Abstract

Determining the vehicle routing is one of the important components in existing logistics systems. It is because the vehicle route problem has some effect on transportation costs and time required in the logistics system. In determining the vehicle routes, there are some restrictions faced, such as the maximum capacity of the vehicle and a time limit in which depot or customer has a limited or spesific opening hours (time windows). This problem referred to Vehicle Routing Problem with Time Windows (VRPTW). To solve the VRPTW, this study developed a meta-heuristic method called Hybrid Restart Simulated Annealing with Variable Neighborhood Search (HRSA-VNS). HRSA-VNS algorithm is a modification of Simulated Annealing algorithm by adding a restart strategy and using the VNS algorithm scheme in the stage of finding neighborhood solutions (neighborhood search phase). Testing the performance of HRSA-VNS algorithm is done by comparing the results of the algorithm to the Best Known Solution (BKS) and the usual SA algorithm without modification. From the results obtained, it is known that the algorithm perform well enough in resolving the VRPTW case with the average differences are -2.0% with BKS from Solomon website, 1.83% with BKS from Alvarenga, and -2.2% with usual SA algorithm without any modifications.Keywords : vehicle routing problem, time windows, simulated annealing, VNS, restart

Abstract

A staticwork position with sitting is common work posture founded in industry, particularly small industryin Indonesia. The problem that review in this paper is the activity of workers sitting static for processingemping in Yogyakarta. Activity done by means sitting on the floor without using table. The activity carriedin a continuous long term, so as to cause disease risks muscle and bone especially lower back. Ergonomic workfacilities is implemented to solve the work problem with table and chair. The design of work table is developedwith concept low cost improvement and consider with secure, health, and convenience of worker. The designprocess using participatory approach by involving worker to get best design. The result of facilities implementationcan be achieved a decrease ih the risk of work. The potential risk of work posture can be repair thatshown of the RULA score from 6 to 4, and no more complain the back and waist from worker activity.

Abstract

Measurement of workload is a technique to get information about the efficiency and effectiveness of an organizational unit, or office holders through a process of research and assessment. It is conducted by using job analysis, workload analysis or other management techniques. PT. Ultrajaya Milk Industry & Trading Co., Tbk is manufacturer of the food and beverage. The company is always trying to meet the needs of consumers by creating products with high quality and competitive price. The high stress level perceived by Managerial Level and Supervisory Level become an important reason for the Department of Ultra High Temperature (UHT) to conduct workload analysis. By measuring the employees workload, it will be known whether  the workload of an employee is optimal load or overload. This situation will affect the human-performance (employee). Based on calculations by the DRAWS method is yielded the average workload score for Managerial Level of 67.37% (in the overload category), while the dominant workload variable in Central Demand (CD) is 41.60%,  the distribution of the mental workload is 72.60% and physical workload is 27.40%. While for Supervisory Level  is yielded the average workload score of 64.59% (in the overload category) ), where the dominant workload variable in Central Demand (CD) is 33.63%, the distribution of the mental workload is 55.10% and physical workload is 44.90%. Therefore the perceived mental workload of Supervisory Level is still relatively comparable compared to physical workload, and in contrast to the  perceived Managerial Level which is dominated by mental workload.

Abstract

Company X is one of the bakery companies that has several branch shops in Bandung. Over thepast few years, the performance of its human resource was stagnant and undeveloped. Especially in theposition of cashiers and salespersons who serve the consumers. Without a good human resource performancemanagement, Company X will not be able to survive in the competition. One of the requirements of goodhuman resource management performance is a good performance appraisal system. Performance assessmentconducted by Company X is still generic, and involving the assessment criteria that are very common.Besides, this assessment is also used to measure all positions in the company. Sometimes, the assessmentprocess was very subjective, which often causes employees with different performance get the same value.This research aims to design a performance appraisal system for the position of cashier and salesperson atCompany X by using Behaviorally Anchored Rating Scales (BARS). A performance appraisal system wasdesign started from the identification of assessment criteria and the determination of the scale of assessmentstandards, and ends with a form design and assessment procedures. The study also designed a feedbacksystem, in order to improve the performance of the cashiers and salespersons at Company X. The developedassessment system then tested in Company X to see how well the assessment able to distinguish employeesperformance, where employees with different performance obtain different values. Besides these trials alsoaccomplished the objective of the proposed system, where the same employees have the same value relativelydespite assessed by different people.

Abstract

This research aims to map SME’s behaviour in knowledge sharing in a SME’s center. Knowledge sharing activity is one of key factor in knowledge management, where individual/group knowledge can be disseminated well and increase organization intellectual capital. Many research has identified variables that are affecting knowledge sharing activity, but the results cannot be generalized. This research uses literature study and interview to identify those variables in two SME’s center in Java. The questionnaires then developed based on the 35 variables that are identified.  Factor analysis is used to analyze the data and generate six factors that are affecting knowledge sharing activity in SME’s center, such as job characteristic, technology, internal individual, environmental influence, reward system, and job security. The result of SEM show that technology, internal individual, and environmental influence has positive relationships toward knowledge sharing activity, while job characteristic and reward system has negative relationships toward knowledge sharing activity.

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to analyze work system improvements of home industries in Yogyakarta City,based on participatory ergonomics approach. WISH (Work Improvement for Safe Home) action checklisthas been used as the instrument to analyse and evaluate the working conditions. WISH programme isan action manual published by ILO (International Labour Organization) to improve work conditions ofhome manufacturing by using a participatory approach. The working conditions in WISH action checklistcovers five aspects; i.e. materials storage and handling, machine safety, work stations, physical environment,and welfare facilities and work organization. The early step in this study was identification of generalcharacteristics of home industries in Yogyakarta City. The results of identification were used as input indeveloping improvement actions. Analysis was done to determine the priority among all improvement aspectsand improvement actions based on WISH action checklist. The findings show the most priority aspect ofimprovement was Work Stations aspects with index priority 0.172. The action needed for the most priorityimprovement aspect was developed by consideration of home industries characteristics.

Abstract

The using of social media for marketing in products and services industry is currently trending, both in small and big enterprises. Zanana and Oifyoo are among the SMEs that already used Instagram to market their products. The purpose of this research is to find the effectiveness of using social media (Instagram) as online marketing on Zanana and Oifyoo. Zanana has a specified marketing team to manage their Instagram account> Meanwhile, Oifyoo's Instagram account is managed by the owner directly. The analysis of Instagram using effectiveness is much needed for increasing marketing, sales, or branding purposes. This research is done with a few steps including data reduction, data serving, conclusion, and verification. There are two data used in this research, primary and secondary data. The primary data is accumulated using in-depth interviews and the secondary data is retrieved on both SMEs Instagram accounts. This research used media and network analyses to analyze the data. The research shows that Zanana is more excelled at the effectiveness of using Instagram in both media and network analyses than Oifyoo. Keywords: effectiveness, Instagram, media analysis, network analysis

Abstract

The focus of this research is to analyze the production process queuing system at one of the stages of production of swiftlet nest in analytical and simulation. The purpose of this research is to obtain the model and characteristics of the queue system at the Finishing-2. The analysis uses data on the rate of arrival and the rate of service based on real observation and determines the probability distribution of data between arrival time and service time using the Easyfit 3.0 program, to get the model of the queuing system is obtained. After the model obtained, analytic and simulation analysis is carried out using the Queuing System Simulation (QSS) module in the WINQSB software. The results of the queuing system characteristics in the analytical and simulation have a significant difference, because the distribution of time between arrivals and service times used in analytical calculations is G (general), while the simulation uses a distribution that refers to a particular type of distribution according to the results of the Easyfit program. Simulation is carried out with the FIFO and SIRO queue disciplines. The simulation results show that 91% of the characteristics of the queue system in the two queue disciplines do not have a significant difference. Moreover, it has also been done a comparison between the characteristics of the queuing system in two different work areas namely Room A and Room B&C, based on the simulation results, the results show 58% of the characteristics of the queuing system have a significant difference, this is due to differences in service time between the two work areas. Thus the purpose of this research has been achieved which is obtained by the queue model (G/G/c):(FIFO/∞/∞), and also obtained system performance improvements, in the form of waiting time in the queue where the waiting time in Room B&C is smaller than Room A. Keywords: Queuing, Arrival, Service, Production, Simulation.

Abstract

Technological sophistication has become the necessity of human life, because it can facilitate the survival of human life. One of the technological sophistication that is needed by humans is the mobile phone. Mobile communication devices require electrical power sourced from the battery, when it runs out of power [1]requires a power source to restore power. Portable charger products [2]is one of the products that are always in need of mobile phone users. In this study, portable charger products have the advantage that can charge electric power just by moving it without using the electricity that comes from PLN. The purpose of this study is to determine the characteristics of portable charger products and designing products in accordance with the voice of customers obtained. In the first stage, the preparation and distribution of questionnaires to obtain voice of customer, create a technical response, create a house of quality, which then design the manufacture of portable charger products in accordance with customer wishes. Based on the research, the result of design of portable charger product with the length of 15 cm, width 8cm, thickness 3 cm and has the adhesive as long as 25 cm. Keywords: technology, phone, portable, charger, function

Abstract

PT Mulcindo is a manufacturing and service industry company works in the production of processed iron. This company produces corrugated steel sheet, iron canal, ceiling hanging guard rail, and partition frame.  However, the demand for this company was fluctuating.  Due to this fluctuation, PT Mulcindo Steel Industry has some problems such as product shortages or on the other hand product overload (over stock). This company is trying to find better production activities planning to fulfill market demand by using the right production planning. The results of the aggregate planning method in planning hollow production with a size of 15 mm x 35 mm x 0.30 mm in PT Mulcindo Steel Industry using the heuristic method, labor control with total aggregate planning costs of Rp. 674,937,732.2 / year, controlling sub-contracts with total aggregate planning costs of Rp. 822.136,585,3 / year, mix with overtime with total aggregate planning costs of Rp. 208,791,410.5 / year, Use of spreadsheets using regular production with trial and error techniques with total aggregate planning costs of Rp. 408,543,000 / year, the aggregate planning method in production planning obtained the minimum cost of Rp. 208,791,410.5 / year that is by using the heuristic method with mixed method completion techniques with over time. Keywords : Forecasting, Time Series, Aggregate Planning.
