Abstract

AbstractProgram Logic Controller is subject that many complaints by students of Department of Mechanical Engineering FT-Unesa. This is due to the lack of learning devices are used so that learning becomes less favorable and become passive. This study aims to develop computer-based learning device mechatronics subject-oriented programmable logic controller directly on student learning Mechanical Engineering Department Unesa FT. This study was conducted in two phases. Phase I, the development of the learning refers to the design of the Model 4D Thiagarajan (1974), Phase II, trial learning in the classroom using a design of one group pretest-posttest design. The findings of the study: (1) an average score of 3.32 learning assessment tools (pretty good), (2) average scores on tests of learning implementation I of 3.59 (good) and trials II of 3.70 (both ), (3) student learning outcomes of cognitive and psychomotor aspects have achieved individually and classical mastery, (4) students showed a positive response to the stated learning tehadap interested, excited, and motivated to attend lectures mechatronics; activity of the most dominant college students are discussin /practices relevant to teaching and learning that is on trial I is 36.46% and trials II 38.19%. Based on the analysis of data, it can be concluded that the developed learning feasible for use in lectures mechatronics. Implementation of the computer-based learning mechatronics subjects PLC can improve the quality of teaching and learning, as students showed a positive response, implementation category learning and learning outcomes both cognitive and psychomotor aspects of students have achieved mastery individually and classical. Abstract

The objectivesof this study were to analyze the approaches applied by the studentstodetermine the type of materials, to examine the type of materials widely used by the students, and to assess the students’ accuracy in determining the type of materialsto produce technological works. This study was categorised into ex post facto study conducted at the Department of Mechanical Engineering Education, Faculty of Engineering, YSU. The samples were 139 students with39 units of machines. The data was obtained using documentation by examining the reports and the surveysof the developed technological works. The data was analysed descriptively. The results showed the students havethe ability to consider the criteria of materials selection based on materials science, including strength, usage, fabrication, availability and prices. The type of materials widely used is metal as follows: carbon steel, alloy steel, cast iron, stainlesssteel, aluminum and copper. The carbon steel is the most widely used material utilized by 62% of the students.There was36%of the components developed usinginaaccurately selected materials.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe Classroom Action Research of the application of computer-based interactive modules with Simulation Software of FluidSIM-P 3 Pneumatic System can be a learning medium for the students to gain the real experience and the concrete work on the hydraulic system. The purpose of this study is to improve the learning quality based on activity description, motivation, response, and learning outcomes. The of data collection techniques were using questionnaire, observation sheets and achievement test. Based on the observation result, the activity of lecturers and students during the learning process Pneumatics and Hydraulics courses,which was using interactive computer-based modules, had improved from the first cycle into the second cycle with the average value of each cycle. The first cycle was observed activity of the lecturers and the students, i.e. 66.63%, and the second cycle was 86.88%. To increase the students’ learning completion from cycle I to cycle II with the percentage oflearning completion in the first cycle was73%, and the second cycle was 100%. Meanwhile the results of the student response tocomputer-based interactive modules of pneumatic and hydraulic was 91.8%.Keywords: modules, interactive, computer, pneumatic, hydraulic

Abstract

 Dunia kerja dalam era mendatang dakan ditandai oleh ketidakpastian, semakin cepat dan sering berubah, serta menuntut fleksibilitas yang lebih besar. Perubahan ini secara mendasar tidak saja menuntut angkatan kerja yang mempunyai kemampuan bekerja dalam bidangnya (hard competencies) namun juga menguasai kemampuan menghadapi perubahan serta memanfaatkan perubahan itu sendiri (soft competence). Hal ini menjadi tantangan dunia pendidikan untuk mampu mengintegrasikan kedua komponen kompetensi tersebut secara terpadu dalam menyiapkan sumber daya manusia yang memiliki kemampuan bekerja dan berkembang di masa depan.Pemecahan permasalahan pendidikan tidak akan terlepas dari perlunya inovasi-inovasi yang terfokus pada peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran. Inovasi pembelajaran memiliki kemampuan  terwujudnya suatu proses pembelajaran yang berkualiatas sehingga dapat meningkatkan kompetensi, kemampuan, keterampilan serta daya saing lulusan. Pembelajaran konstrutivisme merupakan salah satu inovasi yang diyakini akan memberi peluang lebih besar dalam menghasilkan lulusan yang professional dan berdaya saing. Dalam hal ini pengetahuan dibangun sendiri oleh pembelajar secara aktif, tekanan dalam pembelajaran terletak pada pembelajar dan peran guru atau dosen/ instruktur adalah sebagain fasilitator yang menciptakan lingkungan untuk memungkinkan pembelajar secara aktif dan kreatif mengkonstruksi sendiri pengetahuannya.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research aims at develping database of self evaluation among the students and lecturers of Food and Clothing Department with empirical testing. This database was implemented to five study programs, i.e. Food Engineering Education (S1), Clothing Engineering Education (S1), Food Engineering (DIII), Clothing Engineering (DIII) and Make Up Beauty (DIII). This research was using Reseach and Development Approach. The development of database was conducted through need analysis, planning, making program prototype, testing and evaluation. The software program to make database was using Microsoft Access 2007. The source of data was from the lecturers and the students. The data collection method was using need analysis data, documentation for planning, and datbase prototype creation, observation for program testing. Data analysis was conducted through qualitative descriptive analysis according to the research stages. The finding was in the form of database of self-evaluation consisted of students and lecturers data from Food and Clothing Department, which had been tested emphirically. The development stage had completed until the making of prototype of electronic database. The development procces had conducted throgh some stages, i.e. analysis, designing, implementation and evaluation.Keywords: database, Food and Clothing Department and self-eveluation

Abstract

Vocational High Schools are concerned with human resources development to cope the requirements of fast developing market. Indonesian education is still not comprehensive as it emphasizes on the hard skills and neglects the soft skills and eventually the graduates find difficulty to compete in the workforce. In preparing competent human resources as expected by the industry, the prioritised programs to be undertaken by the Vocational High Schools are (1) conducting the teaching factory program; (2) collaborative programs with the industry that consist of: field practices, internship (on the job training), industrial visits, recruitments, industrial classes; and (3) stakeholders’ guidance related to workforce.Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) sebagai salah satu pemegang peranan penting dalam penyiapan tenaga kerja dituntut untuk selalu dapat mengikuti kebutuhan pasar yang terus berkembang. Sekolah yang ada di Indonesia belum membentuk lulusan yang mempunyai dua keterampilan yaitu hard skillsdan soft skillsdan pada akhirnya lulusannya akan sulit bersaing di dunia kerja.Dalam menyiapkan tenaga kerja yang berkompeten sesuai harapan industri, SMK dapat melaksanakan program-program kegiatan yaitu: (1) program teaching factory; (2) Jalinan kerjasama dengan industri yang berbentuk: pengelolaan prakerin yang baik, magang (on the job training), pengelolaan kunjungan industri, rekruitmen tenaga kerja, penyelenggaraan kelas industri; dan (3) Penyuluhan dan pembinaan dari stake holder terkait dengan ketenagakerjaan.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the correlation and the contribution of motivation, learning styles, teacher leadership, and the intensity of teaching on the learning outcomes of X grade students in Mathematics at Vocational High Schools. This study is an ex-post facto with a total sample of 234 students. The data is collected by questionnaire and analyzed by descriptive statistics as well as correlation and multiple regression with significance level of 5%. The analysis shows that the students’ motivation and learning styles still need to be improved, while the teacher leadership and teaching intensity need to be maintained. The result of correlation analysis shows that motivation, learning styles, teachers’ leadership, teaching intensity, and learning outcomes correlate from 0.532 to 0.627. The result of dual regression analysis shows that the contribution of motivation learning styles, teachers’ leadership and teaching intensity on the students’ learning outcomes were 0.381, 0,199, 0.223 and 0.175 respectively.

Abstract

Fenomena perkembangan pembangunan perumahan sangat menarik untuk diteliti dan ditelusuri pada  suatu daerah,  khususnya di  Kabupaten Sleman Yogyakarta merupakan daerah di Yogyakarta yang sangat pesat perkembangannya, terutama dalam pembangunan perumahan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui kondisi KDB (Koefisien Dasar Bangunan), KDH (Koefisien Daerah Hikau) dan garis Sempadan pada Perumahan di Kabupaten Sleman Yogyakarta. Penelitian tentang Garis Sempadan dan Building Coverage Perumahan di Kabupaten Sleman Yogyakarta di desain sebagai penelitian Studi Kasus. Metode pengambilan data dilakukan melalui observasi, pengamatan, penggambaran  sketsa, dokumentasi foto dan wawancara mendalam dan terstruktur dengan petugas pada instansi yang berkaitan dengan penelitian ini. Selanjutnya dilakukan analisis data dengan pengukuran dan  perhitungan secara kuantitatif  ketentuan garis sempadan dan Building Coverage pada tiap responden yang  terpilih. Penelitian dilakukan di: (1) Perumahan Graha Citra, yang berlokasi di desa Sariharjo Kabupaten Sleman Yogyakarta, (2) Perumahan Graha Indah Sejahtera, yang berlokasi di desa Sidoarum, Godean, Kabupaten Sleman Yogyakarta dan (3) PERUMNAS  Condongcatur, Kabupaten Sleman, Yogyakarta. Pada perumahan di Graha Citra di desa Sariharjo dan Perumahan Graha Indah Sejahtera, Kabupaten Sleman Yogyakarta, garis Sempadan dan kondisi KDB (Koefisien Dasar Bangunan), KDH (Koefisien Daerah Hijau) sudah memenuhi syarat. Selanjutnya untuk perumahan PERUMNAS Condongcatur Kabupaten Sleman, Yogyakarta pada daerah akses utama disepanjang jalan ring road utara, kondisi garis Sempadan, KDB dan KDH masih dapat dipertahankan. Sebaliknya untuk perumahan PERUMNAS yang terletak disepanjang jalan arah Candi Gebang Permai sudah berkembang sebagai daerah usaha, kondisi garis Sempadan KDB dan KDH sudah dilanggar.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to identify the students' levels of awareness of the importance of transferable skills and the mastery of the aspects of adaptive, critical thinking, and problem-solving. In addition, this study also aimed to identify differences in students' levels of awareness of the importance of transferable skills and the difference levels of awareness between male and female students. Research method used in this study was quantitative survey by using questionnaire. Data were analysed by finding the mean and an independent t-test. The results showed that  students' levels of awareness of the importance of transferable skills and the mastery levels of these skills were at a high and there were significant differences between female and male students' levels of awareness of the importance of transferable skills. However, the analysis showed no difference in the levels of dominance. Overall, greater awareness will help students to master the skills perfectly. It can also be used as a guide for students to identify elements and features that are required by employers nowadays.
