Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui bagaimana kelayakan dan keefektifan media science comic berbasis PBL pada tema bunyi dan pendengaran. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan R and D (Research and Development). Hasil penilaian pakar terhadap science comic berbasis PBL memperoleh kriteria sangat layak dengan persentase penilaian pakar media sebesar 95,83%, pakar materi sebesar 95,37%, dan pakar bahasa sebesar 99,07%. Hasil belajar siswa meningkat dengan kategori sedang dengan nilai N-gain sebesar 0,62. Selain itu, kemampuan berpikir siswa juga mengalami peningkatan yang signifikan berdasarkan perhitungan t test dengan nilai thitung> ttabel (22,4>1,68). This research gives countenance to curriculum 2013 with development science comic based PBL on sound and hearing. This research type is R and D (Research and Development). The validation result shows that science comic has very feasible as a learning media by score percentage from medium expert at 95.83%, material expert at 95.37%, and language expert at 99.07Student’s learning outcome increases in average category which showed from N-gain score at 0.62. In addition, student’s critical thinking skill increases significanly by score of tscore > ttabel (22.4>1.68).

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran dan pengetahuan awal terhadap kemampuan memecahkan masalah Fisika pada kelompok peserta didik yang diajar dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran learning cycle 5E dan problem posin. Penelitian ini merupakan true experiment. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan kemampuan memecahkan masalah pada kelompok peserta didik yang diajar dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran learning cycle 5E dan problem posing. Simpulan yang dapat diambil yaitu terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran dan pengetahuan awal terhadap kemampuan memecahkan masalah Fisika pada kelompok peserta didik yang diajar dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran learning cycle 5E dan problem posin. Research purposes to determine the effect of early models of learning and knowledge of the physics problem-solving skills in a group of students who were taught using the 5E model of teaching and learning cycle posin problem. This method is true experiment. The results indicate there are differences in the ability to solve problems in a group of students who were taught using the 5E learning cycle model of learning and problem posing. Conclusion can be drawn that there is a model of the influence of prior knowledge on learning and problem-solving skills in physics in the group of students who were taught using the 5E model of teaching and learning cycle posin problem.

Abstract

This study focuses on the improvement of prospective teachers’ science generic skills in learning for earth and space sciences subject using a laboratory-based model.  Research methods were Research and Development used mixed methods design, i.e. Embedded Experimental models. The results showed that the structure of the learning using laboratory-based model consists of four stages, namely engagement, exploration, explanation, and elaboration; with details on description of natural phenomena, the identification of questions, linking concepts with practical topic; modeling, training, exploration, interpretation of data, conclude, and communicate the procedures and results of the investigation. Moreover, the ability of science generic skills of teacher candidates was low at 52.50%. In addition, the profile of lecturer performance in learning reached 55%. Also, the condition of the learning environment is generally sufficient in supporting the development of laboratory activities, for example: a comfortable laboratory room for conducting the practicum. Next, 75% student agreed that for understand the material; it needs a practice in lab. As many as 70% of students agreed that practicum will increase students' understanding, although students also agreed that clarification is still required by lecturers (80%). Furthermore, 69% of the students found the materials of Earth and Space Sciences ismore attractive than other materials, although 78% said material of Earth and Space Sciences is fairly complicated and abstract. The interest of students to the material of Earth and Space Sciences is because these materials can foster curiosity (88%) as well as providing benefits to their daily life (90%). Finally, three out of four students agreed that the science generic skills can develop the ability of scientific work and critical thinking.

Abstract

Penelusuran menggunakan angket menunjukkan bahwa tidak semua konsep yang yang tercakup dalam kisi-kisi pengembangan soal disampaikan oleh guru di kelas. Terdapat konsep yang tidak didapatkan siswa dari guru tetapi didapatkan dari hasil penalaran siswa terhadap informasi yang ada pada soal dan teman yaitu memperkirakan jenis dan jumlah makanan yang harus dimakan setiap hari berdasarkan piramida makanan serta mengidentifikasi jenis dan kandungan zat makanan berdasarkan label pada kemasan makanan.   Search using the questionnaire showed that not all concepts covered in the lattice about the development delivered by teachers in the classroom. There is a concept that does not get students from the teacher but the students come from the reasoning of the existing information on the matter and your friends are estimating the type and amount of food should be eaten every day by the food pyramid and identify the type and content of nutrients on the labels on food packaging.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui desain media Model Mata Manusia yang efektif digunakan untuk menjelaskan sifat optik mata, serta untuk mengetahui apakah pembelajaran dengan menggunakan media Model Mata Manusia mampu meningkatkan prestasi belajar siswa. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan antara post test kelas kontrol dengan post test kelas eksperimen. Persentase kenaikan prestasi belajar siswa pada kelas kontrol dengan pembelajaran  mengggunakan kit optik mengalami kenaikan sebesar 25,24 %. Kelas eksperimen dengan pembelajaran berbasis laboratorium menggunakan media Model Mata Manusia mengalami kenaikan prestasi belajar sebesar 28,16 %. The purpose of this study was to determine the design of such media an effective Human Eye Model is used to describe the optical properties of the eye, and to investigate whether the learning by using Human Eye Model media can improve the learning achievement of students. The results show a signifificant differences between post test in control class and post test in experiment class. Increase percentage of  students learning achievement in the control class with optical kit is 25.24%. Increase percentage of  students learning achievement in the experiment class with laboratory-based learning by using Human Eye Model media 28.16%.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to implement Baluran National Park-based Serious Game to enhance the students' creative thinking skill and motivation to learn. The subject of the study were 60 students of SMP Negeri 1 Asembagus, Situbondo regency. The sample was divided into three groups. Two groups were chosen as experimental classes and the other group as the control class. Both of the experimental groups were given treatment using serious game based on Baluran National Park. The instruments used were observation sheet, pre-test, and post-test. Baluran National Parks-based serious game was effective in improving the students' creative thinking skill and motivation to learn science subjects.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatan kemampuan dalam menyimpulkan hasil praktikum IPA melalui penggunaan media kartu pada siswa kelas VIII F SMP Negeri 1 Tahunan. Penelitian tindakan kelas ini telah dilakukan pada semester genap 2011. Jangka waktu penelitian 3 bulan dari Januari sampai dengan Maret 2011. Sebagai subjek siswa kelas VIII F sejumlah 34 siswa. Penelitian telah dilaksanakan dalam 2 siklus dan masing-masing siklus terdiri dari 4 tahapan yaitu; perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Berdasarkan penilai-         an kemampuan hasil praktikum pada siklus kedua menunjukkan bahwa indikator keberhasilan penelitian tindakan kelas tercapai karena telah mendapatkan nilai ≥ 75. Selain itu, berdasarkan temuan observer, jumlah siswa yang terlibat aktif dalam kegiatan praktikum mencapai 100%. Media kartu yang digunakan selama praktikum sangat menarik, sehingga memunculkan ide kreatif siswa dan membantu siswa menguasai keterampilan me-lakukan kegiatan praktikum. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang telah diperoleh maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa kemampuan siswa dalam menyimpulkan hasil praktikum dapat ditingkatkan dengan menggunakan media kartu.This aims of this study increase students capabilities in the concluding results through using science practical by media card SMP Negeri 1 Tahunan. This classroom based action research has been conducted from January to March 2011. The subject 34 students of grade VIII F. The study was designed in 2 cycles and each cycle consists of four stages, namely: planning, execution, observation, and reflection. The assessment of the ability to conclude the results of lab work on the second cycle studies showed that the indicators of success achieved class action because it has a value of ≥ 75. In addition, based on the findings of the observer, the number of students who are actively involved in practical activities reached 100%. Media card that is used is very attractive, giving rise to creative ideas of students and help students master the skills lab activities. The research results have been obtained it can be concluded that the ability to infer the results of lab work can be improved by using media card.

Abstract

A study of outdoor learning based on the instructions on environmental education for prospective of the elementary school teachers was carried out to encouragethem to improve their view on the environmental literacy in taking care of school environment. The research method used is based on the research and development method. From the research, we can found that: (1) the improvement of concept mastery in the environmental education was better than the regular class, (2) the performance and attitude of the prospective teachersof the elementary school was in a good category (3) reviews their ability in implementing outdoor based instruction was in a good category (4) reviews their attitude in taking care of the school environment was in a very good category.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar IPA melalui pembelajaran model examples non examples dengan berbantuan powerpoint. Model pembelajaran examples non examples adalah suatu model pembelajaran yang menggunakan gambar yang sesuai dengan kompetensi dasar. Hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa terdapat kenaikan rata-rata nilai dan prosentase ketuntasan belajar. Pada siklus 3 siswa yang tuntas 80,4 %, sesuai dengan ketercapaian indikator keberhasilan yang ditetapkan. Berdasarkan hasil yang telah dicapai maka dapat disimpulkan pembelajaran dengan menggunakan model examples non examples dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar IPA. The objective of the research is to increase the result of learning Science through learning model of ‘examples non examples’ with power point. learning model of ‘examples non examples’ is a learning model which uses pictures related to basic competence. The result of the research obtains the increase score and the percentage of learning exhaustiveness. On the third cycle, the student learning exhaustiveness obtains 80,4 %. It refers to the success indicator established. The conclusion is that through learning model of ‘examples non examples’ can increase the result of Science learning.

Abstract

One of the life skills exceedingly be required in the globalization era is critical thinking skills; therefore, every level of education has a role in enhancing critical thinking skills of students, especially biology students’. This research aimed to determine the efforts to enhance the critical thinking skills of students’ in biology subject through a Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL). This research used a quasi-experimental method with a total sample of 62 X grade students at SMA Negeri 4 Sintang. The data of critical thinking skills were obtained from pre- and post-test results with essay test instruments. The data were analyzed descriptively employing an inferential statistic with T-test. The inferential statistical analysis revealed that there was a difference in the critical thinking skills between the CTL learning and the expository learning (t = 5.98>1.83). The posttest average score of students’ critical thinking skills in the CTL learning was 82.56 and categorized as very good. The post-test average score in the expository learning was 68.37 and categorized as fair. The average score of critical thinking skills in the CTL learning increased by 36.06 while the average score of critical thinking skill in the expository learning increased by 19.42. The results of this research concluded that CTL learning was better to enhance the critical thinking skills of students’ in biology subject on the learning material of environmental pollution.
