children in SLB Al-Chusnaini Sukodono.   Key words:  scrabble modification, beginning reading

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe autistic disorder has effects as the obstacle in linguistic development especially in listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. In this research, the Iqro’ method is implemented to increase the result of the study in reading hijaiyyah letters of the autistic children. The purpose of this study is to analyze the hijaiyyah reading skill of the autistic children before and after the intervention using Iqro’ method. The period that is used in this research is 12 meetings with 10 times of intervention. The design that is used is one group pre-test post-test design with six children as subjects. The methods that are used are tests and documentation. The data analysis is non-parametric statistic analysis which using sign test. The result of the study shows that Z count is 2.05, and Z table in significant 5% for the two-side test (Zt=1.96). It makes Ho is rejected (2.05>1.96). According to that explanation, it can be concluded that there is a significant effect of the Iqro’ method to the hijaiyyah reading skill of the autistic students in SLB ABC Putra Harapan Kademangan Blitar.Keywords: Iqro’ method, letters reading ability, hijaiyyah

Abstract

ABSTRACTMentally disabled child is one of the children with special needs that have independence that should be increased. It is because the mentally disabled child has a limit in doing social activity and has the level of IQ under the average of the normal child. So, the child still needs help from the other people to do some activities. Understanding the instructions that dealing with directions is one of the examples. Mentally disabled children have trouble in identifying the movement directions especially the movements to the right, left, forward and backward direction. In this case, the activity play ball is used to increase the level of direction recognizing for the mid-level-mentally-disabled students. The purpose of this study is to increase the skill of direction recognizing to the mid-level-mentally-disabled students in the 3rd Grade SDLB Muhammadiyah Jombang. This research is quantitative researches with pre-experiment design which using pre-test post-test design, with six subjects which are mid-level-mentally-disabled children. The data analysis is using non-parametric statistic with wilcoxon test.The research shows that there is an increase of direction recognizing level of the students in 3rd grade of SDLB Muhammadiyah Jombang by activity play ball, fit into the result of the pre-test marks average which is 44.41 and the average of the post-test which is 63.01. From the result of the data analysis, it can be concluded that the calculation number is from Z = 2.20. That number than compared with the critical value 5% Ztable which is 1.96. This fact proves that the value of Zcount > 1.96 which means Ha is received and Ho is rejected. This means that football game is effective in escalating the skill of direction recognition by the mid-level-mentally-disabled students in 3rd grade of SDLB Muhammadiyah Jombang.Keywords: Movement direction, activity play ball

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe purpose of research was to observe whether there was influence of direct learning model toward self-guide ability model to the mentally retardation students of class VII in SLB B/C Siti Hajar Sidoarjo or not.This research used pre experiment kind with one group pre test – post test design.Based on the research, it indicated that the average value of pre test toward six subjects observed got low value i.e. 57% whereas the average value of post test toward six subjects observed after giving intervention through direct learning model got value, 89%. This indicated that there was influence of direct learning model toward self-guide ability to mild mentally retardation students in SLB B/C Siti Hajar Sidoarjo.Keywords: Direct learning model, self-guide

Abstract

Abstract The purpose of this research was to know whether there was influence of inquiry learning model toward thinking critic ability to the sixth class of hearing impairment students in SDLB-B Karya Mulia Surabaya. Hearing impairment made the speech and language development of hearing impairment children hindered. Speech and thinking ability influenced each other between one to another so that it influenced toward cognitive ability of the hearing impairment children, one of them was thinking critic ability, and caused knowledge competition emphasizing to hearing impairment children’s comprehension about the cause of thing change (putrefaction, corrosion, and weathering) very low. Therefore, to solve the problem required effective learning model and it was adapted to the characteristics and needs of hearing impairment children. One of the things which could be used to develop thinking critic ability of hearing impairment students was by applying inquiry learning model in learning process. The method used was quantitative approach with pre-experiment design arrangement and the design was One-Group Pretest-posttest. The sample was the sixth class students of SDLB Karya Mulia I Surabaya numbering 6 people. The data collection technique used test, observation, and documentation. The suitable instruments used in this research consisted of pretest and posttest exercises. The data of pretest and posttest result was then analyzed using statistic non parametric with quantitative data and the total sample was less than 30 i.e. n = 6. The data of pretest and posttest result was then analyzed using statistic non parametric i.e. sign test formula. The research result indicated that the result of pretest average value was 35,6 and the average value of posttest was 82,8. The result of data analysis indicated that the value of Z counted was 2,05 and Z table was 1,96 with the critic value α = 5%, so it could be concluded that Ho was refused and Ha was accepted, it meant that there was influence of inquiry learning model toward thinking critic ability to the sixth class of hearing impairment students in SDLB-B Karya Mulia I Surabaya.   Keywords: Inquiry learning model, thinking critic ability

Abstract

Abstract The achievement of learning mathematics result to mentally retardation students was still under standard determined. Mentally retardation students had difficulty in learning mathematics to analyze and formulate flat structure form. This reseach had purpose to analyze and formulate the concept of flat structure form to mentally retardation students by explaining, thickening, and drawing flat structure.  This reseach used descriptive method with qualitative approach. The data was collected using interview technique, structured observation, and documentation. Based on the reseach result, in explaining the flat structure comprehension the mentally retardation student had just been in thestep of showing the thingsas name, not the form. In formulating the flat structure form by thickening and drawing flat structure, the mentally retardation students had just been in the step of imitating the same flat structure form.         Keywords: mathematics literacy, flat structure.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research was formed background the importance of developing recognizing color concept ability to early age autism children. Based on the observation in the field about recognizing color concept ability, one of the basic color and secondary color possessed by the autism children in TK Putra Harapan still needed to be developed. It appeared to the children’s ability in mentioning, showing basic color and secondary color still low. The recognizing color concept ability of autism children in this research was developed through guided discovery learning method which the children were actively stimulated through the direct involvement by engaging the learners’ ability optimally to search and find with the learning material of recognizing color concept through the mental process itself. This research had purpose to prove the influence of guided discovery learning method toward recognizing color concept ability to autism children in TK Putra Harapan Sidoarjo. This research method used quantitative approach, with pre-experimental kind, and one-group pretest—posttest design.  The sample in this research was Group B autism children in TK Putra Harapan Sidoarjo, 6 children whose recognizing color concept ability still needed to be developed. The data collection technique in this research used observation and documentation. The data analysis technique used statistik non parametik with wilcoxon Match Pairs Test.    The research result indicated that there was influence of guided discovery learning method toward recognizing color concept ability of autism children in TK Putra Harapan Sidoarjo. Abstract

Abstract   The purpose of this research was to observe whether there was influence of using inductive model of picturing animation words toward beginning writing ability to hearing impairment children or not. In the academic domain, the hearing impairment children had difficulty in speech skill, the skill, for example, disturbance in writing skill which was caused by the low vocabulary mastered by the children. The writing skill could be improved using inductive model of picturing animation words. This learning model was given with the purpose to enhance writing skill to hearing impairment students through the performance of animation picture given in learning class in the form of moving picture accompanied words for each picture object. To avoid the problem in writing intervention was given first through beginning writing with the purpose to train and customize the children scratching. The research used quantitative approach. The research kind was pre-experiment. The design used was one group pretest-posttest. The data analysis was statistic non parametric using sign test formula. The collection method used test and documentation. The time applied was 8 times meeting with 6 times intervention. The subject was 6 hearing impairment children. The instrument of this research was syllabus and plan of learning implementation equipped by material. In the research result, there were some differences i.e. in the theory and the research before the picture was given using printed picture whereas in this research the picture was given in the form of animation. This research which had been done indicated that there was score enhancement of beginning writing skill to six hearing impairment children, the average value of pretest was 45,49 and the average value of posttest was 86,51. From the research result which was then analyzed using sign test formula with two sides test it was obtained that the value of Zh = 2,05 > Zt = 1,96 to significant level 5% so that it could be concluded that there was influence of inductive model of picturing animation words toward beginning writing skill to hearing impairment children in SLB PGRI Bandung Tulungagung.   Keywords: Inductive Model of Picturing Animation Words, Beginning Writing Skill
