Abstract

The purpose of this research was to describe the implementation of process approach in teaching expository writing in the elementary school. The approach of the research was qualitative with classroom action model research. The subjects of the research were 9 students. The result of the research indicated that the implementation of process approach in teaching expository writing was effective.

Abstract

The purposes of this research were to describe teachers’ perception toward teachers’ functional job promotion, teachers’ experience related to contraints in achieving functional job promotion, teachers’ efforts in solving problems related to contraints in achieving functional job promotion. Population of the research was elementary schools’ teachers at Malang Regent. The subjects were 187 teachers selected by multi stage random sampling. The instruments were a questionnaire and documentation. The collected data was analysed by procentage. The result found that teachers’ perception was positive toward func¬tional job promotion. Generally, teachers’ constraints experience related to contraints in achieving func¬tional job promotion were in an education field and scientific writing field. Teachers solved the contrains by themselves.

Abstract

This research is the action research which the purpose is to know the increasing of under¬standing of the students in learning addition and substraction of number by using playing techniques. The learning with playing technique was implemented in the second grade of the elementary school of Landungsari 1 which has 29 students. In order to make the students happy to learn, motivated, and enthusias¬tic, in this research had been presented the Quantum Teaching Model. The procedure in this research is done in three steps, that is (1) plan of the research, (2) the procedure of action, and (3) the implementation of action. The result of the research are (1) the students always happy in learning, (2) the ability of the students in understanding place of value concept is better, (3) the ability and the capability of the stu¬dents in adding and subtracting two numbers become reach, because in the learning use manipulative material, (4) the average of the class in the end of learning is still lower, that is 67.3, but the ability of af¬fective and psychomotor of the students have better.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to analyse impact of free-paid schools program on APK and APM of primary and secondary schools at Tanjung Jabung Barat (Tanjabbar) district. The subjects of this research were 54 primary schools and 13 secondary schools who selected purposively from 5 subdistrict of the Tanjabbar district. Finding of the research showed that APK and APM achivement in all of the subdistricts were not fully affected by the existence of the fre-paid schools program. It implied that the program was not the only factor in detemining APK and APM achievement.

Abstract

The purpose of this classroom action research was to improve writing teaching quality at grade two of elementary school level. Teaching pattern developed was a creative simulation. The results showed that through the creative simulation students of grade two (elementary schools) had a competency in complementing a story with distinct words and simple sentences. Students’ comprehension and skill acquired from cycle to cycle significantly improved.

Abstract

Abstract: Educational fund is one of variables influences to quality of schools’ performance. After Bupati Act no. 188.45/255/012/2009 published, Schools’ committee could draw education fund from parents. There were some conclusions from this research: (1) education fund was a determinant factor guaranted effective schools’ performance; (2) Fund management authority of schools’ commit-tee could enhance bargaining power when they met Schools’ principal; (3) Schools’ educational fund transparancy and accountability had a signficant contribution to improvement of parents’ care toward schools’ management and improvement of school images. Abstract

The purpose of the research was to develop learning model of description writing in elementary schools, i.e. planning product, matter product, and evaluation product. This research used development research design with explanation focus, development, and dissemination. Data in the research was taken from student activity and teacher class four in Kauman 1 elementary school of Malang city and elementary school 006 in Sei Kunjang of Samarinda city.The collected data were analysis by using descriptive qualitative and quantitative techniques. The Research found that from element aspect and essay model showed students’ achievement were very good.

Abstract

This research is intended to find out the forms of discourse, which are relevant to the develop¬ment of thinking abilities of the elementary school children of the third, fourth, fifth and sixth grades. For this purpose, experiment has been conducted in 8 (eight) elementary schools, covering 4 urban elemen¬tary schools and 4 city elementary schools. As a whole, there are 160 samples involved in this study. These samples are determined by making use of stratified random sampling technique. The data being collected in this first stage of research are in the forms of the ability in comprehending the content of reading text. These data were collected by means of test which were administered 48 times for every subject, within 24 weeks of experimentation. The data of the test were collected in the forms of interval data rates. For the purpose of completing the data, an interview as to the development of the children’s thinking ability in relation to the forms of discourse, in this case reading texts, was also carried out. The data were analyzed by using univariant statistical analysis and variant analysis. The result of the analysis shows that: (1) the forms of discourse (reading text) relevant to the development of thinking ability of the third grade of elementary school are narration; (2) the forms of discourse relevant to the fourth grade are narration and exposition; (3) for the fifth grade are exposition, description, and argumentation; (4) and for the sixth grade are a mixture of all forms of discourse or texts.

Abstract

The purposes of this research were to develop a teaching style and a rescue technique in the sea’ accident. The design of the research was research and design (R&D). The subjects were 15 physic education’ and 45 elementary schols’ students (grade 4,5,6) from Prigi coast area. The data data collection intruments were questionaire and observation. The collected data were analysed by descriptive analysis technique. The research products were a teaching style and a rescue technique in the sea’ accident.

Abstract

The purposes of the research study was to examine and identify a problem of the Primary Schools' teachers of Surakarta Residency in developing a model for improving a quality through lesson study training, a conceptual model for improving the Primary School teachers' quality through lesson study training, and model validation for improving the Primary School teachers' quality through lesson study theoretically. The research used an approach of descriptive-qualitative phenomenology by using a social definition. It was included in the class action. The subjects were the Primary School teachers of Surakarta. The informants of this study were the teachers, headmasters, and supervisors. The data gathering employed questionnaires, interview, and observation. The data analysis used the first order understanding and second order understanding with an interactive model, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion/ verification. The findings showed that a problem of the Primary School teachers is internal (teachers) and external (students, headmasters, supervisors, curriculum and facilities). The problem ranges from the most difficult (17.28%), the more difficult (30.88%), the difficult (33.99%) to the least difficult/easiest (17.85%). The lesson study conceptual model is based on a modified action class research. The effective and creative learning technique used the Improvement Model of Quality of Cooperative. The model validation employed an academic-administrative, conceptual, learning action, and professional.
