Harmonia: Journal of Arts Research and Education is published by Departement of Drama, Dance, and Music, Faculty of Language and Arts, Universitas Negeri Semarang in cooperation with Asosiasi Profesi Pendidik Sendratasik Indonesia (AP2SENI)/The Association of Profession for Indonesian Sendratasik Educators, two times a years. Abstract

This research is aimed to give an image of aesthetic education implementation through art inLanguages and Arts Faculty in Semarang State University. Applied method in this research isqualitative method. Data collection technique are done by observation, inter view, anddocumentation. Analyzing data is done by using interactive analysis. Technique of checkingrelevance data done by using triangulation. The result of this research shows that aestheticeducation implementation through art in Languages and Arts Faculty are done in form of formaland non-formal aesthetics. Formal aesthetic education are done by all of students in languagesand arts faculty through art materials. Non-formal aesthetics education are done by academicconsists of students, lecturers, employees, as well as the head of faculty. Non-formal estheticseducation mainly are done as a coordinating institution of students’ activity unit. Aestheticseducation for lecturers, employees, as well as the head of faculty mainly done through artappreciation and creation by watching art exhibition, watching art performances, doing artactivities which held by faculties and majors events.Kata kunci : seni budaya, estetika, pendidikan, apresiasi, kreasi

Abstract

Aesthetic is not only presents beauty that give pleasure without any interest of thesense, but also gives an recognition for people in terms of developing social,economic, politic, and culture phenomenon. Aesthetic which gives beauty has essenceof recognition social and culture phenomenon changes system and culture, changesvalue system in society. Reality life is imagination, fantasy, and absurd dreams,whereas the truth and kindness of beauty only occur in ideas which create beauty of lifemanagement and the value of culture system itself. Abstract

Barongsai is a traditional art of Chinese ethnic in Semarang, which comes from China. That art still existsand develop until nowadays although have lot of pressures both from Orde Lama and Orde Baru. Researchstudies were: (1) origin of Barongsai, (2) form of Barongsai art performance, (3) function of Barongsai art,(4) meaning of Barongsai art for Chinese ethnic in Semarang. Applied research method is qualitativemethod. Techniques of data collection are observation, interview, and documentation studies. Techniqueod data analysis are reducing, clarifying, decrypting, concluding, and interpreting all informationselectively. Techniques of checking relevance data were dependability and conformability. Research resultshows that Barongsai is an art comes from China entered Semarang by Chinese merchant. Form ofBarongsai performance are divided into three stages, those are flag play, Barongsai play, and ending.Function of Barongsai art for Chinese ethnic in Semarang are ritual, entertainment, and politic function.Whereas meaning of Barongsai art for Chinese ethnic in Semarang are symbolic meaning and strategymeaning.Kata Kunci : kesenian barongsai, fungsi, makna, masyarakat etnis Cina

Abstract

Laesan art is a kind of traditional art, which is a result of aesthetic expression of people with trancephenomenon in side. Here, implicit symbols occur in Laesan art, then it is interpreted by theaudiences and applied in terms of behavior patterns of people in Bajomulyo. From that phenomenon,research studies are form of aesthetic expression and meaning of symbols of Laesan art. Thisresearch uses qualitative approach, with data collection technique done by interview, observation ofparticipants, and documentation study. Analyzing data done by reducing, clarifying, decrypting,concluding, and interpreting all information selectively. Techniques of checking relevance data weredependability and conformability. Research result show that Laesan art having aesthetic expressionin: a) in the beginning, core, and the end of the show, b) supporting substance of the show consist ofperformance equipments; dance movement; offbeat; make up and clothing; and stages. Symbol thatshape meaning in the process of symbolic interaction consists of incense, offerings, accompaniedsing, and meaning of trance in Laesan. Suggested that Laesan art need to be repackaged in order tomake it better and have a high sale price, it is need to be conserved and inherited to the nextgeneration to avoid extinction.Kata Kunci : laesan, laes, ekspresi estetis, makna simbolis, trance

Abstract

The aim of this research are to explain implementation of KTSP in music learning in SMACitischool Semarang consists of planning, implementation of learning, and learning evaluation. Thisresearch uses qualitative-descriptive approach. Techniques of data collection aree literature studies,interview, observation, and documentation. In analyzing data, the researcher use descriptive andinteractive analysis from Milles, which consists of data collection, data reduction, data presentation,and conclusion. Research result shows that music learning in SMA Citischool Semarang 2008/2009are appropriate with KTSP : (a) learning plan have been conducted by teachers by making: developsyllabus and evaluation, annual program, semester program, and plan of learning, (b) learningprocess is appropriate with KTSP (competence standard) consists of appreciation and creation, butthe quality of learning is needed to be increased, and (c) evaluation is still influenced by curriculumevaluation before that consist of three aspects: cognitive, psychomotor, and affective aspects.Suggestion in this research: quality of teachers’ administration should be increased, optimizelearning process, and learning evaluation should be appropriate with appreciation and creationaspects in activities.

Abstract

Dance is taught to children early, so children will have basic ability consists of appreciation,perception, knowledge, and understanding. Based on the importance of dance for children,researcher is attracted to study the processes of dance learning in TK Negeri PembinaPlantungan regency of Kendal. Research in this TK Negeri Pembina Plantungan regency ofKendal viewed correct because they give dance learning especially with a good planning andprogram. Data collection techniques are observation, interview, and documentation. Analyzingdata is done by using descriptive-qualitative analysis. Techniques of checking relevance datause cross-recheck validity. Abstract

The problems in this research are teachers’ preparation before dancing lesson concerned with(aims, materials, methods) dancing, patterns of using natural potentials in surrounding, andresult of dancing learning with thematic context building on curriculum competition based.This research uses qualitative approach with preparation processes in dance learning, whichconsisted of aim determination, materials and methods, patterns of using natural potentials insurrounding, and result of dancing studies with thematic context building on curriculumcompetition based in TK Negeri Pembina Singorojo Regency of Kendal. Data collectiontechniques are observation, interview, and documentation. Analyzing data done by usinginteractive analysis. The result shows that art education in TK Negeri Pembina SingorojoRegency was in the good track. Stages to get those results were done by choosing the bestmethod such as speech, drill, imam, ngedhe and garingan. They are also determinedmaterials, appropriate with the theme that would be taught, and determined learning aim as anindicator of succeed students’ learning building on curriculum competition based. Usingnatural potentials in surrounding could add students’ knowledge of worldwide, so that it couldmotivate students and growed their confidence as a provision to get dance learning thematiccontext.Kata kunci: pendidikan seni tari, berkonteks tematik, kompetensi.

Abstract

The research problems are about Nyadran ceremonial processes, functions of Janggrung in thatceremony, and special musics in Janggrung offbeat. Results and discussions: (1) Nyadranceremony can be concluded in ritual ceremony since day, time, place, head, and congregationchosen by Janggrung performance. (2) In Nyadran ceremony, Janggrung functioned as anemotional expression, an entertainment, means of communication, a symbolic representation, aphysical response, a legalization of social and ritual religion organization, to keep continuity ofculture, and as a prop of social integration. Moreover, Janggrung also functioned as extrication ofone’s vow. Janggrung dancers (tledhek) who functioned in nyadran ceremony have severalprohibition that cannot be broken, that is one of those dancers must be a virgin. (3) There are fivespecial music to accompany Janggrung those are Lung Gandhung, Sekar Gandhung, KinanthiSandhung (called Kinanti Boyong by door-keeper), Cangklek and Kebogiro Gangsaran. The Beatthat accompanies Janggrung is Javanese barreled orchestra Slendro without using garap ngajenginstrument. Abstract

The interesting study is about appropriateness among content in textbook art material in SMPas source in KTSP curriculum, with teachers, students, and school condition. This researchuses qualitative approach. Data collection techniques are observation, interview, anddocumentation. Analyzing data done by using descriptive-qualitative analysis. Techniques ofchecking relevance data use cross-recheck validity. Based on the research result, writtentextbook, which distributed in schools have fulfilled material scope appropriate withcompetence expected in the curriculum, but the utilization was not in maximum. There arefew textbooks that using utilization guidance organized by “Yudhistira” publisher but theexplanation of content is less systematically. “Erlangga” publisher have explained materialsystematically but it is not enough to simulate students’ thought, however “Tiga Serangkai”publisher have presented music material completely but it is presented not interestingly. Eachpublisher has their own superiority but they also have drawback. Therefore, teachers canexploit the superiority of each publisher but cover their drawbacks with the other books.Kata Kunci : analisis, buku teks , seni budaya, KTSP
