Abstract

Indonesia as one of the biggest maritime country in the world, makes sea transportation an important mode of transportation in Indonesia. A sea transportation is a vessel owned by a shipowner or shipping company. The owners have responsibilities in the operation of vessels and its cargos. Shipowners barely understand the risks that follow them on the sailing such as PT X. This private company is one of shipping companies that has sailing route from Surabaya to west Indonesia. High level of vessel accidents in west Indonesia makes the Java Sea a risk-prone area by NTSC. This paper reports interview with PT X and validated by a marine expert to analyze risk factors in vessels. The method conducted was a survey to collect mean index data for probability risk analysis. It is identified that the highest probability of risk is caused by the lack of experiences from the crews, work accidents on the boat, high fuel cost and others. Hence, this report concludes that this examination of risk probability of ship events to a ship company shows types of risk that have the highest probability in order to be mitigated so that the loss will be able to be reduced

Abstract

Delivery cargo is a job of moving goods from the pile or a heap in the warehouse, handing it to be arranged on the vehicle and sending it to the receiving warehouse (consignee). The delivery of goods in the form of fertilizer carried out by PT. PUSRI (Pupuk Sriwijaya) at the Port of Tanjung Emas Semarang from the first line warehouse to each branch of the receiving warehouse throughout Indonesia experienced problems. The problem faced in the activities of the cargo delivery is the delay in the process of shipping goods caused by one of them by a bad warehouse inventory management system so that dwelling time is getting longer. Therefore, a good warehouse inventory management system is needed. This system has several functions, among others, as storing detailed information of goods and pointing to the location of goods. Warehouse inventory management system created with the Internet of Things was developed to track the goods / products that were previously recorded. In monitoring all information used Aduino. the web was built to provide comfort and ease in finding goods / products. With this system the cost required is low and efficient and very easy to use.

Abstract

A company has a main target to make a profit. However, in these years there are some private company and State-Owned Enterprises has financial trouble and suffered financial losses. Some of those financial trouble is caused by chaotic management and high ratio of debt that causing the risk of failed paying. Successful corporation management is strongly related with applying good corporate governance (GCG). This research aim to analyze the impact of good corporate governance (boards of commissioners, boards of independent commissioners, boards of directors, institutional ownerships) as non-financial aspect and leverage as financial aspect of financial performance. This research is a qualitative research using theoretical review and supported by the previous research. There are two theories as the basic theories to observing the previous research which is agency and trade off theory. The result of the analysis of some previous research found some proposition: (1) boards of commissioners has impact to financial performance, (2) boards of independent commissioners has impact to financial performance, (3) boards of directors has impact to financial performance, (4) institutional ownerships has impact to financial performance, and (5) leverage has impact to financial performance

Abstract

The distribution network is the most important strategic decision issues that need to be optimized for the efficient operation of whole supply chain. When a company make a business acquisition that brings more distribution facilities, the location allocation planning of the distribution network needs to be reconsidered. The distribution network includes the link from factories to packing plants and from factories or packing plants to demand points. The linear programming model was developed as a solution to solve optimization problem which involves multisource, multiproduct, and multipored in multi-echelon distribution network. We build numerical experiments from two scenarios to show the behaviour of this model. This model will determine the decision of distribution facilities location should be used and quantities should be allocated to achieve the optimal operating income considering the market share policy to satisfy the customer demands.

Abstract

Based on Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) press release, the investment realization in Indonesia for the period of 2015-2018 shows a positive trend. In addition, the issuance of Presidential Regulation No. 24 of 2018 related to Online Single Submission (OSS) which facilitates the issuance of licensing in Indonesia. This has a direct impact on the consulting firms, as the Foreign Investment Company (PT PMA) tends to transfer their internal activities to service provider companies to provide opportunities to fulfill their objectives to gain competitive advantage. Seeing this great potential, leads to growth in companies engaged in consulting. In Jakarta alone, there were at least 66 consulting firms which are working in similar field. During project completion, there are several obstacles causing delays in project delivery namely transfer of knowledge that was that was not carried out effectively due to changes in regulations. This research uses a qualitative method in the form of interviews processed through coding categorization, observation & archive at a consulting firm, BDO Indonesia. Furthermore, knowledge management systems, SECI and knowledge flow are presented. The result of this research shows the importance of knowledge management perspective to overcome the project delivery delays in the consulting firm.

Abstract

The Balikpapan Samarinda Toll Road Project built 99 km has a relatively short implementation time of 3 years. The accuracy of project completion is closely related to the procurement of materials during the implementation period. Risk analysis based on ISO 31000: 2009 where the risk of delay in procurement of materials is included in the extreme category with a high level of probability and severe impact. Risk analysis is carried out qualitatively, that is, determining risk priorities by determining the likelihood of events and their effects on project performance. Material procurement delays still occur due to various factors that have not been mitigated in the planned risk analysis. This resulted in project performance not on schedule. The purpose of this study is to provide a proactive framework for managing material procurement risks. The method used is the House of Risk (HOR) from the literature study. The HOR method is very commonly used in supply chain risk management. The HOR method focuses on preventive actions determining the main risk agents and the priority of preventive actions. The advantages of this method are in the framework that can cover the whole process of risk management. Phase 1 of HOR begins with the identification of risk events and phase 2 of risk treatment. This framework allows management to select priority risk agents to be mitigated and prioritize proactive actions to reduce the impact of risk events. The results of the study are 14 risk events and 15 risk agents that can occur in the material procurement process. From the Paretto Diagram, 4 risk agents were selected, namely schedule changes became faster, bill payments required a long period of time, problems in supplier selection, and material fabrication time. Based on the analysis of preventive action 3 actions proposed in this study are coordinating with the finance department to monitor supplier bills, coordinate with production for proper procurement schedules, and evaluate suppliers.

Abstract

Micro-businesses in the culinary industry often experience management constraints. Poor management leads to many losses and wastes, such as inventory waste that arises due to mismatch of production level with demand level. This research aims to learn how the micro-business conditions in the culinary industry in Bandung deal with the problem of inventory waste and find suitable methods to overcome the problem. To carry out the research, we conduct a mix method technique. Data were collected through interviews with respondents who involved in micro-scale culinary businesses in Bandung and also from sales reports of internal data from Yama, a micro-scale company engaged in the culinary business. We analyzed the data using a qualitative method and a single-period inventory model. From the research, we found that the micro-business condition in the culinary industry has currently run their waste inventory management based on intuition without a scientific approach. Also, to solve the wasted inventory problem, the single-period inventory model can reduce the amount of inventory waste and can be implemented. It can significantly increase Yama's opportunity to make a profit and decreasing the possibility of inventory waste due to unsold inventory

Abstract

One of the main keys to establishing a company’s facilities is to determine the best location with consideration of proximity to customers. After determining the location using the P-Center method, the company aims to maximize its profit by minimizing the distribution costs. It can be minimized by finding the shortest route. The best route determination method used in this study is the Capacitated Vehicle Routing Problem. The initial solution was obtained from data processing with the Nearest Neighborhood algorithm. The routes obtained from this method are optimal local results so that they can still be optimized to obtain the optimal global results. The results will be reprocessed with improvement heuristics method, namely Simple Local Search to get the most optimal results. From this data processing, it will produce an output in the form of the location of the best facility and route construction by producing the minimum total of distribution cost.
