Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya hasil belajar IPS siswa kelas IV SD negeri 002 Langgini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar IPS dengan menggunakan model Inquiri. Jenis penelian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas dengan persentase ketuntasan hasil belajar siswa pada siklus I dengan kategori cukup (67,5%) dan pada siklus II dengan kategori baik (90%). Hasil belajar siswa juga mengalami peningkatan yaitu pada siklus I, siswa yang tuntas 45% sedangkan siklus II, semua siswa tuntas (100%). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran inkuiri dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar IPS siswa kelas IV SDN 002 Langgini

Abstract

This study is aimed to investigate the implementation of mind mapping strategy to teach writing in IELTS preparation class. It was a descriptive qualitative study on 20 students of IELTS preparation classes. Those students were divided into 6 classes based on their level after taking IELTS placement test. There were 3 teachers who taught 2 classes each. The data were collected by using classroom observations, students’ questionnaire, teachers’ interview, and document analysis. The present study revealed four results. First, mind mapping strategy was implemented by grouping the visual data to find out main trends, large increase or decrease, consistent direction and the relationship between modes and percentages in task 1; whereas in task 2, it was implemented by building students’ critical thinking to list main ideas which later on give supporting details for each main idea. Second, the students enjoyed teaching learning process through mind mapping strategy which resulted in passing guarantee program of having score improvement minimum 1 point, improved their analysis of data, enlarged their knowledge in academic writing topic, built their critical thinking and managed time well. Third, the problems during the implementation of those two strategies were teachers’ schedule, students’ activities at school before joining IELTS preparation class, time management, repetition ideas and phrases, laziness and boredom, and also illegible hand writing. Fourth, the solutions were: managing teachers’ and students’ schedule well, doing the test in time as instructions, reading many articles related with IELTS writing to broaden students’ knowledge, giving free writing, and practicing more.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD dan PBL terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis dan keterampilan sosial siswa MTs Al Fithrah Surabaya dengan potensi akademik sebagai variabel moderator. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen dengan rancangan desain faktorial 2x2. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 70 siswa dengan rincian dari kelas VII-A 35 siswa dan VII-C 35 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data dan instrumen penelitian menggunakan tes potensi akademik, tes kemampuan berpikir kritis, dan lembar observasi keterampilan sosial. Analisis data dengan uji Anava dua jalur diperoleh hasil: (1) ada perbedaan kemampuan berpikir kritis antara kelompok siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD dengan model PBL dengan F hitung 4,049 dan tingkat signifikansi 0,048; (2) ada perbedaan keterampilan sosial antara kelompok siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD dengan model PBL dengan F hitung 5,886 dan tingkat signifikansi 0,018; (3) ada perbedaan kemampuan berpikir kritis antara kelompok siswa yang memiliki potensi akademik tinggi dengan yang memiliki potensi akademik rendah dengan F hitung 5,924 dan tingkat signifikansi 0,018; (4) ada perbedaan keterampilan sosial antara kelompok siswa yang memiliki potensi akademik tinggi dengan yang memiliki potensi akademik rendah dengan F hitung 10,420 dan tingkat signifikansi 0,002; (5) ada interaksi yang sangat signifikan antara model pembelajaran dan potensi akademik terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis dengan F hitung 13,422 dan tingkat signifikansi 0,000; dan (6) ada interaksi yang sangat signifikan antara model pembelajaran dan potensi akademik terhadap keterampilan sosial dengan F hitung 38,908 dan tingkat signifikansi 0,000.

Abstract

In decoding implicatures, especially conversational implicatures, interlocutors should carefully pay attention both on the literal and pragmatic meanings. This importance simultaneously affects educators to be adept at implicating a message conversationally, also at transferring it to their students. The duty gets more challenging for the ones teaching a foregin language. This study then is conducted to investigate the conversational implicatures among English instructors from Indonesia who interact using English as their foreign language. Besides, this study also endeavours to trace what maxims are flouted, and to describe the gender-based difference of implicating a message conversationally. Twelve male and twelve female English instructors were invited to voluntarily participate in informal interactions approximately for fifteen minutes without their notice on the focus of this study, revealing 140 implicatures. These are wide-ranging in terms of contents based on the topics they choose, and are similar in terms of the intended messages which are not the same as the ones have said. Moreover, the exploitations also occurr on all four maxims variously: quality, quantity, manner, and relevance. The last, female instructors are observed to implicate more frequently than male ones with the comparison between 88 and 52.

Abstract

Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini adalah rendahnya hasil belajar siswa kelas V SD negeri 009 Langgini pada mata pelajaran IPS dengan materi peninggalan sejarah. Hasil observasi awal menunjukan bahwa 36% (13 orang siswa) yang mencapai KKM 70. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar IPS dengan menggunakan model Word Square. Jenis penelian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas dengan persentase ketuntasan hasil belajar siswa pada siklus I dengan rata-rata sebesar 69.72 dan siswa yang tuntas hanyak 20 orang siswa dengan persentase sebesar 56%, kemudian pada siklus II rata-rata sebesar 73.06 dan siswa yang tuntas hanyak 25 orang siswa dengan persentase sebesar 69%. Pada siklus III rata-rata sebesar 74.44 dan siswa yang tuntas hanyak 27 orang siswa dengan persentase sebesar 75%.

Abstract

Program Sport Student Exchange (SSE) dilaksanakan selama kurun waktu tiga bulan baik mengikuti sit-in di perkuliahan reguler ataupun kelas mandiri. Dalam kesempatan ini, mahasiswa Fakultas Ilmu Keolahragaan (FIK) sebagai host-university akan mendapatkan pembelajaran dan pengalaman baik dari interaksi formal ataupun nonformal yang berbeda dari perkuliahan reguler. Penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif ini berupaya mengevaluasi apakah program SSE memiliki dampak pada prestasi akademik mahasiswa FIK, yang diukur dengan indeks prestasi nilai rata-rata (IPK). Kelas bilingual jurusan PJKR dengan 29 mahasiswa yang terlibat langsung dalam kegiatan SSE merupakan sampel penelitian. Data diperoleh melalui metode observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi lalu di deskripsikan melalui capaian persentase serta uji analisis menggunakan korelasi product moment. R hitung yang diperoleh 0,999 lebih besar dari r tabel 0,367. Hasil analisis yang sangat kuat dari program SSE ini menunjukan adaanya pengaruh program SSE terhadap prestasi akademik mahasiswa FIK. Hal tersebut diperoleh dari hasil wawancara yang memiliki 15 indikator dari 3 aspek yaitu partisipasi dalam proses pembelajaran, kemampuan bahasa Inggris, dan motivasi belajar. Sehingga, penelitian bisa menjadikan dasar yang kuat bahwasannya program SSE perlu dilanjutkan dan memperbaiki manajemen yang dirasa kurang. Sport Student Exchange (SSE) program was held three months having sit-in and their-own classes. In this occasion, students of Sport Science Faculty as host-university learnt and got great experience from both informal and formal interactions which are difference from regular class. The aim of this study is to evaluate how SSE program affects students’ performance of Sport Science Faculty by measuring the average of students’ GPA. Bilingual class’ students from Physical Education Department who get involved in SSE program were the sample in this study. Data collection was done by observation, interview, and documentation. The description of the result was presented in the percentage and analyzed by Product Moment Design. Calculation of r formulation is 0,999 which is higher than r table 0,367. Thus, result of this study showed that SSE program affected students’ academic performance in Sport Science Faculty. Those also supported by the result of interviewed which was designed from three main aspects such students’ participation in learning process, English competence, and learning motivation. It is clear that SSE program should be extended for the following years and rearranges the managerial system to get better.

Abstract

This paper describes the result of philosophical inquiry about the existence and development of inquiry-reflective paradigm of the Social Studies in the scholar community thoughts, and the curriculum development within the schools level. Analysis focused on the social studies competences to be achieved (objectives); approaches need to be done (methods); learning contents need to be given (content). The analysis shows that the development paradigm-reflective inquiry at the social studies community is still the academic discourse, and not been yet a shared commitment. In fact, there are strong indications of the paradigm in Indonesia have stagnant’. The Social Studies curriculum also not consistently provides space for the development of inquiry-reflective thinking skills in a whole.

Abstract

This Classroom Action Research ( CAR ) focused on how to develop students’ skill in Reading through visualizing the text of recount in the frame of Task Based Learning. The subject of the research was students of Grade X Aph 1 of SMK N 6 Semarang. The goal of the CAR is to identify the students’ skill in Reading and after having it then to develop them using the method Visualizing of recount text in the frame work of Task Based Learning (TBL). TBL is one type of the Student Centered Learning . The activities which were done in TBL were classified into the real task with their categories. Prabu ( 1987 ) suggested that there are 3 main categories from a task (1) information-gap, (2) reasoning-gap, and (3) opinion-gap. Whereas Willis ( 1996, pp. 135-136) informed that TBL consisted of the pre-task, the task cycle, and the language focus  then the writer did a range of activities as a manifestation of  TBL. As the component are goal and objectives, input, activities, teacher role, learner role, and setting. The CAR was done in two cycles where each cycle was in 2x2x45 minutes. It was for students of Grade X Aph1 .The result showed that the Reading skill increased from 15 % to 25 %. It was not satisfying result. In the second cycle, It developed to be 65 %. There was a little effort showed by the students with personal problem or family problem but at least the competence of the students increase from 15 % to 65 %. The rest of 35 % students consist of 25 % in big problem and 10 % students need some remedial assignment. After all activities done, the final skill in Reading was that there were 85 % students were skillful in Reading.

Abstract

Pembelajaran biologi SMA N 1 Magelang masih berpusat pada guru, hal ini sesuai dengan jawaban angket siswa yaitu 100% siswa mengatakan pembelajaran mengunakan metode ceramah. Pembelajaran belum menekankan pada proses  pemecahan masalah, siswa banyak belajar hafalan dan kesulitan dalam membangun sendiri pengetahuan yang diperoleh, sehingga hal ini dimungkinkan berpengaruh terhadap rendahnya hasil belajar. Sekolah memiliki lahan yang sempit sehingga tidak mendukung digunakan sebagai sumber belajar materi Ekosistem. Pembelajaran model TTW materi ekosistem diterapkan pada penelitian ini untuk mengatasi hal tersebut diatas. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui pengaruh pembelajaran model Think Talk Write materi ekosistem terhadap hasil belajar siswa SMA N 1 Magelang. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMA N 1 Magelang, kelas X semester genap tahun 2015/2016, dengan pola Posttest-Only Control Design. Populasi penelitian seluruh siswa kelas X MIA SMA N 1 Magelang  yang terdiri dari 6 kelas. Sampel terdiri dari kelas  X MIA 5 (kelas eksperimen) dan X MIA 1 (kelas kontrol), yang ditentukan secara purposive sampling. Data penelitian meliputi nilai posttest siswa, ketuntasan klasikal, aktivitas belajar siswa, tanggapan siswa, dan guru terhadap pembelajaran model TTW materi Ekosistem yang diterapkan. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa nilai posttest siswa kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol (uji t). Ketuntasan klasikal siswa kelas eksperimen mencapai 100% (28 siswa). Sebagian besar aktivitas siswa kelas eksperimen dalam kategori tinggi 71% (20 siswa). Siswa dan guru memberikan tanggapan baik terhadap pembelajaran Model TTW yang diterapkan. Disimpulkan bahwa desain pembelajaran model TTW yang diterapkan berpengaruh positif terhadap hasil belajar siswa kelas X SMA N 1 MagelangSMA N 1 Magelang learning process centered on the teacher which is in line with the students' answers to questionnaires that 100% of students said learning method, Learning has not emphasized the problem-solving process, many students rote learning and the difficulties in building their own knowledge acquired, so it is possible to affect the poor learning outcomes. The purpose of this study was to determine the learning outcomes of students in the learning material is applied using a model ecosystem Think Talk Write. This research was conducted in SMA N 1 Magelang, X class the second semester of 2015/2016, the True Experimental Design with patterns Posttest-Only Control Design. The study population all over MIA class X SMA N 1 Magelang which consists of 6 classes. The sample consisted of class X MIA 5 (experimental group) and X MIA 1 (control class), which is determined by purposive sampling. The research data covers grades posttest student, classical completeness, student learning activities students' responses to the TTW models, and teacher responses to the learning material TTW Ecosystem models are applied. Analysis of the data showed that the value posttest experimental class students is higher than the control group (t test), while the classical completeness experimental class students reaching 100% (28 students). Most of the activity of the experimental class students in the high category 71% (20 students). Students and teachers give good feedback to the learning model applied TTW. Overall the data we can conclude that the instructional design models applied TTW positive effect on learning outcomes of students of class X SMA N 1 Magelang.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah ingin mengetahui perwujudan bentuk gaya dan makna simbolik karya mahasiswa, faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi proses penciptaan karya mahasiswa, dan pola hubungan lingkungan akademik,  sosial,  dan kultural  dalam kaitan proses penciptaan yang dilakukan oleh mahasiswa seni rupa  FBS Unnes dalam rangka pencarian jati diri estetik dengan kondisi  adanya wacana identitas yang paradoks antara universalisme dan pluralisme. Pendekatan penelitian yang akan digunakan adalah  deskriptif kualitatif dengan lebih mengutamakan eksplanasi pada temuan emprik sehingga dihasilkan kesimpulan yang valid. Teknik pengumpulan data yang melalui teknik observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan pendokumentasian. Teknis analisis data dilakukan secara induktif dengan model siklus interaktif melalui proses reduksi, penyajian, verifikasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa  karya mahasiswa lebih bersubject matter persoalan keseharian, subjek representatif, simbolik dengan pertimbangan  formalistik,  Pluralisme atau posmodern  hanya dimaknai dengan lokalitas bukan mempertanyakan lokalitas itu sendiri sehingga akhirnya  terjebak kepada  pengungkapan atau merayakan gaya modern. Faktor-faktor apa yang mempengaruhi mahasiswa seni rupa FBS Unnes dalam menemukan identitas jati diri estetik dalam situasi berkembangnya identitas yang paradoks antara  universalisme dan pluralisme pada konteks peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran seni lukis meliputi faktor internal dan eksternal. Internal mahasiswa  meliputi keterbatasan pengetahuan, keterbatasan teknik yang dimiliki, berkaya beracuan hanya pada katalog, tingkat  kepekaan estetik, mengejar efisiensi waktu, dan mengejar identitas estetik. Eksternal  eksternal mahasiswa meliputi akses minimnya galeri di Semarang yang secara kontinu melakukan pameran, lesunya pasar seni lukis, dan teknologi yang telah berkembang.Pola hubungan lingkungan akademik,  sosial,  dan kultural   dalam kaitan proses penciptaan yang dilakukan oleh mahasiswa seni rupa  FBS Unnes dalam rangka pencarian jati diri estetik  adalah saling mempengaruhiThe purpose of this study was to find out the embodiment form of style and symbolic meaning by students, the factors that affect the process of creating works of students, and the pattern of relationships academic environment, social, and cultural in terms of the creation process is done by art students of the Faculty Language and Art Semarang State University in the framework of the search for identity aesthetic discourse conditions the paradoxical identity between universalism and pluralism. The research approach used is a qualitative descriptive with more emphasis on finding emprik explanation so that the resulting conclusions are valid. The technique of collecting data through observation, interviews, and documentation. Technical analysis of the data conducted inductive model interactive cycle through the reduction process, presentation, verification. The results showed that students work more ber the subject matter of daily issues, the subject representative, symbolic with formalistic considerations, postmodern pluralism or locality not only meant to question the locality itself so that finally stuck to the disclosure or celebrate a modern style. What factors are affecting the art students of the Faculty of Language and Art Semarang State University in discovering the identity of an aesthetic identity in the paradoxical situation of the development of identity between universalism and pluralism in the context of improving the quality of teaching art include internal and external factors. Internal students include lack of knowledge, the limitations of the techniques that are owned, guided work only on the catalog, aesthetic sensitivity level, the pursuit of efficiency of time, and the pursuit of aesthetic identity. External students include lack of access gallery in Semarang who continuously do exhibitions, sluggish art market, and the technology has evolved. Patterns of relationships academic environment, social, and cultural in terms of the creation process is done by art students of the Faculty of Language and Arts Semarang State University in the framework of the search for identity is the aesthetic interplay.
