Abstract

This research was aimed to determine the increasing of students' motivation that has been applied by Numbered Heads Together (NHT) learning model with Science, Environment, Technology, Society (SETS) approach. The design of this study was quasi experiment with One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The data of students’ learning motivation obtained through questionnaire administered before and after NHT learning model with SETS approach. In this research, the indicators of learning-motivation were facing tasks diligently, showing interest in variety of problems, prefering to work independently, keeping students’ opinions, and feeling happy to find and solve problems. Increasing of the students’ learning motivation was analyzed by using a gain test. The results showed that applying NHT learning model with SETS approach could increase the students’ learning motivation in medium categories.

Abstract

Dalam usaha mendapatkan hasil belajar siswa yang baik maka tenaga pendidikan harus mempunyai strategi dalam melakukan pembelajaran. Salah satu model pembelajaran yang dapat digunakan yaitu Advance Organizer. Dalam hal menunjang penggunaan suatu model, maka diperlukannya penggunaan media pembelajaran tertentu, salah satu media yang dapat digunakan yaitu media animasi komputer. Sampel penelitian diambil berdasarkan Sampling Jenuh. Desain penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah desain kelompok Two group posttest only. Hasil analisis daya serap dalam kategori baik, ketuntasan belajar secara klasikal sudah tuntas dan efektivitas pembelajaran adalah efektif. Ini berarti bahwa penggunaan model Advance Organizer berbantu animasi komputer adalah efektif digunakan dalam melihat hasil belajar fisika siswa SMA Rambah Hilir baik ditinjau melalui daya serap, ketuntasan belajar dan efektivitas pembelajarannya.In an effort to get the good results of student learning the teacher must have strategies for learning. One model of learning that can be used is Advance Organizer. In terms of supporting the use of a single model, there is a need for the use of specific instructional media. The media that can be used is computer animation media. The design used in this research was the group design of two group posttest only. The results of the analysis of absorption was in good, classical learning completeness has been completed and the effectiveness of learning was effective. This means that the use of model Advance Organizer assested computer animation is effective in view student learning outcomes of physics at SMA Rambah Hilir well reviewed through absorption, mastery learning and learning effectiveness.

Abstract

A virtual laboratory for electrical materials has been developed in this study. The virtual laboratory was developed as an alternative laboratory due to the limited equipment of physics experiments and simultaneously assisting students in visualizing abstract concepts in physics. This article discusses the results of testing on the effects of virtual laboratories on improving the creativity of prospective physics teachers. Measurable creativity includes verbal and figural creativity. The model testing process uses the quasi-experimental method. The participant of this research is prospective physics teachers in Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, University of Mataram. The research instrument used in the form of tests of verbal and figural creativity related to the electrical material being studied. The results showed that there is a difference in the improvement of prospective physics teachers’ creativity after learning in both groups. In general, the increase in creativity in the experimental group is higher than the control group. The increase in verbal and figural creativity of the two groups also differed significantly. In both groups, the increase of verbal creativity is higher than that of figural creativity. This suggested that the developed virtual lab model proved to enhance the creativity of prospective physics teachers.

Abstract

Kearifan lokal merupakan nilai-nilai yang berlaku dalam suatu mayarakat, yang diyakini kebenarannya dan menjadi acuan dalam bertingkah laku sehari-hari, serta menggambarkan cara bersikap dan bertindak untuk merespons perubahan-perubahan yang khas dalam ingkungan fisik maupun kultural. Kearifan lokal yang ada di setiap daerah di Inonesia merupakan satu aset atau harta terpendam bagi bangsa Indonesia yang harus digali dan terus dipertahankan sebagai satu kesatuan dalam hidup dan kehidupan semua masyarakat Indonesia. Tujuan penulisan artikel ini adalah menentukan cara (1) menanamkan kearifan lokal bagi generasi muda, (2) mendesiminasikan kearifan lokal dilakukan melalui  pendidikan. Metode penelitian analisis kepustakaan. Hasil analisis menyimpulkan salah satu cara menanamkan kearifan lokal dengan mengaitkannya pada pembelajaran Fisika terintegrasi kebencanaan alam bervisi  Science Environment Technology and Society (SETS). Desiminasi kearifan lokal dapat dilakukan melalui pendidikan, termasuk dalam  pembelajaran dan penelitian kependidikan, serta penulisan artikel di media. Local wisdom is the values prevailing in a society, which is believed to be true and become a reference in the daily activity, and describe how to behave and act in response to specific changes in physical and cultural environment. Local wisdom in every region in Indonesia is an asset or a hidden treasure for the nation of Indonesia to be collected and maintained as a unity in life and the lives of all the people of Indonesia. The purpose of writing this article is to determine how to (1) embed local wisdom to the younger generation, (2) disseminate local wisdom through education. Analysis of the literature research method. Results of the analysis concluded one way of instilling local wisdom by associating the natural disaster integrated physics learning in the vision of Environment Science Technology and Society (SETS). Dissemination of local wisdom can be done through education, including the teaching and educational research, as well as writing articles in the media.

Abstract

This research aimed to improve students’s cognition and metacognition through kinematics and dynamics of particle experiment assissted by video recording and tracker software analysis. The research used problem solving learning model which developed using R & D method with 4-D steps, they are define, design, develop, and disseminate. The research involved 86 physics education students academic year 2013/2014 at one of the universities in Medan. The research method is quasi-experimental using randomized control group pretest-posttest design. The experimental class used problem solving learning model assisted by video recording and the control class used direct learning model. The cognition data were collected using multiple-choice test and meta-cognition data were collected using essay test. The students’s cognition and metacognition improvement characterized by the normalized gain score. The research result show that the use of video recording and tracker software analysis was improve the students’ cognition and metacognition in Kinematics and Dynamics topic in moderate category.

Abstract

Sulawesi Selatan memiliki cadangan nikel berlimpah di daerah Sorowako, Kabupaten Luwu Timur, yang sampai saat ini masih terikat kontrak karya dengan P.T. Vale Indonesia. Potensi nikel dalam jumlah besar dan terus bertambah sehingga dalam proses produksi dan eksplorasinya harus tepat, ramah lingkungan agar memiliki nilai ekonomi tinggi. Data yang dilaporkan dalam penelitian ini berupa hasil karakterisasi komposisi unsur, senyawa dan kekerasan batuan nikel. Pemilahan dan penyiapan sampel dilakukan secara manual dalam ukuran 2 cm x 2 cm x 0,5 cm. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa komposisi utama dari batuan nikel didominasi oleh nikel (Ni) dan silikon (Si). Kekerasan batuan nikel mencapai 130 sampai 155 HVN-100 serta temperatur transisi gelas pada kisaran 9000C. Berdasarkan data ini, batuan nikel potensial untuk diolah secara industri.ABSTRACTSouth Sulawesi has abundant reserve of nickel in Sorowako, East Luwu, which is still in the status of work contract bond with P.T. Vale, Indonesia. The huge nickel potential of the area and the growing production brings the need to process the exploration precisely and friendly to generate high economic value. The data reported in this study are characterization result of the elements composition, compounds and hardness of the nickel ore. Samples were prepared manually, each in size of 2cm x 2cm x 0,5cm. The analysis showed that the main composition of the nickel ore was dominated by nickel (Ni) and silicon (Si). Nickel ore hardness reaches 130 to 155 HVN-100 as well as the glass transition temperature in the range of 9000C. Based on the data found, the nickel ores are furthermore processable industrially.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuat biomaterial substitusi tulang yang menyerupai komposisi tulang sebenarnya, yang terdiri dari mineral inorganik (apatit) dan bahan organik sebagai matriks. Pada penelitian ini metode presipitasi digunakan dalam pembuatan komposit apatit-kitosan dengan menggunakan cangkang telur ayam dan bebek sebagai sumber kalsium dan KH2PO4 sintetik sebagai sumber posfat. Cangkang telur dan KH2PO4 sebagai mineral inorganik tulang, sedangkan matriks organik yang digunakan adalah kitosan dari kulit udang. Cangkang telur ayam dan bebek dikalsinasi untuk menghilangkan semua komponen karbonat (CO3) sehingga didapatkan CaO sebagai sumber kalsium. Komposit apatit-kitosan dibuat dengan menumbuhkan senyawa kalsium posfat pada matriks dengan metode ek situ. Sampel yang dihasilkan selanjutnya dikeringkan pada suhu 50 oC. Karakteristik sampel selanjutnya dianalisis menggunakan X-ray Diffraction (XRD) dan Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) Spectroscopy. Pola XRD sampel memperlihatkan adanya puncak-puncak difraksi untuk kristal apatit. Data tersebut didukung oleh spektrum FTIR yang memperlihatkan puncak transmitansi dari fosfat dan karbonat dari kristal apatit. This study aimed to develop bone substituted biomaterial consisting of inorganic mineral (apatit) and organic material as matrix. In this study, a precipitation method of apatite-chitosan composite synthesis has been used using hen’s and duck’s eggshell as calcium source and synthetic KH2PO4 as phosphate source. The eggshell and KH2PO4 act as inorganic mineral, whereas organic matrix used was chitosan originated from shrimp shell. The eggshell was calcinated to decompose all the carbonate (CO3) phases. To produce the composite, calcium phosphates were grown on organic matrix of chitosan using ex situ method. The result samples were further dried at 50 oC. Characteristic of the samples were performed using X-ray Diffraction (XRD) and Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) Spectroscopy. The XRD profile illustrated specific diffraction angles at peaks of apatite crystals. This data were supported by FTIR spectra that showed transmittance peak of phosphates and carbonates from apatites.

Abstract

Penelitian yang telah dilakukan adalah pembuatan dan penghitungan kualitas citra digital menggunakan program Modulation Transfer Function (MTF) pada sistem Computed Radiography (CR) untuk kegiatan Quality Control (QC). MTF dapat digunakan untuk menganalisis resolusi spasial citra digital secara akurat. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan phantom yang terbuat dari tembaga berukuran 15x15 cm dengan ketebalan 1 mm. Phantom dieksposi dengan variasi tegangan 50 kV, 60 kV, 70 kV dan 81 kV dan masing-masing dilakukan variasi arus. Data yang diperoleh berupa file citra digital radiografi format DICOM yang kemudian dilakukan analisis kualitas citranya menggunakan PC diluar sistem CR dengan metode MTF. Metode ini sangat efisien dalam melakukan QC resolusi spasial secara kuantitatif sehingga dapat digunakan untuk menilai kualitas pesawat CR. Hasil pengukuran menunjukkan bahwa semakin tinggi tegangan yang digunakan, maka kualitas citra semakin baik dengan arus optimal pada rentang 4-8 mAs dengan rata-rata nilai resolusi spasial 7,26 lp/mm.The research was analyzing of digital image quality by using Modulation Transfer Function (MTF) on Computed Radiography (CR) system for Quality Control (QC). MTF can be used for analyzing digital image spatial resolution accurately. The research used phantom that made of 15x15 cm2 copper and 1 mm thickness. The phantom was expounded with voltage variations by 50 kV, 60 kV, 70 kV dan 81 kV and each of them have been taken by variations of the current. The the image quality of data obtained in the form of radiography digital image files with DICOM format were then analyzed using PC out of CR system with methode of MTF. This methode is really efficient for QC spatial resolution quantitatively and so it can be used for assesing the quality of CR. The measurement results showed that the higher the voltage, the better image quality with optimal current was on the range between 4-8 mAs with the average value of MTF 7,26 lp/mm.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to explore the impact of interactive-conceptual-instruction with visualization on logic thinking, conceptual understanding and spiritual aspect embedding. The sampling technique used in this research was convenience sampling. This research used mixed methods with embedded experiment design. The data of logic thinking and conceptual understanding was collected through pre-test and post-test. The questionnaires were used to collect data on spiritual attitudes and were analyzed qualitatively. The results showed that logic thinking-ability improves from no logic thinking to inductive-deductive logic thinking. The improvement of logic thinking abilities was in the medium category. Understanding the concept shifted from incompetent to conceptual understanding with improvement, in the medium category. The questionnaires analysis showed that the students got spiritual values related to the awareness of God believing behind the natural phenomena that impact on their spiritual attitudes. This study also tried to apply the results of pure science research to support learning activities. Based on the result of the research, it can be concluded that the learning process using interactive conceptual with visualization can improve logic thinking, conceptual comprehension, and spiritual attitude embeding.

Abstract

Telah dilakukan deposisi film tipis ZnO:Ga di atas substrat kaca korning pada tekanan deposisi 500 mtorr dengan metode DC-magnetron sputtering. Film ditumbuhkan masing-masing pada suhu 325oC, 375oC, dan 425oC. Struktur, sifat optik dan sifat listrik film tipis yang dideposisikan telah dikarakterisasi dengan menggunakan EDX, XRD, SEM, spektrofotometer UV-Vis dan I-V Meter. Analisis EDX menunjukkan bahwa film yang terdeposisi merupakan film tipis ZnO:Ga. Hasil analisis struktur dengan XRD menunjukkan bahwa film tipis ZnO:Ga yang dideposisikan merupakan polikristalin dengan struktur heksagonal wurtzite. Film ZnO:Ga yang dideposisikan pada suhu 325o mempunyai kualitas kristal yang lebih baik dibandingkan dengan film yang dideposisikan pada suhu 375o dan 425oC. Hasil XRD juga terkonfirmasi dengan observasi SEM menunjukkan bahwa film ZnO:Ga yang dideposisikan pada suhu 325oC mempunyai ukuran butir yang lebih homogen dibandingkan dengan film yang ditumbuhkan pada suhu deposisi 375o dan 425oC. Film tipis ZnO:Ga yang ditumbuhkan pada suhu 325oC mencapai transmitansi optik ~ 89% dan energi bandgap ~3,33 eV. Sifat listrik dapat diketahui dengan menggunakan I-V Meter yang menunjukkan nilai  1,74 x10ˉ3 (Ωcm)ˉ1 pada suhu deposisi 325oC. Thin films ZnO:Ga were deposited on corning glass substrates with argon gas pressure 500 mtorr and variation temperature at 325oC,  375oC and 425oC by DC-Magnetron Sputtering. The structural studies, optical and electricity properties of the thin films have been investigated by means of EDX, XRD, SEM, Uv-Vis spectroscopy and I-V meter. The EDX result show that thin films were deposited is ZnO:Ga thin films. The structural studies result from XRD show the ZnO:Ga thin films deposited have polycrystalline with the hexagonal wurtzite structure. ZnO:Ga film were deposited at 325oC have the better quality crystal with the other. The XRD result also appropriate with SEM, it was shown at 325oC has grain size more homogeny with the other films. Thin films ZnO:Ga was deposited at 325oC has the optical transmittance ~89% and the bandgap ~3,33 eV. Electrical conductivity 1.74 x10ˉ3 (Ωcm)ˉ1 at deposited  325oC.Â
