Abstract

Community-based zakat management is a critical component of Islamic welfare systems, grounded in participation, social trust, and local wisdom. However, such systems are not immune to informal corruption. This study investigates the forms and drivers of informal corruption in local zakat distribution and examines how local cultural norms may legitimize or mitigate such practices. Using a qualitative approach with a descriptive-analytical design, the research integrates literature review, discourse analysis, and case documentation in Putukrejo village. Findings reveal three major patterns of informal corruption: nepotistic distribution, discretionary deductions by zakat managers, and non-transparent reporting. These are legitimized through patron-client relationships, elite dominance, and uncritical local norms. The study argues for a hybrid governance model combining public deliberation, community-based transparency, and social auditing. Reinvigorating local wisdom as a form of ethical control aligned with Islamic public ethics is essential to establishing a more equitable, participatory, and accountable zakat governance framework.

Abstract

This study investigates the role of stand-up comedy as a medium for social and cultural critique in Indonesia, using comedian Pandji Pragiwaksono as a case study. In the post-Reform era, when freedom of expression is constitutionally protected, public critique serves as a check on policy and social norms. Drawing on Sigmund Freud’s theory of humor, the research focuses on comedic mechanisms absurd analogies, sarcasm, and pop-culture references that convey critical commentary without provoking excessive resistance. A qualitative content analysis was conducted on five of Pandji’s YouTube performances from 2018 to 2023, selected for view counts and thematic relevance: legalization of prostitution, political image-making, and national unity. Each segment was coded by theme and analyzed to reveal how humor exposes social contradictions, prompts audience reflection, and facilitates public dialogue. Data validity was reinforced through triangulation of audience responses, including laughter, online comments, and spontaneous live interactions. Findings show that Pandji effectively reframes sensitive topics, using the “urgency to defecate” analogy to discuss prostitution legislation and satirizing a “nation of image-makers” in contemporary politics. His use of sarcasm and wordplay creates a “safe space” for audiences to reevaluate societal values and practices. Stand-up comedy thus emerges as a powerful tool that combines entertainment with critical awareness.

Abstract

Wringinputih Tourism Village is a relatively new tourism village. This village is classified as a pilot tourist village in Banyuwangi. Seeing the potential of Wringinputih, namely the existence of a fairly large mangrove area, dragon fruit plantations, coconut plantations, coastal areas, and marine products, so this is able to give confidence to the Culture and Tourism Office and the Banyuwangi Government to be used as a tourist village. This potential can be used as an object and tourist attraction so that it can increase the income of the surrounding community. The lack of knowledge of the village community regarding tourism is the main problem. Many village potentials can be packaged as educational tour packages, but due to the lack of public knowledge, the potential of natural resources such as mangrove areas, regional specialties, and marine products are not utilized into a tourist attraction that has selling value. This existing potential must be optimally packaged through the design of tour packages that have selling value to local and foreign tourists. The research method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. This research activity begins with the identification of the potential of natural resources that can be developed into tourist attractions and attractions in Wringinputih Tourism Village and then analyzed to produce an attractive overnight tour package. The potential of Wringinputih Tourism Village is so diverse that it has a wide range of potentials.

Abstract

Discuss Space & Coffee is a cafe that not only provides a place to gather but also to work. This research was conducted to evaluate the implementation of the accounting system in the revenue cycle and identify weaknesses and limitations of existing internal controls. The research method used was qualitative, incorporating interviews and direct observation as data collection techniques. The results show that although the accounting system in the revenue cycle has been implemented, there are still some obstacles, especially those originating from bugs in the majoo application. These obstacles interfere with the process of recording revenue in real-time. However, the owner of Discuss Space & Coffee has overcome this problem in an effective and efficient way, namely by adding additional alternative tools to ensure smooth operations. To overcome bugs in the majoo application, it is recommended that the application manager immediately make regular updates and improvements. In addition, technical training for cafe staff can also help reduce the impact of technical glitches that may occur in the future.

Abstract

The purpose of this paper will discuss the communication of the 'Aisyiyah environmental movement in creating gender justice through Media Advocacy Theory (MAT). The problem of environmental damage is still a serious problem that can threaten human life. This problem will have a worse impact on human life if there are no concrete rescue efforts. Interestingly, the impact of environmental damage often targets women's groups. This group is most vulnerable to environmental damage. However, in the midst of the risk and vulnerability of women due to environmental damage, the 'Aisyiyah group is able to show another face as a strong woman. The existence of the 'Aisyiyah environmental movement is constructed to be able to offer and promote how women have the ability to be involved in environmental rescue efforts. This movement is of course a form of resistance from Muslim women's groups who have so far been considered marginal. This study uses a qualitative type with a phenomenological approach. This method is used as a study of awareness and mindset towards the 'Aisyiyah environmental movement. While the data collection technique uses observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The stages of this phenomenological research include determining the subject and subject of research, the approach process, informant determination strategies, data collection techniques, data recording procedures, field issues, and data storage as well as the final reporting stage. The results of the study show that the use of media plays an important role in the communication of the 'Aisyiyah environmental movement. In addition to being able to support movement activities and mass information, the media is also able to capture every environmental advocacy carried out by 'Aisyiyah. Interestingly, in the media and advocacy of the movement, it is also strengthened by the use of environmental issue framing that is able to mobilize the public that women are able to be tough and empowered.
