Abstract

Inventory management is important for companies so that optimal efficiency and effectiveness can be achieved. With modern information technology and data management, companies can use inventory information systems to manage data in a more structured and efficient way. Many studies related to inventory information systems have been carried out. However, in those studies, the designed information systems have not been able to issue automatic warnings for inventories that are about to run out. The object of this research is TB X. Previous research has designed an inventory information system at TB X which still requires the user to operate it manually, namely in terms of transferring operational software data to a spreadsheet for methods calculation and vice versa. Therefore, in this research an information system will be designed so that the company can control its inventory more easily. The design of the inventory control information system uses the waterfall method and the application test uses the black box testing method. The design of the inventory control information system will implement the Q method algorithm. Based on the research results, it is known that the designed information system has advantages over previous research, namely being able to issue warning statuses automatically, easier to control inventory compared to the manual method, faster in finding the information needed, more environmentally friendly because it is paperless , making procedures more orderly and avoiding repetitive data errors or missing data, more accurate profit calculations because the system is directly calculated according to sales transaction data, and more accurate or reducing errors in recording the amount of inventory stored compared to the manual method.

Abstract

Plant layout is a very important factor in the performance of production process, that is to lean and smooth the production line. A good plant layout is characterized by smooth and lean flow pattern of material movement with minimal distance between departments or workstations. The shorter the distance of material movement, the smaller the material handling cost in the factory. In addition, the efficiency of using the space available in the factory is also the character of a good plat layout and production facilities. During the Covid-19 pandemic, the layout management in a factory must also consider the implementation of the health protocols that have been set. This research aims to re-layout the plat layout of a factory by manage the flow of material that considering social and physical distancing during the Covid-19 pandemic. It is conducted by using Triangular Flow Diagram Method and the distance measurement is carried out using Rectilinear Method. This research is a case study at PT. Citra Nusantara Mandiri (CNM). This company is a Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSMEs) that produces hybrid corn seeds. From the evaluation conducted, it was identified that back tracking and not smooth and lean of flow of material happened in the production process in this company. The findings of the research show that the application of Triangular Flow Diagram Method caused a reduction in the distance of material movement by 48,5% from in the initial conditions. Moreover, the material flow pattern was in the form of a U-Shape.

Abstract

Information is part of an information system that is important to be protected in terms of confidentiality, integrity and availability, in order to increase its reliability. Moreover, information containing personal and health data is definitely available in the clinical laboratory. This becomes a consideration for clinical laboratory management to prepare for the development of its service system in digital transformation. This study aims to assess the information security risks that still arise in a clinical laboratory accredited to ISO 15189 and certified to ISO 9001, as a preparation for digital-based services. By using the ISO 27001 approach which is embedded in the qualitative method in this study, risk assessment is carried out by identification, analysis and evaluation through interviews with process owners at clinical laboratories in Jakarta. As a result, it was found that the Busdev&IT Department had the most information security risks (35 risks out of 384 total risks), which required further treatment based on the established risk appetite. Therefore, vigilance on the use of information systems in the laboratory needs to be improved in terms of information security.

Abstract

One of the main aspects that determines the successful of managing a supply chain system or supply chain management (SCM) is transportation planning. The problem of determining vehicle routes or commonly known as the vehicle routing problem (VRP) is one of the important studies in transportation planning at the operational level. Determining the right vehicle routes can increase the effectiveness and efficiency of a transportation system and related supply chain systems. This research focuses on the asymmetric capacitated vehicle routing problem with time windows (ACVRPTW), which is a vehicle routing problem that takes into account vehicle capacity, asymmetric return distances between customers, and delivery time constraints. A mathematical model is formulated based on the research objective to be achieved, i.e. minimizing the total shipping costs consisting of travel costs, overtime delivery costs, late delivery compensation costs, and re-delivery costs. Two alternative solution algorithms are developed, namely sequential insertion (SI) and ant colony optimization (ACO). A numerical example is provided to present the results of research on a clothing convection industry, where the ACO algorithm is proven to be able to produce better solutions than the SI algorithm.

Abstract

The biggest cause of vehicle accidents is the human factor, one of which is risky driving behaviour. This study aims to provide an overview of the driving behaviour of some drivers and look at the demographic factors (age, gender, driving experience, type of vehicle) behind it. The quantitative approach was used in this study, with descriptive analysis techniques and t-tests on the participant groups. The results of the analysis of 108 drivers as participants in this study indicate that age and gender are factors that can cause car drivers to exhibit risky driving behaviour (speeding, changing lanes, and overtaking vehicles in front). Furthermore, men are more likely to engage in risky driving behaviour, and the older they get, the less likely they are to engage in risky driving behaviour.

Abstract

Competition in the higher education, especially private higher education (PTS) in the digital era, is becoming increasingly tough. In order to achieve the number of prospective new students, various methods are used so that the target for admitting the number of new students can be achieved in each new academic year. Providing a scholarship program is one way to attract the prospective new students. The awarding of a scholarship program must consider various possibilities such as the seriousness or commitment of the prospective new student. Refusal to grant scholarship programs can occur and become an obstacle for achieving the target. The prediction model through machine learning using some variables such as high school’s name, high school “category”, province or area of high school located, focus of specialization in high school, high school’s grade, type of parents income, and selected major of study in higher education. All of those variables will provides the probability values that will become an indicator that can be used to prioritize requests for scholarship program applications by taking into account the factors of acceptance or rejection from prospective students. Currently there is no measurement with accuracy of acceptance or rejection from prospective students. The purpose of this research is to build and compare machine learning models such as Logistic Regression, Artificial Neural Networks, Support Vector Machines, Decision Trees, Naïve Bayes, and K Nearest Neighbors so that a machine learning model is obtained that has the best predictions for awarding scholarship programs. The result of this research is that the Logistic Regression model has the highest model average accuracy value (62,05%) from training data compared to others. The highest accuracy of Logistic Regression model (62,29%) achieved based on the testing data. The highest AUC value (0,818) generated by Logistic Regression model which means the model is able to do the classification categorized “Good Classification” compare to other models.

Abstract

The needs of employees in their work are driven by the need for a safe, comfortable, and peaceful work environment to achieve maximum productivity. Productivity in the production activities at the PT. Eka Karya Sinergi production unit, which mainly produces lightweight steel products, is not yet optimal. Several factors can affect the productivity of workers at PT. Eka Karya Sinergi, including a less structured work system, ranging from occupational health and safety levels, work management, worker fatigue levels during the work processes, and complaints experienced by the workers. This research aims to improve the work system to enhance occupational health and safety as well as company productivity through a participatory ergonomics approach. The method used in this research is a qualitative descriptive approach. The occupational health and safety conditions were measured using two instruments, namely REBA and GOTRAK. The participatory ergonomics process was carried out through discussions using Focus Group Discussions. The results of the research show that through the improvement of the work system using the participatory ergonomics method, ergonomic hazards that were previously categorized as high-risk have been reduced to a safer category. This is evidenced by the process of assembling finished goods through the provision of new chairs, which resulted in a risk reduction of 12 points in the SNI 9011 score and 7 points in the REBA score. Furthermore, the improvement of work posture in the process of pumping handling coils with a handstaker resulted in a risk reduction of 4 points in the SNI 9011 score and 5 points in the REBA score. Additionally, the addition of a helper in the process of handling coil materials to the uncoiler machine can reduce the risk by 3 points in the SNI 9011 score and 5 points in the REBA score.

Abstract

Eye tracking (ET) has been widely used to detect ocular changes that are also correlated with fatigue. However, whether there is an ET indicator capable of detecting fatigue closely related to vigilance decrement is unknown. This study aims to determine which ET indicators are sensitive in detecting changes in vigilance due to sleep restriction (4 and 8 hours) in different gender. Fifty-six participants (28 men, 21.32 ± 1.16 years and 28 women, 21.5 ± 1.2 years) were involved in this study. Using an eye tracker device, participants were asked to simulate inspecting defects (dirt, scratches, missing parts, and poor assembly) at 50 flashlights. In addition, vigilance assessment was carried out with the Psychomotor Vigilance Task (PVT) and the Karolinska Sleepiness Scale (KSS). The results of ANOVA showed that sleep restriction affected the mean RT (p-value = 0.001), minor lapse (p-value = 0.036), mean 1/RT (p-value = 0.001), saccadic velocity (p-value = 0.001), and KSS (p-value = <0.001). Gender influenced the mean 1/RT (p-value = 0.016), pupil diameter (p-value = 0.022), and saccadic velocity (p-value = 0.030). The Pearson correlation test shows a weak relationship between the ET and PVT indicators. However, saccadic velocity has the potential to be able to detect changes in vigilance because it is influenced by sleep restriction. Further research is still needed to confirm these results because the correlation between saccade velocity and PVT indicators in this study still needs to show a stronger relationship to become a vigilance indicator.

Abstract

PT Gagas Energi Indonesia is a company engaged in the trading and natural gas business, one of which is Gaslink C-Cyl. Route determination for Gaslink C-Cyl distribution is carried out subjectively based on the proximity of locations between customers, thus creating inefficient routes, affecting the number of vehicles needed, and causing high transportation costs. Based on this problem, this study aims to minimize transportation costs by determining the optimal route and number of vehicles needed using the Multi-Trip Vehicle Routing Problem Time Windows Simultaneous Pickup and Delivery (MTVRPTW-SPD). This problem is solved using Geographic Information System (GIS) based optimization. To evaluate GIS-based optimization performance, comparison between existing condition and optimization are done for 50 demand points. Then, two scenario was developed, 100 and 200 demand points to explain the decision implication related to demand uncertainty. Based on the optimization process for 50 demand points gives better solution than existing condition in term of number of fleets needed, total distance travelled, and total transportation cost which result 3 units, 46,5%, and 43,5% respectively.
