Abstract

Stunting is one of the priority health problems in Indonesia, including in Yogyakarta, and is strongly influenced by the lack of knowledge among pregnant women regarding nutrition and preventive behaviors starting from early pregnancy. The use of digital technology provides an opportunity to improve access to health education more effectively and sustainably. This study aims to analyze the role of digital application–based education in improving knowledge and stunting prevention behaviors among pregnant women in Yogyakarta. The research employed a descriptive analytic design with a cross-sectional approach involving pregnant women who used a pregnancy education application. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire covering knowledge, attitudes, and stunting prevention practices. Data analysis was conducted using statistical tests to determine the relationship between the use of digital applications and the improvement of maternal understanding. The results showed that the use of digital applications significantly increased knowledge related to nutrition, antenatal care, and stunting prevention practices. In conclusion, education delivered through digital applications can serve as an effective learning medium and has the potential to be integrated into maternal health programs to reduce the risk of stunting. This study recommends the development of more interactive application content and collaboration with healthcare professionals to enhance the effectiveness of digital interventions.

Abstract

Background: Stunting affects physical growth and motor development in toddlers. Combining nutritional support with exercise therapy may optimize growth and development outcomes. Objective:This study aimed to analyze the effect of the synergy between nutritional support and exercise therapy on the growth and development of stunted toddlers. Methods:This study employed a quasi-experimental design with a pretest–posttest without control group approach. The sample consisted of 30 stunted toddlers aged 24–59 months selected using purposive sampling. The intervention included nutritional support based on standard dietary requirements for toddlers combined with exercise therapy focusing on gross motor activities and active play for eight weeks. Growth and development were assessed using anthropometric measurements (height-for-age z-score) and motor development was evaluated using the Pre-Screening Developmental Questionnaire (KPSP). Data analysis was conducted using a paired t-test. Results:The results showed a significant improvement in motor development scores after the intervention (p < 0.05). The average KPSP score improved from the “questionable” category to the “age-appropriate” category. In addition, an improvement in height-for-age z-scores was observed, although not all participants moved out of the stunting category. The synergy of nutritional support and exercise therapy demonstrated a positive effect on optimizing the growth and development of stunted toddlers. Conclusion:The combination of nutritional support and exercise therapy positively influences motor development and supports growth in stunted toddlers.

Abstract

Prevention of pregnancy complications is one of the main focuses in midwifery care, especially in rural areas such as Suka Mulya, Cianjur, where strong cultural values and local wisdom are still preserved. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of integrating local wisdom into midwifery education to improve the knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors of pregnant women in preventing pregnancy complications. The research employed a approach with a sequential explanatory design, involving 25 pregnant women as respondents and 5 key informants consisting of midwives, community leaders, and health cadres. The research instruments included a structured questionnaire, in-depth interview guides, and observation sheets. The results showed that midwifery education based on local wisdom—covering cultural practices that support maternal health, the use of the local language, and the involvement of traditional leaders—significantly improved mothers’ understanding of danger signs in pregnancy, ANC practices, and preparedness for childbirth. The integration of cultural elements was proven to enhance the acceptance of health messages, strengthen emotional engagement, and reduce resistance to medical information. This study contributes a new model of culturally-based midwifery education that can be used as a reproductive health promotion strategy in rural communities.

Abstract

Stunting remains a critical public health issue that affects child growth, human capital development, and long-term health outcomes. To address this challenge, the Government of Cianjur Regency implemented the Permata Kamila Program as a strategic initiative to accelerate stunting reduction and prevent new stunting cases (Zero New Stunting). The program adopts an integrated approach by strengthening community-based nutrition services, providing assistance to families at risk of stunting, and enhancing coordinated health administration across sectors. This study aims to describe the implementation of the Permata Kamila Program and evaluate its outcomes in achieving Zero New Stunting in Cianjur Regency. This study employed a descriptive evaluative design with a quantitative approach. The program was implemented across 32 sub-districts, involving 47 primary health centers, 157 villages, and 137 nutrition posts as intervention points. The main intervention consisted of providing supplementary nutritious food to children under five and pregnant women at risk of stunting. Menu development was conducted in collaboration with the Cianjur Association of Nutritionists to ensure compliance with targeted nutritional standards. Prior to distribution, all food products underwent food testing and evaluation to ensure quality, safety, and acceptability. The results demonstrate that the Permata Kamila Program achieved extensive and coordinated coverage. The prevalence of stunting in Cianjur Regency decreased to 7.2% in 2025, and no new stunting cases were identified in the intervention areas during the evaluation period. The program also strengthened community participation and the role of nutrition posts in growth monitoring. In conclusion, the Permata Kamila Program is an effective strategy for achieving Zero New Stunting and is suitable for replication in similar settings.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze barriers to maternal and child health service access and to examine the potential implementation of a locally appropriate Telemedicine Clinic (KTM) model in Cigunung Herang Village, Cianjur. A descriptive study with a participatory situational-analysis approach was conducted on 10 July 2026. Data were collected through field observation, participant registration, basic health screening including blood pressure, blood glucose, and uric acid examination, as well as health and educational counselling. The findings were analyzed descriptively to identify health-service barriers, community needs, and the feasibility of telemedicine implementation. A total of 146 participants were involved, consisting of 106 community members and 40 pregnant women. The study identified several major barriers, including difficult road access, an estimated 30 km distance to the public health center, and uneven telecommunications coverage. Elevated blood pressure and blood glucose were among the prominent health findings; however, the available individual-level data were insufficient to determine prevalence. The study also identified the need for a simple, low-bandwidth telemedicine system supported by health screening, documentation, referral mechanisms, and local assistance. These findings indicate that the Telemedicine Clinic model has the potential to support maternal and child health service accessibility when implemented gradually and integrated with existing primary health care services.

Abstract

Hospital outpatient services require an effective health administration system to ensure service quality, patient safety, and organizational efficiency. Integrating local wisdom into health administration management may strengthen communication, patient-centered care, and service acceptance within local communities. This paper aims to describe the mapping of health administration systems and identify managerial problems based on local wisdom in outpatient services. This study employs a qualitative method with a descriptive approach to identify the health administration system and managerial issues—based on local wisdom—regarding outpatient services at Dr. Hafiz Hospital, Cianjur. The study results indicate that the health administration system for outpatient services at Dr. Hafiz Hospital, Cianjur, comprises five key components: patient registration, medical record management, the hospital information system, human resource management, and service monitoring and evaluation. The study also identified several managerial issues, including ineffective communication, suboptimal inter-unit coordination, inconsistent implementation of standard operating procedures (SOP), underutilization of the hospital information system, and suboptimal integration of local wisdom values into the delivery of outpatient services. Mapping the health administration system and identifying managerial issues provide a strategic foundation for strengthening outpatient service governance through enhanced coordination, information system optimization, human resource competency development, consistent implementation of standard operating procedures (SOP), and the integration of local wisdom values to improve the quality of healthcare services.

Abstract

Telemedicine has expanded opportunities for reproductive health education before conception, particularly for women who require flexible access to counseling. This study aimed to analyze the effectiveness of telemedicine-based reproductive health education in improving pregnancy readiness among women of reproductive age at RSDH. A quasi-experimental pretest-posttest control group design was used. Seventy-two women of reproductive age were allocated to an intervention group (n=36) and a control group (n=36). The intervention consisted of four weekly telemedicine education sessions covering preconception nutrition, folic acid, reproductive risk screening, healthy lifestyle, and pregnancy planning. Pregnancy readiness was assessed before and after the intervention using a structured questionnaire. Draft analysis showed a greater increase in readiness scores in the intervention group than in the control group. Telemedicine-based education also improved knowledge of preconception risk factors and intention to seek preconception counseling. These findings indicate that structured telemedicine education has the potential to strengthen pregnancy readiness among women of reproductive age and can complement hospital-based preconception services. The numerical findings in this draft must be replaced with actual RSDH study data before publication.
