Abstract

The problems of this research are classical learning without relevant media and the students with weak of numeral concept understanding and calculation. This research is Class Action Research (CAR), consist of two cycles with 23 students as the research subject. The action on the first cycle is using dice with simple circle symbolic. The action on the second cycle is using dice with colored circle symbolic. The results of this research are 1) the using of dice as the media make the learning interesting, concrete and effective, 2) the renewal of dice with colored circle symbolic abridge the students to calculate on story questions, 3) the using of dice as the media increase the students’ calculation.

Abstract

This research addresses the low interest and creativity of students in learning choreography. Students’ pre-test results shows that only 8 students out of 37 students managed to pass the minimum standard criteria. The purpose of this study is to determine and analyze the improvement in terms of interest and creativity by using Peer Tutors method. It is a method of learning together with the concept that there is a small group of mentors as the group guide. Peer tutoring method is a method of learning together with the concept of putting students in small groups. Students who areconsidered as faster learners in one group were appointed to become peer tutors for their peers. The activity triggers students’ interest and creativity either individually or in groups. This study uses the approach of classroom action research. The study was planned for two cycle. Each cycle consists of planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The research results shows that on the pre cycle there were only 8 out of 37 students (21,62 %) managed to pass the minimum score criteria of >75. On the first cycle there were 13 out of 37 students (35,13%) managed to pass the interest evaluation and 16 out of 37 students (43,24% ) passed the creativity evaluation. Finally, on the first cycle there were 18 out of 37 students (48,64%) managed to passthe interest evaluation and 31 out of 37 students (83,78%) passed the creativity evaluation. The improvement from the first cycle to the second cycle is 13, 51% for interest and 27.02 % for creativity.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of goal setting methods on learning outcomes of students of PTM in a kinematics and dynamics course. The subjects were PTM students even semester of 2011/2012, Engineering Faculty UNNES. This research is motivated by the lack of student learning outcomes in the earlier half of the semester-indicated because of lack of motivation in learning. This study used an experimental method. The population was 45 students in one class, divided into 2 groups, control class and experiment. Each subject in the study period of 7 lessons given the task to make a goal at the end of the course as well as a weekly goal. Series of goals made by the subject is placed on the the wall to give positive affirmations. At presence measurement, goal setting gives a significant number to the difference in the number of student attendance. Data for quiz grades showed that the effect of this method was not significant. This study shows that the goal setting can be applied to increase student motivation. It would be better if supported by increasing self-awareness through the control of behavior.

Abstract

The need for this study stems from the accumulation of non-tuntasan learn physics due to the integration of assessment with learning in school. The formulation of the problem is how to develop an online assessment system for the diagnosis of cognitive junior physics using computerized adaptive testing (CAT) in order to facilitate the realization of assessment for learning in school? While the goal is to design and build a prototype system question bank and online cognitive diagnostic assessment using CAT for junior high school Physics. Development is done using the system development life cycle (SDLC) and a checklist to identify the data on compliance with specifications question bank, a prototype system assessment, cognitive diagnosis report, and revised prototype. Exploratory descriptive approach shows that with open source technologies potentially resulting product can be run on the network to the Internet or local computer networks in schools. Physics problem decomposed into components of problemsolving as measured by two 2-tier multiple choice items. Problems (testlet) packaged in modules that are presented to the user is adaptive to the user’s level of cognitive ability. Cognitive profile of qualitative and quantitative diagnosis of the resulting constructive learning process for improvement. Prototype results of this study can be accessed at: http://aku-bisa.com.
