Abstract

Abstract: Entrepreneurial Self Efficacy (ESE) and entrepreneurship are currently receiving special attention from researchers and decision makers. Various responses are carried out by empowering vocational students to be equipped with skills that are in line with current industry needs. Thinking, entrepreneurial behavior and ESE will help students take responsibility so as to achieve success and adapt to social progress and change. The 4.0 industrial revolution era has a great opportunity to engage in the business world. Abstract

Abstract: This study is intended to investigate the communication using IRF sequence, issues occurred during teaching-process, and critical thinking in Basic Analysis of Poetry class. The result indicates that the faculty member used questions to build ELT students’ critical thinking and ELT students believe that by reading a lot of poems will help them to develop their critical thinking. In conclusion IRF sequence with certain modification will help the faculty member to communicate with the students.Keywords: basic analysis of poetry, ELT students, classroom discourse, IRF sequence, critical thinkingAbstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meneliti komunikasi menggunakan runtutan IRT, masalah yang terjadi selama proses pengajaran, dan pemikiran kritis dalam kelas Analisa Dasar Puisi. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa dosen menggunakan pertanyaan untuk membangun pemikiran kritis para siswa Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris dan para siswa pendidikan Bahasa Inggris percaya bahwa membaca banyak puisi akan membantu mereka untuk mengembangkan pemikiran kritis mereka. Kesimpulannya, runtutan IRT dengan penyesuaian tertentu akan membantu dosen untuk berkomunikasi dengan para siswa.Kata Kunci: analisis dasar puisi, mahasiswa pendidikan bahasa Inggris, wacana kelas, IRF sequence, berpikir kritis

Abstract

Abstract: Language learning strategies (LLSs) play an essential role in the process of English language learning. This study is aimed at investigating language-learning strategies employed by successful Indonesian EFL high school students. This study is of significance to provide a model of strategies practiced by successful EFL students who manage to develop good command of English regardless certain limitations and challenges they face. The results of this study show the students actively employ a combination of affective and cognitive-social learning strategies to develop their English skills.Keywords: language learning strategies, successful EFL learners, language learning, high schoolAbstrak: Strategi pembelajaran bahasa (LLS) memainkan peran penting dalam proses pembelajaran bahasa Inggris. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki strategi pembelajaran bahasa yang digunakan oleh siswa EFL sekolah menengah atas di Indonesia yang berhasil. Studi ini sangat penting untuk memberikan model strategi yang dipraktikkan oleh siswa EFL yang berhasil yang berhasil mengembangkan penguasaan bahasa Inggris yang baik terlepas dari batasan dan tantangan tertentu yang mereka hadapi. Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to determine the differences in attitudes of nationalism in terms of various types of extracurricular activities and the relationship between the intensity of extracurricular participation with students' attitudes of nationalism. This research was a comparative and correlational quantitative research The data collection technique used a questionnaire. The data analysis technique used normality test, difference test, regression test and correlation test. There is a significant difference in the attitude of nationalism in terms of various extracurricular activities due to the Sig. 0.014 or <0.05. The intensity data of participation in extracurricular activities has a value smaller than the respective r table, it is concluded that there is no relationship between the intensity of participation in extracurricular activities with the attitude of nationalism.Keywords: family background, extracurricular activities, student participation, attitude, nationalismAbstrak: Penelitian ini bertuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan sikap nasionalisme ditinjau dari berbagai jenis kegiatan ekstrakurikuler dan hubungan antara intensitas keikutsertaan ekstrakurikuler dengan sikap nasionalisme siswa. Penelitian ini berjenis penelitian kuantitatif komparatif dan korelasional. Dengan sampel sebanyak 355 siswa di 7 SMA Negeri Kota Malang. Data diambil menggunakan kuesioner. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji normalitas, uji beda, uji regresi dan uji korelasi. Terdapat perbedaan secara signifikan sikap nasionalisme ditinjau dari berbagai macam kegiatan ekstrakurikuler dikarenakan nilai Sig. Sebesar 0,014 atau <0,05. Data intensitas keikutsertaan dalam kegiatan ekstrakurikuler mempunyai nilai lebih kecil dari r tabel masing-masing, disimpulkan bahwa tidak terdapat hubungan antara intensitas keikutsertaan dalam kegiatan ekstrakurikuler dengan sikap nasionalisme.Kata kunci: latar belakang keluarga, aktifitas ekstrakurikular, partisipasi siswa, sikap, nasionalisme

Abstract

Abstract: The aim of this study is to describe students’ willingness to communicate in English through virtual classroom during Covids-19 Pandemic. This study used descriptive qualitative research design, conducted at SMK Negeri 8 Malang. Data collection methods were obtained from students’ responses on questionnaires and compiled with transcripts of the virtual interview result. The finding showed the students preferred to communicate in English written rather than English spoken.Keywords: student's willingness, English communication, virtual classroomAbstrak: Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan kesiapan para siswa untuk berkomunikasi menggunakan bahasa Inggris. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain kualitatif deskriptif yang telah dilakukan di satuan pendidikan SMK Negeri 8 Malang. Adapun pengambilan data dilakukan berdasarkan hasil tanggapan para siswa dalam mengisi kuisioner dan dikonfirmasikan dengan hasil wawancara antara peneliti dengan siswa yang terlibat dalam penelitian ini. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwasanya para siswa lebih memilih berkomunikasi menggunakan bahasa Inggris secara tertulis.Kata kunci: keinginan siswa, komunikasi Bahasa Inggris, kelas virtual

Abstract

Abstract: This research is aimed at (1) finding out whether the EFL students taught using Google docs show better writing ability than those taught without using Google docs, (2) discovering if there is a significant difference in writing ability between the introverted students and extroverted students taught using Google docs. This research involved two intact classes of ten graders in SMA Kristen Charis Malang consisting of 29 and 28 students respectively that were randomly selected to be the experimental and control group.  The experimental group worked collaboratively outside the class using Google docs whereas the control group worked in the face-to-face class. Both groups were assigned to compose an expository essay based on the topics given in the pre-test and post-test to reveal their writing achievement before and after the treatment. The results showed that the mean score of experimental group was significantly higher than that of the control group. When it comes to personality learning styles, there was no significant difference in the mean scores obtained by the extroverted students and introverted students.Keywords: google docs, writing ability, expository essay, personality, learning styles

Abstract

Abstract: Flipped-classroom strategy, as the name suggests, flips the conventional teaching and learning process. In a flipped classroom, students learn the materials at home in an online platform (out-class) and then they learn more through discussion with their peers in the classroom (in-class). This study focuses on students’ perceptions of the activities in a flipped academic writing classroom. The data were collected using questionnaires and observation. The result shows that the activities were able to help students to learn and improve their academic writing. In addition, students also gave positive responses to the use of teaching media and peer feedback sessions.Keywords: students’ perceptions, flipped-classroom strategy, Google Classroom, academic writing
