Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to examine the factors influencing consumer purchase intention toward electric vehicle products in the Greater Jakarta Area (Jabodetabek).  Methodology – Through purposive sampling of motor vehicle users in the Jabodetabek area, a total of 1780 questionnaire responses were collected. Then the data were analysed using the Sequential Equation Modelling (SEM) method - PLS.Findings – Based on the analysis's results, lifestyle is the most influential factor affecting consumers' purchase intention of electric vehicles, compared to other factors studied. In contrast, environmental awareness does not significantly influence consumers’ intention to purchase electric vehicles.Originality/Novelty – This study offers a new perspective on how environmental awareness, government promotion, perceived price value, lifestyle, and perceived risk affect purchase intention toward electric vehicles in the Jabodetabek area. Consequently, it provides insights for developing more effective marketing strategies and public policies to reach potential consumers.Implications – Despite adequate infrastructure, along with supportive government policies and subsidies aimed at promoting the adoption of electric vehicles to reduce carbon emissions in the Jabodetabek area, environmental awareness alone does not significantly drive consumer interest. Instead, lifestyle emerges as the most influential factor in shaping consumer purchase intention. These findings suggest that stakeholders should consider lifestyle-oriented strategies to enhance the effectiveness of marketing policies and promote electric vehicle adoption as part of the border to reduce carbon emissions

Abstract

Purpose – This study examines the effect of organisational commitment and work stress on auditor performance with locus of control as a moderating variable in the Islamic banking industry in Medan.Methodology – This study employed a quantitative approach to objectively measure the relationships between variables using numerical data. Data analysis was conducted using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM), which is suitable for complex models and relatively small sample sizes. The population consisted of internal auditors from banking companies in Medan, North Sumatra. A total of 115 respondents were selected using purposive and snowball sampling to ensure relevance to the study objectives. Data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire to obtain measurable and statistically analyzable information. Findings – The results show that organisational commitment has a positive and significant effect on auditor performance, while work stress has a negative and significant effect on auditor performance. Furthermore, locus of control cannot moderate the effect of organisational commitment on auditor performance, but can moderate the effect of work stress on auditor performance in the Islamic banking industry in Medan.Originality/Novelty – The originality of this study lies in the integration of locus of control as a psychological variable in the structural relationship model between organisational and individual factors on auditor performance.Implications - The implications of this study contribute to management in designing human resource development strategies that take into account the psychological aspects of individuals in improving auditor performance.

Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to examine the impact of work-life balance, employee loyalty, and job demand on the job performance of Generation Z employees in manufacturing companies on Batam, with job satisfaction as a mediating variable.Methodology – A quantitative approach was employed using a survey method and purposive sampling technique. The data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with the SmartPLS 3 application.Findings – The results reveal that work-life balance, employee loyalty, and job satisfaction have a significant positive effect on the job performance of Generation Z employees in Batam’s manufacturing companies. However, job demand shows an inverse relationship, both directly and indirectly, with job performance Originality/Novelty – This study integrates three psychosocial variables work-life balance, employee loyalty, and job demand tested simultaneously to assess their impact on job performance. Its uniqueness lies in focusing on Generation Z, a workforce known for its flexibility, working within the rigid and highly demanding environment of manufacturing companies. Implications – The results highlight the importance of work-life balance and employee loyalty in enhancing performance, particularly through job satisfaction. This study contributes to a deeper understanding of the key factors influencing Generation Z employees’ performance in the manufacturing industry and provides a foundation for developing more effective human resource management strategies.

Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to examine the influence of workload and job satisfaction on quiet quitting, with leadership as a moderating variable, among lecturers at private universities in Indonesia. Methodology – A quantitative approach with survey method was employed. Data were collected from 130 lecturers at a private university using a structured questionnaire and analyzed with Structural Equation Modelling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). Both direct relationships and the moderating effects of leadership were tested through interaction termsFindings – The results show that workload significantly increases quiet quitting, while job satisfaction does not have a significant effect on quiet quitting. Leadership moderates the relationship between workload and quiet quitting, but does not moderate the relationship between job satisfaction and quiet quitting.Originality/Value – By examining workload, job satisfaction, and leadership together, this study offers a fresh perspective on quiet quitting in higher education, introducing a moderation approach that remains rare in this context.Practical Implications – The findings suggest that managing workload effectively and investing in strong, supportive leadership are critical to reducing quiet quitting. Universities can use these insights to design leadership programs that not only ease the strain of heavy workloads but also foster conditions where lecturers remain engaged and committed.

Abstract

Purpose – This study explores the impact of job demands and job resources on task performance among Indonesian Customs officers, with burnout and work engagement as mediators.Methodology – Data were collected using purposive sampling from 463 employees of the Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DJBC). Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was used to analyze the relationships between job demands, job resources, burnout, work engagement, and task performance.Findings – The study revealed that job resources reduce burnout and positively influence work engagement, both strongly correlating with task performance. Job demands were found to have a positive relationship with burnout and work engagement, with a moderate positive effect on task performance. Interestingly, job demands can motivate employees in certain situations, not always negatively affecting work engagement or task performance.Originality/Novelty – This research applies the Job Demands-Resources (JD-R) model to the public sector, specifically within DJBC. It provides new insights into how job demands and resources influence task performance, with a focus on burnout and work engagement.Implications – DJBC leadership should balance job demands and resources to reduce burnout, boost work engagement, and enhance task performance.
