Abstract

Sumitomo Mitsui Construction Company Utama Indonesia is one of the leading construction companies in Indonesia and is a subsidiary of Sumitomo Mitsui Construction Co., Ltd, based in Japan. Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) is an urban rail-based mode of public service transportation. This research was conducted on the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) phase II Jakarta construction project in the Glodok - Kota area. Based on observations and interviews, work accidents caused by unsafe actions need to be further identified. This study aims to control the indicators of unsafe actions that can cause work accidents. The method used in this study is Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Risk Control (HIRARC). This research was conducted in several stages, namely identifying the hazard of the unsafe action indicator, conducting a risk assessment of the unsafe action indicator, and determining risk control. The results obtained are based on risk assessment; from the 13 risks, there are 9 types of risk in the low category (low risk), 3 types of risk in the medium category (medium risk), and 1 risk in the high category (high risk). Risk control that can be provided and has been approved by the company is the installation of signs "beware of falling materials", providing external training such as K3 Training for High Building Workers in Lift and Transport Fields, conducting supervision in the work area by increasing the number of supervisory personnel involving supervision and site engineers.

Abstract

The main problem that experienced by transfemoral amputees in Indonesia is limited mobility, so they need prosthetic limbs to walk and do daily activities. However, the limited movement and also expensive price of the prosthetic knee joint causes not all the needs of the transfemoral amputee can be accommodated. This study aims to design the artificial leg joints that can meet the needs of the Indonesian amputees. Stages of this research include searching for unmet user needs, developing concepts to produce a prosthetic knee joint repair plan and evaluating it. From this research, six initial concepts of prosthetic knee joints, and one concept (AD+) has been selected using concept screening and concept scoring. A physical prototype has been made using printer 3D. The final prosthetic knee joint using polycentric knee type joint with constant friction drive type, having a human knee joint shape, has a height dimension of 188.84 millimeters and width of 82.46 millimeters, has a maximum bending angle of 151.4O, mass 598, 62 grams, can support a maximum load of 272 kilograms (according to CAD model), made of nylon, has a production cost about one million rupiah (less than USD100), has a single speed and impact high level ambulation, and has a rotator and lock function. Evaluation is done by simulation and qualitative assessment. The results showed that 68.42% of the needs were met well and 31.58% were adequately met by this new proposed prosthetic knee joint design.

Abstract

The productivity of a company or industry is highly dependent on the performance of the machines or equipment used. Reliability is one measure of machine or equipment performances. In industry, machines usually will form a complex configuration with each component having a different failure distribution. Research has been carried out for three systems installed in parallel where the three systems have different of failure distributions. The failure distribution used is the Normal, Weibull, and Normal Log distribution. Reliability calculations can be accomplished by making the three distributions have a similar shape even if could e the same. The three distributions have their respective parameters whose values will be determined so that there is a similarity in the shape of the three distributions. System reliability od system with parallel configuration can then be calculated.

Abstract

Every business always aims to make significant profits. The corporation can cut expenses in one way or another. Logistics is one of the most expensive operations, and two-thirds of its expenditures are related to inventory and transportation. Inventory and transportation challenges must be addressed simultaneously in the supply chain to achieve the best results. This problem is modeled in the inventory routing problem (IRP). The development of the IRP model still has gaps with real conditions. The IRP model designed has not yet discussed the Multi-product Multi-warehouse Inventory Routing Problem (MMIRP) model. MMIRP takes into account the conditions of the types of goods that need to be sent, which vary and there are several warehouses that have goods of different types in one period of time. The results obtained after completing the model are the number of vehicles used, the number of goods of each type shipped, the travel routes generated by each vehicle, and the large costs generated based on the route design and inventory at each location.

Abstract

A machine learning classification model for detecting abnormality is usually developed using imbalanced data where the number of abnormal instances is significantly smaller than the normal ones. Since the data is imbalanced, the learning process is dominated by normal instances, and the resulting model may be biased. The most common method for coping with this problem is synthetic oversampling. Most synthetic oversampling techniques are distance-based, usually based on the k-Nearest Neighbor method. Patterns in data can be based on distance or correlation. This research proposes a synthetic oversampling technique that is based on correlations in the form of the joint probability distribution of the data. The joint probability distribution is represented using a Gaussian copula, while the marginal distribution uses three alternatives distribution: the Pearson distribution system, empirical distribution, and the Metalog distribution system. This proposed technique is compared with several commonly used synthetic oversampling techniques in a case study of credit card default prediction. The classification model uses the k-Nearest Neighbor and is validated using the k-fold cross-validation. We found that the classification model using the proposed oversampling method with the Metalog marginal distribution has the greatest total accuracy.

Abstract

The train is a popular mode of mass transit for a large number of passengers in Indonesia since it is reasonably priced. However, the existing passenger seats still do not pay attention to anthropometric measurements for Indonesian culture. The UIC standard, which is used as a standard for creating train seats, demonstrates this. Anthropometry is a science that involves measuring the human body and is used to identify variations between people, groups, and other entities. Ergonomic passenger seat design will have a good effect on both the company and the user. This study set out to ascertain the advantages of applying ergonomics to industrial tasks. A thorough literature review of 20 publications and papers published between 2012 and 2022 was done for this study. The results obtained are that there are many industrial activities that apply ergonomics to achieve comfort and the benefits of implementing ergonomics are new design recommendations and design development, knowing the relationship of vibration and energy to comfort, reducing discomfort, activities that affect comfort, the ability to estimate body size, knowing the risks diseases that arise, and knowing the level of importance of ergonomics.

Abstract

One of the main causes of Indonesia's increasing accident rate is fatigue and drowsiness, which places Indonesia among the other countries with the highest accident rates. The elements that significantly affect fatigue and sleepiness are individual factors, namely chronotype and Body Mass Index (BMI). Fatigue and drowsiness are evaluated using EEG signal indicators; there have been several related studies that focused on fluctuations in EEG signals under certain operating conditions. However, few studies evaluated the relationship between chronotype and BMI affecting sleepiness. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between chronotype and BMI and tiredness. The KSS questionnaire and EEG signal indicator were used to evaluate sleepiness. The study findings indicate that the beta signal and the driver's BMI have a negative relationship, namely drivers with high BMI are more likely to be sleepy than drivers with low BMI. In chronotype, the moderate morning type shows an increase in Alpha and Theta power compared to other types, caused by circadian rhythms.

Abstract

A driving simulator is one of the research tools used to identify the causes of traffic accidents on the highway. While driving simulators are frequently used in research, there is concern that HMD-based driving simulators may cause a side effect for the user known as cybersickness. Various factors are widely used to identify the formation of cybersickness from various virtual environments with different results on the formed cybersickness. In contrast, the factors that influence the formation of cybersickness using driving simulators using virtual reality based on HMD have not been identified whether they produce the same or different research results, so that it can make a difference in further research. The purpose of this study is to conduct a literature review of the factors used to identify cybersickness formed in the use of driving simulators using HMD-based virtual reality and the results of using these factors. The method used by searching articles from databases includes Google Scholar, Science Direct, Scopus, Springer and IEEE with relevant keywords. In the initial search, the terms 'VR sickness', 'cybersickness', 'motion sickness', 'simulator sickness', 'visually induced motion sickness', 'virtual reality', and 'driving simulator', were eliminated using the PRISMA method. Of the 653 articles obtained, 17 were analyzed regarding driving simulators using HMD-based virtual reality. The results found factors that influence the formed cybersickness, such as gender, user age, experience, user posture, duration of use, the hardware used, Field Of View (FOV), congenital diseases and time of use. Of the 17 articles analyzed, there was no difference in the results of the factors used to identify the formed cybersickness.

Abstract

As production quantity increases to fulfill customer’s demand, the occupational accident occurs more compared to 2020. The need to use masks increased 20.15 times more in 2021 when the Delta variant of the COVID-19 virus entered Indonesia. This research observed the Manual Welding Machine labor in their process of producing head loop masks and aimed to design mitigation strategies for high error probability tasks. Methods used in this research are the Hierarchical Task Analysis (HTA) to define operator’s tasks, the Technique for Human Error Rate Prediction (THERP) to measure HEP, Event Tree Analysis to analyze the worst possibility of an incident, and the Hazard and Operability Study (HAZOP) to collect mitigation strategy. As the result of this research, several activities such as welding process preparation, picking up materials from the container, and materials preparation process have the highest HEP among all the activities. If some errors occur, it may cause light to severe injuries to the operators and the production area near the Manual Welding work station. Several mitigation plans are recommended to handle these problems, such as using warning displays and making SOP for operating Manual Welding Machine.
