Abstract

The research aims were to evaluate length-weight correlationship and condition factors of Catfish (Plotosus canius) in the estuary Kahayan and Katingan river, Central Kalimantan. Results showed that the Catfish has a negative allometric growth pattern. Fish length between 764.7 to 275.7 mm (443.07 ± 106.75 mm), while the weight of the fish between 102.89-1627.17 grams (497.38 ± 328.73 gram). Correlationship weight increased linearly along with increasing length of catfish. Length growth is faster than body weight with thinner body shaped. Condition factors of Catfish indicated that younger fish was less healthy and the condition gets better with the increasing of length-weight of fish measure. Key words : Catfish, correlation, length-weight, condition factors

Abstract

This study aims to assess the impact of water pollution on cage aquaculture owned by farmers in watersheds Kahayan, especially those in Village Pahandut Seberang, Palangka Raya city. The study used a survey method that was implemented in September 2014. The results showed that some water quality parameters exceed the predetermined threshold. The death of fish in cages often occurs when change of water patterns on June to September where turbidity of the water is very high, a slow stream, and ammonia poisoning the fish cultivated. Key words : Water pollution, Kahayan River, cage aquaculture.

Abstract

The research was conducted to investigate the antibody titre of native chickens against Avian influenza. The research used Hemaglutination (HA) and Hemaglutination Inhibition (HI) test methods. The result showed that Hemaglutination (HA) and Hemaglutination Inhibition (HI) test methods, could be detect Avian influenza virus in positive AI titre of native chickens.

Abstract

The aim of this research were to know the effect of dosage chicken manure and want to know the dosage of chicken manure that giving the best result to growth and production Brachiaria humidicola at the second defoliation. These experiment were conducted at the experimental farm of Animal Husbandry Faculty, Palangka Raya Christian University. This research was designed by using Completely Random Design (CRD) with single factor experiment that is dosage of chicken manure (A), that is a0 = without chicken manure (control), a1 = 20 ton ha-1, a2 = 30 ton ha-1 and a3 = 40 ton ha-1. The result showed that the applications of dosage chicken manure giving the effect to the number of chicks (10 days, 20 days, 30 days and 40 days), the high of crop in 10 days and the production of Brachiaria humidicola. The treatment of dosage chicken manure 30 ton ha-1 and 40 ton ha-1 give the same effect to the production while dosage of chiken manure 40 ton ha-1 give the highest production of Brachiaria humidicola. Key words : Chicken manure, second defoliation, production

Abstract

This study aims to determine the water content which ideal for wadi products with low salt content, so it can be stored at room temperature (28-30ºC) in a longer time. The results showed that the lower of water content, the product can be stored longer time at room temperature. The best treatment on day 30 was obtained in treatment C with 49.15% water content, 31.10% protein and organoleptic test value was 7.22 with the following criteria: clean appearance and compact; wadi distinctive aroma and taste interesting; savory flavor and preferred. Key words : Water content, wadi, Pangasius hypophthalmus, organoleptic test

Abstract

The aim of this study was to determine the effect of different culture media on population density of Tubifex worms, so that we can find a good medium for the development Tubifex worms. This study uses a model of completely randomized design (RAL) with four treatments and three replications. Media treatment A using chicken manure, treatment B using the media pulp, treatment C using lettuce rotting media and media treatment D using chicken feed. Based on the research results can be concluded that the use of chicken manure as culture media gives a significant influence on the population density of Tubifex worms (Tubifex sp.) than other media. Key words : Population density, culture media, Tubifex worms.

Abstract

The aim of this research to knew the influence of different hens age and laying position of eggs in incubator, interaction of different hen age with different laying position of eggs in the incubator on the hatchability of eggs. This research used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with factorial pattern 2x2 and five replication. The first factor that was age of hens (1.5 years ; 2.5 years) and the second that was laying position of eggs in incubator (vertical ; horizantal). The result showed that laying position of eggs in the incubator and interaction of hens age with laying position of eggs in the incubator were not significant (P>0.05) on the eggs fertility, hatchability and the weight of day old chicken (DOC). The average of eggs fertility on ninth days was 86,5% and decreased on the fourteenth was 79%. The average of eggs hatchability was 71%. Where as different of hens age was not significant on egg fertility and hatchability (P>0.05) but was significant on egg weight (P

Abstract

This study aims to determine the body resistance of tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) provided feed containing ciplukan (Physalis angulata L) leaf extract tested in low water quality. The study used an experimental method in which fish are given feed containing ciplukan leaf extract at a dose of 25 ml / kg of feed, and then tested in low pH water, to see the survival rate of the fish with a long testing time 2 hours, 4 hours, 6 hours. The results showed that the administration of feed containing leaf extract can increase their endurance ciplukan tilapia, where the highest value in the treatment of 2 hours (95.56%) and the lowest at 6-hour treatment (77.78%). Fish were fed with ciplukan leaf extract at low water quality gives a real impact on the survival rate of fish. The longer testing process led to increase mortality rate. The body resistance of fish can be maintained by adding extracts of ciplukan leaf in feed continuously to provide body resistance to low water quality or water quality changes caused by weather. Key words : Physalis angulata L, tilapia, water quality

Abstract

This research was conducted to find out the prevalence of parasites Trichodina sp that infected tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) from cages aquaculture at Village Pahandut Seberang, Palangka Raya City. A total of 60 sampled of tilapia are taken randomly from each cage and observed at Veterinary Laboratory of Palangka Raya to identified parasite Trichodina sp. Examination and identification of parasites is done natively by using a microscope. The results showed that parasite Trichodina sp found in 21 samples so that the prevalence of parasites Trichodina sp is 35%. Key words : Oreochromis niloticus, tilapia, prevalence, Trichodina sp.
