Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan (1) jenis media yang digunakan oleh guru bahasa Inggris di SD Laboratorium Undiksha, (2) respon siswa terhadap penggunaan media di SD Laboratorium Undiksha, dan (3) persepsi guru Bahasa Inggris terhadap penggunaan media dalam mengajar bahasa Inggris di SD Laboratorium Undiksha. jenis media yang digunakan oleh guru bahasa Inggris, hasil daftar periksa menemukan bahwa media yang digunakan oleh guru bahasa Inggris di SD Laboratorium Undiksha sebagian besar adalah kartu flash, lagu / audio, animasi dan video / film. Dari daftar periksa mengenai respon siswa terhadap media yang digunakan, para siswa memiliki respon positif terhadap media yang digunakan. Mereka percaya bahwa materi pembelajaran lebih mudah dipahami ketika media digunakan di ruang kelas. Dalam menjawab persepsi guru terhadap penggunaan media di kelas, hasil kuesioner menemukan bahwa guru bahasa Inggris di SD Laboratorium Undiksha memiliki persepsi positif terhadap penggunaan media dalam mengajar bahasa Inggris untuk siswa. Mereka kebanyakan percaya bahwa penggunaan media dapat membantu guru untuk melakukan pembelajaran yang lebih baik dan menyediakan sumber pembelajaran yang luasKata Kunci : media, persepsi, respone This study aimed at finding (1) types of media that are used by the English teacher at SD Laboratorium Undiksha, (2) the students’ responses towards the use of media in SD Laboratorium Undiksha, and (3) English teachers’ perception toward the use of media in teaching English in SD Laboratorium Undiksha. types of media used by English teachers, the result of checklist found that media used by English teacher in SD Laboratorium Undiksha are mostly flashcard, song/audio, animation and video/film. From the checklist regarding students’ response toward the media used, the students have positive response towards the media used. They belief that the learning materials are easier to be understood when media is used in classroom. In answering teachers’ perception toward the use of media in classroom, the result of questionnaire found that English teachers in SD Laboratorium Undiksha had a positive perception towards the use of media in teaching English for the students. Abstract

Penelitian ini dimaksudkan untuk mengetahui bahasa kiasan dan nilai karakter yang digunakan dalam puisi Sabrina Benaim "Explaining My Depression to My Mother". Penelitian ini dirancang sebagai penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Penelitian ini berkaitan dengan variabel tertentu, indikasi atau fenomena tertentu yang terjadi di tempat tertentu. Ditemukan bahwa bahasa kiasan yang ditemukan dalam puisi adalah metafora, simili, personifikasi, hiperbola, litotes, metonimi, paradoks, ironi, denotasi, dan konotasi. Dari puisi ini, beberapa nilai karakter dapat dipelajari. Itu adalah agama, jujur, kreatif, mandiri, ingin tahu, altruistik, ramah, peduli terhadap lingkungan dan kesadaran sosial. Mengajar bahasa Inggris melalui puisi tidak hanya eksposur ke literatur bahasa target tetapi juga mengajarkan nilai moral. Penelitian lebih lanjut disarankan untuk melakukan studi eksperimental terhadap penggunaan puisi dalam pembelajaran bahasa dan nilai karakter.Kata Kunci : Puisi, Bahasa Kiasan, Nilai Karakter The current study intended to find out the figurative language and the character value in used in Sabrina Benaim’s poetry “Explaining My Depression to My Mother”. This study was designed as a descriptive qualitative research. This research concerned with a certain variable, indication or specific phenomenon happened in a particular place. It was found that the figurative language that found in the poetry are metaphor, simile, personification, hyperbole, understatement, metonymy, paradox, irony, denotation and connotation. From this poetry, several character values can be learnt. Those are religious, honest, creative, independent, curious, altruistic, friendly, care for the environment and social awareness. Teaching English through poetry is not only an exposure to target language literature but also teaching moral value. A further study is suggested to conduct an experimental study toward the use of poetry in language learning and character value.keyword : Poetry, Figurative Language, Character Value

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki apakah penerapan strategi pemetaan pikiran dengan jenis web laba-laba memberikan pengaruh yang berbeda secara signifikan terhadap kompetensi berbicara siswa kelas 8. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain eksperimental dalam bentuk post-test only control group design. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas 8 SMPN 1 Sukasada pada tahun akademik 2017/2018. Sampel dipilih menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling, dengan 2 kelas sebagai sampel penelitian. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan tes dan hasilnya dianalisis secara deskriptif serta inferensial. Hasil statistik deskriptif menunjukkan bahwa skor rata-rata kelompok eksperimen adalah 77,32 sedangkan skor rata-rata kelompok kontrol adalah 73,10. Hasil uji-t menunjukkan bahwa nilai t yang diamati lebih tinggi dari nilai kritis yaitu 2,089> 2,0040 (α = 0,05). yang menunjukkan bahwa ada perbedaan rata-rata yang signifikan antara kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa siswa yang belajar dengan strategi pemetaan pikiran mencapai kompetensi berbicara yang lebih baik dibandingkan dengan mereka yang belajar di lingkungan belajar tradisional. Studi lebih lanjut disarankan untuk menganalisis penggunaan strategi pemetaan pikiran pada berbagai keterampilan belajar seperti menulis, membaca atau mendengarkan. Kata Kunci : Pemetaan pikiran, Berbicara, Strategy pembelajaran This study aimed at investigating whether or not the implementations of mind mapping strategy with spider web types gave any significantly different effect on the 8th grade students’ speaking competency. The research used experimental design in the form of post-test only control group design. The population of the study was grade 8 of SMPN 1 Sukasada at the academic years of 2017/2018. Samples were chosen using cluster random sampling technique, with 2 classes as samples of the study. The data were collected using tests and the results were analyzed descriptively as well as inferentially. The result of descriptive statistics showed that the mean score of the experimental group was 77.32 while the mean score of control group was 73.10. The result of t-test showed that the value of t observed is higher than t critical value which is 2.089 > 2.0040 (α = 0.05). Which indicated that there was a significant mean difference between experimental group and control group. Thus, it can be concluded that the students who learnt with mind mapping strategy achieved better speaking competency compared to those who learnt in traditional learning environment. Further study is suggested to analyze the use of mind mapping strategy on different learning skills such as writing, reading or listening. keyword : Mind Mapping, Speaking, Learning strategy

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian berbentuk deskriptif kualitatif dengan tujuan untuk mendeskripsikan awalan dan akhiran di Dialek Bahasa Bali Batumadeg yang mengalami derivasi dan infleksi. Dalam penelitian ini ada dua jenis informan yang dipilih berdasarkan kriteria yang sudah ditentukan, dinamakan informan pertama dan informan kedua. Teknik yang digunakkan untuk mengumpulkan data yaitu, teknik observasi, rekaman dan teknik wawancara. Hasil dari penelitian ini menujukkan bahwa terdapat lima jenis awalan di Dialek Batumadeg, yaitu {mÓ™-}, {kÓ™-}, {n-}, {si-}, dan {a-} dan enam jenis akhiran: {-Ó™ng}, {-an}, {-in}, {-ne}, {-Ó™}, dan {-n}. Terdapat empat jenis awalan yaitu: {mÓ™}, {kÓ™-}, {n-}, dan {si-}, dan satu jenis akhiran yaitu: {-ang} yang termasuk morfem derivasi. Dan juga, terdapat tiga jenis awalan yaitu: {n-}, {mÓ™-} dan {Ó™-}, dan lima jenis akhiran yaitu: {-ne},{in},{-an},{-Ó™},dan{-n} yang termasuk morfem infleksi.Kata Kunci : morfem derivasi, morfem infleksi, awalan, akhiran This study was designed in form of descriptive qualitative study with the aim of describing the prefixes and suffixes exist in Batumadeg dialect which belongs to derivational and inflectional morphemes. There were two kinds of informants chosen based on a set of criteria namely; main informant and secondary informant. Three techniques were used to collect the data, namely observation, recording, and interview technique and four instruments were used in this study those are; the researcher, recorder, note and Holle and Nothofer words list. The results of the study indicate that there are five kinds of prefixes found in Batumadeg dialect, namely {me-}, {ke-}, {n-}, {si-}, and {a-} and six kinds of suffixes: {-ang}, {-an}, {-in}, {-ne}, {-e}, and {-n}. There are four kinds of prefixes: {me}, {ke-}, {n-}, and {si-}, and one kind of suffixes: {-ang} which belong to derivational morphemes. Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menemukan ada atau tidaknya pengaruh dari penerapan Sustained Silent Reading pada pemahaman membaca siswa. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian quasi-experimental yang menggunakan desain post-test only control group. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah semua siswa kelas delapan di SMP Negeri 1 Sukasada, sedangkan sampel pada penelitian ini adalah 57 siswa yang terdiri dari 28 siswa dari kelas VIII E sebagai kelompok eksperimen dan 29 siswa dari kelas VIII F sebagai kelompok kontrol. Sampel dikelompokan dengan menggunakan random sampling on the intact group. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui post-test dalam bentuk pilihan ganda. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis secara deskriptif dan inferensial. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa skor rata-rata untuk kelompok eksperimen (79.00) lebih tinggi daripada skor rata-rata untuk kelompok kontrol 75,65. Selanjutnya, analisis statistik inferensial melalui uji t-test mengungkapkan bahwa tobs lebih tinggi dari tcv yaitu 2,225> 2,008 (ɑ = 0,05). Selanjutnya hipotesa melalui uji t-test mengungkapkan jika ada pengaruh dari Sustained Silent Reading terhadap pemahaman membaca siswa dengan hasil effect size sedang 0.58 (t=2.225, df=55, p < .05¬). Kata Kunci : Sustained Silent Reading, Pemahaman Membaca, Whole Language Approach. The purpose of this study was to discover whether or not there is an effect of the implementation of Sustained Silent Reading toward students’ reading comprehension. This study was quasi-experimental study with post-test only control group design. The population of this study was all eighth grade students in SMP Negeri 1 Sukasada, while the sample of this study was 57 students consisting of 28 students from VIII E as experimental group and 29 students from VIII F as control group. The sample was gathered by using random sampling technique on the intact groups. The data were collected through post-test in form of multiple choice test. The obtained data were analysed descriptively and inferentially. The result of this shows that mean score for experimental group (79.00) is higher than the mean score for control group (75.65). Furthermore, inferential statistical analysis through independent sample test revealed that tobs is higher than tcv which is 2.225 > 2.008 (ɑ = 0,05¬). Moreover the hypothesis through independent sample test revealed that there is an effect of Sustained Silent Reading toward students’ reading comprehension with the moderate effect size 0.58 (t=2.225, df=55, p < .05¬)keyword : Sustained Silent Reading, Reading Comprehension, Whole Language Approach.

Abstract

MORPHOLOGICAL PROCESS IN KEI DIALECT A DESCRITIVE STUDY BY SERVASIUS TAWURUTUBUN 1212021132 ABSTRACT Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan jenis-jenis proses morfologis, awalan dan akhiran, serta bagaimana imbuhan dalam membangun kata-kata dan apa jenis makna afiksasi yang terjadi dalam Dialek Kei. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Dua sampel informan dari Dialek Kei dipilih berdasarkan kriteria yang ditetapkan. Data dikumpulkan berdasarkan dua teknik, yaitu: observasi,mendengarkan, mencatat dan teknik wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada tiga belas kata awalan, dan sepuluh akhiran yang ada di Kei Dialect. Awalannya adalah {naf-}, {nef-}, {nar-}, {ner}, {ha-}, {nga-} {kaf}, {ma-}, {mar-}, {var-}, {nam-} {nat-} {a-} dan Sufiks adalah {-n}, {-an}, {- ang}, {-am}, {im-} {-um], {-ar}, {-he} , {-ir}, {-ab}. Ada enam jenis reduplikasi seperti reduplikasi dasar, reduplikasi variatif dan reduplikasi awalan, reduplikasi sufiks, reduplikasi parsial, dan reduplikasi kuasi dan semuanya ada dalam dialek Kei. This research was a descriptive qualitative research. Two informant samples of Kei Dialect were chosen based on set criteria. The data were collected based on two techniques, namely: observation,{listening, noting} and interview technique. The results of the study show that there are tweleve prefixes, and ten suffixes which existed in Kei Dialect. The prefixes are {naf-}, {nef-}, {nar-}, {ner}, {ha-}, {nga-} {kaf}, {ma-}, {mar-}, {var-}, {nam-} {nat-} and The suffixes are {-n}, {-an},{-ang}, {-am}, {im-} {-um], {-ar}, {-he}, {-ir}, {-ab}. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki persepsi murid terhadap penggunaan augmented reality sebagai media belajar dalam konteks bahasa Inggris sebagai bahasa asing, persepsi guru terhadap penggunaan augmented reality sebagai media belajar dalam konteks bahasa Inggris sebagai bahasa asing, sudut pandang murid terhadap kelebihan dan kekurangan augmented reality sebagai media belajar dalam konteks bahasa Inggris sebagai bahasa asing, sudut pandang guru terhadap kelebihan dan kekurangan augmented reality sebagai media belajar dalam konteks bahasa Inggris sebagai bbahasa asing. Penelitian ini menggunakan explanatory sequential mixed methods dengan 32 murid kelas 7 smp negeri 1 sukasada. Data dari penelitiain ini dikumpulkan melalui angket dan wawancara. Angket terdiri dari 28 item pernyataan dengan dimensi yang berbeda. Wawancara terdiri dari 5 pertanyaan. Data dari penelitian ini dianalisa secara kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa persepsi murid terhadap augmented reality menunjukkan mean skor yang tinggi dan tergolong sangat positive. Lebih lanjut lagi, murid berpendapat bahwa augmented reality membantu mereka dalam membayangkan konteks. Disisi lain, mereka juga membutuhkan bantuan dan bimbingan dari guru. Dari sudut pandang guru, augmented reality menunjukkan mean scor yang tinggi dan tergolong sangat positive. Guru berpendapat bahwa augmented reality meningkatkan motivasi murid dalam belajar Bahasa. Berbeda dengan hal tersebut, penggunaan media augmented reality tergolong sulit untuk murid yang tidak terbiasa dengan teknologi. Bisa disimpulkan jika perkembangan media teknologi didalam Pendidikan memberikan kelebihan dan kekurangan untuk pihak murid dan juga guru dan juga perlunya penelitian kedepannya untuk mengetahui kecocokannya untuk digunakan dikelas.Kata Kunci : persepsi, augmented reality, murid kelas 7 ABSTRACT This study aimed to investigate students’ perception of the use of augmented reality as learning media in English as foreign language context, teachers’ perception of the use of augmented reality as learning media in English as foreign language context, students’ point of view on advantages and disadvantages of augmented reality as learning media in English as foreign language context, teachers’ point of view on advantages and disadvantages of augmented reality as learning media in English as foreign language context. This study employed explanatory sequential mixed methods with 31 students from grades 7th students of SMP Negeri 1 Sukasada. Data of this study were collected through questionnaire and interview. The questionnaire consisted of 28 item statements on different dimensions. The interview consisted of 5 questions. Data of this study were analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. The result of this study showed that students’ perception of the augmented reality has very high means score and the qualification was very positive. Furthermore, The students perceived that augmented reality helps them in imagining the context. On the other hand, they also need help and guidance from the teacher. From the teachers’ point of view, augmented reality has very high means score and the qualification was very positive. Teachers perceived augmented reality increases the students' motivation in language learning. In contrast with it, using augmented reality material was difficult for students whose not used to technology. It can be concluded that the growth of technology media in education gives advantages and disadvantages for both students and teachers and need to be investigated in the future to check its relevance to be used in the classroom. keyword : perception, augmented reality, 7th grades students.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menginvestigasi dampak penggunaan teknik komik strip berwarna dalam penulisan paragraf naratif pada siswa kelas sebelas di SMA Negeri 2 Singaraja. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian eksperimental yang menggunakan desain Post-test kelompok kontrol. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah 309 siswa kelas sebelas yang terbagi dalam 10 kelas. Dengan menggunakan teknik pengambilan acak, dipilihlah dua kelas yang berisi 24 siswa sebagai sampel dari penelitian ini. Kemudian, sampel dibagi secara acak sebagai kelompok eksperimental (yang diajar menggunakan teknik komik strip berwarna) dan kelompok kontrol ( yang diajar menggunakan menggunakan metode konventional). Data dalam penelitian ini diperoleh lewat Post-test pada kompetensi menulis. Lalu data tersebut dianalisa secara deskriptif dan inferensial menggunakan t-test yang dibantu oleh aplikasi SPSS 16.0. Hasil statistik deskriptif menunjukan bahwa nilai rerata dari kelompok eksperimental adalah 81,54 yang mana menunjukan nilai yang lebih besar dari nilai rerata milik kelompok kontrol yang hanya 76,91. Hasil dari t-test juga menunjukan bahwa nilai signifikansi (2-tailed) adalah 0,000. Dan karena nilai signifikansi (2-tailed) dibawah 0,05, maka hipotesis nihilnya (H0) ditolak dan hipotesis alternatifnya (Ha) diterima. Ini berarti bawha terdapat dampak signifikan yang diberikan oleh tekni komik strip berwarna dalam penulisan paragraf naratif pada murid kelas sebelas di SMA Negeri 2 Singaraja. Oleh karena itu, siswa yang diajar menggunakan teknik komik strip berwarna memiliki pencapainan menulis yang lebih baik ketimbang siswa yang diajar menggunakan metode konventional. Kata Kunci : Teknik komik strip berwarna, menulis, SMAN 2 Singaraja This study aimed at investigating the effect of colored comic strips technique in writing narrative paragraph on the eleventh grade students at SMA Negeri 2 Singaraja. This study was an experimental research which used Post-Test only Control Group Design. The population of this study were 309 of the eleventh grade who were divided into 10 classes. By using cluster random sampling technique, there were two classes each consisting of 24 students which were determined as the samples of the study. The samples then were randomly selected as the experimental group ( taught by using colored comic strips technique) and as the control group ( taught by using conventional method). The data were collected by using writing competency post-test. The obtained data were analyzed descriptively and inferentially by using t-test assisted with SPSS 16.0. the result of the descriptive statistics showed that the mean score of the experimental group was 81.54. This was higher than the mean score of the control group which was 76.91. The result of the t-test also showed that the value og Sig. (2-tailed) was 0.000. Since the value of Sig. (2-tailed) was below 0.05, the null hypothesis (H0) was rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted. It means that there was a significant effect of colored comic strips technique on the eleventh grade students’ writing narrative paragraph at SMA Negeri 2 Singaraja. Hence the students taught by using colored comic strips technique achieved better writing achievement rahter than students taught by using conventional method.keyword : Colored Comic Strips Technique, writing competency

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the politeness strategies used by students of Santhi Budaya Art Foundation Studio and Culture in communicating and interacting with their coaches and the reasons students use these politeness strategies to communicate with their coaches to achieve their communication goals. This is a descriptive study and the instrument used to collect data were the researcher, observation check-list, interview guide, and phone mobile recorder. The result of the study showed that 1) there were 4 types of politeness strategies used by the students to communicate with their coaches. Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa kasifikasi dari tindak tutur yang terjadi dalam dialog film Indonesia berjudul 5cm. Penelitian ini dilakukan secara deskrptif kualitatif. Data dianalisa sesuai dengan teori dari konteks yang di jabarkan oleh Leech (1983) dan Januarsdi (2012). Sedangkan Penganalisaan dari klasifikasi tindak tutur menggunakan teori yang di usulkan oleh Searle (1969) yang terdiri dari, representatif, direktif, komisif, ekspresif, dan deklarasi. Penelitian ini menemukan adanya 42 ujaran dianalisa dimana representative memperoleh 7 ujaran (17%), direktif 17 ujaran (40%), komisif 6 ujaran (14%), ekspresif 11 ujaran ( 26%) dan terakhir deklaratif 1 ujaran (2%). Selanjutnya penelitian ini menunjukan lima tipe konteks yang ditemukan ada 84 konteks dianalisa dimana konteks situasi memperoleh 42 (100%), konteks psikologi 38 (90%), konteks hubungan memperoleh 2(5%), dan konteks lingkungan dan konteks budaya memperoleh masing-masing hanya 1(2%). Implikasi dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mempelajari studi tentang pragmatik, khususnya tindak tutur agar dapat memahami maksud pembicara ketika mereka memproduksi ujaran dan untuk mengurangi salah paham tentang makna sehingga komunikasi menjadi lebih mudah dilakukan.Kata Kunci : Konteks, klasifikasi tindak tutur, analisa, film 5 cm ABSTRACT The aimed of this study to analyze the classification of speech acts and the context occurred in the dialogue of Indonesian movie entitled 5cm. This study was a descriptive qualitative. The data were analyzed based on theory of context proposed by Leech (1983) and Januarisdi (2012).Classifications of speech act proposed by Searle (1969) which consist of representative, directive, commissives, expressive and declaration. Findings of this study showed the five classification of speech acts found that there were 42 utterances analyzed where representative were 7 utterances (17%), directives 17 utterances (40%), commissives 6 utterances (14%), expressive 11 utterances (26%) and the last declaration 1 utterance (2%).Furthermore finding of this study showed five types of context that found there were 84 context analyzed where situational context were 42 (100%), psychological context were 38 (90%), relational context were 2 (5%), and environmental context and cultural context each of them only 1 (2%). The implication of this study to learn pragmatic especially speech act in order to understand the speaker’s intention when they produce utterances and to decrease miss understanding about the meaning so that communication will be easier to do. keyword : context,Classifications of speech act, analysis, 5cm movie
