Abstract

The Perum Perumnas (Perusahaan Umum Pembangunan PerumahanNasional) a government company in housing development. The official name ofcompany in English is National Urban Development Company (NUDC). Themission of company is develop Low Cost Housing for the lowest and middleincome group of the peoples, specially in urban area. Perumnas must to get thebest location to develop the housing (to meet some criterias). For Medan case, wehave 3 candidates location, ie. Simalingkar about 10 km south-west of Medan,150Ha and former rubber plantation; Mandala about 8 km east Medan, 200 Ha andformer Palm Plantation and Martubung about 12 km north of Medan, 300 Ha andformer Rice Plantation.

Abstract

The objective of the research was to know and to analyze the influence of servicequality on students’ word of mouth through their satisfaction in the Diploma III ofTaxation Administration Study Program, FISIP USU. The type of the researchwas descriptive quantitative and its nature was descriptive explanatory. Theresult of the research showed that 1) service quality had positive and significantinfluence on students’ word of mouth through their satisfaction, 2) satisfactionhad positive and significant influence on students’ word of mouth, and 3) therewas indirect influence of service quality on students’ word of mouth through theirsatisfaction with the value of 0.235, while there was direct influence of servicequality on students’ word of mouth with the value of 0.394 which indicated thatdirect influence was more dominant that indirect influence.

Abstract

The SMEs sector is one of the drivers of the economy, but in its development there are still many unresolved problems, one related to finance. The purpose of this research is to know the influence of financial literacy or financial knowledge owned by the SMEs businessman (manager) towards the sustainability of their business from the SMEs in the village of Jatisasri. This research is a quantitative research, using simple lineir regression to test the hypothesis and take the popolation as well as the sample of research is the businessman (manager) of SMEs in the village of Jatisari Wonogiri a number of 38 respondents. Independent variables in this research are financial literacy and business sustainability is dependent variable. The results showed that financial literacy gives effect to business sustainability of 28.9%. This shows that financial literacy or financial knowledge owned by the SMEs businessman (manager) in Jatisari is important in supporting the sustainability of their business.

Abstract

This study aims to determine and analyze the effect on improving student achievement on Business Feasibility Study course in Management Studies Program between before and after application of STAD type cooperative model. This research is an experimental research. The population in this study is all students of Semester V (five) Management Studies Program Faculty of Economics, University of Muhammadiyah North Sumatera that take Business Feasibility Study Course both the Morning and SIANG class in Odd Semester 2015/2016 academic year. While the sample is taken from the population with cluster random sampling technique, which is taking the number of students as much as 2 classes of all existing classes. Data collection techniques used are documentation. To analyze the data of this research is by using t-test formula. The result of the research shows that there is no significant difference of student achievement of class K Morning Management (control class) with the achievement of student study of Class A of Morning Management (class of experience) on Management Study Program of Economics Faculty of Muhammadiyah University of North Sumatera at 5% significant level with application of learning method Cooperative type STAD.

Abstract

At this juncture, the growth of handicraft business in the world is quite rapidly which marked by the hard competition increasingly of handicraft products between the district of regions Aceh, therefore the handicraft entrepreneurs from Aceh must show a high competitiveness to other regional products through conduct a good marketing strategy. “Y” generation is an important consumer market segment in future due to the rapid growth of this generation and is also a high-income community. Consequently, the "Y" generation has attracted various research groups and scientific discipline attention. The aim of this research is to identify the perception of "Y" generation regarding the Lhokseumawe handicraft product. Through the quantitative approach via questionnaire this research found that: marginally, the perception of The generation “Y” at Lhokseumawe city to local handicraft products is still sufficient with low quality and the relatively expensive price. The purchasing of local handicraft products is only a gift or souvenir to introduce Aceh region and still not become a culture that shows the love of local products.

Abstract

This type of research is a causal research, useful for analyzing how a variable affects other variables, and also useful in experimental research in which the independent variables are treated in a controlled manner by the researchers to see the effects on the dependent variable directly. The result of simple regression analysis is Y = 4.764 + 0,198X1 + 0,096X2 + 0,425X3 + 0,268X4 + 0,602X5 + e which variable of physical evidence, reliability, responsiveness, assurance and empathy positive and significant influence to customer satisfaction at Bengawan Solo swimming pool . The test results (t) or partial test indicate that all the independent variables of physical evidence, reliability, responsiveness, assurance and empathy have a positive and significant effect on customer satisfaction. The result of determination test (R2) is 0804 (80,4%). So it can be said that 80.4% variation of bound variable that is physical evidence, reliability, responsiveness, assurance and empathy in the model can explain the satisfaction of visitors while the rest of 19.6% influenced by other variables outside the model.

Abstract

This research aimed to determine the relation  the Big Five Personality Dimension to Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) employees of PT Amarta Karya (Persero) Bekasi..This Research used quantitative method. The measuring tool used in this research is a questionnaire divided into 2 scales those are, the personality scale consists of 35 points statements and OCB scale consists of 20 items statemenst. The number of respondents in this research is 30 employee. This research used product moment pearson correlation as a data analysis technique and used SPSS 2.0 Application as a tool to calculate data. The results showed that among 5 personality dimensions found that Openness is a personality dimension that significantly has a relation with the employee’s OCB of PT Amarta Karya (Persero) Bekasi. There is a significant relation of openness variable 0,377 with significance 0,040 <0,05 to employee’s OCB of PT Amarta Karya (Persero) Bekasi.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of the organizational change, organizational culture and work behavior on performance, The population of this study are all employees and leaders who work in PT Sisirau Medan that is as much as 80 respondents. The sample used in this study is a saturated sample, using the entire population as a sample of 80 people. Data were collected using observations and questionnaires. Furthermore, data analysis is tested by using multiple regression analysis, t test, F test and coefficient of determination. The result of this research is organizational change has a significant effect on employee performance, the influence of organizational change on employee performance is 95.6%. Organizational Culture has a significant effect on employee performance, the amount of influence of Organization Culture on employee performance is 71.2%. Work Behavior has a significant effect on employee performance, the effect of Work Behavior on employee performance is 31.2%. Simultaneously Organizational Change, Organizational Culture, and Work Behavior have a significant effect on Employee Performance in PT Sisirau Medan. The amount of Organizational Change, Organizational Culture, and Work Behavior in explaining performance is 79.9% while the remaining 20.1% is explained by other variables not included in this research model.

Abstract

Television is a communication network with a role as a mass communication is one-way, causing heterogeneous simultaneity and the communicant. Every day people look at a number of television commercials. There are thousands of products on the market and It would be interesting to know why certain people respond to ads or not. Advertising is a multi-billion dollar industry with one main goal: to persuade people to buy the product. Advertising is an industry that spends a large amount of time and effort to figure out the best strategy to do what they want. Television advertising has a sense part of a series of activities to promote a product that emphasizes the image elements there in through the intermediary of television media.This study aimed to determine the effect of the use of humor in television advertising on brand awareness (brand) of the product. Based on research that has been done, it is known that the humor in the ad has a positive and significant impact on the brand awareness of the product. The result of consumers' assessment of the use of humor in television advertising, including in both categories so that the brand awareness (brand awareness) by consumers is acceptable.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of job satisfaction and employee discipline on the work performance of Bank Rakyat Indonesia Branch Putri Hijau Medan. This type of research is associative. The population of this research is all employees in a marketing department of Bank Rakyat Indonesia Branch Putri Hijau Medan as many as 31 employees and all become sample. This research uses census method or saturated sample. Methods of data collection of this study are questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. Methods of data analysis using descriptive analysis and multiple linear regression. The results of this study indicate that job satisfaction has a positive and insignificant effect on employee performance, Discipline has the positive and significant influence on performance, while simultaneously job satisfaction and work discipline together positively influence to employee performance of Bank Rakyat Indonesia Branch of Putri Hijau Medan. Employee discipline has a dominant influence on job satisfaction. The coefficient of determination (Adjusted R Square) is 0.162 means that 16.2% performance variables can be explained from job satisfaction and employee discipline while as much as 83.8% can be explained by other variables which are not examined by researchers in this study.
