Abstract

ABSTRACT   Hearing impairment made the children’s speaking development late. The disturbance of the children’s speaking development caused complex development problem. As the low information received by the children it had impact to their literacy development. Therefore, developing literacy should be given as early as possible. Looking at the importance of speaking ability in daily life the skill should be developed. One of them was by applying literate class. This research had purpose to analyze the influence of literate class toward literacy development of hearing impairment children in Special Kindergarten (TKLB) Karya Mulia Surabaya. This research used quantitative approach with pre experiment kind and the research arrangement was “one group pre-test – post-test design”. The subject was hearing impairment children of Kindergarted class in TKLB Karya Mulia Surabaya numbering 7 children. The data collection technique used test and observation. The data analysis technique used statistic non parametric with “Wilcoxon Match Pairs Test”. The result of data, analysis indicated that the usage of literate class influenced significantly toward literacy development of hearing impairment children in TKLB Karya Mulia Surabaya.   Keywords : Literate Class, Literacy Development

Abstract

ABSTRACT   Hearing impairment students had disturbance in speaking. The lack of comprehension in oral language caused their emotion depressed. The disturbance of the hearing impairment emotion development could be minimized through giving skill suitable with the talent and interest. One of the skills which could be given was badminton. The purpose of this research was to prove the influence of demonstration method toward badminton basic skill to hearing impairment students in SMPLB-B Karya Mulia Surabaya. This research used quantitative approach with pre-experimental kind and the research arrangement was one-group pretest-posttest design. The subject was hearing impairment children in SMPLB-B Karya Mulia Surabaya numbering 5 children. The data collection technique used test and observation. The data analysis technique used statistic non parametric with match pair test. Based on the result of data analysis in 1 side test there was significant influence whereas in 2 sides test there was not significant influence of demonstration method toward badminton basic skill to hearing impairment students in SMPLB-B Karya Mulia Surabaya.   Keywords: Demonstration method, badminton basic skill

Abstract

ABSTRACT   The difficulty in receiving auditive information caused hearing impairment children got vocabulary limitedness. It caused the low of speaking skill to hearing impairment children. In the school age, one of the aspects which should be belonged to hearing impairment children was reading comprehension ability which would support the cognitive ability of hearing impairment children. This research purpose was to prove whether there was influence of using mind mapping method toward reading comprehension skill to class 5 of hearing impairment students in SDLB-B Karya Mulia I Surabaya. The research kind used was pre-experiment with “the one group pre-test post-test design”. The subject was class 5 of hearing impairment students in SDLB-B Karya Mulia I Surabaya numbering 7 students who had difficulty in reading comprehension. The data collection technique was collected using test and observation. The data analysis technique used statistic non parametric wilcoxon match pair test. Appropriate with the result of data analysis, it indicated that using mind mapping method influenced significantly toward reading comprehension ability to class 5 of hearing impairment students in SDLB-B Karya Mulia I Surabaya. It was shown by good comprehension in answering exercises about the reading content.   Keywords: reading comprehension, mind mapping.

Abstract

Abstract Taking care pattern of parents influenced so much the children’s development, one of them was the development in social interaction ability. One of the autism children’s disorders was disorder in social interaction. Therefore, to optimize the development of social interaction ability autism children the taking care pattern of parents which was suitable with the children’s needs was highly required. Based on this, the researcher did the research of taking care and social interaction of autism children. The purpose of this research was to describe the parents’ taking care pattern, social interaction of autism children, and the relationship between the parents’ taking care pattern and social interaction of autism children in SMPN 4 Sidoarjo. In this research the researcher used qualitative approach with descriptive kind of research. The research subject was autism children in SMPN 4 Sidoarjo numbering 4 children. The data collection method used observation and interview, and the technique of data validation used data triangulation. The research result indicated that parents’ taking care pattern of autism children in SMPN 4 Sidoarjo was two of four parents authoritative tendency whereas one was authoritarian tendency and another one was permissive tendency. The social interactive of autism children in SMPN 4 Sidoarjo from four autism children was two children had good social interaction and two others had enough social interaction. The conclusion of this research was that the autism children’s tendency with authoritative tendency taking care pattern had good social interaction whereas the autism children’s tendency with permissive and authoritarian tendencies taking pattern had enough social interaction.   Keywords: Taking care pattern, social interaction

Abstract

ABSTRACT   Dyslexia was an obstacle in the ability of reading, writing, and speech which gave effects toward the development of learning process so it was needed special method to overcome the problem. Therefore, Silaba method was used. The purpose of this research was to know the influence of Silaba method toward beginning reading ability of dyslexia children. The kind of research used was pre-experiment. The design used one group pre test and post test. The method used to collect the data was test method. For data analysis, the research used the analysis technique of statistic non parametric of sign test. Based on the data analysis it indicated that ZH = 2,05 > Z table = 1,96 in the significant level (two sides test) so it could be concluded that there was significant influence of Silaba method toward beginning reading ability to the third class of dyslexia children in SDN WediGedanganSidoarjo and SD TPI GedanganSidoarjo.     Keywords: Beginning reading ability, dyslexia, Silaba method.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The characteristics differences to society group happened because there was different background from each member individual in the group of society such as education, profession, and so on. This also happened to society group in Medokan Semampir where the region had diversity citizens consisted of variety of the background such as education, profession, and many others. Based on the explanation above, the researcher took the research focus about what the society’s opinion was toward special need children in Medokan Semampir village Sukolilo district Surabaya city. This research had purpose to obtain the data and information from the society of Medokan Semampir village Sukolilo district Surabaya city regarding with the opinion about the special need children generally or specifically. The data source in this research was the society of Medokan Semampin village Sukolilo district Surabaya city either male or female with the age range 20 – 50 years. The research method used was descriptive qualitative and the technique of data analysis was qualitative in according to Miles dan Huberman. The research result found that: (1) the society in Medokan Semampir village Sukolilo district Surabaya city stated that special need children were blind, deaf, mute, and hyperactive who needed affection more than the normal; (2) the citizen’s knowledge in the region about special need children was still limited in blind, hearing impairment, and autism; (3) the citizen’s response was limited to giving treatment normally when they met special need children; (4) the citizen in Medokan Semampir village Sukolilo district Surabaya city did not really view the government’s role yet to the special need children; (5) the citizen in that village still felt strange and did not recognize the existence of inclusion education service in the region yet; (6) the citizen could not give the idea and response yet about the special need children because of the lack of socialization; (7) the citizen was still confused about the prospect of special need children in the future; (8) the citizen gave suggestion and critic to education service to be better; (9) the citizen hoped there was socialization about special need children and the form of inclusion education service.   Keywords:  society’s opinion, Special need children

Abstract

ABSTRACT Hearing impairment experienced by the children had impact to the disorder of speaking development so that it prevented the development of social interaction, information acquisition, communication, and intelligence. Therefore, the development of speaking skill for the children had to be done soon in order that it did not prevent the ability development above. Developing speaking ability was done through the program of communication guide, sound and rhythm perception. Learning this program should look at the student’s characteristics which was sensitive toward the visual ability. Therefore it was applied audiovisual media in implementing the program. This media was the integration between visual (picture and movement) and audio (sound). This research had purpose to describe whether there was influence of audiovisual media toward sound understanding in the program of communication guide, sound and rhythm perception to hearing impairment students of class 1 in SLB-B Karya Mulia 1 Surabaya or not. This research used quantitative approach with pre experiment arrangement, one-group pretest-posttest design. The independent variable was audiovisual media and the dependent variable was sound understanding to the program of communication guide, sound and rhythm perception. This research target was hearing impairment students of class 1 in SLB-B Karya Mulia 1 Surabaya numbering 6 students. The data collection method used writing test (doing multiple choice exercise and short explanation), the data analysis used sign test. The research result indicated that there was average value enhancement of understanding sound ability i.e. pre test was 42,33 and post test was 83,83. Z table 5% to two sides examinationwas 1,96 and Zh obtained was 2,05 so that null hypothesis was refused and work hypothesis was accepted. Based on the explanation above, it could be concluded that there was significant influence of using audiovisual media toward sound understanding toward the program of communication guide, sound and rhythm perception to hearing impairment students in SLB-B Karya Mulia 1 Surabaya.   Keywords: Audiovisual Media, Sound Understanding

Abstract

ABSTRACT Autism children were one of the special need children who had several problems relating with the development so it influenced their education. In education world, children were hoped to be able to read, write, and count, whereas the autism children had hindrance in fine motoric which made the writing skill of autism children less good. It could be observed to the result of the children’s writing which had measurement too big and the letters form was not consistent that difficult to read. The purpose of this research was to prove that the writing skill of autism children could be enhanced through finger painting in education institution of ABK Insani Mandiri Sidoarjo. This research used quantitative approach with pre-experiment kind and pre-test and post-test in one group (one group pretest – posttest) with 6 autism children as the subject. The data analysis used statistic non parametric with Wilcoxon sign test. The research result indicated that there was enhancement of writing skill of autism children through the application of several techniques in finger painting suitable with the average result of pre-test i.e. 39,167 and the result of average value from post-test was 53,34. From the result of data analysis it could be concluded that the counting rate from Z = 2,20. The rate was then compared with critic value 5% Z table i.e. 1,96. It proved that the value of Z table > 1,96 which meant that Ho was refused and Ha was accepted. It meant that the writing skill of autism children in education institution of ABK Insani Mandiri Sidoarjo could be enhanced through the application of finger painting.   Keywords: finger painting, writing skill

Abstract

ABSTRACT Curriculum 2013 was the developing of the previous curriculum however it was emphasized to the enhancement and balance between soft skill and hard skill involving the aspects of attitude competence, skill, and knowledge. The implementation of curriculum 2013 was applied to not only regular or general school but special school as well. The purpose of this research was to describe the implementation of curriculum 2013, the teachers’ role, and the problem faced in implementing curriculum 2013 to mentally retardation children in SLB AC Dharma Wanita Sidoarjo. The research result could be concluded that 1) the implementation of curriculum 2013 to mentally retardation children in SLB AC Dharma Wanita Sidoarjo could not be stated perfect yet and there was still several concepts of the previous curriculum used. In the academic year 2015-2016, not all classes applied this curriculum 2013 as the principle of learning curriculum however only several classes had implemented it i.e. class 1 and class 4 SDLB, 2) the teacher’s role in indicating that teachers in learning program had already made a set of learning such as annual program, semester program, effective week details, syllabus, and learning plan (RPP). In addition, the teacher who had role as the educator also guided the students in learning which applied curriculum 2013 identical with the scientific approach, the teacher strived to apply this scientific approach to mentally retardation children although in the application it did not run maximally yet because of the limitedness of mentally retardation children, 3) the problem faced such as less complete teacher and student books available, less complete education media and lack of teacher’s understanding about arranging the learning set based on curriculum 2013.   Keywords: Implementation, curriculum 2013

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research purpose was to observe whether there was influence of using modeling technique toward toilet training ability of cerebral palsy children in TKLB/D-D1 YPAC Malang. Toilet training ability was a skill which should be possessed by cerebral palsy children in order to be able to control urinating and defecating autonomously. The impact of this deviation to the movement system was caused by damage or handicapped to the brain section relating with motoric function control, cerebral palsy children had obstacle in taking care themselves. In striving to enhance the ability, it was used modeling technique as the learning technique. By modeling, the children could observe and imitate the activity modeled by the model. This research used the kind of pre experiment design. The time applied was 12 times meeting with 10 times intervention. The research design used was one-group pretest posttest design with 6 children as the sample. The data collection method was done by test, observation, and documentation. The data analysis was statistic non parametric using sign test. This research indicated there was score enhancement of toilet training ability to the six cerebral palsy children. The average value of pretest was 4,03 and the average value of posttest was 6,02. From the research result, it was obtained the value of Zh = 2,05 whereas Z table with significant 5% for two sides examination = 1,96. So it could be concluded that Ho was refused and Ha was accepted, it was proved Zh ≥ Z table (2,05 ≥ 1,96). Based on the explanation above, it could be concluded that there was influence of using modeling technique toward toilet training ability of cerebral palsy children in TKLB/D-D1 YPAC Malang.   Keywords: Modeling Technique, Toilet Training
