Abstract

In the paper, it proposes an optimization framework addressing fairness issues for opportunity routing in wireless mesh networks, where we use network coding to ease the routing problem. We propose a distributed heuristic algorithm in the case when scheduling is determined by MAC, and discuss the suitability of our algorithm through simulations. It is found that in most situations our algorithm has better performances than the single-path algorithm and the classical network coding which is based opportunity algorithm MORE.

Abstract

Massive development of broiler farms has led to many socio-environmental problems. Based on idea that broiler farm must be located at suitable location, an expert system for site selection based on the socio-environmental factors and sustainable principles is urgently needed to cope with this problem. The objective of this research was to develop a mobile-based expert system as a guidance for broiler farmers to choose best location for broiler farm. There were four factors considered in the system: 1) ecology and environmental impact, 2) economic and infrastructure, 3) natural condition, and 4) natural disaster vulnerability, each of which consists of sub-factors. A mobile-based expert system has been developed by using opensource web GIS server and PostgreSQL/PostGIS, and can be installed on Android device. As conclusion, a mobile-based expert system has been developed and can be used to determine suitable location for broiler farm development.

Abstract

In this paper, a new gender recognition approach in accordance with the fusion of features extracted from electromyogram (EMG) and heart rate variability (HRV) during stepping activity using a stair stepper device is proposed. The fusion of EMG and HRV is investigated based on feature fusion approach. The feature fusion is carried out by chaining the feature vector extracted from the EMG and HRV signals. A proposed approach comprises of a sequence of processing steps which are preprocessing, feature extraction, feature selection and the feature fusion. The results demonstrated that the fusion approach had enhanced the performance of gender recognition compared to solely on EMG or HRV for the gender recognition.

Abstract

Ranking of an activity is very important to support work effectiveness. Previous works, ranking for distribution product is used by manual process or averaging value. Problem in this research, the research should be found the effective way to rank the distribution product. This research proposes assist the ranking with a computational model based on Fuzzy Multiple Decision Making (FMADM). Getting an effective ranking, a variable in FMADM computing is required. Variables is used in this research such as number of households, number of small-scale enterprises run by households, gross domestic regional income, and economic growth rate of a region. Research completion is assisted by using self-built research methods. Research method consists of determining value of origin, determining degree of membership, determining weight of each variable, calculation of relation matrix, calculation of the preference value in each village for ranking value, and last is sorting. Operationalized FMADM is gain a result with three priorities district. Priority number one is all of district that have a rank or Vij (alternative rank) higher than 0.4. It means only 7% or 5 villages with the highest rank. Priority number second s all of district that have rank between Vij = 0.26 and Vij = 0.4. It means only 62% or 44 villages. Priority number three is district that have a rank lower than Vij = 0.26, and only 31% or 22 villages. Impact in use of FMADM, calculated in rank, is the process runs effective and dynamic with changing of weighted. User can arrange of weighted as needed.

Abstract

Breast cancer is a health problem in the world. To overcome this problem requires early detection of breast cancer. The purpose of this study is to classify early breast cancer grades. Combination of physical parameters with k-nearest neighbor Method is proposed to detect early breast cancer grades. The experiments were performed on 87 mammograms consisting of 12 mammograms of grade 1,41 mammograms of grade 2 and 34 mammogram of grade 3. The proposed method was effective to classify the grades of breast cancer by an accuracy of 64.36%, 50% sensitivity and 73,5% specitifity. Physical parameters can be used to classify grades of breast cancer. The results of this study can be used to complement the diagnosis of breast mammography examination.

Abstract

Indonesian Disaster Data and Information in 2016 showed that flood has reached a soaring 32.2% overall. In one of the common flood region (2016), Tangerang, the flood had impacted 30,949, and destroys more than 400 residentials. In spite of this dreadful fact, Tangerang has no systematically ways of detecting the flood patterns. Therefore, there is urgency for a system that is able to detect potential flood risks in Tangerang. This study explores a mean to systematically find flood patterns in Tangerang and attempt to visualize the risks based on 11 years of data on four major river stations within Tangerang vicinity. All the data obtained from Ciliwung Cisadane River Basin Center (BBWS) between 2009 until 2017 with total data of 368,184 rows. This study proposes an interactive dashboard based on the water level data covering rivers of Angke, Pesanggrahan, and Cisadane. Three clustering methods are implemented, the K-Medoids, DBScan, and x-means, to segregate the water level data, taken from four stations obtained from Ciliwung Cisadane River Basin Center (BBWS), into meaningfull periodic flood patterns. The output of this research is an interactive dashboard created based on the newly found patterns. The dashboard is designed to be simple and easy to use for non-technical persons. We believe that the output of this research could be implemented into the decision-making process taken by the Ciliwung Cisadane River Basin Center (BBWS) in order to improve countermeasure attempts on the potentially flooded areas.

Abstract

Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) is a radiographic technique that has been commonly used to help doctors provide more detailed information for further examination. Teeth segmentation on CBCT image has many challenges such as low contrast, blurred teeth boundary and irregular contour of the teeth. In addition, because the CBCT produces a lot of slices, in which the neighboring slices have related information, the semi-automatic image segmentation method, that needs manual marking from the user, becomes exhaustive and inefficient. In this research, we propose an automatic image slice marking propagation on segmentation of dental CBCT. The segmentation result of the first slice will be propagated as the marker for the segmentation of the next slices. The experimental results show that the proposed method is successful in segmenting the teeth on CBCT images with the value of Misclassification Error (ME) and Relative Foreground Area Error (RAE) of 0.112 and 0.478, respectively.

Abstract

Keywords help readers to understand the idea of a document quickly. Unfortunately, considerable time and effort are often needed to come up with a good set of keywords manually. This research focused on generating keywords from a document automatically using phrase chunking. Firstly, we collected part of speech patterns from a collection of documents. Secondly, we used those patterns to extract candidate keywords from the abstract and the content of a document. Finally, keywords are selected from the candidates based on the number of words in the keyword phrases and some scenarios involving candidate reduction and sorting. We evaluated the result of each scenario using precision, recall, and F-measure. The experiment results show: i) shorter-phrase keywords with string reduction extracted from the abstract and sorted by frequency provides the highest score, ii) in every proposed scenario, extracting keywords using the abstract always presents a better result, iii) using shorter-phrase patterns in keywords extraction gives better score in comparison to using all phrase patterns, iv) sorting scenarios based on the multiplication of candidate frequencies and the weight of the phrase patterns offer better results.

Abstract

Matrix equations have its own important in the field of control system engineering particularly in the stability analysis of linear control systems and the reduction of nonlinear control system models. There are certain conditions where the classical matrix equation are not well equipped to handle the uncertainty problems such as during the process of stability analysis and reduction in control system engineering. In this study, an algorithm is developed for solving fully fuzzy matrix equation particularly for ~ A ~X ~B ???? ~X = ~ C, where the coefficients of the equation are in near-zero fuzzy numbers. By modifying the existing fuzzy multiplication arithmetic operators, the proposed algorithm exceeds the positive restriction to allow the near-zero fuzzy numbers as the coefficients. Besides that, a new fuzzy subtraction arithmetic operator has also been proposed as the existing operator failed to satisfy the both sides of the nearzero fully fuzzy matrix equation. Subsequently, Kronecker product and V ec-operator are adapted with the modified fuzzy arithmetic operator in order to transform the fully fuzzy matrix equation to a fully fuzzy linear system. On top of that, a new associated linear system is developed to obtain the final solution. A numerical example and the verification of the solution are presented to demonstrate the proposed algorithm.

Abstract

Optic nerve head is part of the retina where ganglion cell axons exit the eye to form the optic nerve. Glaucomatous changes related to loss of the nerve fibers decrease the neuroretinal rim and expand the area and volume of the cup. Therefore optic nerve head evaluation is important for early diagnosis of glaucoma. This study implements the detection of the optic nerve head in retinal fundus images based on the Hough Transform and Active Contour Models. The process starts with the image enhancement using homomorphic filtering for illumination correction, then proceeds with the removal of blood vessels on the image to facilitate the subsequent segmentation process. The result of the Hough Transform fitting circle becomes the initial level set for the active contour model. The experimental results show that the implemented segmentation algorithms are capable of segmenting optic nerve head with the average accuracy of 75.56% using 30 retinal images from the DRIVE database.Optic nerve head segmentation using hough transform and active contours
