Abstract

Proper bonding between adjacent pavement layers is very important to ensure good pavement performance. Manual torque bond test is known to be one of the tests to determine mechanical properties of bond between adjacent pavement layers. However, the test has several drawbacks that may affect the accuracy of results. This paper is focused on the development a mechanically controlled automatic torque bond test in order to eradicate the drawbacks associated with the manual torque bond test. A trial test and calibration of the newlydeveloped apparatus was performed to ensure the accuracy of results. The nominal loading rate of the manual torque bond test performed at 600Nm/min was found to be lower than the target loading rate, leading to a lower measured shear strength compared to that of the automatic torque test. It was also found that the appearance of lateral shear would not significantly affect the shear strength.Keywords: bond test, torque, shear, loading rate.

Abstract

Abstract This paper describes the implementation of road safety strategy that was experienced in many developed countries, whereby the sustainable road transport issues were included. Such strategy can hardly be found in Indonesia, the country that facing with serious problem in road accidents. Road safety action plans, those carried out to mitigate road accidents in some countries, were presented. In addition the paper also suggested the actions have to be taken to make better road accidents situation in Indonesia. Keywords: road safety strategy, road accidents, action plans

Abstract

Abstract One of the regional revenues which are given the first priority in the Province of Yogyakarta Special Region is from the tourism sector. The diversity of the tourism potential and tourism development show encouraging achievements within the last 5 years. This study is the first step to see the conditions and problems associated with public transportation services for tourism. This study shows that the permanent public transportation for tourism is potential to be implemented to attract more tourists to come. In addition, this transport can also reduce congestion, reduce the potential for accidents, save travel costs, save energy, and reduce pollution. Keywords: tourism, tourism potential, tourism transport, tourist cost   Abstrak Salah satu penerimaan daerah yang mendapat prioritas utama Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta adalah penerimaan dari sektor pariwisata. Beragamnya potensi pariwisata dan perkembangan pariwisata menunjukan capaian yang menggembirakan dalam kurun waktu 5 tahun terakhir. Penelitian ini merupakan langkah awal untuk melihat kondisi dan permasalahan yang terkait dengan angkutan pariwisata. Studi ini menunjukkan bahwa angkutan khusus pariwisata secara tetap berpotensi untuk diterapkan dalam mendukung peningkatan kunjungan wisatawan. Abstract

Abstract An assessment of road surface conditions is needed to determine an appropriate road evaluation program. One of the parameters used is the International Roughness Index or IRI. Currently, technological developments encourage the use of smartphone applications as a tool to determine the value of IRI. Comparisons between IRIs obtained using tools, such as roughometers, and IRIs obtained from software applications have not been made. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between the results of the measurement of the roughometer and the results of the Android application Roadbump Pro. This research was carried out on the Sam Ratulangi Road in Palu City, with a segment length of 600 meters and analyzed per 100 meters. The results of this study indicate that smartphone applications provide good IRI measurement results, so they can be used in road stability assessments. In addition, the type of survey vehicle did not have a significant effect on IRI measurements. Keywords: smartphone, International Roughness Index, roughometer, Roadbump, road stability  Abstrak Penilaian kondisi permukaan jalan diperlukan untuk menentukan program evaluasi jalan yang tepat. Salah satu parameter yang digunakan adalah International Roughness Index atau IRI. Saat ini, perkembangan teknologi mendorong penggunaan aplikasi smartphone sebagai alat bantu untuk menentukan nilai IRI. Perbandingan antara IRI yang diperoleh dengan menggunakan alat bantu, seperti roughometer, dan IRI yang diperoleh dari aplikasi perangkat lunak belum dilakukan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis hubungan antara hasil pengukuran alat roughometer dan hasil aplikasi android Roadbump Pro. Penelitian ini dilakukan di ruas Jalan Sam Ratulangi di Kota Palu, dengan panjang segmen 600 meter dan dianalisis per 100 meter. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa aplikasi smartphone memberikan hasil pengukuran IRI yang baik, sehingga dapat digunakan dalam penilaian kemantapan jalan. Selain itu, jenis kendaraan survei tidak memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap pengukuran IRI. Kata-kata kunci: smartphone, International Roughness Index, roughometer, Roadbump, kemantapan jalan

Abstract

Abstract The intersection is a meeting place for vehicle flows from several roads and as a place for vehicles to change the direction of traffic movement. In this study an observation was made on the ARMED Intersection and the Taman Sudirman Intersection, located in Cimahi City, which have experienced traffic problems. A simulation was carried out at these intersections, using the VISSIM PTV software, and taking into account the behavior of the driver. The results of this study indicate that for micro analysis, the delay and speed criteria are more suitable for use than the degree of saturation criteria. Keywords: intersection, traffic, delay, speed, degree of saturation  Abstrak Simpang merupakan tempat bertemunya arus kendaraan dari beberapa ruas jalan dan sebagai tempat kendaraan melakukan perubahan arah pergerakan lalu lintas.Pada studi ini dilakukan pengamatan terhadap Simpang ARMED dan Simpang Taman Sudirman Kota Cimahi, yang telah mengalami masalah lalu lintas. Suatu simulasi dilakukan pada simpang-simpang tersebut, dengan perangkat lunak PTV VISSIM, dengan memper-timbangkan perilaku pengemudi. Hasil studi ini menunjukkan bahwa untuk analisis mikro, kriteria-kriteria tundaan dan kecepatan lebih sesuai untuk digunakan daripada kriteria derajat kejenuhan. Kata-kata kunci: simpang, lalu lintas, tundaan, kecepatan, derajat kejenuhan

Abstract

Abstract A road, as the most important infrastructure on land transportation, plays a huge role on the movement of passengers and freight. According to its status, road is classified into national road, province road, city road, district road, and village road. The status of a road significantly affects the process of financing, planning, construction, and maintenance of that road. Therefore, a comprehensive study is needed before the status of a road is determined or changed. This paper discusses several aspects that are needed to be considered before the status of a road is determined or changed, with a case study of Gorontalo Outer Ring Road. These aspects are centre-of-activity hierarchy, road geometry, and the traffic volume. After all those aspects were discussed, the recommended status of Gorontalo Outer Ring Road is concluded. Keywords: rroad, land transportation, road status, centre-of-activity  Abstrak Jalan sebagai prasarana utama transportasi darat memegang peranan penting terhadap pergerakan barang maupun pergerakan orang. Menurut statusnya, jalan dikelompokkan menjadi jalan nasional, jalan provinsi, jalan kota, jalan kabupaten, dan jalan desa. Penetapan status suatu jalan berdampak besar pada kegiatan pembiayaan, perencanaan, pembangunan, dan pemeliharaan jalan tersebut. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan kajian yang mendalam sebelum suatu jalan ditetapkan atau diubah statusnya. Pada studi ini dikaji aspek-aspek yang perlu diperhatikan ketika suatu ruas jalan akan ditetapkan atau diubah statusnya, dengan studi kasus Jalan Lingkar Luar Gorontalo. Aspek-aspek yang dibahas pada penelitian ini adalah aspek hierarki pusat kegiatan, aspek geometri jalan, dan aspek lalu lintas. Setelah semua aspek tersebut dibahas, dapat disimpulkan status jalan yang sesuai untuk Jalan Lingkar Luar Gorontalo. Kata-kata kunci: jalan, transportasi darat, status jalan, pusat kegiatan

Abstract

Abstract This study was conducted to determine the benefits of the use of polyethylene terephthalate used plastic as additives in hot asphalt mixture Hot Rolled Sheet Wearing Course. Marshall testing was carried out on specimens using polyethylene terephthalate plastic additives, with variations in the ingredients added 2%, 4%, 6%, 8%, and 10% to the weight of asphalt on specimens with Optimum Asphalt Content. Marshall parameters of test specimens generally meet the existing specifications, except the Void In Mixture value for specimens with plastic content of 8% and 10%. The optimum plastic content obtained from this study is 7.80%. Keywords: asphalt mixture, hot rolled sheet, Marshall parameters, polyethylene terephthalate  Abstrak Studi ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui manfaat penggunaan plastik bekas jenis Polyethylene Terephthalate sebagai bahan tambah pada campuran beraspal panas jenis Hot Rolled Sheet Wearing Course. Pengujian Marshall dilakukan terhadap benda-benda uji yang menggunakan bahan tambah plastik jenis Polyethylene Terephthalate, dengan variasi bahan tambah 2%, 4%, 6%, 8%, dan 10% terhadap berat aspal pada benda uji dengan Kadar Aspal Optimum. Parameter Marshall benda-benda uji umumnya memenuhi spesifikasi yang ada, kecuali nilai Void In Mixture untuk benda-benda uji dengan kadar plastik 8% dan 10%. Abstract

Abstract The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of using hydrated lime as a filler of Marshall Parameters on a mixture of Lawelle Granular Asphalt, which was produced from Asphalt Buton, using local aggregates. For this purpose, 45 specimens were prepared with variations in Lawelle Granular Asphalt levels and filler percentages. Variations of Lawelle Granular Asphalt levels are 25%, 30%, 35% whereas the filler variations are 0/100, 25/100, 50/50, 75/25, 100/0, between stone ash and hydrated lime. The analysis results show that the optimum level of Lawelle Granular Asphalt level was 29% and the optimum filler content was 60% stone ash and 40% hydrated lime. This means that the hydrated lime can be used as fillers in the Lawelle Granular Asphalt mixture. Untuk maksud tersebut, dibuatlah 45 benda uji dengan variasi pada kadar Lawelle Granular Asphalt dan persentase bahan pengisi. Variasi kadar Lawelle Granular Asphalt adalah 25%, 30%, 35% sedangkan variasi bahan pengisi adalah 0/100, 25/100, 50/50, 75/25, 100/0, antara abu batu dan kapur padam. Dari hasil analisis didapat bahwa kadar Lawelle Granular Asphalt optimum sebesar 29% dan komposisi optimum bahan pengisi adalah 60% abu batu dan 40% kapur padam. Abstract

Abstract The use of composite materials has been developed in the railroad transportation industry sector in Indonesia. For example, PT INKA has used composite materials with fiber glass reinforcement. The purpose of this study is to determine the characteristics of tensile strength and bending strength of the composite material so that it can be proposed to be further developed and utilized by the manufacturing industry, especially the railroad industry. In this study, 4 types of matrix variations were examined, namely epoxy, repoxy, polyester, and bhispenol using fiber glass reinforcement. Tensile strength and bending strength tests were performed in accordance with the ASTM D-638 and the ASTM D-790 standards, respectively. The results of this study indicate that the variation of the matrix is very influential on the tensile strength and bending strength of composite materials. Keywords: composite material, glass fiber, tensile strength, bending strength  Abstrak Penggunaan material komposit mulai banyak dikembangkan di sektor industri trasportasi kereta api di Indone-sia. Sebagai contoh, PT INKA sudah menggunakan material komposit dengan penguat serat gelas. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui karakteristik kekuatan tarik dan kekuatan bending material komposit agar dapat diusulkan untuk lebih dikembangkan dan dimanfaatkan oleh industri manufaktur, khususnya industri kereta api. Pada penelitian ini digunakan 4 jenis variasi matriks, yaitu epoxy, repoxy, polyester, dan bhispenol dengan menggunakan penguat serat gelas. Pengujian kekuatan tarik menggunakan standar ASTM D-638 dan pengujian bending menggunakan standar ASTM D-790.
