Abstract

Human resource management in Islamic religious universities has recently become closely linked to digital transformation. This study aims to analyze the level of organizational readiness to adopt digital transformation in human  resource  management  (HR)  and  identify  challenges  and opportunities that arise during the digitalization process. This study uses a quantitative approach with data collection techniques through the distribution of questionnaires to 132 respondents consisting of personnel, HR development staff, and employees at Islamic religious universities in Bengkulu Province that have undergone or are undergoing digital transformation. Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression, correlation tests, and descriptive analysis. The results show that the level of organizational readiness for HR digitalization is in the high category with an average score of 4.2 on a scale of 5. The use of technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS), and Big Data shows a positive and significant correlation with increasing HR management efficiency (r = 0.684; p < 0.01). The main challenges faced include limited digital HR, resistance to old work cultures, and system integration issues. Meanwhile, key opportunities that can be leveraged include accelerated decision-making, workload efficiency, and real-time performance monitoring. These findings emphasize the importance of technological readiness and organizational culture for the successful digitalization of human resources (HR) in Islamic Religious Higher Education Institutions (PTKI).

Abstract

Discourse analysis plays an important role in understanding classroom interaction in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) by examining language use as a medium of learning. This study aims to analyze and describe scholars’ perspectives on the theoretical frameworks, methodologies, and applications of classroom discourse analysis across various educational contexts. A total of 20 articles published between 2020 and 2025 were reviewed, focusing on discourse analysis and classroom interaction in EFL settings. The review identified four major trends: (1) the dominance of the Initiation–Response–Feedback (IRF) pattern and teacher-centered interaction; (2) more diverse IRF variations employed by experienced teachers; (3) meaning-focused interaction supported by scaffolding strategies; and (4) the use of discourse analysis for professional development and critical approaches. These trends are interconnected and directly influence students’ opportunities to learn English. Therefore, expanding IRF variations, providing effective scaffolding, and implementing continuous classroom discourse analysis can enhance classroom interaction and serve as valuable references for identifying challenges in applying discourse analysis in educational settings.

Abstract

Vocabulary acquisition is a fundamental aspect of English language learning for young children. One instructional approach that supports this process is Experiential Learning, which emphasizes direct experience as the primary source of learning. This study aimed to analyze the implementation of a Cooking Class as an experiential learning strategy to support English vocabulary acquisition among preschool children. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed at Blinkids.id Preschool on June 2, 2025. Data were collected through classroom observations, documentation, and field notes during the Cooking Class activities. The findings indicate that the activity provided children with opportunities to learn English vocabulary related to food ingredients, cooking utensils, and action verbs through the use of realia, simple classroom instructions, and active participation in meaningful learning experiences. These contextual learning experiences enabled children to understand vocabulary more naturally in accordance with their developmental characteristics. Therefore, Cooking Class has the potential to serve as a contextual, interactive, and enjoyable instructional strategy for supporting English vocabulary acquisition in preschool learners.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the implementation of the human body wheel learning media in science learning and to examine its effect on improving students' learning interest and motivation at SMP Negeri 3 Bengkulu Selatan. This study employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design based on the Kemmis and McTaggart model, which was conducted in two cycles. The research participants consisted of 35 eighth-grade students during the second semester of the 2024/2025 academic year. Data were collected through observation and interviews and analyzed using descriptive analysis. The results indicated that the implementation of the human body wheel learning media successfully improved students' learning interest and motivation. The percentage of students' learning interest and motivation increased from 70% in Cycle I, categorized as good, to 89% in Cycle II, categorized as very good, representing an improvement of 19%. The interview findings also revealed that the use of the human body wheel learning media created a more engaging, enjoyable, and interactive learning environment, encouraging students to participate actively in discussions, answer questions, and become more involved in the learning process. Therefore, the human body wheel learning media can be considered an effective alternative instructional medium for enhancing students' learning interest and motivation in science learning.

Abstract

The advancement of digital technology has given way to various learning media that can be used to improve English language skills, one of which is podcasts. This study was designed to investigate the impact of English podcast content on vocabulary mastery and speaking skills. This study employed a descriptive quantitative approach using a data collection method that involved distributing a questionnaire to 41 respondents. The research instrument consists of nine statements assessing the frequency of podcast use, understanding of English usage, vocabulary mastery, pronunciation skills, and the effectiveness of podcasts as a learning medium. The results indicate that the majority of respondents provided positive feedback regarding the use of English-language podcasts. The majority of responses for each indicator fell into the “agree” category, ranging from 39.02% to 56.10%. The findings indicate that podcasts help respondents understand the use of English in everyday situations, obtain new vocabulary, comprehend word meanings, improve pronunciation, and imitate English expressions and speaking styles. Additionally, podcasts are considered effective because they provide exposure to authentic, natural, and easily accessible language anytime. Thus, English podcasts can serve as an effective digital learning medium to support the improvement of speaking skills and vocabulary mastery for English language learners.

Abstract

This community service program was conducted at Bina Insani Orphanage with the aim of improving children's basic English skills, creativity, and digital literacy through interactive and collaborative learning activities. The program integrated English language instruction with TikTok-based digital content creation as an engaging learning medium that aligns with current technological developments. The method employed was a participatory approach consisting of preparation, implementation, and evaluation stages. Learning activities included vocabulary introduction, pronunciation practice, simple conversation exercises, educational games, and collaborative digital content production. The results indicated improvements in participants’ English vocabulary mastery, communication confidence, learning participation, and creativity in utilizing digital media positively. Furthermore, the program provided an enjoyable learning experience and enhanced participants’ motivation to engage in the learning process. Therefore, the integration of English learning and digital media can serve as an innovative, effective, and relevant alternative for supporting language development and digital literacy among children in orphanages

Abstract

The English Fun Learning with Games and Rewards program was designed to improve the interest, participation, and basic English skills of children at Kasih Sayang Orphanage in Bengkulu City. The program was motivated by the limited access to engaging and effective English learning and the low learning interest among the children. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed using observation, documentation, and evaluation over five learning sessions. The materials covered greetings, numbers, colors, daily activities, animals, and food and drink through educational games, hands-on practice, and reward-based activities. The results indicated significant improvements in students' learning interest, participation, basic vocabulary mastery, and confidence in communicating in English. The interactive and enjoyable learning approach also created a positive learning environment and enhanced the children's self-confidence. Therefore, this program can serve as an effective alternative strategy for English language learning, particularly for children in orphanages, and has the potential to be implemented sustainably to support the improvement of English education.

Abstract

English is one of the important languages that should be learned from an early age. However, many students still find it difficult and show little interest in learning it. This condition was also found at SDN 84 Kota Bengkulu. Therefore, the Competition English Project: Bright Minds English Challenge was organized as an effort to improve students’ interest and ability in learning English. The activity was conducted in the form of an English quiz competition involving fifth and sixth grade students. The competition materials included vocabulary, spelling, and counting in English. The results showed that the students were highly enthusiastic in participating in the competition and became more active in using English. This activity provided an enjoyable learning experience and helped increase students’ learning motivation.

Abstract

English is one of the international languages that is important to introduce to children from an early age. However, learning English through conventional methods often makes children feel bored and less motivated to learn. Therefore, a fun learning approach is needed so that students can learn actively and enthusiastically. This community service activity aimed to improve children's English vocabulary through the implementation of English Fun Learning at Bintang Terampil Orphanage Foundation. The activity was conducted on May 23–24, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., involving approximately 15–20 participants aged 3–12 years old. The methods used included ice-breaking activities, Matching Pictures and Words, and Animal Coloring combined with English vocabulary introduction. The results showed that the participants were enthusiastic during the learning process, were able to recognize new vocabulary, and became more active in participating in the activities. In addition to improving English vocabulary knowledge, the program also helped develop the participants' creativity and self-confidence. Therefore, interactive and enjoyable English learning can be an effective alternative for increasing children's interest in learning.

Abstract

Abstract This study aimed to improve eighth-grade students’ understanding and learning interest through the implementation of Cooperative Learning assisted by puzzles in learning the process of urine formation at MTs Ja-Alhaq Bengkulu. The study employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The participants were 30 eighth-grade students. Data on students’ understanding were collected through individual tests, while learning interest was examined qualitatively through observations and interviews based on four indicators: enjoyment, interest, acceptance, and student involvement. The results showed a gradual improvement in students’ understanding. The mean score increased from 33.83 in the pre-cycle to 60.33 in the first cycle and 90.67 in the second cycle. Students’ learning interest also developed positively, as reflected in their increasing enjoyment, interest in using puzzles, acceptance of the learning activities, and involvement in group discussions and task completion. The implementation of Cooperative Learning assisted by puzzles can therefore serve as an alternative approach to support students’ conceptual understanding and learning interest in the topic of urine formation.
