Abstract

In adolescence, health and nutrition have an important role in determining health and nutritional status in the next phase of the life cycle. The prevalence of abnormal nutritional status in Lampung Province is 24.91% for late adolescence aged 19 years and 35.97% for aged 20-24 years, while normal nutritional status for those aged 19 years is 75.09% and those aged 20-24 year amounted to 64.03% according to Riskesdas 2018. This occurs because there are factors that can influence nutritional status, such as body image. This study aims to determine the relationship between body image and nutritional status. The research design used in this research is analytical with a cross sectional approach, with a simple random sampling technique. There were 116 respondents obtained using the unpaired comparative categorical analytical formula. In this study there were 2 variables, namely body image and nutritional status. Body image variables are measured by MBSRQ (Multidimensional Body Self Relations Questionnaire) and body image variables are measured by body mass index. The data collected was analyzed univariately and bivariately with Chi-Square. The results of the univariate test showed that abnormal nutritional status was 65.5%, while normal nutritional status was 34.5%. In terms of body image, 20.7% of respondents had a positive body image and 79.3% had a negative body image. Based on bivariate analysis, there is a relationship between body image and nutritional status (p = 0.023). From the research results, it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between body image and the nutritional status of students in the Medical Education Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, University of Lampung.

Abstract

The problem that often arises in post sectio caesarea (SC) patients is fear of mobilizing earlier because of pain. Approximately 60% of patients have very severe pain, 25% moderate pain and 15% mild pain. The SC ERACS method is claimed to reduce postoperative pain, and allows for a faster recovery process. Enhanced recovery after caesarean surgery (ERACS) is a concept that combines evidence-based aspects of perioperative care to accelerate patient recovery. This standardizes perioperative management and achieves reproducible improvements in quality of care. Early studies on the ERACS protocol performed in colorectal surgery reported reduced hospital stays, hospitalizations, and postoperative complications coupled with improved patient satisfaction. The specific components of the ERACS protocol differ between surgical specialties and institutions, but the core principles remain the same. These principles involve interventions spanning the preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative periods. It addresses common reasons that delay patient recovery from surgery and prolong hospital stay such as inadequate analgesia, slow return of bowel function, and delayed ambulation. Some are slower. In the study conducted, 84 patients were found using the ERACS method with a distribution of 42 people in each group. Length of Stay with an average of 6 days and 11 days respectively. This study aims to make a critical review to find out whether the application of the ERACS method can provide improvements to the length of stay in the hospital, postoperative mobilization time, return of bowel/digestive tract function, and pain free condition.

Abstract

Geographically, Indonesia is in the tectonic ring, where 3 tectonic plates meet, including the Indo-Austalian Plate, the Eurasian Plate and the Pacific Plate. The meeting of these 3 plates carries the risk of an underwater earthquake causing a tsunami. Tsunamis are a threat to residential areas in coastal areas. This is the biggest problem for coastal communities because it can cause a lot of casualties and very serious damage to buildings. The largest tsunami that occurred in Indonesia was a tsunami measuring 9.3 SR (Ritcher Scale) in Aceh Province on December 26 2004, which resulted in many fatalities. This article aims to understand and describe pre-tsunami management. This article uses a qualitative approach with discussion using paragraph descriptions of the data. The results of this article explain that there are several efforts that can be made to minimize tsunamis, namely pre-tsunami management consisting of mitigation, preparedness and early detection. According to Law no. 24 of 2007, Disaster management is a dynamic, continuous and integrated process that aims to improve the quality of things related to disaster analysis and observation as well as steps for prevention, mitigation, preparedness, early warning, emergency management, disaster rehabilitation and reconstruction. . Therefore, pre-tsunami management is very important for all communities, especially communities living in areas close to the sea such as beaches and ports.

Abstract

The radiotherapy process for cervical cancer patients requires accuracy. Evaluation is usually carried out in the radiotherapy stages, one of which is by verifying geometry. This research was conducted to assess the patient's Body Mass Index (BMI) for geometric verification using the Computed Radiography (CR) portal in the 3DCRT technique with cervical cancer cases at the Radiotherapy Installation at Arifin Achmad Hospital Pekanbaru so that setup variations that occur during the radiotherapy process can be identified. The research design is descriptive qualitative. The author carried out observations and measurements of body mass index (BMI) and assessed the results of geometric setup verification using the Computed Radiography (CR) portal. The research was conducted in September-October 2023. The 17 cervical cancer patients had a Body Mass Index in the fat/obese and thin/skinny categories who took part in the research. The patient data collected is secondary data from the TPS (Treatment Planning System) planning results and verification data from the CR (Computed Radiography) computer. Data were analyzed using simple statistical methods. The results of this research explain differences in the geometric shift in the two Body Mass Index (BMI) groups in the verification process. The shift exceeds the tolerance limit value. Identification of errors that occur during verification becomes input for improving radiotherapy services.

Abstract

Pathogenic diseases are diseases that are an important problem for public health, especially in developing countries like Indonesia. This disease occurs when disease-causing microorganisms infect the host's body tissue and then multiply and react to the organism being attacked because of the toxins they produce. Several types of disease pathogens can be caused by viruses, bacteria, fungi and parasites. Detection of pathogenic bacteria as a source of infection still relies on isolation methods in pure media culture and microscopic analysis followed by biochemical reactions. However, when using existing techniques, it is difficult to isolate some bacteria in pure culture media, making it a challenge to develop other methods to identify the source of the infection. So far, identification and detection of pathogenic bacteria has only been carried out by observation based on clinical symptoms and history of disease, as well as morphological and physiological characteristics. However, this method is less efficient so a technique is needed that can detect pathogenic bacteria quickly and accurately. There are several types of methods that can be used to identify pathogenic bacteria, namely, methods that target nucleic acids, immunology-based methods, and biosensor-based methods.

Abstract

Nasal septum deviation is the occurrence of the nasal septum shifting from the midline. According to the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, nasal septum deviation is a common condition that affects approximately 80% of the population. The prevalence of nasal septum deviation can increase with age, reaching 72% at the age of 3-14 years old. Although the prevalence is pretty high, specific prevalence for Indonesia is still limited. Nasal septum deviation can be caused by trauma, birth mold theory and hereditary factors. Lateral  trauma of the nose can cause changes in the position of the cartilaginous septum, while frontal trauma can cause indentations, fractures and duplication of the nasal septum. Some nasal septum deviation can also be caused by compression effects on the nose during the intrauterine period and birth, as well as the use of forceps. The classification of nasal septum deviation generally uses the Mladina classification which consists of 7 types. The main symptom of nasal septum deviation is nasal obstruction, which can be measured through subjective and objective measurements. Septoplasty therapy is often performed to reduce subjective complaints. Epidemiological studies indicated that approximately 260,000 septoplasties were performed in the United States and 10,000–95,000 in Europe. The use of questionnaires such as the NOSE score helps in the degree of nasal obstruction and its effect on the patient's quality of life. Studies showed a relationship between nasal septum deviation and complaints of nasal obstruction, especially in the nasal valve area. As a diagnostic tool, CT scan and measuring the angle of septal deviation are used to determine the degree of septal deviation. In Indonesia, more research is still needed to understand the prevalence and characteristics of nasal septum deviation in more detail. Subjective and objective parameters, along with valid questionnaires such as the NOSE score, provide a holistic understanding of the impact of septal deviation on patients and help in the assessment and management of this condition.

Abstract

Dysphagia or complaints of difficulty swallowing is a problem that can occur in all age group, however, the incidence of dysphagia tends to be higher in the age group over 50 years, with a prevalence of around 7-22% of the total population in the world. Misidentification and the assumption that dysphagia symptoms are a process normal aging means many seniors do not seek medical help. Even though the prevalence of dysphagia is quite high, until now there is no data regarding the prevalence of dysphagia in Indonesia. The classification of dysphagia based on etiology is divided into three, namely mechanical dysphagia due to obstruction, motor dysphagia due to neuromuscular disorders and dysphagia caused by emotional disorders. The diagnosis of dysphagia is carried out using anamnesis, physical examination and supporting examinations such as Video Fluooscopy Swallow Assessment (VFSS), Flexible Endoscopy Evaluation of Shallowing (FEES), radiology, esophagoscopy and manometrics. Management that can be carried out for individuals with symptoms of dysphagia is postural techniques, modification of food patterns and textures, and maneuver techniques.

Abstract

Combustio are injuries that occur on the surface of the skin due to fire or objects with high temperatures and cause damage to the epidermis and surrounding tissue. Many combustio occur due to unplanned events so children often become victims. The high incidence of combustio in children is caused by children's impulsiveness, lack of children's awareness, high activity levels, and low control by parents. Children often suffer 1st degree combustio which is erythema of the skin and 2nd degree combustio which is damage of epidermis to the reticular layer. Treatment of 1st and 2nd degree combustio in children generally uses dressings combined with hyaluronic acid to speed up the healing process.
