Abstract

ABSTRACTAvicennia marina leaf extract is known to suppress the activity of Vibrio spp. using solvent klorform and methanol. Therefore, the authors conducted a further study using different solvents. This research interest determine the ability of extracts of A. marina in suppressing the activity of Vibrio spp. isolated from mud crab (Scylla serrata). A. Marina leaf take in Pantai Amal Lama, The process of extraction, isolation and testing of clear zone performed at the Laboratory of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, University of Borneo Tarakan. Stages of research are: manufacture A. marina leaf extract, isolation, culture of Vibrio spp., and data analysis. The study consisted of 6 treatments, blank control, negative control, positive control, A. marina leaf extract concentration of 15%, 25% and 35%, A. marina leaf extract in each treatment were significantly different (P 0.05). Diameter of clear zone produced at a concentration of 15% obtained an average value of 12.25 ± 5.37 mm, at a concentration of 25% 24.4 ± 1.41 mm, at a concentration of 35% 30.37 ± 0.95 mm. While the positive control 42.5 ± 0:00 mm. But the blank control and negative controls do not form clear zones. Based on these results it can be concluded that there are indications A. marina leaf extract in suppressing the activity of Vibrio spp. were tested in vitro.Keywords: Leaf of A. marina, Vibrio spp., Mangrove crabs (Scylla serrata),                 in Vitro

Abstract

Mangrove are repositories of immense biological diversity and are also the nursery and breeding ground of several marine life forms, such as species of prawns, crabs, fishes and mollusks. For Rehabilitation and add of mangrove conservation area, Tarakan Government bought 12 ha of brackish water pond. The aims of this research are: 1) to description of mangrove forest and community in conservation area added, and 2) to formulate the management strategies capability of mangrove forest in Karang Rejo Village, Tarakan city, East Kalimantan. SWOT analysis used to take for certain management strategies of mangrove based on area potencies result. The dominant mangrove species in this area is Sonneratia alba and Avicennia alba. Community around of mangrove forest conservation agrees with conservation program. Management strategies priority for management are : 1) Action of the law, 2) monitoring and protection action, 3) Ecotourism mangrove development, 4) working together of all stakeholders in area of location, 5) human resources improvement, and 6) rehabilitation and add of mangrove species. Keywords : Mangrove, Management.

Abstract

Siganus javus is one type of fish that has a lot of potential that is still not fully utilized where these fish contain protein which is high at around 69.2% (weight of wet) and 18.5% (weight of dry). The research objective is to analyze biotechnical of Model Growth absolute, allometri growth of Siganus javus. Methods of research using descriptive method. The scope of this study is the variable of growth absolute, the growth of allometri of Siganus javus. Data collection techniques using survey research design. Techniques of sampling Siganus javus using sampling with purposive sampling method. Capture as much as 12 times the sampling, each taking a maximum of 10 fish due to sampling of endemik is taking place so rarely found. The results obtained using the absolute growth in von Bertalanffy models Siganus javus of sex of male is Lt = 32,495 (1–2,718280.0091 ( t+2,091)) (r =0,627 dan n=59)  and than sex of female is Lt =  38,128 (1–2,71828- 0.0172 (t + 1,7889 ))(r =0,648 dan n=41). The models of growth allometri Siganus javus for sex of male obtained values b2.608 are allometri of negative and than for female sex obtained values b2.644 are allometri of negative.   Keywords : Siganus javus, growth of absolute, growth of Allometri, city of Tarakan

Abstract

Kerang pahut - pahut (Pharella acutidens) has value economic from the protein content of 13.08 %. The research objective was to determine the amount of population density Pharella acutidens of KKMB in the Tarakan city. Knowing Morphometry of Pharella acutidens, the correlation between shell height with a weight of Pharella acutidens, the  correlation between shell length with a weight of Pharella acutidens, the correlation between the thickness of the shell with a weight of Pharella acutidens. Knowing the environmental habitat of Pharella acutidens in terms of water quality (physical and chemical parameters). Methods of research used descriptive method. Techniques of data collection using survey research design in the field directly. Sampling techniques Pharella acutidens use the sampling area in KKMB with purposive sampling method. The results population density of Pharella acutidens at Station 1 is 0.0645+0.0375 ind/m and population density Pharella acutidens at Station 2 is 0.1234+0.0355 ind/m. Correlation between the length of the shell with weight of Pharella acutidens at Station 1 is 0.8, growth of allometri positive. Correlation between shell height with a weight is 0.7 , growth of allometri negative. Correlation between thick shells with a weight is 0.6 , growth of allometri negative. Correlation between shell length with a weight of meat in Station 2 is 0.6 with growth of allometri negative. Correlation between shell height meat weight is 0.3 with growth of allometri negative. Correlation between thick shells with meat weight is 0.4 with growth of allometri negative. Habitat of shells Pharella acutidens at Station 1 was salinity range 26.955+0.285 ppt ; DO range  .29+0.21 ppm ; temperature range 28.355+0.2450 C ; pH range of 7.51+0.29 ; TDS range of 21.07+0.2 ppm. Habitat of shells Pharella acutidens at Station 2 is salinity range 27.155+0.195 ppt ; DO range 4.32+0.17 ppm ; temperature range 27.84+0.72 0C ; pH range of 7.41+0.17 ;TDS range of 21.09+0.27 ppm. Abstract

The research method uses descriptive method. H.raphidea shrimp sampling using a sampling method in area waters by fishermen catch jauta juata Tarakan city. Sampling using purposive sampling method performed 12 times with the consideration that the sampling of 12 times expected to represent the population of shrimp Harpiosquilla raphidea in the waters Juata Tarakan City. The main variables were measured in this study is the morphological Harpiosquilla raphidea shrimp is the carapace (carapace length), shrimp body length (total length) and the shrimp body weight (total weight and the weight of meat), and gender. The result showed a growth model based on relationship the total length with the total weight for shrimp gender Male and Female are allometri negative correlation value is very strong. A growth model based on carapace length relationship with the weight of meat to shrimp gender Male and Female are allometri negative correlation value is very strong and powerful.  The percentage of the value of the condition index model based on the total length relationship with the total weight for the male sex Harpiosquilla raphidea obtained is the dominant body shape is shape flat whereas female sex condition index obtained is the dominant body shape is fat. The percentage of the value of the condition index model based on relationship carapace length with the weight of meat to Harpiosquilla raphidea male and female found is the dominant body shape body shape Slim. Sex ratio were obtained from a total of about 326 samples get the number of shrimp tails 203 are male and female pairs mantis shrimp as much as 123 birds. Sex ratio between males and females did not happen equilibrium which is 1.7: 1. Abstract

The aim of the research is to analize the leaf biomass productivity rate of Halodule uninervis. The research conducted in seagrass meadows of Derawan Island. The research method was a combination of ecological survey and field experiment. The result of the research shows that Derawan meadows dominated by H. Uninervis that made up to 86 % contribution to total relative density. H. Uninervis with average density 3.576 ± 115 ind m -2 has daily leaf productivity value 0,32 ± 0.03 g DW m -2 day -1.Key Words : carrying capacity, seagrass meadows, foraging habitat, green seaturtle,  species shifting, ecological sustainability.

Abstract

Meretrix meretrix is one type of shellfish that are included in the bivalves that are filter feeders that live in the waters. Many bacteria that live in the estuary with high salinity in the range of 20-40 ppt one of which is the Vibrio bacterium. This research aims to determine the presence of Vibrio spp. bacteria in M. meretrix from Cengkrong Mangrove Eduwisata River, Trenggalek. The Isolation of Vibrio bacteria was conducted by streat plate method on selective media of TCBSA (Thiosulfate Citrate Bile Salt Sucrose Agar) and identify the Vibrio bacterium through the morphological and biochemical tests based Bergey's Manual of Systematic Bacteriology In Microbiology laboratory of Biology Faculty of Gadjah Mada University. The Result showed there are 7 isolates Vibrio spp. bacterias in M. meretrix they are isolate 1.1, 1.4, 1.7, 1.8. 5.3, 3.5, 2.6 PSBI Keyword: Meretrix meretrix, Vibrio, identification

Abstract

Rumput laut atau dikenal juga dengan nama “Seaweed” merupakan nama lain dari algae yang merupakan salah satu komoditas ekspor potensial untuk dikembangkan. Tahun 2005 di Indonesia, rumput laut menempati urutan pertama dengan prosentase sebesar 94,70%. Jenis rumput laut banyak dimanfaatkan, karena mempunyai komposisi kandungan yang lengkap seperti; karbohidrat yang tinggi, 25-35%,  protein dari berat kering, mineral (terutama iodine), lipid, sterol, asam amino, omega-3 omega-6, anti oksidan, hormon pertumbuhan, polifenol, dan flavonoid serta vitamin C. Beberapa hasil olahan kandungan rumput laut yang bernilai ekonomis tinggi seperti agar- agar, karaginan serta alginat yang  pemanfaatannya dapat dilakukan baik dalam skala industri maupun skala rumah tangga.

Abstract

Penelitian tentang struktur ukuran dan hubungan panjang – berat ikan Nomei telah dilakukan pada bulan Nopember 2016 hingga Januari 2017 di dua lokasi, yaitu perairan Juata dan perairan Amal. Pengambilan sampel ikan di perairan Juata menggunakan pukat hela dan di perairan Amal menggunakan jermal. Panjang total diukur di atas papan ukur dengan penggaris berskala 1 mm. Berat total diukur dengan timbangan elektrik dengan ketelitian 1 gram. Selang kelas ukuran panjang ikan menggunakan aturan Sturges (Cimbala, 2014). Pola hubungan panjang-berat ikan   digunakan   persamaan   hukum kubik Le Cren (1951). Pada bulan Nopember, Desember dan Januari di perairan Juata ukuran ikan Nomei yang mendominasi berturut-turut 21,1 – 22,0 cm; 20,1 – 21,0 dan 19,1 – 20,0; sedangkan di perairan Amal berturut-turut 17,1 – 18,0; 19,1 – 20,0 dan 17,1 – 18,0. Hubungan panjang – berat ikan Nomei di perairan Juata adalah W = 0,0061.L2,95, sedangkan di perairan Amal adalah W = 0,0052.L3,00. Ikan Nomei di kedua perairan merupakan populasi yang berbeda.Kata kunci: Ikan Nomei, struktur ukuran, hubungan panjang berat

Abstract

Research objectives is to know the nature of allometri growth and an index the condition of Geloina coaxans that is in KKMB Tarakan city.Methods used is descriptive quantitative.  The research uses a method of the determination of purposive the sampling method.  The sample collection as many as 12 a plot in the area of the expansion of KKMB Tarakan city.  A plot measuring 10 x 10 m and the distance each a plot as far as 10 m.The results of research the regression equation is between long the shell of a to the weight of the y = 2.4418x-4.0447 is growth allometri negative.  The relationship between high the shell of a to the weight of the y = 2.1467x-3.3947 is growth allometri negative.  The regression equation is of the relation between the shell of a thick to the weight of the y = 2.0258x- 2.7291 is growth allometri negative.  The form of a thin body as much as 54.11%, the form of the body of 39.24% proportional, the form of a plump body as much as 6.65%.
