Abstract

This article describes the situation and potential of SMEs in East Java Indonesia. Small and medium enterprises are essential to support the economic progress of a country. By using descriptive analysis and multiple regression then generated mapping. Mapping the characteristics and competitiveness of SMEs is done as a basis for gap analysis. If the current condition of Indonesian SMEs is known, benchmarking can be done by comparing ideal conditions or targets to be achieved in the face of global competition. The mapping generated from this research is expected to provide an overall picture of SMEs in disrict of Jember, Bondosowo, Situbondo and Banyuwangi, East Java Province, Indonesia, so that it can assist government and business actors in determining business strategies and policies. This study found the variables that significantly affect the competitive position are innovation ability, quality focus, customer loyalty, response to change, price advantage and marketing power. While the insignificant membership of the cooperative, it does not have a significant role for the creation of a strong competitive position. This is supported by the fact that most of the SMEs in eastern Java are not members of the cooperative. Similarly, business status with legal status and not and the use of intermediary traders is not a thing that affects the strength of competitive position.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze pricing and promote strategies to increase customer loyalty of sharia banks in Kudus, Central Java, Indonesia. This research method using qualitative and quantitative approach. The data used is time series data. The population of this study are customers who actively transact in Islamic banks in Kudus. Sampling technique using non probability sampling with accidental type of sampling. So the number of respondents needed in this research is a number of 100 active bank customers. The analytical method uses correlational descriptive analysis using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), correlational assumption test and classical assumption test using AMOS 20 software. The result of this research explains that price and promotion contribute to increase customer and product loyalty which can become empirical variable. This proves that Sharia Bank is expected to have a special strategy to increase customer loyalty. How to increase loyalty in addition to improving the quality of Islamic banking products such as murobahah, musyarokah and mudharobah is to improve the characteristics of macro and Sharia micro finance institutions. This is because the excess of syariah bank products has never been found in conventional financial institutions in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the effect of interest rate change policy made by Bank Indonesia during the period of January 2010-March 2016 to stock return of the property sector and real estate. In addition, this study also aims to test whether fluctuations in government bond yields, inflation, and indigo exchange also affect the stock returns of the property sector and real estate in Indonesia. By using purposive sampling, there are 15 companies that will be used as research samples. By using multiple linear regression analysis, there is no significant negative effect of interest rate (BI Rate) and inflation on stock return of the property sector and real estate. Nevertheless, it was found that the variable fluctuation of government bond yield and dollar exchange rate against rupiah had a negative and significant effect on stock returns of property and real estate sector in Indonesia. Increased bond yield would make investors choose other instruments as an alternative to investing money. In addition, investors also tend to choose to save money in the form of US Dollar rather than investing money in the capital market, further with the weakening of the value of the rupiah will increase the amount of foreign debt from the company.
