Abstract

The goal of reliability-based design optimization (RBDO) is to find the optimal structure design with minimum cost subjected to maximum failure probability limit. Since failure probability is usually small, it takes a large amount of computation time for accurate estimation in reliability analysis. Surrogate models usually created to replace the time-consuming reliability analysis. In this empirical study, we use several data mining methods with focus on classification and regression tree (CART), artificial neural network (ANN) and support vector machine (SVM) method to create the surrogate models on a empirical benchmark case study. We aim to find the best data mining method in predicting the failure probability which divided into two parts: classification and regression. The main findings of this study is that CART method performed better than ANN and SVM in both classification and regression. Support vector machine (SVM) method is the worst in both cases.

Abstract

AbstractThe relation between architecture and the era is always arguable. There are two conditions which describe this relation, at first architecture as a reflection of an era and architecture reflects the timelessness. The later condition commonly becomes a standard of value to judge the architecture is irrelevant with an era by forgetting the first condition. Siola is experiencing both of conditions. A lot of proposals to ‘regain’ its golden time by put intention into heroism or historical background are offered. Many of those efforts focus on how to get the building back like its origin and it’s to be used. Analysis concentrates on‘re-functioning’ which means not to take the function back as its origin but to give the new role by considering the contemporary context? Nostalgic and Romantic aspect has critically seen as the opportunity to take appropriate manner toward better improvement of urban living quality. Siola itself is a landmark which escalating the socio-cultural and economic in Tunjungan corridor. According to historical timeline, many functions are implemented in Siola building before. This historical fact leads the vision that function is changeable within less-changing physical appearance. Furthermore, the main task is to encourage the spirit of people by design strategy and to put it within the building. To trigger the spirit of people evoke the spirit of place.

Abstract

DKI Jakarta as the capital of Indonesia is the region with the highest population density in Indonesia caused the spread of population to neighboring areas such as Bogor, Depok, Tangerang and Bekasi. Highly movement in the Greater Jakarta area resulting congestion problems, and one of the transportations that can carry large capacity with highly speed is Commuterline Jabodetabek. As the highly demand of people who use Commuterline Jabodetabek, KCJ Company needs to be accompanied by improved quality of service. The purpose of the study is to determine the service performance of Commuterline and its infrastructure and determine the direction of services performance improvement for Commuterline. Service performance is divided into two kinds:  Commuterline as a moda and Station such as security, safety, regularity, comfort, convenience and equality aspects used Importance Performance Analysis (IPA). The results of service then becomes an input in the determination of alternative repair used Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). The results showed that there are eight aspects that must be corrected for commuterline such as information and health facilities, information and safety facilities, security guards, security facility, punctuality of travel, seating and space for standing passengers, information of travel disruption and facilities for passengers with disabilities. The highest priority to improve service performance is the use of sensors on the door of commuterline.

Abstract

Information technology growth provides a lot of opportunity for business and industries. Information technology provide chances to business and industries to improve their ability effectiveness and efficiency. Information technology provide more effective data which can be use to analyze the business process. But many business and industry specially home industry which cannot take the advantage of information technology growth and effect to loss opportunity to built time to market correctly and can predicted market behaviors. There are several factors that affected in decisions making related to the use of information technology are factor cognitive, affective factors, physical factors and external factors that can be analyzed to determine the effect the relationship between the four factors in decision making.

Abstract

Lingkungan tidak akan terlepas dari kehidupan manusia. Perubahan di dalamnya mempengaruhi faktor kesehatan, sosial, ekonomi, dan budaya. Lingkungan yang menghasilkan particulate matter berasal dari hasil alam dan kegiatan manusia. Salah satu kegiatan manusia yang dihasilkan adalah pembakaran dari aktivitas merokok terutama di ruang tertutup. Pengaruh kesehatan adanya particulate matter adalah potensi terjadinya gangguan pernapasan. Monitoring kualitas udara diperlukan sebagai evaluasi kondisi lingkungan. Pengukuran kualitas udara dilakukan di Kota Surabaya dengan pembagian yang proporsional yaitu Surabaya pusat, Surabaya utara, Surabaya selatan, Surabaya barat, dan Surabaya timur. Pengukuran secara kuantitatif untuk megukur konsentrasi  particulate matter berukuran kurang dari 2,5 micron (PM2,5). Pengukuran  dilakukan di beberapa tempat di Kota Surabaya pada tahun 2015 menunjukkan bahwa sebesar 53% konsentrasi PM2,5 melebihi ambang batas yang ditetapkan WHO yaitu > 25µg/m3. Tempat umum merupakan tempat yang terbanyak dengan PM2,5 yang melebihi ambang batas. Pada tempat umum sebagai tempat hiburan tertutup dan adanya aktivitas merokok konsentrasi PM2,5 melebihi ambang batas yang ditetapkan yaitu 18 kali lebih besar dari standar. Potensi gangguan kesehatan tidak hanya diaami oleh perokok aktif namun dapat berdampak pada perokok pasif baik secondary smoker atau tertiary smoker. Diperlukan adanya kebijakan yang melindungi masyarakat seluruhnya terhadap potensi gangguan kesehatan yang ditimbulkan dari aktivitas merokok. Kebijakan dengan penegakan smoke-free area di tempat umum dan juga pada  sarana yang lain yang telah ditetapkan oleh pemerintah dengan adanya undang – undang atau peraturan.

Abstract

Padi Pomahan Irrigation Area has a lack of sufficient amount of water at the downstream area in dry season. This problem is caused by some factors such as the exploitation of drinking water, climate change, land use change, and the damage of irrigation channel. The performance of irrigation channel and its facilities compared with the situation nearly 20 years later has never been evaluated and measured due to the limited of the preliminary data. With the area of 4309 hectares managed by two offices (UPT Pugeran and UPT Tangunan), the coordination become more complex to manage the irrigation water in this area. This paper aims to analyze the irrigation performance at tertiary level to measure the performance of six indicators/criterions such as physical infrastructure, plant productivity, personnel organization, operation and maintenance (OM), documentation, and institutional condition of water user associations (P3A / GP3A / IP3A). The results of its performance are expected to obtain the handling priority at the tertiary level in this irrigation system by Indonesian government. The total irrigation performance In Padi Pomahan obtains 61.0%. The result model of AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) obtains the result of personnel organization 28.9% (rank 1), plant productivity 20.3% (rank 2),  physical infrastructures 16.8% (rank 3), operation and maintenance (OM 14.2% (rank 4), institutional condition of water user associations ( P3A / GP3A / IP3A) 10.5% (rank 5) and   documentation 9.3% (rank 6). The ARP model obtains CGI value 0.13 and Consistency Ratio (CR) 0.036.

Abstract

OJK (Financial Services Authority) in collaboration with  Indonesia Bank issued smart services and Bank XYZ (Persero) Tbk issued Agent link which is a non-office financial transaction service and link agent is an extension of XYZ Bank and XYZ (Persero) Tbk Branch X. Total agency x in 2018 as many as 57 agents. And the performance of link agents built by Surabaya branch X office for its transaction is low compared to the branch office built by Surabaya area office. This research is conducted to analyze the strategies implemented to help increase transaction agent linkage in Surabaya X branch office using SWOT analysis based on Business Model Canvas to improve performance in terms of several aspects and for decision stage using QSPM and the result with (TAS) on external factors is greater than the internal factor TAS, that’s means the right strategy decision to improve performance of Agent Link on Bank XYZ is by extensification. method it is expected that the company can use it as a foothold in deciding policy or evaluation of improvement on company

Abstract

Making and testing of sound insulation materials from natural fiber composite (Galam wood fiber and polyester matrix) to analyze sound transmission loss and modulus of elasticity. Wood material chosen due to the availability of abundant so easyily obtained and also a waste Galam wood is wasted in the process of building construction. Natural fiber shape that used is sawdust and wood chips and using unsaturated polyester as matrix. Speciment made in disc shape with 10 cm of diameter and 6 mm thick. Sound intensity measured in insulated room with sound level meter and speaker as sensor and source and run with variation in frequency of transmitted sound wave. With sound transmission loss theory, sound insulating capability could be analyzed. Measurement of modulus of elasticity is needed as a consideration in their application. The result of this research are sound insulation property is less than matrices even the critical frequency was reduced and elasticity was increasing with increasing of the composition of the filler material.

Abstract

The use of link element in high rise buildings has been applied widely and proven to be effective in the eccentric braced frame system. Latest research has also shown that the applicability of link element can be extended to other type of structural systems, such as: coupled wall system or structures with core wall. The research showed that the use of link element could lead to better deformation capacity of the system and the link elements could act as a “fuse” to limit the input of earthquake force. However, the improvement of the seismic behavior may not be effective for any type of structural system. This paper investigates analytically parameters affecting the effectiveness of the application of shear link elements within a structural system. Several parameters being studied are the relative stiffness between link element and structural stiffness, types of structural configuration, etc.

This article gives information for researcher to do research in Japanese Universities based on author’s experience and some literatures. Researchers may obtain research opportunities with Japanese Universities through postdoctoral fellowship program provided by Japanese Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS). Other financial supports to make research collaboration with Japanese Universities may also be applied through JSPS program. In addition, author summarized tips for scientific publications  both  in  international  conferences  and journals. The tips may help researchers to write a scientific article to be published in an international journal
