Abstract

This research try to investigate the influence of Adversity Intelligence training to life meaning among teenager in orphanage. Hypotheses proposed that possible difference of life meaning could exist before and after Adversity Intelligence training among teenager in the orphanage.Subjects participated in this research are 6 (six) teenager of Panti Asuhan Muhammadiyah Putra in Yogyakarta and 14-19 years old. Experimental design employed was Pretest-Post Test Design. Data analyzed through paired sample t-test.Research found that life meaning differences exist in subjects before and after training with t: -2.216 p: 0,039. It means that Adversity Intelligence training could increase life meaning among teenager in the orphanage. Key words    :    life meaning, Adversity Intelligence training

Abstract

Prosocial behaviour emerge based on some factors like situational factor and personal factor, including gender issues. Many researchers who have concern on prosocial behavior in different gender; among others is a study of meta-analyses of college student and senior high school conducted by Eagly and Crowley (1992), showing result that man are more helping than woman consistently. This research is conducted to study further the role of gender orientation in prosocial behavior. This research entangle 200 students in University of North Sumatra which consists of 100 man and 100 woman selected by using technique of incidental sampling. Scale of prosocial tendency relying on the forms of prosocial behavior by Amato (1990) and scale of role of gender orientation pursuant to Bem’s theory (1974) is used to measure the prosocial behavior. Reliability of prosocial tendency scale is equal to 0,962 and role of gender orientation scale is equal to 0,865. Data analyse by one-way ANOVA.Result of data analysis shows that there is difference role of gender orientation among groups of masculine, femininee, androgyny and unclassified in prosocial tendency; with F value = 3,279, probability of p = 0,022. And peculiarly visible difference is between group of androgyny and unclassified group, posed at with probability value equal to 0,018. Result of t-test indicate that there is difference in prosocial tendency between the subject group of man and woman, with F value = 1,888, probability of p equal to 0,014.Keywords: prosocial behavior, role of gender orientation, masculine, feminine, androgyny

Abstract

Reason for this meta analysis study is the variance of relation between social support and Post Traumatic Syndrome Disorder (PTSD). Six (6) articles show that social support correlates negatively with PTSD. Especially affection, instrumental and activity support. Abstract

This research aimed at finding Human Resources Management pattern in Indonesian business organization, like BUMN. Focus of the research were finding correlation pattern between commitment orientation with trust for management and transformational leadership. This research also assesed about carrier-oriented commitment, team-oriented commitment, and organizational-oriented commitment.  Data were collected from 208 employees at BUMN in East Java.  One of the reasons, organization climate was conducive for change. Furthermore, three scales used in this research: Orientation Commitment Scale, Trust for Management Scale, Transformational Leadership Scale. Data analysis is regression analysis.    The results of the research are: a) Transformational Leadership and trust for management correlate with Commitment Orientation, b) Carrier-Oriented Commitment was influenced by trust for management, c) Transformational Leadership and trust for management correlate with Team-Oriented Commitment, when, d) Organizational-Oriented Commitment was influenced by Transformational Leadership.Key Words: Commitment Orientation, Transformational Leadership.

Abstract

This article was written based on literatures on violence towards women, particularly domestic violence. The author offers range of efforts which should be made in the attempt to minimize gender violence. Many activities have been developed by non government organizations (non profits) such as through their centers to assist women in crisis. Besides, the acts for anti violence towards women hal also been ratified. However, the solution at the policy level has not been able to reduse the number of domestic violence. Many domestic violence cases remain unexplored as a result of the still existing taboo that domestic problems should not be exposed for public. Beside this value, there is a cultural basis that explains why preventing domestic violence remain difficult. Domestic violence, when explored further, has its cultural root, in the way men place himself as the “person in control” of his spouse (wife/woman). The attempt to prevent the widespread of domestic violence need to consider this cultural root, in order to achieve its goals more affectively. Programs for domestic violence prevention needs to aim at changing gender inequity ideology more seriously.Women rights issue need to be listed in the gender education programs within communities, commonly socialized through campaigns and trainings in gender issues.Key Words : Gender violence, domestic violence, cultural basis, prevention.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan studi meta analisis tentang pengaruh film kekekrasan terhadap agresivitas. Data penelitian terdiri dari 20 penelitian. Ada 9 penelitian memiliki variabel dependen dan variabel independen yang sama, sedangkan 11 penelitian yang lain adalah penelitian tentang agresivitas dan hubungannya dengan variabel independen yang lain. Analisis data berdasarkan 9 penelitian tersebut.Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa korelasi aktual (populasi) antara variabel film kekerasan dan agresivitas selalu positif, artinya makin intens film kekerasan maka makin meningkat pula agresivitas. Data penelitian ini heterogen, sehingga pada data ini terdapat primary second order sampling error. Keadaan demikian memprediksikan adanya variabel moderator potensial, oleh karena itu perlu diteliti melalui prediksi teoritis misalnya : jenis kelamin, usia dan tingkat pendidikan atau melalui unsuspected moderator yang dideteksi melalui varians residual.Kata Kunci : Film Kekerasan, agresifitas, meta analisis

Abstract

Tulisan ini bermaksud membahas masalah pemberdayaan keluarga dalam membentuk manusia berkualitas dalam masyarakat, khususnya dalam prevensi terjadinya krisis keluarga serta peran psikologi komunitasterhadap masalah tersebut. Menurut penulis, prevensi meliputi intervensi krisis. konsultasi. serta pendidikan kesehatan mental. Dalam intervensi knsis psikolog komunitas dapat bertindak secara langsung atau direktif dengan cara-cara yang etektif dan tepat sementara konsultasi dilakukan dengan berpusat pada program. Kata kunci: psikologi komunitas, prevensi, krisis keluarga.

Abstract

The purpose of this reseach was to examine the relationship between couple flexibility and level of marital satisfaction. The respondents were couples with children of their own and they have steady job. Data collected using Couple Flexibility Scale (Olson dan DeFrain, 2003) and Marital Satisfaction Scale. Couple Flexibility has 6 aspect, those were leadership, dicipline, negotiation, role and responsibility, rules and changes whereas Marital Satisfaction has 14 aspects: spouse personality, equality in roles dan tasks, communication, conflict resolution, financial arrangement, spare time activities, sexual relationship, relationship with children, relatives and friends, religious orientation, ambition, love and passion. Data analyzed using Spearman rho technique show that the fleksibility of couple related to their level of marital satisfaction. The contributions (highest to lowest) of each aspect of flexibility to marital satisfaction's level were: disipline (r=0,700), roles and responsibility (r=0,694), leadership (r=0,676), negotiation (r=0,676), changes (r=0,584) and rules (r=0,491). Moreover, the result could also predict the occurance of one aspect in each variable when other aspect in other variable known. Keyword s: couple flexibility, marital satisfacton

Abstract

This paper is a literature study on the roots of terrorism and alternative interventions that can be applied. The root of terrorism described in macro social standpoint, the system of government and politics, religion and ideology doctrination. Meanwhile, from the standpoint of the psychological explained about the special characters mediating the terrorist acts of aggressive behavior. The formation of social identity also participating whenever individual joined the terrorist organization. Intervention offered based on several literature findings. Jerrold (2005) focuses on preventing the entry of young people in a terrorist organization by the monitoring system of education, especially religious education. Rivera & Hancock (2003) mentions several psychological strategies in the fight against terrorism: the Anti-Terrorism, Counter-Terrorism, and Consequence Management. Woolf & Hulsizer (2005) offers a range of psychosocial model of primary prevention, secondary prevention and intervention.Keywords: terrorism, terrorist, intervention

Abstract

Studi meta-analisis ini dilatarbelakangi oleh hasil-hasil penelitian yang tidak searah tentang hubungan antara efikasi diri (self efficacy) dan unjuk kerja (performance) dan bahkan kadang-kadang terdapat bukti yang berlawanan. Tujuan studi ini adalah mengintegrasikan hasil-hasil penelitian tentang hubungan antara efikasi diri dengan unjuk kerja yang sangat bervariasi. Hasil Studi ini menyimpulkan bahwa terdapat hubungan antara efikasi diri dengan unjuk kerja. Hal ini ditunjukkan oleh rata-rata koefisien korelasi terbobot sebesar 0,375 yang berada pada daerah interval kepercayaan 95%, yakni -0,055 < r < 0,945.  Kata kunci    :   efikasi diri, unjuk kerja, meta analisis
