Abstract

Inland swamp water has low pH value 3-4, there fore is not suitable for striped catfish culture. Liming is one of the efforts to increase the pH of water. This research aims to increase the swamp water pH for survival rate and grow of catfish. This research used a completely randomized design four treatments and three replications with doses of 0,6 kg.m-2 equvalent to CaCO3 (P1), 0,9 kg.m-2 equvalent to CaCO3 (P2), 1,2 kg.m-2 equvalent to CaCO3 (P3) and 1,5 kg.m-2 equvalent to CaCO3 (P4). The parameters are water quality (temperature, pH, DO, ammonia, alkalinity, and hardness), growth and survival rate of striped catfish. The result showed that (P2) was the best treatment for increasing swamp water pH from 3,6 to 7,57 and soil pH from 3,5 to 7,60, survival rate 86,7%, absolute growth length 4,35 and absolute growth weight 8,30 g and feed efficiency 73,53%.

Abstract

The thyroxine has been known as a hormone that can increase fish growth especially in the larvae stage. The provision of hormone thyroxine on larvae fish can be conducted through dipping. Determination of dipping time are very important to increase growth. The purposes of this research are determining the optimum dipping time for the growth and survival rate of snakehead larvae. This research was done at Laboratorium Dasar Perikanan, Aquaculture, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Sriwijaya, Indralaya. The method used Competely Randomized Design (RAL) with five treatments and three replicates, with dipping time are 24, 27, 30, 33 and 36 hours. The parameters observed are the absolute length growth, absolute weight growth, survival rate of larvae and water quality (temperature, pH and disolved oxygen). The results showed that the duration of immersion in thyroxine hormone solution in snakehead larvae showed relatively faster growth on treatment (P5) with 36 hours of dipping time. While the regression test result showed the optimal growth of snakehead larvae at the time immersion for 27,92 – 29,49 hours. Thyroxine hormone increased the growth of snakehead larvae but has no statistically significant effect. The length of time of thyroxine hormone 24-36 hours with a dosage of 0.1 mg l-1 did not affect the survival of snakehead larvae. Water quality of maintenance media is still tolerance for supporting the growth and survival of snakehead larvae.

Abstract

Masculinization is one method of sex reversal technique that can direct the sex of fish. The aim of this research is to know the effect of different concentration ofcoconut waterto percentage of male guppy fish through immersion method.This research was conducted in August - October 2018 at Fisheries Basic Laboratory, Program Study of Aquaculture, Sriwijaya University. This research used completely randomized design (CRD) with four treatments and three replications i.e without coconut water (P0), coconut water 20%(P1), coconut water 30% (P2) and coconut water 40% (P3). The observed parameters were the percentage of male guppy, survival rate and water quality (temperature, pH, ammonia and dissolved oxigen). The result showed the percentage of male guppy was 46.66 % (P0), 70.00 % (P1), 80.00 % (P2) and 83.33 % (P3). Water  quality during maintenance were temperature 20.1 – 28.9 0C, pH 6.5 – 7.2, DO 3 – 6.8 mg/L, and ammonia 0.01 – 0.09 mg/L.  Masculinization is one method of sex reversal technique that can direct the sex of fish. Abstract

Permasalahan yang sering dialami oleh pembudidaya ikan termasuk yang dihadapi oleh kelompok pembudidaya ikan di Desa Pandan Arang saat ini belum mampu memproduksi benih ikan lele secara mandiri sehingga ketersediaan benih untuk usaha pembesaran budidaya ikan lele masih mengandalkan dari daerah lain. Tujuan pengabdian ini dilakukan untuk memberikan edukasi pada masyarakat, sehingga bisa diterapkan untuk membantu meningkatkan produksi benih ikan lele secara mandiri dan berkelanjutan. Kegiatan dilaksanakan di Desa Pandan Arang, Kecamatan Kandis Kabupaeten Ogan Ilir, Sumatera Selatan. Waktu pelaksanaan sosialisasi hingga pendampingan produksi pada bulan Oktober-Desember tahun 2020 dan dilanjutkan monitoring evaluasi pasca kegiatan pada tahun 2021. Demplot dilakukan pada satu indukan ikan lele yang menjadi percontohan sekaligus Praktik Lapangan mahasiswa program studi budidaya perairan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukan bahwa, tingkat serapan pengetahuan peserta berdasarkan indikator yaitu 60-80%, dari tidak tahu menjadi tahu tentang pemijahan semi alami ikan lele. Tingkat keterampilan peserta berdasarkan indikator 75-100 %, dari tidak bisa menjadi bisa membenihkan ikan lele

Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan : Menganalisis kualitas air diperairan  sekitar budidaya ikan patin siam dalam keramba sebagai upaya pengelolaan perairan Sungai Komering di Sirah Pulau Padang. Penelitian dilakukan di Kecamatan Sirah Pulau Padang Kabupaten Ogan Komering Ilir Sumatera Selatan yang banyak budidaya ikan dalam keramba bulan Mei 2017. Lokasi pengambilan sampel ditentukan sebanyak  3 stasiun pengambilan sampel yang dianggap mewakili lokasi penelitian yaitu stasiun 1 (Ulak Jermun) berjarak 100 m sebelum lokasi budidaya, stasiun 2 (Desa Mangun Jaya) pada lokasi budidaya dan stasiun 3 (Desa Terusan Menang) berjarak 100 m setelah lokasi budidaya ikan dalam keramba. Sampling dilakukan 3 hari sekali. Titik pengambilan sampel pada setiap stasiun sebanyak 3 kali pengambilan dengan stasiun pengambilan sampel.Berdasarkan hasil pengukuran nilai  kualitas air, suhu berkisar 27,3-28,0 oC, kecerahan 40-42,44 cm, oksigen terlarut berkisar 3,31-4,18 mg/l, pH berkisar 6,5-6,6, karbondioksida 3,83-3,85 mg/l, amonia berkisar 0,178-0,244 mg/l, fosfat berkisar 0,21-0,22 mg/l dan nitrat sebesar 0,112-0,158 mg/l , maka kualitas air perairan sungai Komering Kecamatan Sirah Pulau Padang masih baik untuk peruntukan perikanan. Kata Kunci : Ikan Patin, Kualitas Air, Sungai Komering

Abstract

Abstrak Potensi sumberdaya perikanan budidaya pada perairan sungai merupakan peluang besar untuk pengembangan budidaya ikan dalam keramba. Pemeliharaan ikan dalam keramba di sungai jika tidak dilaksanakan dengan prinsip berkelanjutan (sustainability) akan menimbulkan dampak penurunan mutu perairan yang digunakan dan tidak dapat dimanfaatkan secara berkelanjutan. Penelitian dilakukan bulan Mei  2017 di sungai Komering pada Desa Ulak Jermun, Mangun Jaya dan Terusan Menang Kecamatan Sirah Pulau Padang kabupaten Ogan Komering Ilir. Analisis SWOT jumlah total skor pembobotan variabel internal yaitu 5,66 dalam posisi unggul dalam persaingan dan nilai total faktor eksternal sebesar 5,64 bahwa posisi dominan berkembang dan usaha ideal. Berdasarkan faktor strategi internal dan eksternal hasil pembobotan dan rating dilakukan pembuatan strategi didasarkan atas besarnya jumlah skor dari faktor internal dan eksternal adalah sebagai berikut : Strategi S – O =  2,86 + 3,00  = 5,86, meningkatkan jumlah produksi budidaya ikan patin agar dapat memenuhi permintaan pasar yang cenderung meningkatkan tiap tahunnya; meningkatkan koordinasi dengan lembaga-lembaga pemerintah dan memanfaatkan potensi SDM yang ada; terus melakukan inovasi dan penggunaan teknologi mutakhir untuk menunjang kualitas budidaya perikanan yang lebih baik.Kata Kunci : Ikan Patin, Keramba, Analisis SWOTAbstrak Potensi sumberdaya perikanan budidaya pada perairan sungai merupakan peluang besar untuk pengembangan budidaya ikan dalam keramba. Abstract

Siamese Fighting Fish (Betta splendens) Masculinization Using Coconut Water (Cocos nucifera) With Immersion Embrio Method. pp. 74-81. Most of male ornamental fish  have attractive color than female including Siamese fighting fish. Thus, male production is more preferable by farmer due to high demand on it. Sex reversal is a technology that reverses the direction of genital development from female to male (masculinization) or male to female (feminization). This research aims to determine the sex ratio of male fish resulting from immersion of Siamese fighting fish embryo with coconut water. This research was conducted at Basic Fisheries Laboratory Program Study of Aquaculture, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University on February-March 2018. This research used randomized complete design (RCD) method with three treatments and three replications with 0% (control), 10% and 20%. The results showed concentration 10% resulted the best male percentage of siamese fighting fish i.e 91.06%. The highest hatching percentage was 90%, (at 0% concentration). The highest percentage of survival rate of Siamese fighting fish was 89% (concentration 20%). Embryonic immersion with coconut water can affect the percentage of hatching. The concentration at >10% didn’t give a good result of hatching percentage of siamese fighting fish. Water quality during maintenance were temperature 27.3-28oC, pH 5.9-6.3 and DO 4.2-5 mg.L-1.

Abstract

The phenomenon of hijrah among Indonesian celebrities has attracted public and media attention. This research aims to analyse the phenomenon with Rational Choice theory and Social Construction theory. This research methodology uses a descriptive qualitativeapproach. Research informants include celebrities who have made hijrah, religious experts, and social observers. Data were collected through observation and documentation studies. Data analysis was conducted using thematic analysis techniques to identify key themes related to the motivation and impact of hijrah. The results showed that celebrities' hijrah decisions were influenced by rational considerations, such as the search for a deeper meaning of life, social pressure, and the desire to change public image. In addition, the hijrah process is also influenced by social construction formed through interaction with religiouscommunities and support from followers on social media. This study concludes that the celebrity hijrah phenomenon is the result of a combination of rational choice and social construction. The contribution of this research is to provide a new perspective inunderstanding social and religious dynamics among celebrities. Research recommendations include the need for further studies on the role of social media in the hijrah process and its impact on fans. Abstract

Eggs of dumbo catfish are known to stick to the substrate due to the presence of a mucus layer, which causes suboptimal oxygen supply and low hatching percentage. This indicates that the mucus layer must be lowered while also eliminating the need for a substrate during the hatching process. One of the natural ingredients that can be used for this purpose is papaya leaf containing the proteolytic enzyme papain. Therefore, this study aims to determine the effect of papaya leaf solution on the percentage of live embryos after soaking, hatching percentage, hatching time, survival rate, and abnormality percentage of dumbo catfish larvae. This research was carried out at the Basic Fisheries Laboratory, Aquaculture Study Program, Fisheries Department, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University in August-October 2022. A Completely Randomized Design (CRD) was used, which consisted of four treatments and three repetitions. The treatment given was the soaking of eggs in papaya leaf solution with different concentrations of  (P0/control), 2 g/0.96 L (P1), 4 g/0.96 L (P2), and 6 g/0.96 L (P3). The results showed that P2 was the best treatment with 100% live embryos after soaking, 94.06% hatching percentage, 20.24 hours hatching time, 92.78% survival rate, and 0.93% abnormality percentage. Based on these results, the soaking of dumbo catfish eggs on papaya leaf solution could increase the hatching percentage and survival rate.
