Abstract

This study aims to determine the authority of ASEAN Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights (AICHR) as the ASEAN Human Rights Agency in the non-intervention principle scheme using qualitative descriptive research methods. The increasing cases of human rights violations in Southeast Asia has become a question for the existence of AICHR, which was deliberately formed with the aim of tackling the issue of human rights violations. This research concludes that the AICHR's performance authority in handling cases of human rights violations in the region, in fact, must clash with the non-intervention principle scheme of its parent organization, ASEAN. So, in this case, to maximize the performance of AICHR ideally, it is necessary to re-construct the ASEAN Way regime by collaborating the principles of non-intervention and humanitarian intervention in accordance with the development of international norms. Abstract

This study aims to describe Indonesia's strategy in dealing with EU non-tariff barriers to Indonesia's CPO exports using the qualitative method. The EU implemented non-tariff barriers to Indonesia's CPO imports from 2009-2017. However, Indonesia has only been aggressively responding and implementing strategies in dealing with EU obstacles since 2017. This is because there has been a direct negative impact on the Indonesian economy, including a decrease in the value of CPO exports. Therefore, the researcher uses the framework of public relations campaign and new protectionism in free trade to answer Indonesia's strategy in facing EU obstacles in 2017-2019. This study then found the answer that Indonesia's strategy was carried out through a positive campaign or white campaign to EU countries and also made a counter policy, namely protecting nickel. Abstract

The unsustainable management of palm oil is seen from the massive expansion of oil palm plantations that cause various adverse impacts. One of the unsustainable management of palm oil is the management of Wilmar Company in Indonesia. One of these actions is by clearing land and clearing mangrove forests in the conservation area of Balikpapan Bay in 2013.This study uses qualitative research approach and theory of effectiveness of international regimes to analyze the unachieversed stages of sustainable management characterized by impact stages. The cause of Wilmar Company's unsuccessful success in achieving sustainable management in accordance with RSPO certification standards is due to the unfulfillment of implementation on three important components. The three components are the high level of complexity of the problem, the weak problem solving capacity and the lack of full level of collaboration in the implementation of RSPO certification on the management of Wilmar palm oil in Indonesia. Abstract

The offer of cooperation from China to build nuclear in Argentina is one of the biggest cooperation between the two countries. However, the cooperation was postponed by Argentina in 2018 due to the economic crisis. In the midst of crisis that have not yet improved, Argentina under the government of President Mauricio Macri is planning to re-sign the cooperation which has drawn various responses from the public and other countries. However, through various considerations, the Argentine government finally re-signed the agreement in 2019. In this paper, researchers use a qualitative explanative method with rational actor model and the concept of national interest to explain the policy changes made by the Argentine government. Then, this research finds that the reason Argentina re-signed nuclear cooperation with China is that the benefits refer to the fulfillment of national interests and have been calculated with the opportunity cost.
