<![CDATA[Salah satu masalah yang sering dihadapi oleh para petani, terutama petani sayuran adalah serangan hama yang dapat menggagalkan panen. Petani pada umumnya menggunakan pestisida kimia untuk membasmi hama tersebut karena pestisida kimia banyak dijual di pasaran dan sangat efektif dalam membasmi hama. Namun, penggunaan pestisida kimia, apalagi pada jangka waktu yang lama dan terus-menerus sangat berbahaya. Alternatif penggunaan pestisida organik yang jauh lebih ramah lingkungan dan tidak beracun merupakan solusi yang lebih baik untuk menggantikan peran pestisida kimia. Tujuan spesifik kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah memberikan pengetahuan yang memadai kepada petani sayur mengenai bahaya pestisida kimia dan kelebihan pestisida organik serta untuk mengembangkan potensi bahan-bahan alam sebagai bahan baku pembuatan pestisida organik sehingga dapat meningkatkan hasil panen dan nilai ekonomi sayuran. Hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian ini menunjukkan masyarakat sangat antusias untuk menggunakan pestisida organik sebagai pengganti pestisida kimia.]]>

<![CDATA[Bandeng duri lunak atau bandeng presto merupakan salah satu produk  unggulan Kota Semarang. Para pengusaha kecil (tradisional) sebagai produsen bandeng duri lunak (bandeng prsto) selama ini masih menemui beberapa permasalahan terutama aspek produksi dan kualitas produk. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah membantu mitra produsen bandeng presto melalui penerapan teknologi pengolahan bandeng presto dengan alat yang lebih modern. Mitra kegiatan ini adalah KUB “Putri Laut†yang beralamat di Kelurahan Tambakrejo, Kec. Gayamsari, Kota Semarang. Untuk mencapai target kegiatan dilakukan dengan berbagai metode yang disesuaikan dengan tujuan kegiatan, antara lain ceramah/penyuluhan, demonstrasi, praktik langsung, serta pendampingan. Dalam kegiatan ini telah berhasil diterapkan satu unit alat pembuat bandeng presto hemat  energi dengan kapasitas produksi 50 kg sekali masak dengan lama waktu  pemasakan 90 menit. Selain meningkatkan kapasitas produksi, alat ini juga mampu meningkatkan kualitas bandeng, antara lain bandeng tidak rusak, kandungan protein lebih tinggi, dan tekstur bandeng lebih baik]]>

<![CDATA[Science and technology activities for the people (IbM) was conducted with the aim of resolving the problems faced by tofu small industries in Bandungan, Semarang regency, Central Java. There are two IbM partners, namely Mrs. Biyati and Mrs. Widari. There are two aspects of the problems to be addressed, namely the aspects of production and management. As a team implementing these activities are lectures and students with expertise in accordance with the needs of the field. In the implementation of some of the methods that are used to support, among others, with lectures for the theoretical material and motivation, demonstration to deliver material practice / skills, practice directly by the partners, and mentoring activities. In this activity has generated output production and management aspects. Outputs aspects of production: 1) soy grinding machine with a gasoline motor power source so that the sound is smooth and does not interfere with citizens, 2) equipment using steam boiler (steam boiler) so that the kitchen space free of smoke, knows not of bitter and feel better, 3 ) Stamping tools screw system making it easy to operate / lighter. Outputs management aspects: 1) bookkeeping financial / business better, and 2) further increased marketing / marketing a wider range.]]>

<![CDATA[Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk melatih guru bahasa Inggris Sekolah Dasar (SD) untuk mengembangkan materi ajar yang berbasis pendidikan karakter. Khalayak sasaran program ini adalah guru bahasa Inggris SD negeri di kecamatan Tembalang, seluruhnya berjumlah 22 orang. Pelatihan diadakan di SD Tandang 01, Semarang. Langkah-langkah yang digunakan dalam pelatihan ini terdiri dari tiga tahap, yaitu (1) identifikasi masalah, yang dilakukan sebelum program pengabdian, (2) penentuan alternatif pemecahan yaitu dengan menentukan target sasaran dan merancang tindakan, dan (3) pelaksanaan tindakan, yaitu dengan memberi pelatihan. Dalam pelatihan metoda yang digunakan adalah pemberian informasi dan model, kerja kelompok dan kerja individual. Dengan kegiatan pengabdian ini guru menjadi termotivasi untuk mengembangkan materi ajar. Mereka juga mencoba membuat contoh materi ajar.]]>

<![CDATA[Every citizen expects that RT / RW cover letter service can be obtained quickly and accurately. However, the expectation of public services such as introducing RT / RW letters sometimes can not be realized. Often the handling of RT / RW cover letters takes days. The purpose of this community service activity is to improve the quality of public service in the form of introductory letter service of RT / RW for the people in need. Specific targets of community service are: (1) establishment of public service system of RT / RW introduction letter online, and (2) implementation of public service system of RT / RW introduction letter online. Based on the results of community service activities, it is concluded that the RT RW online introduction letter application system is one of the alternative solutions for effective citizen administration services, since this system can overcome the difficulties of citizens in obtaining administrative services indefinitely dimensional space and time. The residents welcomed the existence of this RT RW online introduction letter application system, especially for residents of immigrant residents (residents of residential complex). However, for the original villagers, the existence of this system has not been so needed. The majority of the original villagers will not use this online system. Based on feedback on the ease of use of the system and the attractive appearance of this system, it is realized that the system is still a lot of shortcomings, so that future improvements are still needed.]]>

<![CDATA[In some sub-district in Semarang ubiquitous home household industry in the field of embroidery fabrics and the like, although quite large in number and spread out, but the existing potential has not been developed to the maximum. From field observations of potential home household scale industries in the field of embroidery in the area of Semarang has not been touched by technological advances design by utilizing IT (computer) and software applications to enrich the embroidery design. Based on surveys and direct interviews in several home industries in the field of embroidery are scattered in the region Semarang, that the problems faced can be grouped into three aspects, namely the facilities improvement of HR (human resources) that is knowledgeable about technology upgrading areas of the embroidery design, facilities and equipment, and management production in the field of embroidery where all three aspects are interrelated. This activity aims to answer the problems that exist, namely the training and tutorials embroidery design techniques with computer technology and its application. Improve the manufacturing facilities in the form of embroidery designs embroidery design software applications and the software application tool. Target outcomes that could result from this activity are: 1) Meyelenggarakan training and tutorials on the techniques of embroidery designs with computer technology, 2) Generate a variety of design styles of embroidery rocky computers, 3) pattern model of business management field of the embroidery professionally managed which can improve product in quality and quantity, 4) Improving synergies between universities and the business community in Semarang, 5) Resulting scientific articles in national journals in the context of publication of the results of activitie.]]>

<![CDATA[Cooking oil is one of the needs of society in order to fulfill daily needs. The economic condition of Indonesian people is very diverse, some use cooking oil for single use but some also use cooking oil for several times usage. The high unsaturated fatty acids in cooking oil, cause cooking oil will be easily damaged in the process of frying (deep frying) because in the process of frying, oil will be heated continuously at high temperatures. The use of used cooking oil or jelantah can cause adverse effects to the commu- nity  and  the  environment.  The  adverse  impacts  on  the  community  are  caused  by the decline in  the quality of  food  fried with cooking oil which results  in  disruption  of  public  health. Adverse  impact  to  the  environment  is  the  disposal  of  cooking  oil  without  first  processing  can  pollute  the  soil  and  water  environment. Utilization of used cooking oil as kerosene replacement fuel is one solution that can be tak- en when facing the bad impact of used cooking oil. In order to serve as a substitute fuel for kerosene, jelantah oil must have karaketristik that is almost the same as kerosene. One of the most important characteristics is the viscosity number. Wrinkled oil has a high viscosity, so that the use of jelantah oil must undergo certain processes to decrease its viscosity. One way to reduce viscosity is by warming at high temperatures over long periods of time. Partners   in   this   devotional   activity   are   the   vendors   of   gorengan   around the  campus  of  UNNES  FMIPA.  They  use  a  lot  of  cooking  oil  in  their  business,  maybe  even  cooking  oil  used  many  times  and  waste  of  used  cooking  oil will  be  thrown  indiscriminately  so  as  to  pollute  the  surrounding  environment. With this devotion is expected the traders gorengan around FMIPA UNNES campus can process waste used cooking oil into fuel substitute kerosene so that will reduce environmental pollution.]]>

<![CDATA[Smart parenting is intelligent parenting by parent and adults in order satisfy needs, provide protection and educate in daily life in achieving development optimal. Children’s problems are caused by mistakes or ignorance of parents going the way of communication and the delivery of the right method in children. For most parents conscious and unconscious; often treat children as a robot that can be instructed and have to run any commands that given to him. They forgot that a child is also a individuals in the smaller having, feeling, desires, and action.Training about smart parenting is addressed in the parents in the county of Kendal, especially the mothers who become the object of attaching first child. Devotion to this community will discuss about optimization cognitive development and creativity early childhood. Expectation of this training is parent to have knowledge and understanding new in apply to a child, talking about parenting especially for improvement of cognitive and creativity child. The parents expected to child care with good and right, accompanying in passing duty child development, and created a generation of gold for the future.]]>

<![CDATA[The village of Sekaran is one of the villages located close to the UNNES Campus. The cur- rent Village of Sekaran villagers are in addition to the natives, UNNES students who rent houses or boarding in the area, and some are urban, or urban, people who prefer suburban residences. Some of the land in the village of Sekaran has turned into housing and one of the closest housing of the cam- pus is Sekar Gading Housing. Residents in Housing Sekar Gading, especially the mothers belonging to Dasa Wisma are very hungry for various activities based on environmentally friendly. One of the activities they want is how to make organic fertilizer especially from household waste. Therefore, the initial plan of activities originally in the village of Banyuwindu devotees move to the village of Sek- aran, especially in Housing Sekar Gading. The main reason for moving the location because after coordination several times Banyuwindu community difficult to determine the time of activity, while the implementation time of service activities should be as soon as possible. While the choice of loca- tion in Housing Sekar Gading because of the welcome and enthusiasm of people in the housing is very good. Targets to be achieved in this activity is the increasing understanding of the community in Housing Sekar Gading in managing waste independently, the community is able to utilize local mi- croorganisms as an environmentally friendly composting material, and can reduce the dependence on the use of chemical fertilizers. The outcomes of this devotional activity are 1) articles for national seminars or journals, 2) appropriate technology (TTG) of local potential waste-based waste manage- ment. The results achieved in this activity is organic fertilizer products using local microorganisms.]]>
