Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui perbedaan keterampilan merangkai sistem pneumatik pada mahasiswa yang diajar dengan strategi pengulangan dan demonstrasi di Jurusan Diknik Mesin FT UNY. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuasi eksperimen dengan variabel terikat keterampilan merangkai diagram pneumatik, variabel bebasnya adalah perlakuan strategi pembelajaran. Eksperimen menggunakan model classical experimental design. Sebagai populasi adalah 157 dengan sampel mahasiswa yang menjadi sumber data adalah 61 mahasiswa, dimana 31 mahasiswa sebagai kelompok eksperimen dan 30 mahasiswa menjadi kelompok kontrol. Analisis data menggunakan metode analisis deskriptif dan t-test. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan sebagian besar respon mahasiswa adalah positip, atau dengan kata lain mahasiswa merasa senang dengan pendekatan pengulangan. Tingkat  keterampilan kooperatif mahasiswa dapat dikatakan baik, karena sebagian besar mahasiswa memiliki inisiatif berbagi dan berdiskusi dalam penyelesaian tugas. Keterampilan pneumatik mahasiswa yang diberi perlakuan strategi pembelajaran pengulangan lebih tinggi dari sisi retensi maupun prestasi belajar dibandingkan mahasiswa yang tidak mendapat strategi pembelajaran pengulangan.

Abstract

Usually in studying the practice of computer networks, it is encountered several obstacles such as (1) limited computer networks design tools, (2) limited learning time to design computer networks and (3) technical difficulties for finding the solutions of errors. To overcome those barriers as proposed in this study, computer network simulators were used. Computer network simulators were expected to help students designing and simulating networks planned to be applied to computer network practices. This study used two simulators to compare its effectiveness in assisting the students to learn computer networks, which were Cisco Packet Tracer and Graphical Network Simulator 3 (GNS3). This study was aimed to determine the difference of the influence of network simulators to (1) learning achievement, and (2) learning achievement improvement. The quasi-experiment method was used and data were collected through conducting testing before and after the utilization of the simulators. Based on the testing results it was concluded that (1) different effect of using Cisco Packet Tracer and GNS3, the average grade achievement in the class using GNS3 and using Cisco packet tracer were 76.67 and 70 respectively, and (2) improved learning achievement using GNS3 for around 35%, higher than using Cisco Packet Tracer.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) menghasilkan produk modul mikrokontroler yang sesuai dengan kompetensi mata kuliah mikrokontroler, dan (2) mengetahui kelayakan modul mikrokontroler menggunakan Proteus Professional v7.5 SP3. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian rancang bangun melalui tahap analisis kebutuhan, desain, implementasi dan pengujian. Pengujian unjuk kerja modul menggunakan alpha testing dan pengujian kelayakan modul menggunakan beta testing sesuai kaidah rekayasa perangkat lunak. Teknik analisis data dengan analisis deskriptif, pemakaian skala likert untuk uji instrumen yang kemudian dideskripsikan dalam pengertian secara kualitatif. Hasil unjuk kerja modul ini sangat memadai sesuai dengan kompetensi yang akan dicapai di jurusan elektronika terutama dalam mata kuliah praktikum mikrokontroler. Pengujian secara simulasi hardware cukup memadai. Sedangkan untuk pengujian secara software sangat memuaskan karena program-program dasar sebagai penunjang kompetensi mata kuliah mikrokontroler berjalan dengan baik. Uji kelayakan/kemanfaatan untuk semua item (12 item) pada kategori cukup layak, dengan catatan item kelancaran teknis saat digunakan dan item tingkat fleksibilitas untuk dimodifikasi pada kategori layak prosentasenya tidak terlalu tinggi.

Abstract

A quality management system for vocational educational institutes is a system aimed at ensuring the quality goals of vocational education are achieved to meet the quality standards and develop the quality work. In practice, teachers play a vital role because the key elements in a quality assurance system are strongly related to teachers especially the learning process as the spearhead of the success of vocational education. In addition, most activities undertaken in vocational education involve teacher participation. Therefore, teachers hold a great responsibility in the successful implementation of the educational quality management system. The main point to be emphasized is how a teacher has a suitable common understanding of quality. Understanding the quality drives all activities undertaken by teachers to be quality improvement oriented.

Abstract

The objective of the study was to determine the differences of learning outcomes between the students treated with pre-practice review session and the students treated with integrated job sheets in the course of Electrical Measurement Practices. This study is categorized as a quasi experimental study. The data analysis technique used two-ways analysis of variance (Anova) and the credibility level of 0.05. The results showed that (1) There were differences of learning outcomes between the group treated with pre-practice review session ( =81,35) and the  group treated with integrated job sheets ( =76,04); (2) There were differences in learning outcomes between the group having low entry behaviour ( =81,35) with the group having high entry behaviour ( =71,00); (3) There was no interaction between the students’ entry behaviour with the pattern of the improvement (4) The experimental group treated with pre-practicum review session for the students having high entry behaviour showed the best learning outcomes

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe Integration of ICT in this life, nowadays,has given many changes including in the education field. The use of ICT offers many opportunities for better learning experience. It becomes a challenge to realize the integration of technology and learning process. The following conclusions had been reached from this paper: (1) some potential benefits of ICT for education were to enable the lifelong learning; to change the role of teachers and the role of students; to provide a public access for material content and interactive information through the network; to overcome the constraints of time and space in the learning environment; to reinforce the organization and learning management, and to create collaboration between teachers and students (2) realizing knowledge-based society, several actions need to be conducted, such as ensuring that everyone had ICT competencies and developed the other key competencies through ICT to participating in the community; setting the learning goals for the emancipation and empowerment as well as improving ICT literacy as part of the continous lifelong learning (3) the internalization process on ICT learning can be transformed by promoting as cultural activities in the school environment through the integration of educational values in the learning materials, thus, habituation, assignment, and role modelling being integral and holistic, which was continuously being part of learning, understanding, practicing in the daily life (4) implementation strategy and professional development in ICT field should refer to the teaching and learning activities. The indicators that should be developed were: accessibility indicator, output indicators and impact indicators. Directed and systematic policy can refer to the level of ICT-Based School, namely: Precursor, Basic, Intermediate, and Well-established where each level was determined from the factors of infrastructure, human resources, content, learning, as well as policy and program.Keywords: ICT integration, implementation strategy

Abstract

The objective of the study is to find out the effect of the instructional model and the cognitive style on the Vocational High School students’ learning outcomes. The model of this study was collaborative and direct. The students’ cognitive style were field independent and field dependent types. This study was conducted in SMKN 3 Yogyakarta by using the 2x2 factorial experiment design. The samples were 132 students of SMKN 3 Yogyakarta who were selected by multistage random sampling. The results of the study showed that (1) the learning outcomes of the students treated with the collaborative model is higher than  those who were treated with the direct model in the subject of interpreting technical drawing (2) there was a significant interactional effect between the instructional model and the cognitive style, (3) the learning outcomes of field independent students who were treated with the collaborative model were higher than those who were treated with the direct model, (4) the learning outcomes of field dependent students who were treated with the collaborative model were not significantly  different   than  those who were treated  with the direct model.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe purposes of this research are (1) to acquire the design of interactive learning media, (2) to analyze the obstacles and to find the solutions, (3) to analyze the implementation of interactive learning media model on mathematics course to improve students learning achievement.  This research can be catagorized as action research with several stages: (1) problem design, (2) media design, (3) expert validation, (4) implementing interactive problem solving with CourseLab V.2.4, (5) monitoring and evaluation, (6) reflection and revision, (7) implementing the next cycle. This research was conducted in the department of civil engineering and planning Faculty of Engineering, Yogyakarta State University. The reseacrh participants were the students who joined Mathematics Data Analysis Course. Data anaysis technique were using quanitative and qualitative descriptive analysis. The findings showed that (1) the criteria for learning media design with CourseLab V.2.4 which is appropriate to implement learning model of  interactive problem solving were as follow: (a) the level of difficulty was made in moderate level, (b) time allocation was implemented for the whole questions, not for every single question, (c) there was no need to show the answer key, (d) varying the type  of test item, (e) there was no need to provide calculator application assistance; (2) there were some ways should be conducted to overcome the obstacles in implementing this interactive media, i.e. (a) start by publishing the software in the form of html, (b) adjusting the security setting of the browser apllication on low level, (c) using courselab program should be thoroughly because this program can save any changes automatically, (d) file should be compresed in the form of zip, rar, or the other before it was distributed to the students, (3) the implementation of CourseLab V.2.4 on learning media of interactive problem solving was effective to improve students’ learning achievement.Keywords: interactive media, interactive problem solving and mathematics.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk: (1) mengetahui implemetasi penilaian pembelajaran di SMK Jurusan Bangunan di Daerah Intimewa Yogyakarta dalam rangka pelaksanaan Kurikulum Tingkat Satuan Pendidikan (KTSP) dan (2) mengidentifikasi kendala-kendala yang dialami oleh guru SMK jurusan Bangunan dalam menerapkan sistem penilaian pembelajaran sesuai ketentuan dalam implementasi kurikulum tingkat satuan pendidikan (KTSP). Penelitian ini termasuk jenis penelitian evaluasi yang dilakukan di 7 (tujuh) SMK negeri Jurusan Bangunan di DIY. Penentuan sampel sekolah dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling, pada SMK negeri di DIY yang memiliki jurusan Bangunan. Sumber data adalah guru yang mewakili semua kelompok mata pelajaran. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan angket. Analisis data dilakukan dengan statistik deskriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa secara umum implementasi penilaian pembelajaran telah sesuai dengan panduan implementasi KTSP. Kendala yang dialami oleh guru antara lain: (1) kesulitan dalam mengembangkan instrumen penilian yang sesuai dengan indikator dan (2) mengobservasi siswa secara individual karena jumlah siswanya banyak.

Abstract

The purpose of the study is to develop information system which can support the users in handling the management information system of Vocational High School Workshops. The study is categorized as the Educational Research Development (RD). The research procedure used in conducting this study consists of some steps i.e.: need analysis, product design, product design development, product trial/product implementation, and product evaluation. In the development phase of product design, the software was tested for feasibility by alpha validation tests and beta testing. Further product assessment to determine the performance of the system involved the users consisting of the head of the workshop, technicians, teachers, and students of Workshop at SMK 3 Yogyakarta. Data were analyzed with descriptive statistics. The result of this study was the software named Sistem Informasi Manajemen Bengkel Kerja Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan, The Management Information System of the Vocational High School Workshop (SIMBA SMK 3 Yogyakarta). Results of the assessment stated that the product had met the criteria; clear, consistent, accurate, and reliable. It was indicated by the whole score rate reaching at 3.77 in good scale.
