Abstract

This article provides a concept of God in the Christianity. The concept is based on the Islamic perspective. It briefly explains how the Christian concept of God explores descriptive and then compare and contrast these insights, the concept of God which is based on the two Abrahamic faiths, Christianity and Islam. It also looks at some of the criticism of Islam on the concept of God in Christianity. The study then found that even those two religions have the same root as the Abrahamic religions but they actually have different interpretations of the concept of God itself. Unlike the tradition of Islam, Christianity has the concept of the trinity of God.

Abstract

This article explores the problem of relations between Mulsim and Hindu community in Bali. Methodologically, it consisted of three regions: Denpasar, Karangasem and Singaraja. Basically, the relation between Islam and Hindu in Bali has been strengthened by the Bali’s local culture which still continues to develop and exist until today. Genealogical relations due to marriage among families in the past and their generation’s nowadays also contribute significantly to the living harmony among Hindus and Muslims in Bali. Too, local governments trough Forum Kerukunan Antar Umat Beragama (Religion Followers Forum) and the Ministry of Religious Affairs facilitate wider medium of dialogues after the Reformasi era; therefore, relation among them remains constructive and puts forward local wisdom as the basis.

Abstract

This article attempts to review some understanding of key concepts related to political and religious authority in the Bugis people of South Sulawesi, particularly since the 20th century, such as arung (nobility), topanrita (scholar) and anregurutta (Islamic scholar). After analyzing the shift in the meaning of these concepts, this article seeks to trace the relationship between traditional authorities (white) with topanrita figure that, in the traditional sense, synonymous with the concept of intellectuals in modern society. After pointing out the meaning of the concept of transition topanrita so much represents the traditional ulama in Bugis society, the article concluded, among other factors of golden era of kingdoms Bugis-Makassar in the past is because of the critical relationship between political authority and symbiotic (arung) and socio-religious (anregurutta or topanrita) in these kingdoms.

Abstract

This article describes HizbututTahrir as a social movement in post-Suharto era, and his views on the re-establishment of the Islamic caliphate. In the perspective of the emergence of social movements can be said Hizbuu Tahrir Indonesia is clearly a response to a variety of damage that occurred in Indonesia ranging from poverty, injustice, corruption, and demoralization. Social disasters caused by the implementation of the Indonesian government or secular infidels (unbelievers) system emanating from Western values​​. To escape from such problems, HizbutTahrir and HTI is to encourage full implementation of Islamic Sharia from the restoration of the Islamic caliphate throughout the world. HTI is fully aware that to establish an Islamic caliphate requires collective action and support of many people.

Abstract

This study is intended to evaluate the pricing determination of consumer financing products of BSM, so that the customers can find out if BSM provides a treatment of installment payments on consumer financing products in accordance with sharia principles. In establishing the pricing on consumer financing products, BSM uses two methods, namely: the annuity method and the proportional (flat) method. The Construction of pricing on the consumer financing products in BSM is based on: (a) the total of installment payment per-month, it is based on financing platfond, percentage of margin, and period of time, (b) the principal installment payment per-month, it is based on total of principal installment payment per-month, and margin, (c) the installment payament of profit margin per-month, it is based on platfond, principal, and percentage of margin. The pricing used by BSM needs to be revitalized because (a) there is a profit return factor for customers, (b) containing a gharar element, and (c) using the paradigm of conventional bank in setting pricing.

Abstract

This study aims to address the origin and the meaning for the community of tradition the “Giant Lopis“ (Lopis Raksasa) in the perspective of religious harmony. The research has been conducted in a descriptive - qualitative approach. In this study, it is attempt to seek a thorough description and depth about the “Giant Lopis” tradition. Furthermore, this study is to find out how the tradition plays a role in order to maintaining an harmony of community in Pekalongan municipality openly and naturally. The results of this study shows that, firstly, is that the tradition of the “Giant Lopis” is closely associated with the practise of fasting on the Shawwal month, which was initiated by KH. Abdullah Siradj of Krapyak in 1855. Subsequently, his followers gave the guests whose came for silaturrahmi with snacks lopis on the 8th day. Another version mentioned that the lopis tradition was inspired by the speech of President Sukarno in 1950s in Kebon Rodjo Pekalongan. Secondly, glutinous rice as the basic ingredient lopis highlights a symbolic of the close relationship that tied rigging as a stronger. At this point, banana leaf wrapping is a symbol that people have to be usefull and good within their social life. Finally, the tradition of the giant lopis has a value of harmony, that is, to encourage tolerance, equality, and mutual cooperation.

Abstract

The ‘Tafsîr al-Qur'ân al-Karîm’ is the result of investigation for at least fifty-three years, ie since the author was 20 years old to 73 years. This interpretation is among of masterpiece work of Mahmud Yunus who has orientation to explain and clarify the instructions contained in the Koran for practiced by Muslims in particular and mankind in general, as a universal guide. The exegesis of 30 juz of the Koran is a work of translation is the most comprehensive one in his time. The comprhensi-onsiveness is due to two things: first translation is done no longer a separate part of the verses or surah-specific chapters, as shades of interpretation in the first generation; and second is the statement-information in the form of footnotes as a complement to provide pemaharnan on the meaning of certain verses.

Abstract

This paper presents Sheikh Daud al- Fatani’s thought on the concept of Musharakah in his book Furu 'al-Masa'il and referred specifically to the Kitabal-Shirkah. How musyarakah generally applied in Malaysia's Islamic banking system is the focus of this paper. In the same period, cross-references with the valid views of jurists of al- Shafi'i school of thought are also applied. Moreover, the concept of Musharakah is presented in his book “Furu 'al-Masa'il” is still considered relevant and applicable, including in the field of Islamic banking and finance from the past, present and future.

Abstract

This article focuses on a traditional ceremony in Gorontalo. The so-called Pohutu Momulanga ceremony, i.e. a traditional ritual which is performed in the event of local coronation and conferral for a regent or major in Gorontalo. The study shows that there has a number of meanings and values in the Pohutu Momulanga ceremony. Among those values and meanings consist on regalia and sacred words as the symbol of tuja’i. Those symbols and the tuja’i meant as leadership examples to community. It is important to note that the Pohutu Momulanga ritual is very much influenced by Islamic values.

Abstract

This article explores why the truth claims emerge and become a serious problem among religions, and how to handle it next to build inter-religious dialogue, especially in the era of pluralism. He tried to examine the issue of truth claims and how to solve them within the framework of dialogue. This paper is intended to implement concrete steps to overcome the problem of truth claims among religions and strive for mutual understanding to build a pluralistic view of interreligious dialogue in the frame. To overcome the problem of truth claims in religion dialogue, there are three steps that can be done: first, an exclusive view. Both views, inclusive. The final step is a pluralistic outlook.
