Abstract

The purpose of this program are: (1) to create a design motif of wovenfabric "goyor" more varied; and (2) to make the color composition. The methodused in this program is the training and mentoring. The program is carried outin stages: (1) an increase in knowledge about the importance of developing adesign motif for expanding market segment; (2) provide assistance equipment;(3) training of development product design; and (4) assistance in the form ofconsultancy to the problems faced. Through this program produced three formsof design motifs. Products are finished with attractive colors compositions willincrease the selling price. With the help of tools and capital in the form of asewing machine and materials, the real impact that can be seen is the sustainabilityofthebusiness.

Abstract

This Community Service Program was intended to provide knowledge and skill in terms of: 1) snack food with various materials and processing tech- nique; 2) processing various types of Snack food using basic materials of flour (rice, wheat, sticky rice), and cassava by means of various processing techniques; 3) serving and packaging Snack food in a more interesting and hygienic way and 4) appropriate pricing for the fast-food. The training program was implemented in July 2010 by involving 25 non-working housewife mothers in the area of Pringgodani sub-village of Mri- can Yogyakarta. The materials provided included: knowledge on basic concepts, types and characteristics of Indonesian Snack foods, making Snack foods using various materials of flour (rice, wheat, sticky rice) and cassava as well as serv- ing and packaging Snack food in a more interesting and hygienic way in order to be appropriate for sales, and calculating the selling price of the Snack food. Methods used in the training were lecturing, question and answer, demonstra- tion and practice. The results of the Community Service Program were: 1) the participants have knowledge on Snack food using various materials and types and process- ing techniques; 2) the participants are able to make various types of Snack food using various types of materials and techniques of processing; 3) the participant are able to serve and package Snack food in a more interesting and hygienic way, and 4) the participants are able to appropriately calculate the selling price of the Snack food. Suggestions made based on the results of the program were: 1) the need for providing fixed outlets/food shop to serve the Snack food made by housewife mothers in such a way that it could be the center for Snack food shop and the housewife group should not vend their Snack food products; 2) the training program participants need to develop variations of their Snack food products in order to cope with bored buyers in such a way that the Snack food products accepted by consumers

Abstract

This  society  servitude   aims  to use  the  fish  waste  in poultry  feed  to  increase  the income  of fishermen  in Baron,  Tepus,  Gunung  Kidul,  DIY. This purpose  is designed  into two  activities   namely,  information   delivery  about  the  idea  and  advantages   of using  the fish  waste;   and  the  process   of  manufacturing    the  fish  waste   into  fish  flour   is  also introduced.Thirty    fisherman    joined    with   this   program.    The   information    delivery    was conducted   on  21  August  2002  and  the  pratical  work  of  manufacturing    fish  flour  was conducted   on  21 November   2002  and  at Baron  meeting  house,  Tepus,  Gunung  Kidul, DIY.Result  shows  that  the  participants   show  positive  response   by  collecting   the  fish waste and drying them up, the dry fish waste then blended  to produce  the fish flour.Key words:  fish waste, poultry   feed

Abstract

The results of policy research in 2009 showed that geography teachers' understanding and skills in learning assessment still have not reached the standard. The purpose of this activity is the increased understanding of assessment techniques by geography teachers in Bantul with indicators of success at least 70% of participants obtain the results of the assessment in the category ofat least "good" and passed. The training method used theoretical and practical pragmatic thematic. Target Audience activity is geography teachers at the high school geography in Bantul as 41 people. The results: 1) only 35 participant (85.37%) passed with categories "Very good" 15 participant and 20 in "good" category. 2 there is an increased capability assessment techniques by geography teachers in Bantul was evidenced by the average pretest results of participants by 17% before training was conducting.Keywords: assessment, geography, teacher, and learning

Abstract

Gunungkidul area, especially Semin and Semanu District, is a whitestone production. This area is a central of stone craft for export anddomestic market.The barriers are the limitation of production tools, low quality ofcraft product, and traditional management. They caused the development ofstone craft are slow. Despite, these conditions make consumer's complaint,domestic and also consumer's foreign.The 1st year IbPE team from Janabadra University gave problemsolving by creating the moulding machine for UD. Dwi Karya Sejahtera(Small and Medium Enterprise 1) and Frais machine for UD. Mustika Alam(Small and Medium Enterprise 2). The team also gives management trainingfor SMEs.SME's can decrease the broken of raw materials, which are onprocessing from 35% to 5% by using the moulding machine. The SME'sproductivities can increase by using Frais machine, from 102 m2 per monthto 729 m2 craft stone per month. Management training also increases theskill management for entrepreneur of craft stone, from traditional to modernSME's.

Abstract

A voucher program of manufacturing a static hole-making  wood- .chiseling machine for small-scale industrial companies producing wooden furniture was conducted with the objective of increasing the productivity of the wooden furniture production company of Indah Jaya in especially mak­ ing holes for joint construction in the furniture produced. Another objective was to determine the capacity and productivity of the machine itself.The program was conducted through the stages of planning the ma­ chine, manufacturing it, and training company workers in operating it. The planning stage covered the steps of drafting a design of the machine, calcu­ lating the materials for its manufacture, and estimating the cost of the manu­ facture. The manufacturing stage covered the steps of cutting the materials according to the design in the draft, welding some parts together, assem­ bling all the components into a unit, installing electrical appliances in it, testing its performance in operation, and painting it. The training stage co­ vered the steps of delivering a lecture on its theoretical aspects, demonstrat­ ing its operation, and giving company workers practice in operating it.The program has resulted in the actualization of a static hole-makingwood-chiseling machine and in company workers'  acquisition of skills in operating it. With a round iron frame 10 em in diameter combined with a wooden frame 6 cm by 12 ern in size, making it 120 ern by 100 em by 50 em in its dimensions, and powered by an SEM electrical motor generator of12HP and rotation speed of 2800 RPM, in its performance and productivity at making holes of the same form and size in wood the machine has been five to eight times faster than manual tools.Keywords: hole-making  machine, small-scale woodfurniture  industry

Abstract

The Training of batik aims to provide skills in the making of batikand to enrich the matter of art and culture lesson for the teachers of JurnalHigh School in Gunungkidul. The ability and conpetence in making batikthat mastered by teachers are expected to trigger students's interest for themore enthusiastic in following the batik lesson, and ultimately will improvethe overall quality of the learning of art and cukture.The method that is applied on this activity is the method ofpresentation of the matter of batik, including the matter about history ofbatik, tools and material in making the batik. The method of demonstrationincluding the making of design, and the procedures of the making of batikfrom beginning to end. The method of evaluation is by examining thedifferences in the ability of teachers before and after training.The results shown a significant improvement compared beforetraining, so it can be concluded that this activity improved the ability of theparticipants. The evaluation of the results seen from the assessment tasksthat illustrate the successful practice of material that has been presented. Italso examined the performance and participation of the participants. At theend of the program the team captured meaningful data from theparticipants. It is expected that this training program continues because ofits advantages to improve the quality of the learning of art and culture lessonin Jurnal High School..

Abstract

Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pemahaman tentang ciri-ciri dan cara pengembangan soal HOT (Higher Order Thinking) yang berkualitas baik, memberikan pengalaman langsung dalam mengubah soal biasa menjadi soal HOT dan dalam pengembangan soal HOT bagi guru-guru kimia SMA se-Kabupaten Sleman.Sebagai sasaran PPM adalah guru-guru kimia SMA se-Kabupaten Sleman yang dipilih secara random sampling, artinya dipilih satu dari beberapa guru kimia untuk setiap SMA yang ada di Kabupaten Sleman. Kegiatan PPM dilaksanakan pada hari Sabtu berturut-turut pada tanggal 23 April, 11 Juni, dan 23 Juli 2016 masing-masing di SMA 1 Seyegan, SMA N 1 Mlati, dan SMA N 1 Kalasan, menggunakan ceramah, diskusi, dan tanya jawab tentang permasalahan yang berkaitan pengembangan soal HOT, sekaligus latihan mengubah soal biasa menjadi HOT dan tugas kelompok berupa pengembangan soal HOT dan mempresentasikannya.Berdasarkan hasil penilaian yang dilakukan, meliputi penilaian sikap keaktifan, kerjasama, dan tanggung jawab secara berturut-turut berada pada kategori baik, sangat baik, dan baik. Penilaian terhadap penguasaan soal HOT melalui tugas mandiri mengubah soal biasa menjadi soal HOT maupun pengembangan soal HOT secara berkelompok menunjukkan hasil yang belum memuaskan, karena sebagian besar guru belum menguasai dengan baik, sehingga guru perlu belajar lebih giat dan lebih banyak latihan di rumah maupun dalam forum MGMP. Penilaian terhadap unjuk kerja menunjukkan hasil sangat baik. Secara umum kegiatan PPM ini berhasil dan tepat sasaran, terbukti peserta sangat antusias dalam mengikuti kegiatan dari awal sampai akhir dan seluruh peserta menyatakan kegiatan PPM ini bermanfaat. Harapannya, peserta yang hadir berkenan menularkan ilmunya kepada guru lain di sekolahnya maupun sekolah lainnya.

Abstract

Based on the result of Grand Competition and National Strategic research, a result is obtained the field of modification and engineering of audio technology (AOGS; Audio Organic Growth System) unifying foliar and audio intensity variable optimization, which are optimum frequency and intensity to increase productivity and quality of plants which is in accordance with the effort to increase food resilience. This result is definitely very useful to food plant farmers to increase their crop productivity, such that in this community service the activities will be done with some objectives, viz.: (1) introduce the AOGS technology device which uses local insects (garengpung and jangkring, kinjengtangis) as sound sources and also how to operate it; (2) increasing plant productivity (chilli, ground peanut, and onion) which is managed by farmers through application of AOGS technology; and (3) increasing synergic cooperation between farmers and the university. The activities of this community service are done in the framework of workshop starting from introducing SC-AOGS technology, using SC-AOGS device, and through field tests. The achievement indicators of this excellence community service, can be observed from several aspects, including (1) the number of farmers that participate in the workshop is quite a lot and is the target to spread throughout the technology resulted from this community service;(2) the crop harvested turns out to increase such that has an impact on the income of farmers; (3) from the process itself, the involvement of farmers are enthusiastic and spirited. Important events which are observed throughout the activity are (1) AOGS technology initially introduced is considered not known by participants, but after some explanations they understand that this technology is very simple, natural, and environment friendly, and can be easily reproduce by farmers in Kricaan Mesir village, Salam, Magelang District; (2) the participants look enthusiastic with the workshop topics, in the discussion, and actively trying the AOGS device; and also (3) participants are trained to construct and use AOGS and describe implementation plan, which is then given guidance and the device to use

Abstract

The purpose of this training is to practice of the Kindergarden's Teacherswrite children's song as a media of mitigative dissasters. Song is not only asa tool to entertain but alos to teach vocabularly, as well as, to therapy of traumaticat the childrens.This activity involve 35 teachers of Kinderganrden in Cangkringan. Thisactivity has been done in three minnilesons, dated on Juny 25, July first, andJuli Nine. Method of this program is discussion, brainstorming, and demonstration.The result of this program is producing 30 songs has been arranged bythe participants. A theme if these songs is an environment. The participants hasparticipated enthusiasthicly. They have a new knowledge in creating a song andproposes a same program could bee done in next time.
