Abstract

An assessment of the performance of a foreign bank can be done by analyzing its financial statements. Financial performance of foreign banks in Indonesia when viewed from ROA has not been satisfactory. The aim of this study is to analyze whether the LDR, NPL, BOPO, and CAR have significant influence simultaneously and partially to ROA foreign banks. The paper is conceptual and qualitative in nature. This study examines 8 previous studies that discussed the effect of liquidity, asset quality, efficiency and solvability of profitability in banks. The Study followed a descriptive research design and used secondary data obtained from the company annual reports and partly from the foreign bank. There are one basic theory about signaling theory and previous research found some propositions : 1) LDR have significant effect to ROA, 2) NPL have significant effect to ROA, 3) BOPO have significant effect to ROA, 4) CAR have significant effect to ROA. The implication of this research can be used as input for banks in managing business risk in an effort to obtain the expected level of profit

Abstract

Disruption of technology requires businesses to perform digital transformation in its product marketing, one of which includes owning an e-commerce website. By having an e-commerce website, businesses get detailed consumer behavior patterns from their visits. This pattern of behavior can be utilized for future business process development. The importance of the existence of this e-commerce website requires businesses to be able to provide the best service when consumers access the website. In this research, the appropriate methods are formulated for businesses to improve the quality of their e-commerce services. In previous studies, Web Quality and Refined Kano methods are often used to improve the quality of e-commerce services. Although the two methods are often integrated to find more accurate recommendations, the recommendations produced are still subjective and have a high level of ambiguity. To reduce the level of subjectivity and ambiguity, it is necessary to integrate fuzzy logic into Web Quality and Refined Kano. The integration of fuzzy, Web Quality, and Refined Kano methods is expected to provide the most accurate and objective recommendations for businesses to improve the quality of their e-commerce services.

Abstract

PT XYZ is one of the largest manufacturing industry companies in Indonesia, that using multiple project management. Several concurrent projects existed, or also referred as multiple project management. Multiple project often cause several problems, such as the long duration of the project because of wrong determining priorities and limited resources. These problems certainly affect the success of the project in general. The success of the project is measured by the project iron triangle, that is budget, quality and time. Success of a project is important, and many research has been done to determine the project success factors. However, there is still limited research related to multiple projects. This is exploratory research, and initial stage where researchers will determine the factors that support the success of multiple projects. Following the variable identification from literature study, a survey was conducted. This research use exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and mean vs standard deviation analysis. Results of the study, success factors of multiple projects formed six factors including communication, organizational, technical, external, resource, and project factors. As a recommendation for the company, which factors are significant are seen from the results of the mean analysis, with the highest significance results are : (1) Material availability; (2) Realistic planning; and (3) Manager's competence

Abstract

PT PGN LNG Indonesia (PGN LNG) aims to develop the LNG business that consists of natural gas liquefaction, LNG storage and shipment, and regasification to natural gas. Since July 2014, PGN LNG has been operating Floating Storage Regasification Unit (FSRU) which located 21km offshore from Lampung. In order to support PGN LNG operation on FSRU related to requirement of Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) data of personnel onboard vessel, PGN LNG developed a system to mitigate potential hazards and risk that called Personal Safety Logbook (PSLB). PSLB consist of personnel data of identity, basic sea survival certificate, and health. Since July 2014 to December 2016 registration of PSLB data done manually by collecting registration paper filled by applicant and approved by management. Based on the evaluation conducted by management, it showed implementation of manual registration requires long approval time. In this case, PGN LNG require system that reduces approval time and provides comprehensive information. In July 2016, Department HSSE has been developed an online e-PSLB Application that started to be implemented in January 2017. Until December 2019 it has already done 846 PSLB submissions with an average 282 per year. Based on the analysis of the data, it showed that if still using manual PSLB Registration in the period of January 2017 until December 2019 it is required total cost of Rp.333,630,000 in three years. Whereas when compared with the use of e-PSLB within same period, it is required a total cost of Rp176,846,741. In addition, reviewed from the completion duration of one Manual PSLB takes 3 hours 15 minutes, while e-PSLB only takes 45 minutes. Therefore, based on the results of the analysis of e-PSLB proved effective and efficient in assisting operation excellence of PGN LNG.

Abstract

This paper briefly discusses the inventory management of coal in a cement industry. The cement company uses coal as fuel in the production process. Continuous production process must be maintained, thus the coal supply must be met to the production demand. In this study, we develop a dynamic simulation of coal inventory control system. We implemented periodic review system (P system) and continuous review system (Q system) method. Our simulation scenario consider some decision variables such as supply, variation of demand, and fluctuation of demand in order to understand the behaviour of the proposed model. This method is expected to provide recommendations for improve the inventory control policies in determining the optimum amount of coal in the warehouse and the optimal interval between orders with a minimum total inventory cost at uncertainty demand condition of product clinker and cement.

Abstract

IPLT Keputih is one and only fecal sludge treatment plant in Surabaya City. As mentioned on Perda No 1 Tahun 2016 Kota Surabaya, fecal sludge is one of the public services with current retribution cost of Rp. 15.000/m3. However, the retribution cost does not cover all fecal sludge treatment cost, rather merely as indicator for public participation to treat their fecal sludge. Throughout 2014-2018, the number of treated fecal sludge in IPLT Keputih is 134.537,52 m3 while the fecal sludge potential is up to 2.756.146,5 m3. In order to increase public participation, it is necessary to review value and sytem of fecal sludge treatment and adjust it with local economic condition. In addition, to support the treatment potential, IPLT Keputih also needs some optimization in the retribution management. The method used in this study is started by collecting primary and secondary data about the treatment and retribution system. Laboratory test result will be the basic of process performance. After all data are complete, there will be some analysis based on the evaluation of process and operation, improvement process and operation recommendation based on process experiment, and retribution system optimization. To optimize the value of retribution and system, the optimal value of retribution and maximum service (treatment and desludging) is Rp. 12.000/month combined with PDAM retribution. This will in return increase public participation in fecal sludge treatment.

Abstract

PT Y is a subsidiary of Y Group which specializes in producing speakers for local and international markets. At present PT Y's orders have not met the expected performance targets. Fulfillment of production orders reached 97.55% of the target of 100%. This is one of the concern of Y Group that PT Y need to improve themselves because it can result in companies becoming less competitive than competitors. Based on preliminary observations, there was indications of waste, namely defects, downtime, and process delays. The lean tool used for further waste analysis is Lean Assessment Matrix (LAM). The results of the research show that the waste which gives the most significant influences are transportation, waiting and inventory. The root causes of problems between work stations are not ergonomic, do not have preventative maintenance schedules, there are no standards for handling defective products, the layout of the room is not in the direction of material, the carrying capacity of hand trucks is small, and the Outgoing Quantity Check (OQC) processes are not included in the company’s time standards. The proposed improvement recommendations include conducting training to improve product repair skills, relayout of production plant, and making a preventative machine maintenance schedule.

Abstract

Gas and steam power plant (PLTGU) is a power plant that can operate very quickly from start-up to generate electric power as quick as fifteen minutes compared with steam power plant which takes eight hours. PLTGU can use gas fuel, HSD (High Speed Diesel), MFO (Marine Fuel Oil) as the operating fuel and so that can be said generating reliable and flexible because it can operate in two modes of cycle, open cycle and combine cycle. Power Plant performance sometimes does not match with what we expected, we need a strategy in order to achieve optimal performance. The problem is the generation performance decrease from its optimal condition due to the plant aging, operation and governance pattern. Power Plant XYZ has not achieved the expected performance from 2015 to 2018 which still below 95% averages out of expected target 95% to 100%. In order to improve the performance this research is used KPKU (Kriteria Performa Kinerja Unggul) methods which adopted from the Malcolm Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellent (MBCFPE). The purpose of this study is to boost the company's competitive advantage, improve performance on an ongoing basis, and to achieve the vision and mission and objectives of the company.
