Abstract

This study aims to improve the skills of telling students VII A SMP Negeri 4 Purbalingga after using wayang cartoon media. The method of this research is descriptive quantitative and qualitative descriptive. The research design used is classroom action research. Classroom action research process includes cycle I and cycle II. The results showed an increase in storytelling skills. The average value and study completeness has increased significantly. Cycle I 61,87 sufficient category and cycle II 76,31 good category. Observations on student attitudes also indicate a better improvement. Students are more enthusiastic about learning and learning becomes fun.

Abstract

Language politeness, especially politeness of directive actions among elementary school students is the main foundation for instilling the character building of children. This directive politeness action has decreased over time in line with the century of global communication and computing. This study aims to describe the shift in the realization of directive politeness act (DPA) among elementary students with a Javanese cultural background. This research method takes the form of qualitative with a dual case study strategy. Sources of research data include all elementary school students and teachers in Surakarta and Yogyakarta. Data collection techniques are carried out by observing techniques actively involved, observing free involvement, and reinforced by FGD techniques. The research data in the form of speech from DPA elementary school students in conducting language activities in a school environment both in formal and non-formal settings. Data analysis was carried out using Leech model of politeness scale technique which was strengthened by politeness analysis with the principle of social, cultural harmony, the harmony of the Gunarwan and Prayitno models. The results of the study abstract that: (a) the realization of the DPA students experience a shift in line with the shifting of the time and context of the wearer, (b) the realization of DPA can reduce the positive politeness values and psychological characteristics of the students' character, (c) the realization of the student's DPA This digital trend tends to use direct and literal methods in line with the influence of the context of communication patterns and centuries of practical computing, (d) the taxonomic shift in the dominant DPA in the sub-TKD requires, (e) the DPA taxonomy begs parallel with its realization in the sub-DPA pleading, (f) the taxonomic shift in DPA invites the dominant in the sub-DPA to persuade, (g) the taxonomic shift in DPA advises the dominant sub-DPA to remind, (h) the taxonomic shift in DPA reprimands the dominant sub-DPA satire, (i) the taxonomy of DPA prohibits parallel with the realization of the sub-DPA prohibits, (j) the character of the DPA used by elementary students with a Javanese cultural background shifts in line with shifting understanding the values of language politeness and understanding of character among the wearer.

Abstract

This study was carried out to produce a single sentence forms in the Minangkabau language acquisition in children 3-4 years of age with Syntax Overview. Forms a single sentence in the Minangkabau language acquisition in children age 3-4 year review based on declarative sentence (statement), interrogative (questions), and imperative (request). Reviews theories used in the study that is the first language acquisition, the forms of a single sentence, the acquisition of syntax in children aged 3-4 years, and Minangkabau language. This article is a review based on a qualitative approach using descriptive method. Source of data used children 3-4 years old female gender. Data in the form of speech, speech writing children aged 3-4 years which contain forms of a single sentence in the form of declarative sentences, interrogative, and imperative. Data collection techniques in this study as follows to record and observe the child who was talking to another friend, a parent, or to the researchers directly. Techniques for data analysis in this study: First, transcribing into the language of the Minangkabau language copy of the tape to the Indonesian language. Second, underline and give code discretion of the child in accordance with the forms of declarative sentences, interrogative, and imperative. Third, interpret or give meaning research results in the form of the sentence forms. Fourth, draw conclusions. Research results in the form of speech, speech delivered by Child Age 3-4 years. In this case informannya natured woman named Tika. Tika in communicating day-to-day use Minangkabau language of their parents, among friends, and the researchers themselves. Speeches delivered in the form of a single sentence in the form of declarative sentences, interrogative sentences and imperative sentences.

Abstract

This research aimed to describe language acquisition in the phonology. The method of the research was a qualitative descriptive by observation and technique of noting. The data source of the research was a record of voice of a three year four month year old child named Wesly when singing two songs of children movie shows of "Tayo" and "Rainbow Ruby." The result of the research showed that the child has been able to speak the understandable language. On the other hand, there were still some difficulties in pronouncing the correct and good phoneme. They could be seen in the difficulty of 1) phoneme pronunciation on consonant-type plosive sound; 2) phoneme pronunciation on vowel sound. There were seven forms of plosive sound for the difficulty of phoneme pronunciation of the consonant plosive sound, such as: 1) bilabial, 2) lamino-palatal, 3) apico-alveolar, 4) , 5) dorso velar, 6) alveolar, and 7) lamino-patal. In addition, there was one form of sound for the difficulty of phoneme pronunciation of the vowel sound namely the diphthong phoneme.Keywords: Language, Language Acquisition, Phonology.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan lirik lagu Bojo Galak dalam menggambarkan citra tokoh perempuan di mata pasangannya yang setia. Metode dalam penelitian ini menggunakan deskriptif kualitatif untuk melihat lirik Bojo Galak sebagai salah satu bahasa yang menggambarkan citra perempuan menggunakan pendekatan semiotik dan linguistik kognitif. Dari hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa citra perempuan yang digambarkan dalam lirik lagu Bojo Galak karya Pendhoza menunjukkan citra perempuan yang memiliki superioritas tinggi. Citra seorang perempuan yang ditampilkan dalam lirik lagu Bojo Galak digambarkan, perempuan sebagai subjek superior yang memiliki kekuasaan lebih tinggi dibandingkan laki-laki. Atau singkatnya wanita sebagai kaum yang benar, sedangkan laki-laki sebagai kaum yang tertindas. Hal ini terlihat pada beberapa lirik lagu yang disajikan oleh pencipta. Selain itu, lirik-lirik yang membangun lagu Bojo Galak ini juga merepresentasikan bahwa masih ada laki-laki yang tetap setia dan berusaha mempertahankan rumah tangganya walaupun ia sering tersakiti. Karena sejatinya, bagaimanapun keadaannya laki-laki selalu membutuhkan seorang wanita.

Abstract

The objective of this study was to find and to obtain a profound uderstanding of the moral value of the main character in the novel “Ayat-ayat Cinta 1” by Habiburrahman El Shirazy in response the sixth semester students Department of PBSI (Indonesian Language and Literature Education) UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. Student’s receptions include: 1) student’s response on religious moral values, 2) student response on the moral values of personality, 3) student’s response on social moral values. This qualitative research was obtained through closed questionnaires and interviews. The data collection procedure is done by determining the respondents who have read and understand the novel, spread the questionnaire, and then do the interview, collecting the data, classify data, and analyze the data. Analytical techniques of data analysis include: the stage of reduction / codification of the data presentation stage, and the stage of conclusion or verification. The result of the research shows that the moral value of religion the main character with percentage 9,3% both, as well as the moral values of personality with percentage 9,0%, and the social moral value with percentage 9,6%. The moral value of the main character can be an example for the student so as to form a strong character in religious moral values, moral values of personality, and social moral values.

Abstract

This research and development has purpose to describe the findings of the guidance of material book product development of literature appreciation learning based on reception theory for Senior High School teachers; to describe the validity of the book by expert judgments; and to describe the reliability by teachers based on content, service, language, and graphic aspects. The research uses Borg and Gall model through the modified stages: preliminary, product development planning, product development, expert validity test, product revising, and product trial run. The validity results from content experts shows the content reliability gaining score 4.17, categorized very well; service reliability gaining score 4.38, categorized very well; and language reliability gaining score 4.25, categorized very well. The product validity from graphic expert gains score of 4.14, categorized very well. The product reliability gained from 25 Indonesian language teachers shows the content, gaining 4.32, categorized very well; service reliability gaining score 4.38, categorized very well; language reliability gaining score 4.37, categorized very well; and graphic reliability gaining score 4.41, categorized very well. The development was the useful form of innovation to maximize the learning process in schools.

Abstract

This study aims to explain the differences in the results of learning to write explanatory text, namely: (1) between students taught using learning discovery learning model with students taught using conventional learning model, (2) interaction between learning model of explanatory writing skill. This type of research is quasi experiment and the design used is 2x2 factorial. Sampling is done by purposive sampling. Analysis and discussion of data is done descriptively. The result of data analysis can be concluded. First, writing explanatory texts that are taught using discovery learning learning model is better than students taught by conventional learning model. Second, there is no interaction between the learning model in influencing the ability to write explanatory text of students. Thus, it can be concluded that the learning model discovery learning can influence the skills of writing text eksplanasi MTsN students Durian Tarung Padang.

Abstract

The research intents on describing and explaining the honorifics forms of Samawa language and their use effect factors. The conducted method is case study. Source of data is native speaker of Samawa language in Sumbawa by purposive sampling. Data collection is conducted by in-depth interview with the informants. Data is analysed by interactive model. Furthermore, research findings present that (1) honorific forms of Samawa language is classified by two, they are referent honorific (first person pronoun, second person pronoun, and third person pronoun) and hearer honorific (family relation, professional relation, title, marital status, and general greeting nominal); (2) factor that affects the honorific use of Samawa language contains of power (sex, age, position in the family, occupation, position in an institution, marital status, and education), distance (solidarity, familiarity, and affect), and formality (purpose and setting).
