Abstract

The condition of the spread of the aloe vera industry in Indonesia is relatively small and scattered which has high added value, the use of aloe vera as a raw material for cosmetics and medicines can become an export commodity if maximized. Therefore, it is necessary to pay special attention to the aloe vera commodity and its role in improving the economy in the UMKM industry in Indonesia. This study aims to determine the costs incurred and analyze the income in the Ummi Home Industry aloe vera processing business in Makasar District, East Jakarta.  The scope of this study is the aloe vera processing business at Ummi Home Industry, processed products from aloe vera, namely instant aloe vera (powder), nata de aloe (cocktail), and aloe herbal tea. The data processing and analysis methods used in this study are business income analysis, Return Cost ratio (R/C) Analysis, Benefit and Cost ratio (B/C) Analysis, Break Even Point (BEP) Analysis, and Payback Period (PP) Analysis.Based on the feasibility of the aloe vera processing business, the largest R/C ratio value was obtained in the processed aloe vera herbal tea with a capacity of 25 kg of 11.6. The smallest R/C ratio value is in the processed Nata de Aloe capacity of 1 kg of 2.9. The largest production BEP is in processed Instant Aloe Vera (Powder) with a capacity of 50 kg of 50 pcs with a total production of 200 pcs. The smallest production BEP is in processed aloe vera herbal tea with a capacity of 25 kg of 3 pcs with a total production of 35 pcs. The highest price BEP is in processed Instant Aloe Vera (Powder) with a capacity of 1 kg of Rp. 10,990 with a selling price of Rp. 35,000. The lowest price BEP is in the processed aloe vera herbal tea with a capacity of 25 kg of Rp. 1,727 with a selling price of Rp. 20,000. The fastest Payback Period value is found in aloe vera herbal tea products with a PP value of 0.02 years with an input of 25 kg. The longest Payback Period value is found in The Instant Aloe Vera (Powder) product with an average PP of 0.12 years.

Abstract

 Shallots are a strategic commodity in Indonesia. The potential and benefits that shallot have caused the demand for shallots to increase along with the increasing population. Serang Regency has not been able to meet its high demand. The shortage of local shallot production is met by bringing in shallots from outside Serang Regency.  One of the government's efforts to increase shallot production is the implementation of Program Pof the increase in Produces and Value-Added Horticulture, the purpose of the program is to increase shallot production and farmers' income. How the government intervention is assessed, this research aims to analyze the impact of the Horticultural Production and Value-Added Increase Program on the competitiveness of shallot farming in Serang Regency. This research is descriptive-analytic. The sampling method used is purposive. Data collection was carried out through interviews, observations, and documentation. Data analysis using a policy analysis matrix (PAM). The results showed that the program generates private and social benefits of positive value so that the development of the shallot area can continue to run which is beneficial to farmers and the community, the program is also able to increase farmers' income by 57.17 percent.  The value of the government protection indicator is positive, which means that the government has effectively protected shallot farming.  In addition, result research shows that shallot farming under Program P leveling Produces and Value-Added Horticulture has competitiveness through competitive and comparative advantages so the development of shallot areas in Serang Regency deserves to be prioritized in its development. recommended policy recommendations to increase farmers' income and competitiveness through the efficient use of production inputs that refer to technological advice and increase the capacity of human resources and farmer institutions

Abstract

A business which is quite potential is the development of an ornamental plant rental business on CV. Green Saujana Nursery can be run and on the one hand, it looks quite profitable financially. However, the company has not conducted periodic financial evaluations, so the profits generated by the company are not visible. In business development, income is very important because it is a benchmark for the success of a business, so in its implementation, it is necessary to have good financial management so that the company's goals can be achieved.This study aims to: Find out the costs incurred by the Green Saujana Nursery company. Knowing the amount of income for the ornamental plant rental business in CV. Green Saujana Nursery. Knowing the level of R/C Ratio, Net B/C Ratio, and Payback Period (PP) in the ornamental plant rental business in CV. Green Saujana Nursery.The study used primary and secondary data. Primary data were obtained through interviews with related parties CVs. Green Saujana Nursery in the form of technical and non-technical business data. Secondary data is obtained from company documents such as ornamental plant catalogs for plant rental businesses, and company financial statements such as data on costs incurred and receipts from ornamental plant rental businesses, on CV. Green Saujana Nursery in 2018. Quantitative data is processed using the Microsoft excel 2013 program.The results showed that, the advantages of the ornamental plant rental business in CV. Green Saujana Nursery in 2018 amounted to Rp. 493,918,058 which resulted from a reduction in the value of receipts of Rp. 895,655,000 with a total cost of Rp. 401,736,942. The largest variable costs are labor costs and operational material costs for the purchase of orchids amounting to Rp 153,480,000. The sustainability of the ornamental plant business can be seen from the value of the R / C Ratio and B / C Ratio which produces a value greater than one, so the ornamental plant rental business provides decent profits for CV companies. Green Saujana Nursery. The value of the Payback Period of the plant rental business in CV. Green Saujana Nursery is 0.2 years. Based on these values, it can mean that the ornamental plant rental business in CV. Green Saujana Nursery, can return investment capital in a relatively short time, which is 2 months.

Abstract

This research is backgrounded by the export value of processed cocoa commodities which fluctuates and tends to increase after the issuance of the Exit Duty Policy by the government. Processed Indonesian cocoa has been widely exported abroad but the quality is still lower than in other cocoa exporting countries because Indonesian cocoa beans are still not widely fermented. This study aims to 1) analyze the trade position of Indonesian cocoa processing in the main export destination country, 2) analyze the structure of the cocoa processed market in the main export destination country, 3) analyze the comparative and competitive competitiveness of Indonesian cocoa processing in the main export destination country. The scope of this study includes processed cocoa with the codes HS 1802, HS 1803, HS 1804, HS 1805, and HS 1806 with each four export destination countries. The data used in this study is secondary data from 2009 to 2018. The results of the Herfindahl Index (HI) test obtained the oligopoly market structure in all destination countries of cocoa skin, cocoa paste (except China), cocoa powder, and cocoa fat in Germany and Australia. The monopolistic market structure is found in all chocolate destination countries, including China (cocoa paste), and the American and Dutch markets (cocoa fat). The result for RCA is that all Indonesian processed cocoa commodities except chocolate in Malaysia and Arabia (RCA values of 0.99 and 0.66 respectively) have a comparative advantage with RCA values that are entirely more than one. The results of the EPD test found that Indonesian cocoa processing was in the Rising Star position in the Philippines (cocoa shells and chocolate), China (cocoa paste), India, and the Philippines (cocoa powder).  Falling Star'sposition is in Malaysia and Germany (cocoa shells), all cocoa paste destination countries except China, all cocoa fat destination countries, and Malaysia (cocoa powder and chocolate). Lost Opportunity’s position in China (cocoa powder) and Thailand (chocolate). Retreat positions are in the markets of South Korea (cocoa shells) and Saudi Arabia (chocolate).

Abstract

The world pepper price, which tends to decline, and the increasing production and quality of pepper from competing countries, have also made it difficult for Indonesian pepper to increase its export volume and value.  This study aims to, 1) analyze the structure of the Indonesian pepper market in the international market, 2) analyze the potential competitiveness of Indonesian pepper in terms of comparative and competitive advantages in the international market, 3) analyze the specialization position of the Indonesian pepper trade in the international market. The data used is data for the period 2010-2019.The results of this study are known that the market structure of Indonesian pepper commodities in the United States and Germany is monopolistic. Meanwhile, in the other three main export destination countries, namely Vietnam, India, and Singapore, the market structure of Indonesian pepper commodities is an oligopoly. Based on the average value of RCA, Indonesian pepper commodities have a comparative advantage in five main export destination countries, namely Vietnam, India, the United States, Germany, and Singapore.  The market position of pepper commodities in the two main export destination countries, namely Vietnam and India, is in the falling star position. Meanwhile, in the other three main destination countries of Indonesian pepper, the average value is in a Retreat position. The conclusions of this study show that the market structure of Indonesian pepper commodities in the United States and Germany is monopolistic, while in other countries such as Vietnam, India, and Singapore the market structure is oligopoly. Indonesian pepper commodities have a comparative advantage in five destination countries with an average RCA value of more than 1. The market position of pepper commodities in Vietnam and India is the falling star position, while in the United States, Germany, and Singapore, the average value is in the Retreat position. Indonesian pepper commodities in 4 main export destination countries, namely Vietnam, the United States, Germany, and Singapore are at the maturity stage, while in India it is at the growth stage.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the operating income and added value of processed cow's milk products in the agro-industry of the Cibungbulang Dairy Farming Business Area (KUNAK), Bogor. The location used was selected purposively, namely Papajo and Etzel agroindustry in Cibungbulang District. The sample population consists of business owners and employees, who served as respondents. Data was collected using a list of questions or questionnaires to obtain information, followed by analysis using Microsoft Excel. Subsequently, the income and R/C ratio were calculated, while the Hayami method was used to determine the added value of each product. The results showed that the incomes for yogurt, kefir, and ice cream were IDR29,973,500/month, IDR13,648,334/month, and IDR39,204,167/month, respectively. The R/C ratio of yogurt was 1.4 > 1, kefir 1.6 > 1, and ice cream 3.1 > 1, which indicates that the cow's milk processing business is profitable and feasible. The added value of yogurt, kefir, and ice cream products was IDR14,291/liter, IDR5,619/liter, and IDR 53,900/liter with value-added ratios of 44.66%, 23.41%, and 74.86%, respectively.

Abstract

Gipang cassava is an innovation of one of the local foods from Cilegon, gipang is a traditional food usually made of glutinous rice (one of the rice varieties that only can be found in Asia), peanut, and caramel is one of the local foods from Cilegon. IKA-KE SMI is one of those gipang cassava industries in Cilegon. The food industry is one of the most popular industries. Each industry holds one's own to serve the best product. This research purpose is to analyze the internal and external factors of IKA-KE SMI, formulate alternative strategies that are appropriate to be implemented by IKA-KE SMI, and specify the best alternative strategy for IKA-KE SMI. Data analysis using Matrix IFE and EFE, IE Matrix, SWOT Analysis or SWOT Matrix and QSPM Matrix. The result shows that internal factors have 8 strengths and 6 weaknesses, and external factors have 7 opportunities and 4 threats. Matrix IE shows IKA-KE SMI is in cell II position means that it's in growth and built condition. SWOT Matrix formulate 8 alternative strategies for IKA-KE SMI and QSPM Matrix shows the most recommended alternative with the highest TAS value for IKA-KE SMI to improve promotional campaign and improve online business with a TAS value of 6.825.

Abstract

 PT Intidaya Agrolestari is a company engaged in the agricultural business.  One type of business is the curly chili farming business which is a type of business that has just been carried out and is in the development stage.  The constraints and constraints of seasonal factors in the production of curly chilies greatly affect the amount of output or harvest produced so it greatly affects the income of the farming business. The greater the output or harvest produced, the greater the income received. The objectives of this study are knowing the cost of farming curly red chili in the rainy and dry seasons. Knowing the income of the curly red chili farming business in the rainy season. Knowing the feasibility of farming curly red chili in the rainy and dry seasons by using the R/C ratio, B/C ratio, and Break Event Point (BEP).The results of this study show that the total cost of farming curly chili in the rainy season with a land area of 1 Ha, namely Rp. 128,574,400, is greater when compared to the total cost of farming curly chili in the dry season with a land area of 1 Ha, namely Rp. 117,691,400, -. The total income of curly chili farming in the rainy season with a land area of 1 Ha is Rp. 28,425,875, -greater than the income of curly chili farming in the dry season with a land area of 1 Ha which suffered a loss of Rp. 77,691,400. Analysis of the Income Level of curly chili farming in the rainy season with a land area of 1 Ha in terms of R/C ratio, B/C ratio, and BEP can be said to be feasible to continue. Because it obtained an R/C ratio value of more than 1, which is 1.22 B/C ratio of more than 0, which is 0.22, and has produced a total production of 5,627.25 kg, with a selling price of Rp. 27,900, each of which has passed the production BEP value of 4,608 kg and the BEP price value of Rp. 22,849. Meanwhile, the Income Level Analysis of curly chili farming in the dry season with a land area of 1 ha as seen from the R/C ratio, B/C ratio, and BEP can be said to be unfit. Because it obtained an R/C ratio of less than 1, namely 0.34, a B/C ratio of less than 0, which is -0.66, and has produced a total production of 1000 kg, with a selling price of Rp. 20,000, each of which does not exceed the limit of the production BEP value of 5,885 kg and the BEP price value of Rp. 58,846.

Abstract

Apples are one of the subtropical fruits with the highest volume compared to other imported fruits from 2008 to 2017. The high volume of imported apples is caused by the fact that domestic apple production is not sufficient for consumption. This study aims to see what factors can influence the importance of apples in Indonesia and what factors have the greatest influence. The variables used in this study are local apple production, consumption of Indonesian apples, real GDP per capita of developing countries, real GDP per capita of Indonesia, economic distance, real exchange rates, and Indonesian population. This research uses panel data regression analysis method with PPML Gravity Model estimation approach. This study uses cross section data, namely 9 countries that have apples to Indonesia and time series data, namely Indonesian apple import data for 10 years from 2008 to 2017. The commodity studied was fresh apples with HS code 080810. The variables that have a significant effect on import volume apples in Indonesia, namely real GDP per capita of developing countries, real GDP per capita of Indonesia, economic distance, and population of Indonesia.

Abstract

Tofu is one of the popular processed soybean products for the people of Indonesia. UKM Wahyu Utama is one of the medium-scale tofu processing industries in Bogor Regency, with tofu products sold, namely white tofu which consists of small tofu products and large tofu products. Wahyu Utama UKM, which has been operating since 2018, unfortunately, does not have a systematic cost recording, does not know the income that has been obtained, has not calculated its business efficiency, and is also faced with sales of tofu products in 2021 which tend to decline. The objectives of this study are (1) to Analyzing the cost structure of UKM Wahyu Utama in producing tofu; (2) to Analyze the income of the tofu production business in the Wahyu Utama UKM; (3) to Analyze the level of B/C Ratio, Break Even Point (BEP), and Payback Period (PP) in tofu production business in Wahyu Utama UKM; (4) Analyze the profitability of tofu production business in Wahyu Utama UKM. Types of quantitative research with descriptive analysis. The data source uses primary data and secondary data. The data analysis used is a descriptive analysis to determine the general description of the company, business cost structure, and business income analysis to measure receipts, and revenue, followed by business analysis with B/C Ratio, Break Even Point (BEP), and Payback Period (PP), as well as business profitability analysis with Margin of Safety (MOS) and Marginal Income Ratio (MIR). The results showed that (1) The variable costs needed by UKM Wahyu Utama have a higher percentage compared to fixed costs. (2) Tofu product business revenue in UKM Wahyu Utama in 2021 amounted to Rp 1,234,274,167. (3) The B/C Ratio value in small tofu products is 0.19 and in large tofu products, which is 0.15 (4) The profitability obtained from small tofu products is 16.38 percent, and large tofu products are 13.08 percent.
